Oh, ANNIE! This is wonderful!! Thank you for taking the time to organize all the goodies we've received and providing links I had fun clicking on them and remembering how much fun we had squeeing over them! I swear, it's unbelievable! Even though we only got two chapters with Ichiruki in them in the manga, there was still so much to freak out over! And that makes me a very happy Ichiruki fan It's nice seeing our pairing get love from the manga, anime, movie, omakes, spread, and more

And I agree with S.A.. I just can't process the idea of someone looking at all of these goodies that Ichiruki gets. All the attention, whether it's in the manga, the anime, Morita fanboying, or Kubo gushing about them in interviews and randomly drawing Rukia and Ichigo, when everyone thought it was supposed to be just Ichigo (). I can't see someone looking at all of that and saying, "Oh well they're just friends. It's PLATONIC! Bleach is the story of Ichigo and his sibling-like bond with Rukia FTB? Pffft, sibling bond movie all the way!! " I mean, sure, we know they aren't romantic. But no one can deny that their bond is more than platonic. It's been shown time and time again that their bond transcends that of nakama or siblings. Hell, Kubo HIMSELF, said their bond isn't a friendship bond. I guess it's just a matter of people not wanting to admit it

And also, I'm LOVING LOVING LOVING all the Rukia fanarts! I've repped anyone I could and if I couldn't, it's because my rep button's being stupid But I truly adored every single one of them and wish I had half the talent, nay, an eighth of the talent that this FC has! This is such a fun way to represent different cultures. I loved seeing Chinese!Rukia and Finnish!Rukia and Indian!Rukia and etc and etc Again, FANTASTIC job everyone!!

I wanted to comment on the list yesterday but it was so late and today I've been outside all day

BUT BUT Now it's when I realize all the goodies we've been recieving. They're so many and we are yet to hear b-station sessions with Ori-chan (doesn't matter if they don't say anything Ichiruki but the two of them in b-station makes my day ).

Kubo sure loves them so much being together and he just can't help it. This year (my very first real year in Bleach fandom) had me squeeing almost EVERY WEEK about how much Kubo, japan, the anime team and so so love Ichigo and Rukia . And I just feel we will continue recieving more goodies. So, can't wait for what's to come

You know, I've been thinking: maybe the old Ichigo may have had a chance at defeating Aizen. I mean, you would think that Ichigo would continue to get stronger, especially after all this time, and after all the fights that he has been through.

when Ichigo went through SS, he definitely came out of that arc a lot stronger than he was going into it--Ichigo is a fast learner, and gets stronger with experience. So maybe that's why Unohana seems to have so much "faith" (for lack of a better word) in him...? I'm sure that not everyone knows about what went down up at the dome. And not everyone knows Ichigo well enough to be able to tell with a single glance that the Ichigo we see in the recent chapters is NOT the same Ichigo that we all know and love. So...maybe that's why? I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this, though...

The old Ichigo was much more confident in his abilities - this newer version of Ichigo obviously isn't (again, I reiterate - hence why he is running away from his problems and rushing to FKT. He wanted to leave HM asap, and he didn't do so just because Byakuya told him to - he never listens to anybody, why listen now?). That's why it kinda worried me when Unohana told him he was the only one who was able to fight Aizen and he responded, "I know now. So all I have to do is... beat Aizen!!" (or something like that). This sounds like the old, confident Ichigo that we all know well but in reality I think his bravado is just masking the uncertainty that lies underneath. What is Ichigo planning to do with his low confidence? He thinks he can rush in to the middle of the battleground and win? Is he trying to prove to himself that he can still fight as a shinigami and not rely on his hollow? IDK, but relating this back to IchiRuki - Rukia was always able to keep Ichigo in line whenever Ichigo became emotionally low. I specifically recall the Man in my Heart scene (I love that scene so much!). Rukia gives him his confidence back and is the source of his confidence, so undoubtedly I think Rukia will set him straight again even though she doesn't know the logistics of what's happening with his hollow.

Re: list of IchiRuki goodies this year!
Wow, didn't realize that we had THAT many stuff to squeal about this year. I started reading Bleach this year and so this is my first year in the Bleach and IchiRuki fandom. What a great year to pick to start reading Bleach!

Besides the obvious favorite Fade to Black movie (still squealing over that movie even now), it's hard to pick a favorite from the rest of the goodies. If I had to, I would pick the novel and the zanpakutou spread. I love that spread! Sode no Shirayuki and Zangetsu side by side. *sigh* Plus, I agree, the novel is like an IchiRuki fanfiction, seriously. LOL.

Thanks for compiling all the IchiRuki goodies for this year Annie-san...

Kubo is really going with all these huh...(and also the anime production team)....I never expected that there would be a lot of it! (I only thought that it would just be FTB but there were more!)

I'm currently downloading them right now and I'm really happy with it!
I hope there would be more to come next year or at least, before the year ends...

finally... I would also like to give my hugs and kudos to all those people who have quickly made a sig or an avatar of the IchiRuki calendar...

I mean...that's just the list of recent goodies we've received...there's still the ENTIRE Bleach series! and there are people that still argue that IchiRuki is a sibling relationship?

If that's the case, then it seems like Kubo prefers to draw siblings together over lovers. Does that mean that sibling love > love love?!

...which brings me to...the omake comic strip! Which, so far, is one of my favorites!!! Does that imply that Byakuya is welcoming and accepting Ichigo as his brother in law?! *read the comment about how the packets are given to faimly*

But to make my post more serious and less spammy/fangirly, I'd like to ask yet another question. It isn't a deep, provoking question, it's simply one that you answer.

It seems like Kubo enjoys drawing Ichigo and Rukia together--it makes sense, after all, they ARE the main characters of the series, and their bond is easily one of the closest in the series. But this is a rather typical shonen approach. With Naruto, for instance, Kishi likes to draw Naruto and Sasuke together, and their relationship is quite heavily emphasized (to the point where NaruSasu is a popular pairing). But most of us know that it most likely won't happen because they are both males.

I do realize that it isn't always accurate to compare manga series, but it is a trope/trend, if you will. The main main characters in shonen series are usually of the same gender, share a close bond, and are drawn in spreads together. Ichigo and Rukia fit this mold except for the glaring fact that they are not of the same gender. One is a male, the other is a female.

My question is this: what, in your mind, makes IchiRuki different from all the other main character/close friend bonds in shonen manga (other than gender)?

ComeComeParadise, I will answer your question later... sorry, I've got limited amounts of time at the moment <3 but I'm going say right now, they caught my heart from the very beginning. I've read other series with boy-girl partners, but damn, Ichigo and Rukia.... they are just the best.

Also, Annie, thank you buckets and buckets for putting all those together. I wish everyone would share their thoughts on how momentous a thing it is to really see it all together like that, how we get fanserviced like crazy. It's a wonderful, warm feeling. <3
