I know everyone was looking forward to the KK battle, but this makes sense. The Ichi/ulqui battle if a lavish appetizer. The KK battle is the epic main feast. TK is just building up the anticipation by whetting out appetite.

I'm not surprised that this chapter is a bit of a time out, Kubo has been busy with stuff. When we get to the big fights there is going to be a lot of new stuff and he doesn't want to disappoint. Going right into that while he is touring around the US would probably cause him to do a rush job to stay on schedule.

It is a little surprising that the execution squad can slow Ichigo down, surely he could just zip right past them at his speed? He could also just put his mask on and fire one big Getsuga and take them all out in one shot, that's how I would do it. I can't complain about getting a glimpse of Rukia and possibly the others with her as well, a certain Captain maybe?

I missed the whole gang and am actually quite glad that the story has directed back to them. But at the same time I'm quite disappointed because I'm all hyped up and about for the battle in Karakura. I'm not easy to satisfy! xD
