My main problem with fillers ending so soon, is that I simply don't see any GOOD place in the Las Noches arc to put fillers that won't completely crap up the anime even more. Those sequence of events that start are simply too important to mess up and for them to not happen as they do, would be unrealistic to no end.

i think it wont be a problem because the manga material still should make about 20-25 episodes (about 53 chapters are left) that means kubo has about a half year of time to finish this arc and i think he will do that but the problem is afterwards.
pierrot would have to insert a massive filler arc which i think could possibly kill the pace of the whole ss vs aizen conflict.

something major should happen, but then there will be a short space of time b4 the final confilct probably. they could do fillers in that part. i doubt it'll ruin anything if they do massive fillers at that point.

it will be good time to build up for the confilct anyway in the anime, since the anime is fster paced than the manga, they woul've needed to add fillersto build suspense, whether they were catching up to themanga or not.

Heh, it's crazy that it's going to quickly blow pass that chapter though. We're currently starting chapter 252 for episode 152. By the time we reach the end of episode 155 it looks like we'll be on about chapter 267. That roughly rounds out to be 4 chapters an episode...so much for a decent pacing. I don't think catching up to the manga will be a problem, somehow I get the feeling this arc is drawing to a close. But I do expect another filler arc in the future.

Well, I personally dont think things are being rushed. I actually prefer this new pace. Why? because im tired of those Filler moments in these current episodes. It just makes every episode DRAG.

Slowing it down or adding more filler at this time is pointless. Isnt it obvious what this means, the HM arc(manga) is ending VERY soon. theres enough manga to cover them until the start of the new arc. Which means that you dont have to fear there being anymore filler moments between now and then... because at the point when the Anime catches up to the ending of the HM arc, expect another filler arc comparable to the bount arc.( i hope that made sense)

As for Ishida and Chad's ep, Those Manga chapters also Dragged. The Anime could easily eat up both their fights in one episode. about 13 or so minutes for each fight sounds just about right.

Oh and odds are, their fights wont even be completed in that ep. They might just wait for Rukia's stuff to finish before they conclude their fights.

Don't expect the rest of this arc to just go canon. Pierrot will likely sneak filler in here and there to cushion the pace.

Bleach is a hard show to adapt in that action chapters can very easily be sucked dry. And the only way to extend them is to add new material to the fights, which can be very difficult if not done EXTREMELY carefully. Sometimes a differently choreographed fight can hurt worse than a continuity error in dialogue, etc.

Gah, from the new episode titles, it seems that you're right that Rukia's fight with Aaroniero is going to get interrupted by Uryuu's fight. :o (And Chad's too.)

That would delay the conclusion to Rukia's fight with Aaroniero for nearly a month, 3 weeks at the very least. :eek:

That is, unless the animators decide to be even more ebil and somehow try to cram chapters 265-269 including Rukia's heartwarming flashback scene of training with Kaien and his "heart" speech (Chapters 268-beginning of 269, until she collapses after vowing to rescue Orihime, demand a full episode, IMO) into episode 155, and that's 5 chapters right there.

I'd much prefer it if they spread the chapters out, and ended 155 with chapter 267 and Rukia getting impaled by Nejibana. Gosh, I never thought I'd say that I'd prefer to see my favorite character get hurt. :nuts I would've said chapter 266, but from the preview it looks like Aaroniero's explaining his powers right before releasing Gluttoneria.

Now it really makes me wonder the real reason why the animators changed around the orders of the fights...

If fillers going to start in April, won't that mean the anime adaptation of the Hueco Mondo arc be changed? I mean, if the episode titles are confirmed, that would indicate after Ichigo's fight with Grimmjow, the canon storyline would be interrupted just after this event to make way for the filler.

I hope the studio will finish the entire Hueco Mondo arc first before diving into fillers though. Kubo better finish up the manga part of the current story fast...

Horrible? I'll give you that in the SS arc, they ate through many chapters and cut off A LOT of scenes, but the pace for this arc has been almost perfect. Any longer and it would began to lag, almost as much as Kubo's pace. They've even extended some of the fights, to make the episodes last longer. But just extending fights wont help here. The "horrible decisions" they do are based on how much content they have to work with.

Except this new idea filler is actually dumb cause it's interfering with Kubo's work. The new character is a Captain? o_O I dont mind fillers, just as long you dont change stuff. Unless Kubo's approved of this.?

Anyone can do great story progression with 20 pages or so. For over the last 50 chapters, only a few have had any. Instead, he chose to have fight after fight after fight. The last time something significant that happened with the story he paused that progression to fill it with more fights.

Sometimes I cant help but think that Kubo has dug himself into a hole and is trying desperately trying get out of it.

i am willing to wait it out if they make fillers only if that means they will take more time to make sure the quality of the canon stuff is at the highest possible level. especially for some of the upcoming fights and releases.

Mmm, maybe you're right there. I have yet to find any Japanese sources on the web for those titles. I have checked when I saw those titles, it seems that it's originated from some Bleach forum in the first place, which in turn says that that it found them on wiki.

However, episode 164 & 165 are real though. Perhaps they are going to go cliffhanger when Ichigo's about to start the fight with Grimmjow and then start the filler after that?

No, no, no, no, no NOE! I don't want to see Grimmjow on the verge of release, and perhaps even hear his gorgeous voice howl (Suwabe:love) and that be the end of it! No way:yell I've been dying to see those chapters animated and if they's gonna stick filler right into the interesting part...well, let's just say I'd not be amused.

Either finish the fight or don't start it at all, simple as that.

About who's fault this is; What and who's to blame here? No matter how you look at it, Studio Pierrot would need to put in filler anyhow, just when was/is the big question. Extending the forest menos arc would be smart and even making more filler episodes for hitsu and co. could help a bit, but seriously..they make the anime too fast^^

A Gaiden wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen. I'd like that more then the stories of the "new" Captain. That doesn't make sense in itself. No random new captain will come out of nowhere. Either way, it will still be horribly timed, unlike how it happened in Narruto. Lets just hope we get a confirmation that Kubo had some influence in it.

Yep, just saw it today. You're right, it says that this arc takes place in the present time. So Amagai Shuusuke is captain and Kifune Makoto is 3rd Seat of the 3rd division. I also found this, see below. Ichigo and the others back in real world?!

Thanks Weils for translating the end of the summary reminds of when Nel was first introduced:lmao, Since Rukia&Ichigo are in it I guess this takes place before the Bounto arc which would be messed up or after the Bounto arc which is much better. Unless they pull an alternate timeline on us and this takes place during when the Bounto arc took place it'd be :crazy if that happens.

I'm really looking forward to the upcoming filler episodes. I didn't really mind the Bounto arc but I do hope that those filler episodes will be better than the Bounto Arc. Flashback of Ichigo and Rukia during the Karakura days? Sounds good! I guess the studio wants to put Ichi and Rukia in the story as well assuming they're one of the most wanted popular characters of Bleach.. I hope Chad, Orihime and Ishida will be fighting too ^_^

The story better be good.. and I hope the characters aren't too OOC.. and the bad guys better be strong and cool-looking.. and a few subtle hints of romance..

If this Filler is going to concern a 3rd Division Captain replacement, that means it would have to take place sometime after Aizen and them left Soul Society for Hueco Mundo (obviously). Although this may seem like a pointless observation, I believe it brings up an interesting point.

Considering the Filler will contain Ichigo and Rukia in the real world, and will air after the Grimmjow fight, while Rukia and Ichigo are still very much in Hueco Mundo, logically it has to take place some time in between episode 63 and episode 143.

If that's the case, then when???

The big difference is that the current place in the mango is in the past and doesn't effect the current story. The upcoming fillers are not flashbacks and are moving and changing the story from what it currently is.

I think everyone is, perhaps, being a bit too cynical.

The bright side is that, while Filler, this is still new content. In addition, it will allow the manga to get ahead once again, as is completely necessary; this definitely breathes some new life into a series where the anime was running dangerously close to the manga.

Also, I think some of you may be forgetting Kubo's involvement with the anime itself. Considering the fact that he is highly involved with the anime, I wouldn't be concerned with it (or its ending) being derailed from the manga storyline, especially when you recall how closely the anime resembles the manga in Bleach's case. However, I remember these exact same concerns prior to the Bount Arc (and during it, for that matter).

P.S.: How many people think we should vote to ban the next person who says, "OMG THE NEW CAPTIN LUKS LIKE DRUNK URAHARA AND THE OTHER GUY LUKS LIKE GAY SZAYEL!!!111!!!"

Very odd filler arc design, but not too unexpected, as they were getting very close to the manga, and there's no good way to insert filler into the current arc that I see. It will be interesting to see how they do it.

I think that Bleach filler has actually not been too bad in the past, which is surprising, as in my mind Bleach isn't exactly a ripe universe for filler. It has a very limited set of possible antaganists, and many of them are closely tied up in the canon manga storyline and therefore they are difficult to use. Currently, the anime filler arcs have already used just about every possible type of villian at least once, so it will be interesting to see what they do.

I think they should have planned for this and extended the Bounto arc a bit further, perhaps putting in a bit more stuff regarding the cleanup in Soul Society. Or done a few more isolated incident segments. Actually, I'd be interested to see an 'alternate universe' filler done with the original manga pilot as a starting point. That would work quite well.

This reminds me of that lame and poorly drawn episode where Aizen had mutineering arrancars and Ulquiorra got "killed", but worse. At least they were able to work that back into the main story. This is veering pretty far away from center, which makes me think the fillers will be somewhat lengthy.

I think the fillers could work if you look at them like a movie. You know how movies take place somewhere in the series timeline, but they're not really canon. I think this could something like this, setting place somewhere between the Bount arc and the Arrancar arc.

I don't understand, why is the anime going into filler, there's still ground to cover in the manga, they should burn through that, then and only then should there be fillers.

At least they did it right with the bounto arc, Kariya was awesome, he was good enough to be canon, you know, a breathing period for Aizen to build up his army was really needed, it never really made sense to me how he could've created so many super arrancar so quickly?

I think instead of finding an awkward moment and interrupting the momentum building up in the Hueco Mundo Arc, the animators should have gone all the way to the flashback arc. Then, once the anime reaches the flashback arc, they could use the characters in the flashbacks and create several filler episodes using them. The fact that these fillers would occur 110 years before the current storyline would mean it would be very difficult for them to actually screw with the current storyline, sort of like how the Bounto Mod Souls have now integrated themselves in Bleach despite being filler. They could do things like a Soi fong and Yoruichi mission, or Shinji and Aizen going to kill Hollows or somethin
