I think that the main point is that Unohana has stated that "she was there not to fight, but simply to heal..." which esplains why she didn't help with Ulquiorra (and don't tell me that Ichigo was too fast for her to follow him ) and why she will not help with Yammi...
Maybe Yamaji prohibited her to take part in the fight...I don't know.
About SS not knowing about Ichigo hollow's powers...you guys make it seem that SS is a bunch of idiots, without any intelligence...
definitely they know and simply are ignoring the issue because they have bigger problems at the moment...exactly like they're ignoring the Vizard's matter...

it's bleach, stranger things have happened....that and it's a cartoon....and KT can be krazy like that....I think...who knows....but i don't think that she will die, she was too much of an ecclectic character.

Care to remember Central 46? I'm not saying nor implying that they are stupid but the lack of communication is evident. Even though it's the 13 protection squads doesn't mean they all play nice and share every week

Byakuya is the only SS captain to see glimpses of Ichigo's hollow powers. Had he informed the other captains and more importantly, General Commander Yamamato I highly doubt that Ichigo would've then be given Substitute Shinigami rank.

Yama also made an interesting Ichigo, eh? remark to Shinji's claim to the Vizards allegiance. It's all foreshadowing of the future.

Anyz..don't think it was mentioned but the last panel Ichigo!!! scream of last week's chapter now seems more and more to have been one of the nakama facing Yammi.
