No Hueco Mundo Arc for 2 months!

^^Hmm.. well, technically, you can't call these "fillers," since everything Kubo-sensei writes/illustrates is considered canon. A filler is some meaningless fluff that adds nothing to the weight of the story and is supposed to be forgotten eventually. It's a time-waster for the anime, but there is no reason to have fillers in manga. Kubo-sensei never writes anything that is meant to be forgotten.

These backstories are not filler and I wouldn't say that to him for fear of seriously insulting the man, because character development is just as important as the plot itself. He may have a very particular reason for wanting to do this, so let's just trust that he knows what he's doing...

I don't think he is talented to be called sensei too but that's complete another topic. In many "fillers" of anime, character designs are still having Kubo Tite sign under them. So we should not give them "filler" name.

You forget though, that there are multiple meanings for the term filler. Hate to say it, but these chapters would be filler. Sure they are canon filler, but filler nonetheless. We had plenty of instances in the anime, in which a filler episodes, of canon material, would pop up right in the middle of an arc. Same difference here.

Filler material is by very definition "filler" that is made of weightless, unimportant, padded material that is created by the animators who are not the authority figures of Bleach. Filler is the exact opposite of canon. Anytime something is non-canon, it is considered filler. If a supposed "filler" shows up in the canon-only manga, then it is NOT filler material.

Just drop by Japan sometime and you'll see that everybody calls him "Kubo-sensei." It's not my fault that you don't think he deserves it, but irregardless, that's what people call him over there.

Well, I never was in Japan, but I think that's a little exaggeration, Benihime. :P
And don't be pessimistic, people. As some stated here, we may get interesting data on characters. Who knows, maybe it will be these "fillers" where we get to know who was the woman Yachiru was named after? And even if these won't be such important things I'll still be glad to see more of some charas' backgrounds.

Would definitely like for some of these chapters to be dedicated to Las Noches and the daily antics life of arrancar. I mean Gin alone should make for hundreds of stories. Maybe even see him interacting with Luppi since he said he'll miss the guy.

I agree. People often think of filler/canon as opposites, but that's not always the case. I think of filler as anything that does not advance the main/current story line and canon as anything that can be considered "true" in the universe that the creator has developed-- usually whatever is produced by or officially endorsed by the original creator.

The Kakashi Gaiden from Naruto is a perfect example-- by my definition it was a filler (backstory) arc, yet VERY much canon and crucial to filling out Kakashi's character. If Kubo pauses the HM arc to insert something like that, (C'mon Kubo, give us Urahara!!) I would be quite happy indeed...

OMG people always come to the worst case scenario always thinking negative just think positive like I've said multiple times in this tread. Kubo is probably done writing the Hueco Mundo Arc. and all he needs to do is Draw the Chapters now
right now I bet he's finishing up the HM arc and is planing the Gaidens.

So just think Positive never think of the worst and if you do it just gets ya down
