Hmmm... good point Spacecat. Yana did make an effort to portray the Queen as a benevolent figure... but that would add to the surprise if it were revealed that she was tied to the villians. I'm not saying that she's the mastermind behind all the tragedy that's hit Ciel, but she could have been a knowing helper... I have a theory that she might have sent Ciel on that mission knowing that it would remind him of his horrible past (maybe she's evil enought to do that...)

Love the twisted Ciel (even if is horrible here). He is such an interesting character! I've always thought that he will lose his soul not by death but by losing his humanity... Sebastian must be laughing inside...

Although Ciel is going down the wrong road, I agree with Yana's decision to make him a darker protagonist than we're really used to.(...).

And Ciel's fall was almost inevitable from the beginning - making a contract with the demon and selling his soul for power and revenge. I don't really believe that there can be a happy ending to this story, what with the events leading up to it.

I agree with this, homwever i am starting to deslike the way Ciel is doing things, the kind of person that he is becoming, he is becoming more like the people that he killed.
he is overusing his 'power' and of course sebastian is enjoying it. he is influencing Ciel, he is using the boy like a toy to see until where he can go. Ciel is blinded by power and revenge, he is going to a dead-end path. someone has to stop him, someone must stop him, someone must open his eyes and makes him sees that this is not the right path.
this manga is getting more and more interesting and i am too anxious to see how it is going to end.
for much time i questioned that Sebastian was the main character of this manga, but now i think it is ciel, he is following the steps of tha 'path of a hero' acoording to Joseph Campbell, he is going to a dead-end path, and this is necessary for his rising but how this is going to happend I dunno, maybe the Queen, maybe Elizabeth have a role here.

Ciel is getting interesting, i´m sick of those protagonists how have suffered and are always happy, always smiling like those you see in some shoujos, the real hero is like ciel, a dark past, a darth path and an interesting end.

Well, related to the Undertaker, for me, since the begining i think he was a shinigami, he looks like a shinigami for me

Oh but he does wear glasses! Or at least used to. I know not many of us are fans of saying anime = canon, but the brief flashback shows Reaper!Undertaker with glasses.

In the first phrase I didn’t see where it’s written about “….the thing that you live for”.
1. それに気付くのは支え切れなくなってから…….
Undertaker: But when the thing that you live for will no longer support you...
In my opinion it should be something like
---> Undertaker: And because of that you will lose your support….
それに= ??? (I’m not sure what it means in this context)
気付く= become aware of….., notice, find, suspect

2. ー体小生は何度同じちゅう告を君たちにしていんだろう
Because I saw the words “君たち” I think "you" should be plural "(you guys)". I think he implies to Vincent too.

Actually when I read “君たち” and saw Undertaker playing with his medals (stopping on one particularly), the translation sounded to me as "How many times have I been giving you and the others the same warning?"

As for the それに気付くのは支え切れなくなってから……., I'm not sure about that one but since the previous sentence was a statement about Ciel's loosing gradually his humanity because of his abusing power and since に is the particule that introduces the object that is noticed (気付く), I think that それに気付く may be referring to that and translated as "realising it". (by the Queen)

This is the Queen's support we're speaking about so it would be sorta logic that Ciel loses her support when she finds out what he has become/done.

So in the end it would be something like:

"Because you hold a great power you gradually failed to understand the importance of the irrevocable things. And once you will have lost your/her support because she realised it.....
How many times have I been giving you and the others the same warning? Huh? Earl Phantomhive "

The whole thing seems to hold a warning tone about what happens to those that loses the Queen's support. With a hint that this already happened before, to this Claudia P(hantomhive) at least. (I agree we can add Vincent to the list ^^)

Needless to say that I now highly suspect the Queen being behind Vincent's death...
