I hope you're taking the piss out of Kubo's writing and not trying to say ceros shouldn't hurt now.

The power of a cero depens on the person using it. Yammy is weak so that's why Ichigo can block it, Stark was the primera and was physically more powerful than Kyouraku, so there was no reason why his cero shouldn't have killed/heavily injured him unless he was holding back.

Ceros are absolutely nothing. They don't mean anything, blocking them or avoiding them means nothing unless the target is significantly weaker than the shooter.

And Ichigo is clearly not significantly weaker than Yammy.

Yammi's in his release state now, so he should be at least equal Stark in raw power. I doubt all that bulk is supposed to give him a speed boost.

So no, it's not "nothing" that Ichi could sucker punch his Cero without the mask on. That's basically the same as Naruto tossing rhinos to me.

It's true ceros aren't everything, but he already repelled it (in Bankai I assume), and can shunpo faster than Yammy's punch.

If that wasn't enough, he becomes the creature that defeated Ulq (according to the new batch of spoilers).
Even if it's just an evolved mask, Ichigo is already capable, so unless Yammy isn't trying, his chances are low.

Cero is like Kidou. It's only able to cause fatal wounds in special cases of absurdly great powerlevel difference. Like in cases of Grimmjow vs Luppi, Grimmjow vs Loli/Menoli, or ÜberIchiHollow vs Ulquiorra for examples.

Against opponents of similar or not-too-different powerlevel, it will only cause burns or minor wounds. And then there's the case where the target just handfucks the cero, like Kenpachi vs Nnoutra, Ukitake vs Lily, or this one.

You shouldn't be too surprised at this, like just look at what Starrk's point-blank cero did to Kyouraku. And he was the Primera.

Yes, that's true. Shunsui looked like he was just playing in the dirt or something. In fact, I don't even think he was dirty when he came out of the shadow.

But that's just it. Ichi has the raw power to dribble the Cero's Cero without even using his mask. He was still lightly crisped and toasted by Q's unreleased Cero 20 minutes ago.

I'd say that's a big improvement.

Yammy is just going to lose , it 's not enough to possess reatsu , it doesn't gives him strategy or any particular skills ...
If Kubo wants to show Ichigo 's new "power" , Ichigo must defeat Yammy on his own field (raw power).

Uhhh, then what was the point of changing the mask if there isn't a difference of power? Unless Yammi has some gimmick to him, he probaly will be defeated here and now. Ceros are nothing anymore is probaly true, Grand Ray and Cero Osucuras might never be seen again, the only Cero that actually does anything is Ichigo's in his new masked state. TBH What are people so shocked about? Yammi is an Espada, therefore destined for bad performance/failure. After how "Downgraded" the Top 3 where, this should be no surprise

What I don't get is: how much would Yammi getting ROFLstomped by Ichi do for the story?

If Ulquiorra had one release, I'd understand. But he had 2. And Arrancar releases are much bigger in scale. So Ichi has already crushed someone near the peak of Espada power. Does he have to take the actual peak just 'cause?

Then again, Ichi losing so Unohana can fight Yammi wouldn't do much either, since no one expects her to lose that fight. I kind of feel sorry for him--he's not all that relevant anymore.

LOL Icihgo knocked away Yammy's Cero with one hand? WTF? Kubo mentioned Unonhona won't be fighting in an interview, and I agree, Yammy becoming Godzilla seems pointless.
