Odd thing is that Shinji put on his mask only to shunpo before Aizen and remove it. And just like I expected - Aizen is smiling which can only mean that Shinji is in for some major surprise (if not whoopass) next chapter.

Well, now that initial demonstration is over, we can have some solid matchups which I hope won't turn into boring "fights" with more talking than actual fighting.

I think it's a possibility that Aizen is not really there and Shinji knows it. I'm hoping the vizards own all of Aizen's underlings. They look powerful enough to do it.

Doubt it. Kubo did this to make the Vizard seem strong then when they lose to Aizen and his crew it will make Aizen seem unbeatable.

That's what I'm guessing. Everybody just for some reason assumes Shinji has become suicidal and is just plain bum-rushing Aizen after removing his mask? He wouldn't wait 100 years with his crew and decide to just rush in alone for no reason.

If then Aizen just beats them now, it wouldn't make Aizen any stronger, since the vizards never demonstarted anything to make them look really strong!

Actually I find Aizen's invincibility quite boring at times. Hopefully Shinji doesn't get owned next chapter, and that the Aizen standing before him is really an image that Shinji already knows about, although I have a feeling that Shinji is gonna get shocked by either: 1) The image, and/or 2) Aizen's power and/or own mask.

Hopefully something really major actually goes against Aizen, though not enough to put his plan off...

Kubo must be a genius, thats right, I praised Kubo.

First he sets up a continuity:
1. He makes it clear captain class shinigami can pwn gillians.
2. Then he fails that continuity by having captain class pwn adjuchas arrancar. A higher level of menos and arrancar to boot, probably 3-4 times stronger.
3. Now he has captain class shinigami with vizard power, effectively twice as twice as normal captain class shinigami, pwn gillians, already stated to be a low level.

there's no continuity failure. captains can easily pwn gillians, while against the adjunchas, they had to use most of their powers and take significant damage, that's not exactly pwnage.

the vaizards pwning gillians is a redundant showing of their power, not continuity failure. plus but kubo made the battles more bloody to show the hollow aspect of their fighting style.

They why would he make Shinji remove his mark? He's just going to make it look like Shinji had a handicap against Aizen.

The led a co-ordinated attack against the Gillian and merely displayed one of their hollow powers in order to finish them off as quickly and brutally as they did.

For me, besides the brutality the teamwork they displayed here is like poetry in motion!!!

They will have their time to shine but unless Aizen finds a way to control them... The Espada will win because he needs an army to help fight the Royal Guard. I know people don't want to hear it but the Vizards are only a plot device to make Aizen look even stronger.
