Late I know...But I didn't give my chapter review here
I loved loved loved loved this chapter. Yeah he lost, but that isn't what matters.
Instead it's Ichigo and Rukia words and actions that should be the most noted in this chapter. They are giving you insight to Ichigo's state of mind. Along with the chapter cover (That I am wearing)
It shows that he hasn't become, that he is not a monster. That he does indeed regret, feel remorse, and extreme sorrow over killing Ulquiorra. That to Ichigo the thought of killing another is "STILL" abhorrent to him. Notice that Rukia says that he doesn't have the "eyes that say he's prepared to kill a man. To cut down an enemy if need be"
I also saw he was deeply troubled by the thought he could hurt is friends with that power. It was his top concern.
I think the way he faced Yami also shows his maturity since coming to HM. He is no longer the naive boy he once was. He knows that "I want to do it so I can" doesn't always work. Sometime it takes power.
Now Ichigo knows that...He has no choice but to fight Yami using ALL of his power. If he wants to save his friends. So he approached Yami with false bravado. Because his world has become jaded. Now that he's taken a life, he values "life" more than he did before. Now he sees all wars and fights as pointless and trivial because they take lives. He wants to put and end to it all. Yet to do so he has to fight. Fighting may end in a person's death but it comes with territory. In a war and a battle death is unavoidable so many characters have said the same.
Ichigo has accepted that. Ichigo has come "full circle", don't you see?
I swear it makes me so happy my chest is filled--near to BURSTIN. I can't breathe and I wanna cry.I just might. I already have tears in my eyes...it's just I really love this character
I have never wanted Ichigo to morph into Ogichi. I think he's perfect the way he is. However I did want him to stop being a bleeding heart protagonist. He can be caring and gentle and still be ready to cut a man down. If it's protection of those he loves, and on the side of good.
I don't want him to be a killer. I would just like to see him use his "killer instinct" sometimes.
This chapter has shown me that Ichigo has hit rock bottom. He cannot do nothing other than to go up.
Kubo's drawing of Ichigo was the most beautiful panel of Ichigo ever!
It showed his pain like never before, yet he couldn't have been more beautiful.... (Damn it I am gonna cry)
I have to stop now because I just became embarrassingly emotional and my family is looking at me like I am weird, yo.... That's my thoughts on chapter. A little late but I had to get that out
