Human Trafficers and Sexual Offenders. Should they be put to death?

I didn't imply that people against the death penalty were pro-criminal, I just said I strongly believe in the death penalty.

Is death a good enough motivator to stop? Apparently not, according to how often crimes are committed. But is rotting in jail really going to teach this woman to stop?

yes they should be put to death. Rapists too (just incase they dont count as sexual offenders). They should be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment cuz wutever they did to someone is cruel and unusual.

I think people tend to judge this issue using religious views or moral issues, but being purely opinionated,

I think when the issue gets close to home, I am a woman too, and I would also want those persons to die,

I want them to die so that they will not harm other people, sometimes, I have no faith in the justice system,

especially in our country...

There are times that you want to put justice in your own hands, sometimes I can't understand why we have to
wait for something else to happen before the higher ups do something...

The law has no tooth where it has have one, that's why women sometimes need to move on their own to protect themselves,
and this reality saddens me the most...

Human trafficers certainly....but there's such a broad range of what constitutes a 'sexual offence'. A guy who climbs over a fence to steal his neighbours underwear is a sexual offender, and definately a creepy pervert, but does he deserve to be put to death? No...maybe just hit over the head with a big stick. A man who has consensual sex with an underage girl who tells him she's legal is a 'sexual offender'. But does he deserve to be put to death for it? Assuming she looked old enough that her lie was believable, then no.

There needs to be a certain context applied to the question....but rapists, child molesters and other scum I would line up and shoot within two minutes of them leaving the courtroom.

I don't know the story and am basing this off of the initial post, but two wrongs never make a right. This woman's death will solve nothing other than give people some sick form of 'justice'; she needs to pay for her crime (5 years is way too little, at least 15!) and subsequently receive rehabilitation and support.

In my opinion she's just as guilty as the bastards who did it. In my opinion people like that can't be reformed. I don't think it's fair they should have any sort of life when they have destroyed so many others.

So I believe that every last one of them should die. It could be because I would rather die than to hurt my children. I would kill any of you if it meant saving my child. I am not trying to hear that "she was victim. She was sick from drugs" that is no excuse.

how is it not an excuse? I'm willing to bet the mother was no pretty sight; it's highly unlikely this would've happened in a well-off, supportive household. The mom probably received the same treatment and upbringing she provided for her own daughter... children born in poverty often grow up to live in the exact same circumstances and so goes the vicious cycle. If the mother was raised properly and/or not hooked on drugs, would she have this sick sort of mind that justified selling her daughter as a sex slave?! NO. We shouldn't be thinking "What a cruel parent! Shame on her!" but along the lines of "How did this happen? Why didn't we, as a society, stop this? What are we going to do to prevent it from happening to another innocent child?!" Killing the mother will solve nothing and it will certainly not stop it from happening again to another infant.

I think the laws should be changed. She should also be charged with murder.
She sold her to people who killed her. In my eyes she's just as guilty and she should get the death penalty.

By selling her daughter into prostitution, this mother certainly committed a heinous crime but she never believed "Oh, my girl will die from this!". She had absolutely no way of knowing she would've been killed, and that makes her unrelated to the murder.

Human trafficers should just be wiped off the face of the Earth. People who group other people to be sold are just out right wrong. The more stupid thing is that they do it for money and they can get away with it at times. As for Sexual Offenders, I don't know...they do have odd attraction towards others, for one I think it may be either they're bored of their own personal lives, or maybe they're just out right disgusting. My guess is well Sexual Offenders shouldn't be given the death penalty, I think they should be just grouped with all the Sexual Offenders. Killing them won't solve anything other then reducing the Sexual Offender population, getting rid of Human Trafficers...Yes, get rid of them.

that's actually quite a good way of putting it to be honest. Everyone is not always set to be as evil as the mother, so we can only imagine that there's something in her life that happened. We don't know fully the details that lead up to this case, so how can we say that the mother is evil? how can we be justified in saying that mother is evil?

As well as that, i find some people's notions of "just get rid of them" quite...brutal. Granted, i agree with up most confidence that they are twisted and evil, but it's quite far to say kill them all...

Mass murderers, maybe, but not sex offenders- on a varying degree
(human traffickers might also not be entirely on sex, since they might move poor immigrants to other countries to give them a good chance of life...sometimes)

I would completely and whole-heartedly go for the death sentence. These people are monsters of the society, why should they deserve to live, as they go on playing, destroying others' lives?
