Well, Kubo made it very difficult for fans to not see Ichigo sappy around Rukia. After all, the entire SS arc was about Ichigo and Rukia, and how he vowed to save her. Every moment that happened in that arc, somehow connected them even more and allowed Ichigo to realize just what she meant to him. So I suppose the fans will go with what they feel the manga has been showing all this time, ne?Navi: And do you know what I find really amusing? It's how usually anything with romantic implications tend to fail when it happens in Bleach. MON was so full of Ichigo going sappy for Senna. Vol 32 was the infamous Ichigo vs GJ fight and Orihime's cheer. Look at how well the two did. The numbers speak for themselves so I don't think anyone can deny it. Yet when we look at FTB which was from the started heavily promoted as Ichigo going sappy for Rukia, surprising it is doing so well. I guess for Ichigo when it comes to romance people only accept him going sappy for Rukia, ne?
When Kubo invests as much time as he did with a pairing since the very beginning of the series, it is kind of hard, I suppose, for fans to digest any other pairing potential. Sure there can be moments, but it takes ALOT more then that to make a relationship. I think what made other attempts fail is the fact that to many, IchiRuki just seems like the natural choice for the course of the manga. So to see an attempt to put Ichigo with someone else does seem a bit...off? Not to say that its not possible, but in comparison to how much IchiRuki have grown throughout the entire series (yes the entire series and not just one/two chapters), it will take alot of work on kubo's part to make fans believe anything else is possible. And even then, based on how this movie was received, one does wonder if any other IS possible. Seeing the movie do so well is an indicator that fans are accepting that this is the pairing...how couldn't they when it screams ship galore, and then end up with a duet to listen to in the end, all thanks to Morita's suggestion?
LOL yes, it just seems Kubo surprises us more and more with their interactions, and to know that he planned this movie and allowed so much angst and desperation on Ichigo's part while trying to get Rukia really speaks volume. And I forgot where I saw a very small glimpse of what I think was Ichigo beginning to search for her when he is with Renji...ggaahh I wanted to see it, but they cut it off right then ggrr.I am still fangirling over the fact that in FTB only Ichigo could find Rukia's red string, it shows just how strongly their bond is in the manga that they can easily put that in the movie and flow seamlessly into the manga.
Kubo was so bold with this movie, and he was so proud. When it comes to Ichiruki everything he does is awesome, you can see the love he has for them. How in the world can one of the most complex relationships in Bleach be resolved in a meager interview? Such a relationship must be resolved in the manga, with panels and beautiful art.

And even though I still like the "original version" (lol, borrowing Morita's words here) a slight bit more, there's a sort of softness to this one that I really love. ♥ And like many have said, it's soothing, in a way that makes it sound very much like a lullaby, imo. HAHA. And mushy lyrics aside, I can totally imagine Ichigo & Rukia playing it for their baby when it's bedtime!

I totally agree with you.
This whole series was made with the bond between Ichigo and Rukia. To me its a bond so powerful that without each other, the other person will simply cease to exist. I can't imagine Bleach without one or the other. It's impossible for me to see Ichigo partrolling Karakura alone or Rukia just staying in Soul Society with a few visits to the human world.
This is slightly off-topic but I remember seeing a humorous fanart with Ichigo and Orihime going to bed. Then there was a hollow call and Rukia springs out of the closet.
From what we know of Ichigo what will he do? While there may be some banter between Ichigo and Rukia (in full view of Orihime), Ichigo will no doubt go answer the call being the knight in shining armor that he is.
I suppose this is my point, if Ichigo and Rukia end up with other people, its going to be very hard for their partners. Orihime cannot keep up with Ichigo, it doesn't matter if she has haxxor powers, physically she can't keep up with him. Sure she can undergo training and such but thats something that her character doesn't seem inclined to do. If Rukia, ends up with Renji, just how much can Renji actually understand what makes Rukia tick. I'm sorry to say this, but if Renji and Orihime end up with Rukia and Ichigo, you can bet that Renji and Orhime are going to be 'doormat' spouses.

yahoosoda, your post made me think that yeah, their relationship is definately going forward from FtB, and since all other pairings is kinda hard to imagine.... *Also, to help start this FC off, a new question put forth, probably all ready discussed .__.;;* What if Rukia had a fight with Ichigo, when they were further along with their relationship, and say if they were dating, broke up?
Tite would never create that kind of conflict though, cuz now that he poured his heart into FtB so amazingly
