Hmm, judging from that annie said it was red and that it came out of his finger, Cero seemed like the logical guess. But there was no result from it. It's almost as if it didn't even complete, let alone do anything. And, why the ground? Too many unknowns to really have a good guess at it.

actually thisseems llike the most logica explanation. it shouldn't be cero cos we've seen what cero looks like, its nothing like this. plus he seems to do ir from his mouth.

when zaraki showed up he put is habd onto the ground and the light went throuugh zaraki (seeming not to even harm him). as soon as the light passed through zaraki, nnoitra got very shocked/suprised and was teling tesla to run...so the most obvious theory would be that the light measured zaraki's strength. he probably did it cos he was a captain, and thought hhe would be far strronger than ichigo...which for some reason it seems like it is the case.

yeah you're right. chapter 263 page 3. nnoitra sticks his finger in the ground then suddenly looks to the side, then telling tesla he found a strong guy etc.

it probably measures every1's power in the area under that dome in las noches (the one with the blue sky). or you can probably focus on 1 person power to measure it too.

I dont think shunpo was properly explained, bit and pieces of it maybe.
there was a scene in chapter 63 where zangezu (spelling) was telling ichigo how to stand in the air, that was the basis of shunpo, you may have mistaken it for that scene, then a while later in 241, when they were on their way to HM, ishida says froming a platform using raishi is jsut a application of their equivelent of shunpo. i think thats all the explaination to shunpo.

tari- the minus chapters are years. this chapter wasn't -25.2, its 25.2 so it takes place just after chapter 25.

you can tell by the title (6/18) and Ichigo's wounds that it is just after Ichigo's fight with grand Fisher:D

It can't have taken only 17 years. Rukia said she was adopted by the Kuchiki's around 40 years ago. At that time Renji said something about passing his second exam so he wasn't even in the Gotei yet. And Renji didn't become a vice-captain until Rukia got stuck in the living world so it had to have taken him around 50 years from entering the academy to becoming vice-captain (the academy is supposed to take 6 years, I believe).

Plus, Mizuiro's side chapter is numbered 0.8, and it took place a couple months before the manga started so I can't see how that number would correspond to years.

The numbers probably don't correspond with years, or with other chapters. There was brief mention in the "Soul Society timeline" thread in Bleach General, I think, but the numbers may be a part of some other timeline that only Kubo knows about.

Or maybe he's just throwing random numbers around to mess with our heads...

Okay, this may be a stupid question, but I'm just gonna go ahead and ask it.

I've been re-reading old chapters of Bleach a lot lately, and I have a question about chapter 206. How come Renji was bowing to Ikkaku and calling him sir in chapter 206 during Ikkaku's flashback. Renji's above him in rank and, according to the SS arc, should be stronger than him.

It may be completely obvious, and I'm just being a retard and missing it, but can someone explain to me why he was doing that? Cuz I don't see why Renji was doing that.

It doesnt matter who's stronger, Ikkaku is Renji's senpai if you think about it. He just respects him, thats why he bowed. But I'll check that chapter out myself just to see which scene youre talking about.


EDIT: Just read it. The reason why Renji bows to him is not only because he respects him, but also because Ikkaku taught him about BanKai. Ikkaku is Renji's master in a way. Hope that clears thing out. :)

Vaizado has cleared it up above. Respect doesn't come from rank only, after all, Renji called Byakuya "Kuchiki Byakuya" during their fight. Before he became a vice-captain, Renji was ranked below Ikkaku as 6th seat in 11th division. In Bleach time, that was only around two or three months ago. The reason why Ikkaku isn't ranked higher than he is now is because he wants to fight under Zaraki. He could easily be a vice-captain in another division, probably even a captain after the betrayal, but he chooses to stay in 11th division.

i have two questions. with the insight given in the latest chapters we know aizen's been doing things in hueco mundo a lot longer than most ppl thought, so what method was he using to turn neliel etc into arrancar in the past without the hougyoku, urahara talked of aizen's experiments not progressing far at all without the hougyoku but we have something like neliel who's probably far better than some of the hougyoku arrancar now, was aizen always able to bestow such abilities and power on arrancar (as noitora says) by other methods, like mask removal? And one more question, could you tell me what the privaron espada said to prove that they were there before aizen, i just don't remember.
and if you can't answer the former question succinctly then if there is already a discussion somewhere about this (sorry couldn't find it ><) then direct me to it ne ^^

lol. Well Dan, your first question doesn't have a specific chapter all to reference. I suggest you make a thread if you want to try and find that answer and what everyone else thinks.

You would also probably be best off making another thread for your second question as well. lol. By "they" do you mean, the privion espada, espada's in general, or just arrancar? We know the espada existed while Aizen was there, then after he got the hougyoku, there was another generation of them. I doubt they existed before Aizen got there. The espada that is. I'm sure there were plenty or arracars, vastlords ect ect though.

Still not exactly sure what you trying to ask. I don't remember either of them saying anything like that. It's only makes sense that arrancar would have been around before Aizen got there. Plenty of arrancar have implied it. We know they can be natrually made, so they didn't need Aizen. Do you mean Doldoni or Gantenbein specifically being around? Don't think that was ever said either.

In any case, both fights take place between chapters 251 and 261. That would be your best place to find what you are looking for.....

Thanks a lot soranushi!! And i did read this chapter, i rememebr now after reading it again, but i guess it didn't have the same significance then that it has now. I had always assumed that being shinigami that gained hollow powers the vaizards had had to have dwelled in SS at some point and i just figured that they knew stuff, i sure never would have thought a renagade gang like them (cause they were really first introduced as misfits) could have been taichou or even fuku and even less invloved in such a plot as that disclosed in -108 and -107.
Anyway, reading it again, hirako actually felt very "taichou-ish" which reinforces my conviction that KT has had the overall bleach story thought out a long time ago, cause really most of it really seems natural when you re-read the previous chapters.

I think you're interpreting this the wrong way. Akon knows urahara. He is not saying "anyone who made an untraceable gigai would be banished"

I think he is saying that there is only one person with the skill to make such a gigai, and that person was banished(not necessarily for making the gigai).

I read it as this:

"The only one who could make this gigai has been banished from soul society"

I dont think its necesarily the creation of an untraceable gigai that would get you banished, but its rather the skill that it takes to make an untraceable gigai (and therefore, skills that are dangerous to the SS)

however, i wouldn't say the common interprtation is incorrect

if anyone could make an untraceable gigai, they could have the skills that SS would banish them for

So the reasoning (for being banished) is different, however the result remains the same

making an untraceable gigai will most likely lead to you being banished
