Well I'd say it's a justified ego. He defeated Ichigo easily two times and even killed him in the end. So if the difference in power is that clear I wouldn't say it's an ego trip of Ulquiorra, it's just his typical analytical self. And since Hellknight Ichigo wasn't taken into account when Ulquiorra said that it's again an overall correct statement by him.

Oh by the way when Ulquiorra (who was already playing pingpong with Ichigo at that time) asked him to give up and get out of there with his friends I didn't interprete it as negative at all. He just didn't want to unneccessarily kill anyone and it's Ichigo's own fault that he didn't listen to him, turned cliché shounen hero 101 and got a hole blown through his chest in the process

Sliced to fudge by one-armed-and-eyed Ken-chan. Knocked to the floor by spaced-out and weak-hollow control Ichigo. Only managed to grab him cos Ichi was spacing-out over his mask being faulty....

If next chapter is (as some anticipate) his big turnaround then I shall remove this then - otherwise Yammi's ego dwarfs his talents.

It's not that Ulqi will just let Orihime go. They'll end up fighting anyways ;p

Very true, but he could of grabbed her and made a run for his allies. The 4 capts in HM, Nakama, etc, since the garganta were sealed. (but I guess he didn't know the extent of their injuries or were they all were, except Kenny.)

The only dumb/ego-driven thing Ulq said was "...no matter how strong you are, if you just stare cos you tore an arm off, you'll never beat me..." Unfortunately for Ulq, Ichigo-H2 was so strong he blitzed him even with various spacing-out... So yep, even Ulq suffered an attack of ego there. [But I agree, overall he was pretty accurate and logical with his statements.]

Its a specific type of ego, Rangiku Matsumoto is an obvious choice for ego in beauty for example. And that would be comparing apples to oranges to a fighting ego. Pretty much anything can have an ego associated with it. There are people out there who feel they are the best forum posters.

Heh, I'm too lazy to write down (and rank) all the characters I see as egocentric, but I'll say the top of my list is Aizen's holier-than-art-thou

For the protagonists, it would have to be Ichigo that has the biggest ego.
The man has an irritating hero complex. It's one aspect I was hoping,
he would improve on after his fight with Ulquiorra. but alas that wasn't the
case. There were four captains present and yet he still felt that he has
to be the one to take care of the enemies. There's very little respect for
allies from Ichigo. Then Mayuri would take second place. His constant out of the blue science miracles are truly irritating.

From the Antagonist side, it would have to be Aizen. He actually wants to be
god, so that's hard to beat by any bleach character.although his view on
himself is somewhat justified since he's incredibly powerful. Second place
would go to either yammy or NNoitra. and szayel should also be mentioned
since he's quite similar to Mayuri.

anyway speaking of egos, I should probably also mention who I think is the
least egotistic. IMO that would be Orihime.
