Well I'd like to see or fight or find some way of making attack move that could hurt or immobilise the arrancar. She doesn't have to kick and slash to be an attack it could be some form of sheild barrier but instead of protecting it could be to enclose, or seal away.

Hachi did say to her that she couldn't fight the arrancar in the normal way (tsubaki I'm guessing) so she needs to find a way to stop them. This current chapter might be the start but then again Kubo does seem to like her playing the rescued damsel at the moment.

Which is why I have my doubt about Orihime fighting against Telsa. KT might just making Orihime the 'rescued damsel'. Who knows.

This arc is getting better, imo. I love guessing games. x3

May I join, please? Orihime is my favorite Bleach character. I voted yes in the poll because I think she will fight Tesla. She was going over to Ichigo when Tesla pushed her down to the ground. Orihime's "killing intent" manifests only when she wants to protect someone so I predict it's going to show up soon because Ichigo is hurt and at a disadvantage right now against Nnoitra.

i really think inoue will do something, because i can't see her just lying there for the rest of the ichigoXnnoi fight,and she definitely has shown before that doesn't just take things lying around, such as the makimaki incident in ss :D but she's also smart, so she's probably thinking of a way how to best get out of that situation, without adding to ichigo's problems at the moment. also, inoue didn't fight before against grimm because she knew that she'll just get in the way in the one on one fight and had to protect nell as well. i believe it wasn't because she couldn't but because it was the most logical thing for her to do at that time ^__^

Most stories are OOC for any character in fandom and they all seem to get stuck on certain stereotypes.

Take for example Naruto and Sasuke. They always use "hn" and "teme" at least 20 times in each chapter if they're in a story together. Then Sakura, if people don't like her, write her off in a story as being a complete whore. It's annoying at times. And plot lines in general are waaaay overused. Like the whole "sweet, innocent, good girl falls for the hot, sexy, arrogant badboy Rock Star." :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Or the infamous "he cheated on me so now I'm gonna go sleep with some random guy and fall in love with him" cliche. Meh.

I dunno about most IchiHime fics, but usually if they're the main couple, she might have the weird food stereotype (but that's actualy canon, so it's not technically a stereotype...) but she doesn't use "Kurosaki-kun" all the time. XD Or mabye I haven't read enough IchiHime fanfictions. :rotflmao Joyblue writes Ichigo and Orihime really well, in my opinion^_^ (and I'm her beta so I get to see all the stories before they're posted! hehehahaha! :D)

This is kinda random, but I thought about how I think Orihime's powers will get stronger, here they are.

Santen Kesshun- instead of being a large triangle it becomes like a circle, and because it it so much smaller the energy is denser and far stronger.

Soten Kishun- this move is strong enough

Koten Zanshun- Instead of being a projectile, orihime will hold onto Tsubaki and focus the shield into the shape of a sword.

I think it is funny how people think Orihime is stupid... but she's not. She was on the list of smartest people in her class and and just because she's ditzy doesn't mean she's stupid. So here I bring you my gift to Orihime on her wonderful birthday! :D A fanfiction! I'm not good with humor so please bare with me! I tried my best! And since ff.net isn't working I couldn't upload it there so this is the first place where I'm putting it in. I did this today (all of it) so if there are mistakes and all, forgive me! But I was trying to get it in before leaving to Disneyland. -.-

Warning: This is an Orihime fanfic but with Ichigo in it. Seeing as this is the Inoue Orihime and this fic has Orihime in it, I don't find anything wrong with posting it here. So if you don't like Ichigo and Orihime together, don't read. You've been warned. :)

Bunnies and Condoms

“For my birthday, I want to dress up as a bunny! The cute outfit that all the birthday girls are wearing.”

The whole classroom got quiet and just stared at Orihime after she was done speaking. The boys were especially eyeing her and picturing the brown haired girl in that bunny outfit all the girls were wearing for their birthdays.

“Why is Inoue going to wear that sexy outfit?”

Rukia turned to Ichigo when he asked the questions and smirked. “Because it’s her birthday and she can do what she wants.”

Orihime smiled at everyone and then waved. “Please come to my birthday celebration!”

Keigo nods along with other guys who are all drooling at the thought of seeing a bit more skin on Orihime. Ichigo notices that not only guys from their class are nodding but older guys from the other classes are peeping through the door and nodding. This irritates him and he turns to Rukia with a scowl.

“All the perverts from this whole school should just stay home and not go to Inoue’s birthday party.” He stuffs a book in his backpack and begins to zip it up, clearly annoyed.

Rukia just grins and leans in closer to him before speaking. “Then you won’t be going, Mister Closet Perv.” The dark haired girl steps away and resumes in packing her things with a “Ku Ku Ku”.

Ichigo glares at her, throwing his bag over his shoulder. “Shut up, idiot.”

Everyone, 99% of them being guys, were excited to see Orihime in her bunny outfit. So excited that right when the bell rang to signal the end of the school day, they all quickly ran over to the big breasted girl’s house to await this wonderful surprise!

By the time Ichigo got to Orihime’s house, it was five in the evening and the crowd in front of her apartment was huge! It reminded him of when Don Kanonji came over to film and people were excited to see their favorite hero live!

Ichigo just continued to scowl as he began making his way through the crowd. The gift he’d gotten her was being held tightly and Ichigo almost punched a guy when he tried to take it away from him. “Get your own present!” he yelled over the crowd, before pushing through some guys who were whistling and yelling out a few perverted things. The orange haired boy would have probably punched and beat the crap out of both boys if it hadn’t been for an interruption coming up from Orihime’s door.

Everyone got quiet and all eyes were on the door while holding their breath. Even Ichigo was like this clutching the bag so hard that his knuckles were now white.

Out stepped a fat rabbit! It was so fat that you couldn’t even see Orihime’s face. The rabbit then started dancing and waving its arms around while dancing to an imaginary song.

Loud groans of disappointment could be heard from the crowd and even Ichigo found himself feeling disappointed at the fact that this was the bunny suit Orihime was talking about. Everyone had been expecting too much sexy moments when Orihime had said, “Cute bunny suit!”

Mentally smacking himself, Ichigo shook his head and thought that he should have realized this was what Orihime meant when she said cute. Looking up, Ichigo found that the crowd was now diminishing and a large part of him was glad too. Who needed them for her birthday? With that, the boy continued his way up to his friend’s apartment.

Meanwhile, in Orihime’s apartment…

“Kuchiki-san, my breasts are going to pop out.” Orihime was regarding herself in her mirror while she tried hard to pull the top portion of the suit over her breasts. But since they were so big, they couldn’t cover all of them.

“Inoue, they’re perfect, right Renji?” With one hand on her hips, Rukia stepped back and surveyed her marvelous work

The fat rabbit stepped into the room and took off his head to reveal a sweaty red haired Shinigami. At the sight of Orihime, Renji’s face turns red and his jaw almost drops.

“Idiot! Don’t look at her!” Rukia yells, before grabbing a brush and throwing it over at him. “Turn around!”

He manages to miss the brush and quickly turns away. “You told me to look!” Not long after saying that, Renji throws the rabbit’s head and begins to stretch the suit away from his body. “Rukia, this suit smells!”

Orihime could do nothing but stare at Renji while Rukia continued to ‘fix’ her outfit and make her look like she was a seductress. At the sound of Renji’s complaint, Rukia straightened up and walked over to him. “Take it off, we’re done.”

“Kuchiki-san, why do I have to wear this?” Sure she’d wanted to wear a bunny suit, but the one she had in mind was being worn by Renji.

“Because it’s your birthday and you have to be sexy. Besides, there’s someone that wanted you to wear this.”

Renji looked over at Rukia and raised an eyebrow before realization dawned on him and he too had the same smirk that Rukia was now possessing.

Orihime looked from Rukia to Renji and back to Rukia before asking, “Really, who?”

At this, the short Shinigami smirked before grabbing Rabbit Renji and walking over to the window. With one final wave, they both jumped out and Orihime was left alone in her apartment.

Making her way over to the window, Orihime peered out and both of her friends were no where to be found. “Eh?”

A knock on the door came, grabbing Orihime’s attention so the girl went to answer it. Opening the door, Orihime found herself staring up at Ichigo.

“Kurosaki-kun!”

Ichigo’s eyes were wide and after quickly looking her over his face had a small tint of red. “Inoue! What happened to your other outfit?” Wasn’t she wearing that thing that looked like road kill?

“Oh, it ran out of the window.” Orihime stepped to the side and extended her arm to offer him to come in.

The substitute Shinigami stared at the girl for a moment more before looking out the window. It ran out of the window? He turned his attention back to Orihime who was looking very sexy. “Eh… Happy Birthday Inoue.” He holds out the present and tries his hardest to keep his gaze on her big brown eyes.

Orihime smiles and takes the present in her hands before peeking inside. Ichigo is pleased to know that she likes it but his expression changes into a shocked one when she pulls out a box of condoms.

“Thank you, Kurosaki-kun. Demo, why did you get me condoms?” Orihime looks up at him with a puzzled expression.

“WHAT!?” Ichigo snatches the bag back and looks inside to look for his present. When he doesn’t find it, Ichigo stares at the box of condoms before he glares at it. “Rukia!”

“Kuchiki-san?”

“So that’s what she was doing… that idiot,” he says through gritted teeth.

When Ichigo had come out of the shower in the morning, he’d found Rukia peeking into the bag that held his present for Orihime. He’d asked her what she was doing and Rukia had only chuckled evilly before saying she was only seeing what he’d gotten Orihime so that she wouldn’t get her the same thing. Now he knew what she had really been doing. How embarrassing, he thought, as he continued to eye the condoms.

Orihime looked up at him quizzically before smiling. “Thank you, Kurosaki-kun.” She then took the box of condoms and put them away in one of her drawers.

“Why are you keeping them?” Ichigo would have thrown them away or something because why would he keep condoms?

The girl shrugged before tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. “They’re a gift from Kurosaki-kun and well…” her cheeks became pink and she had to avert her gaze to the floor. “I might need them someday.”

His eyes widened and he stared at Orihime in a way that he couldn’t even explain himself. “Why would you need them?” was all that managed to come out of his mouth.

“For safe sex, of course!” Orihime laughed, filling the room with that cheerful atmosphere.

This seemed to bother Ichigo because he frowned and asked his next question with an angry tone. “Do you even have someone to do that with?” It was only after he asked the question that he realized what and how he’d asked it. Feeling ashamed, he shook his head and looked at Orihime in the eyes. “You don’t have to tell me. I didn’t mean to ask…”

Watching him closely with soft eyes, Orihime nodded and took a step towards him. “Kurosaki-kun, thank you very much.”

At this, Ichigo blinked and wondered what she’s thanking him for. “For what?”

“For being the Kurosaki-kun that I know.”

Ichigo smiled and shrugged. “Don’t thank me.”

The brown eyed girl smiled along with him before she took another step to hug him.

To him, this is very shocking so it took him a while before his arms eventually wrapped themselves around her.

The hug only lasted for a moment because Orihime pulled away with a sad expression on her face. “No one stayed to celebrate my birthday! I even baked a cake!” She crossed her arms over her chest making her breasts look like they’re right about to pop out from their hold.

Ichigo noticed this and immediately looked away only to look down at her hips, thighs. Mentally cursing himself, he looked away and observed that he was now looking at her kissable lips. His eyes dart from her lips over to the condom box where his face suddenly grows hot. “Inoue! Let’s just go out to eat. I’ll pay, there’s no need for us to stay here.” He swallowed back as much heat as he could and scratched the back of his neck.

Wondering if he was okay, Orihime nodded slightly. “Alright, let’s go.” She started to walk over to the door.

“Hey! What are you doing!?” Ichigo placed himself between Orihime and the door, blocking the door without noticing he was doing it.

Surprised, Orihime studied him before shrugging. “Eto… well you said we were going to go out to eat.”

“But you need to change! You can’t go out looking like that.”

The girl blinked before her expression turned into a horrified one. “Do I look bad?”

Ichigo ran a hand through his hair before shaking his head. “No, you look great and that’s the problem. Guys will get an eyeful if you go out like that. It’s best if you change.” After saying this, Ichigo moved his gaze over to the small table that was in the center of Orihime’s room.

Orihime isn’t stupid and slowly it dawns on her what is going on. Her heart skipped a beat before nodding. “Okay, I’ll go change.” She turned around and picked out a set of clothes before walking into the restroom to change.

When Orihime emerges, she finds that Ichigo is outside waiting for her. Closing the door behind her, Orihime stands beside Ichigo and looks up at him with a big smile. Ichigo feels that warm feeling in his chest and smiles back at her. “I’ll give you my real birthday gift tomorrow, okay?”

She continues to smile. “Okay, Kurosaki-kun.”

“Happy Birthday, Inoue.” He begins to walk down the stairs and suddenly stops when he feels his hand being taken by someone else. He looks down at his hand and sees Orihime’s hand with it. Looking up at her, his expression is a serious one but a surprised serious.

“Arigatou, Kurosaki-kun.” She smiles up at him and gently pulls him forward as she continues to walk down the stairs.

Ichigo resumes his walking and he feels himself smiling as he too goes down the stairs.

And together, they walk away holding hands.

I wrote a fanfiction... not really brilliant and I wish I'd drawn something now. Ah well I did heaps for the postcards so I was out of energy for drawing. Warning for those that don't like the couple it's IchiHime fluff.

Important Day

In the town of Karakura many teenagers where in a panic. It was two days before a very important day. It was almost time for the summer holidays to end and for them all to go back to school. For a certain 4 teenagers it was especially worrying. As they had spent most of their time in another dimension saving their friend from execution. Which was a very important reason but it would not be believable to any of their teachers.

Ishida had gone on his own to study. Chad had his own reasons, possibly as he had to catch up with his friends in his band. This left Orihime red faced with her pile of books scattered around the room and unable to believe who she was speaking to on the phone.

“Kurosaki-Kun! What's the matter! Are you sick?”

“Um...no...” The boy replied on he phone. “I was just wondering if I could come over.”

“C-c-come over?” Orihime pinched herself, yup she was still awake. “What for?”

“It's hard to explain...”

“...I wanna do it with you!”

“WHAT!” The girl cried almost fainting.

“No... Inoue that's not me... hold on!”

There was a rattle on the receiver and Orihime squeezed her ear next to the phone to listen better. She could here a scream and thumps. She could vaguely make out the voice of Ichigo and the other person she assumed was Ichigo's funny father.

'Pervert! Don't listen to your son's private phone calls, especially don't add lib your own lines!'

She could hear that clearly and it helped her calm down. She heard the clicking as the phone was picked up and a grumpy Ichigo answered.

“Sorry, Inoue. My Dad's a pain in the neck.” He huffed.

Orihime imagined how deep his frown was at that moment. He must look like he was about to burst like a giant balloon.

“Look, this house has been too loud since I got back. I can't study and you know we have all that homework.”

Orihime looked around the mess in her apartment. She knew perfectly well how much homework there was.

“Good idea, I can bake cookies!”Orihime said cheerfully.

“No, no I can bring something, I'm a guest after all I should bring a present.” Ichigo said quickly. He knew all to well Inoue's tastes were not normal. “What would you like to eat?”

“Hmmm... A loaf of bread would be good, a whole one without being cut!”

“Um, okay. Let's say I meet you in 2 hours.”

“2 hours!” Orihime almost felt herself jump through the roof.

“Is that too soon Inoue?”

“No, no, no it will be fine Kurosaki-Kun.” Orihime laughed nervously. “I just need to tidy my room a little it's a bit messy from all my study.”

“Oh okay, see you soon!”

“Bye-bye!”

She pressed the 'end call' button and fell backwards sighing. She felt happy that Ichigo was friendly enough to come over to visit. It was after all two days to go before they went back to school and the mountain of homework was handed in. Orihime imagined the mountain of books that stood before Ichigo and herself. They would climb this tall peeks, filling in all the problems effortlessly. Although in there was some danger, what if there was an avalanche? She would have to reach out to Ichigo as they ran down the mountain, the books falling down behind them.

“We won't die! Even if we have to live off paper for a week!” Orihime proclaimed as in her head they pair of them were buried under the books and trapped. This woke her up though and she desperately scrabbled to tidy up her apartment. She glanced at the calendar, tomorrow was circled with a heart. She wondered if Ichigo would notice. Orihime shook her head, she didn't want to put her hopes up. He probably wouldn't notice. She shouldn't expect too much from the phone call and she was going to celebrate with her friend Tatsuki so she wouldn't be lonely.

Orihime snapped to attention again, she was drifting off again! She rushed around the room and piled up her books in some kind of order. Also she quickly picked up any intimate laundry that she really didn't want to be spotted. I mean that would lead to an embarrassing situation! The girl found herself lost in another daydream unaware at how fast the time was passing.

The young boy walking down the street with a school bag and a small carrier bag of baked goods. The large french loaf sticking out of the bag was very noticeable. Ichigo wondered if it was the right kind but frowned at himself for worrying. He was sure whatever he gave to the ever cheerful Orihime she would be grateful and accept it. Even if it wasn't right she would just smile and take it. He had noticed she had that kind of personality. She always accepted the strange and perverted gifts from that lesbian (whatever her name was he couldn't remember) so he was sure she would like the loaf.

He wasn't even sure why he was really going to Orihime's to study. There was Chad but he hadn't answered his phone, same for Mizuiro. There was no way in hell he was calling Keigo. The looser was probably proud that he hadn't done his summer homework. This left either Ishida, Tatsuki or Orihime. Before he knew it he had called her. His hands seemed to know where to look for her number and he had dialed. That had been it, so simple but he wondered why it made his heart beat that little bit faster. He didn't understand and didn't want to dwell on it. There was too much in his life to sit and think about emotions, there was a war coming soon and he had to be ready for it.

He rang the doorbell a couple of times and waited. There was a crashing noise inside the house and Ichigo instinctively barged in. Inoue was on the floor with a wash-basket filled with what looked to Ichigo to be underwear. His face went red and he mutter “excuse me” closing the door. There was another crashing noise and a high pitched squeal.

Then Orihime opened the door read faced, “I'm so sorry Kurosaki-Kun! You're early!”

“Uh...Inoue...” Ichigo stood looking at the girl and pointed, unable to form the words he wanted to say.

“What's wrong? Do I have some crumbs on my face from eating? I'm a messy eater, so just come in...” Orihime said in a panic waving for him to enter.

Ichigo shook his head, how could he say this without embarrassing her any further. A part of him wondered why girls were so complicated. He never had this flustered feeling when talking to Rukia or Tatsuki.

“On your head...” He gasped as he continued to point. “...flower...”

“What I have a flower growing out of my head!” Orihime shouted alarmed.

Ichigo shook his head, “Flower panties...”

Orihime had found the stray pair of panties and slammed the door shut with another scream. Ichigo breathed relieved he had managed to say it. He was slightly wondering if he should turn back now and brave studying at home. His Dad had been really happy and energetic when he got back. There was no way he would have enough quiet study time.

The door opened again and Orihime bowed down, “I'm so sorry Kurosaki-Kun. Please come in... I tried my best to get rid of all the girly things that you shouldn't see.”

“Ah, let's not mention it.” Ichigo coughed. He made up his mind, this was better than his Dad's random flying kicks and harassment. He handed over his gift of food. The french stick loaf was pulled out and Orihime smiled.

“Thank you this was just what I was wanted to buy today!”

“Was it?”

“Well it is now!” Orihime said, she lead Ichigo into the main room which seemed to be the dining room and living room combined. It was such a small apartment. Ichigo sat down at the table were there was a space for his books. Orihime's was opposite and seemed to be piled up in two columns.

“Which ones have you finished?” Ichigo asked.

“Mostly the English and Math, get the most difficult out the way first.” Orihime said.

“I've done the opposite, easy first.” Ichigo said. “But then I like English so I've finished it just before I came.” He took out his books and piled them up.

“I was going to start on science next.” Orihime said.

Ichigo nodded and picked up the book. “If there's anything either of us are stuck on we should just say.”

“Agreed, but lets do it all by ourselves. I don't want to cheat!”

Ichigo smiled and settled down to a quiet study. After all the embarrassment at the start, it was feeling more comfortable. He took a sip from the green tea that was placed next to him by Orihime and continued. They passed a few hours silently together, every now and then asking a question or checking if the other got the same answer. It reminded Ichigo that despite her ditsy appearance Orihime was actually quite smart. She was ranked third in his year so it was interesting watching her study. She seemed to prefer holding the bread stick in her mouth while she did her homework but there she was obviously thinking quite deeply.

As the town bells chimed 5 o' clock Orihime stood up and stretched. “Shall we take a break Kurosaki-Kun?” Orihime asked.

“Actually, I should go I've got most of it done now.”

“Really?” She sounded a bit disappointed.

“Where's the toilet? I need to go.”

“It's the third door on the right, you need to give the flush a firm pull but not too hard or it'll come off.”

“Okay,” Ichigo nodded unsure if he got the instructions, as he went he noticed the calender and wondered for a moment why there was a heart around the third of September. Wasn't school suppose to be back on the fourth? He shrugged and decided to ask her when he got back.

Orihime watched him go delighted with how everything had went. True the start could have been done a lot smoother. If she hadn't been daydreaming so much she would have tidied up her laundry in time and wouldn't have been caught with panties on her head. She took out the cakes that Ichigo had brought and put them down on a plate. At least she could give him a snack before he left.

As he came back Ichigo remembered the calender and pointed at it. “Hey, Inoue, you know school starts again on the fourth?”

“Uh...Yeah.” Orihime replied. 'Wait, he did notice the heart!'

“So why is the third circled like this?”

“Oh it's because the third of September is a very important day. Something very important is going to happen on that day.”

“What?”

“Ah... I can't say, it's embarrassing,” Orihime muttered.

Ichigo looked away and rubbed the back of his head. He had caused enough embarrassment for one day. He didn't want to push it.

“Please, try the cake you brought! You'll need some energy after all that studying.”

“Yeah, just one more day left after this.” Ichigo said, glad of the change of subject.

“If you want you can come over again tomorrow, Kurosaki-Kun.” Orihime said almost swallowing her heart.

“But isn't tomorrow an important day for you?”

“It'll be okay, if you come over for the afternoon. I need to go to Tatsuki's for dinner but I'm free in the afternoon.”

“Oh I see.”

“It would make me happy to finally finish this work and you're a good study partner Kurosaki-Kun.” Orihime stabbed her cake and ate a big chunk almost choking on it. She coughed a little and tried to keep her smile. She couldn't let her emotions show too much, she didn't want to seem desperate. If anything she wanted to be cool, like a cat. She wondered if she could ask Yoruichi about her ability in turning into a cat. Orihime imagined herself as an orange tabby trying to lean against the wall and made a cool wink to Ichigo.

“Inoue! Wake up!” Ichigo shouted shaking her shoulders.

“Meow!” Orihime answered.

“Inoue!”

“Oh... sorry Kurosaki-Kun.” Orihime laughed. “Oh you've finished your cake, would you like more tea? I'm being a terrible host, daydreaming while I have a guest. I always get told off by Tatsuki as well.”

“That's okay Inoue.”Ichigo said putting his books into his bag. “I'll have to get back home soon anyway. It will be getting dark and my Dad will be a big pain if I'm late for dinner.”

“I understand.” Orihime said smiling. 'It's nice he has a family that cares for him.' “You'll still come tomorrow at 2 o' clock right?”

“Yeah, though I think I might try to finish some of the books tonight.” Ichigo said. “But don't worry I won't finish it all, there's still too much.”

“Yeah, there's so much there can cause an avalanche, learning nowadays is dangerous.” Orihime agreed. (In her own way.)

“Um... what would you like to eat tomorrow, more bread?”

“Ah! It has to be DORAYAKI!!” Orihime said her finger pointing in the air. “If you're going to the bakers be sure to buy lots of dorayaki!”

“Pancakes with sweet bean paste inside?” Ichigo asked, checking he had heard right.

“Yes, lots and lots of dorayaki!” Orihime said. “Don't worry I'm buying some tomorrow as well so you don't need hundreds, maybe ten from you would be enough.”

“Only dorayaki?”

Orihime smiled and nodded again. Ichigo couldn't argue with that smile and got up to left. As he said goodbye and Orihime chatted about whatever was in her head; he couldn't but look at the calender again. It had to be something to do with her brother. He decided he'd have to ask someone that knew as it was obvious Orihime didn't want to say. He wasn't even sure why she had invited him over again if it was a special day for her.

It bothered Ichigo most of the way home and in frustration as he didn't want to cause more embarrassment tomorrow he called the only person that would know.

“What do you want Ichigo?” Tatsuki asked annoyed. “I'm busy just now and I haven't done my homework so don't ask for study help!”

“Oh, you haven't done the homework?” Ichigo asked amazed.

“No, I've got a great excuse but I'm not telling you, you might steal my idea.”

“If you must know I'm almost finished.” Ichigo bluntly shot back. “I would think you would be asking me for help.”

Tatsuki snorted, “Whatever, what do you really want?”

“What's important about tomorrow?” Ichigo asked.

“Why are you asking?” Tatsuki asked back cautiously.

“I was studying with Orihime today...” He heard a choking noise on the phone. “Oi! Nothing like that!”

“You sure it wasn't a date?!”

“NO! Damn it! Why is everyone making such a big deal about this! I just went to Orihime's house as it's the quietest place I could think of to study!”

“Can I ask you something personal?” Tatsuki said seriously.

“What?” Ichigo asked suspiciously.

“Do you find men attractive?”

“Huh? NO!” Ichigo yelled. “I am not gay!”

“Are you sure?” Tatsuki questioned. “You went over to Orihime's place and didn't do anything, just study?”

“Yes, why would I do anything?” Ichigo said. “We studied, ate cake and I went home!”

'I swear he's gay...' Tatsuki swore under her breath. “Listen idiot, I will only say this once. Tomorrow is an important day as that lovely girl, with a big chest, hope you noticed, was born on that day.”

“What?” Ichigo was confused, what did her chest have to do with anything. He wondered if Tatsuki was the real gay person.

“Tomorrow is Orihime's birthday!” Tatsuki said. “She's coming over for dinner because goodness knows what she would eat to celebrate.”

“Dorayaki.” Ichigo answered. It all made sense now.

“Huh?”

“Nothing, look thanks Tatsuki I didn't know and Orihime didn't want to tell me for some reason.”

“She probably doesn't want a big fuss.” Tatsuki sighed. “Listen just turn up and say 'happy birthday'. You don't need to worry about a present if you turn up at her house on her birthday that will be enough.”

“You're not making sense.” Ichigo said. “Thanks anyway Tatsuki.”

“Bye, see you at school.”

“Yeah,” Ichigo hung up the phone. Well that was one mystery cleared up but whether he could figure out the larger mystery of Orihime's mind was a different question.

The third of September came and there was no fireworks or big announcements as there should have been. The news was quiet and Orihime wondered if people in the rest of Japan had forgotten. Orihime just shrugged and made a pile of books that she had still to finish. This time it would be perfect. All her underwear was safely in her bedroom and not on her head. It was all clear of possible bad moments. She glanced at the clock it was almost one and she had to get to the bakers for the dorayaki. She was sure, this would be a lucky birthday. Not just for her but for the special person who shared it with her.

At 2 o' clock exactly on time the doorbell rang and Orihime tried to calmly walk to the door. She ran last time in a rush to finish putting away her laundry and it ending in disaster. She opened her door with a big smile and saw the frowning face of her many dreams.

“Afternoon Kurosaki-Kun!”

“Afternoon Inoue... Happy Birthday.” Ichigo gave her the bag of from the bakers.

“Ah! Thank you!” Orihime smiled. “How did you find out?”

“I asked Tatsuki,” Ichigo admitted and entered the house. He looked at the table there was the same pile of books but there was also a stuffed toy sitting on the table. He went to move it but Orihime almost pounced on him. She stopped just in time and settled for grabbing the toy.

“Ah don't Kurosaki-Kun! This our guest of honour!”

“Inoue... it's a toy...”

Orihime looked heartbroken. “How can you say that Kurosaki-Kun! This is Doraemon!”

“I know who he is.” Ichigo said.

“But it's his important day!”

“Huh?”

“Don't you know?”

Ichigo shook his head. He obviously wasn't anywhere near understanding Orihime.

“On September the third in the year 2112 Doraemon will be manufactured!” Orihime stated and she continued with her story. “So every year My brother and I would always celebrate our birthdays! I share a birthday with Doraemon, I was so happy when I learnt we shared the same day. He's like my twin robot cat brother from the future. And we share the same taste in food! He loves sweet bean paste as well, especially dorayaki! That's why we have to eat dorayaki to celebrate his birthday or to be more accurate his future manufacture date!”

Ichigo smiled. He let out a small laugh and pulled out a pancake from the bag. He passed one to Orihime and placed one next to the stuffed robot cat. He then raised a dorayaki, “Happy birthday to both of you.” He said.

Orihime laughed and bit into the pancake. There was still a lot of homework to be done but for now it was all just as perfect as she imagined. Ichigo understood the importance of this day. She placed a kiss on her Doraemon toy and munched on her pancake. Ichigo gave an unaware jealous look to the stuffed toy but Orihime was laughing and that distracted him from realising. They shared a little about their favourite Doraemon moment in the cartoons and eventually returned to the forgotten homework.

Ichigo wondered how little by little, he was slowly getting to understand the great mystery of Orihime Inoue. He was sure that from now on he would remember this very important day.

According to Kubo's timeline....Orihime is past fifteen....nothing more/nothing less. Only fifteen years old students get to be in high school first year. Sixteen years old are in the second year high school....and 17 would be in their third year high school.

dear Manchan, you are right that Japanese schools start in the Spring. They have three terms and the first ends before a summer vacation of two months.
So the Bleach kids are technically in their first year still.

But you are wrong in that Japanese students who are 16 have to be in second year. They turn sixteen as in Kubo's story. Ichigo turned 16 in July and Orihime is already 16 in the story.

Japanese high schools last three years.

There are five stages in the Japanese education system: Kindergarten (age 3-6), Elementary School (age 6-12 ), Junior High School (age 12-15 ), Senior High School (age 15-18), College or University.

Depending on how you get into the school, as in what year you get in. Always believe that before you reach your birthday on that year.....you will be considered as about to be 15 years old. Only after you reach your birthday....you are officially 15 years old, going to 16.

Orihime and Ichigo are both smart students(3rd rank, and 23th rank).....it's hard to believe that they stay another year to repeat their lessons.

Orihime, Ichigo and Ishida are 15 years old....in first-year class in high school. When Ishida reaches 6th November...he's officially 15 years old too....

Oh, so... uhm... You mean, at the start of the new year, since there seems to be that thing where Japanese people (it was the Japanese, right?) celebrate their birthdays during New Year, the Bleach characters will turn 17 after the Winter War? Is that it?

So, uh, that October 3-thing you mentioned... was that an October 3 during Bleach timeline or October 3, 2007? (wow, I'm just messing things up, haha! Sorry!)

Also, I wasn't aware that they were at the end of their freshman year. I thought they were at the start of it (going by the Spring thing everyone's been saying). Or do you mean at the end of the first term during their freshman year?

Orihime, Ichigo and Ishida are 15 years old....in first-year class in high school. When Ishida reaches 6th November...he's officially 15 years old too....
But I thought you said only people of 15-years of age get to be first year highschool? If they're NOT officially 15, then wouldn't that mean they started early?

Depending on how you get into the school, as in what year you get in. Always believe that before you reach your birthday on that year.....you will be considered as about to be 15 years old. Only after you reach your birthday....you are officially 15 years old, going to 16.

Orihime and Ichigo are both smart students(3rd rank, and 23th rank).....it's hard to believe that they stay another year to repeat their lessons.

The first term of high school in Japan is from April to mid-July, so Ichigo and co. are in their first term in high school when Ichigo first becomes a shinigami (as Ishida says that Ichigo got his shinigami powers in mid-May) The 2nd term is from September to Decemeber, and the 3rd (and last) term is from January to March.

Ichigo and co. are in their 2nd term of their first year of high school.

Ishida could still be 15, as we don't know the current date in Karakura. We do know, however, that it has to be at least October, as they have all spent a month of training.

No, I think debbiechan means that if the winter war is in December of 2007, everyone is 16. In 2008, they will all turn 17 on their respected birthdates.

Hmm... Japanese school systems are confusing. So glad I work in a private language school. I feel sorry for the elementary kids that are born in December, they are always the last to turn the same age as the rest of their class. A bit of sympathy from me as I was one of those kids in the UK. It's a big age gap when they're that young, doesn't seem to matter so much in High school.

It would be such a pain if after all this debating, Kubo forgot about the birthdays and made Ichigo or Orihime say they're 15. >_< Really hope that doesn't happen.

October 3 is indeed a typo if I was referring to Hime's birthday. I don't have the patience to go back and read over all the posts and respond in detail. All you's--go do your own googling.

MzD, I doubt that KT would forget how old he made his characters. It's more of a Western comic thing to have characters stay one age forever--the timeline in Bleach seems pretty easy enough for people to follow, although it made me go ? at first and I was VERY confused about the concept of summer vacation. Although, now that I think of it--every summer vacation would be Tanabata and Ichigo could go have another adventure somewhere and turn another year older! That could keep the manga going for decades....

I am really looking forward to the confession scene in Episode 41. I wonder what music the animators will chose? I don't want anything that would detract from the powerful impact of Orihime's words. Her declaration of "five lives, one love" is really touching and so romantic.

In the coming episodes we'll begin getting into the whole rescuing Inoue arc so I'm glad it's her time to shine in the anime. :) I'm glad too 'cause I want to see a few moments that have her in 'em to be animated. Finally I'll get to see my FAVORITE Bleach character in the anime. :)

It's great that they're going to do a full episode on 237 but I'm a bit worried about what filler they will include to extend it. I think we'll have the mod souls caring for the injured Ikkaku instead of Tesla and Ururu.

There will definitely be lots of comedy moments, maybe more from the vizards. It's the most important scene for Orihime so I hope the animation does it justice.

I don't see anything wrong with blasting IchiHime elements in here. especially with the onset of IchiHime stuffs. Orihime fans, true Orihime fans would want Orihime to be happy, and if Orihime is happy with being with Ichigo around, true Orihime fans wouldn't mind the gooly, sorry drooly, no gooly eyes at current and incoming IchiHime scenes. Not criticize at Orihime for being weak with Ichigo around.

I'm sure that when the time comes where scenes that imply Kubo's hidden agenda to pair Orihime up with other Bleach males (for instance Aizen Sousuke, Ulquiorra, Grimmjaw, Noittora, Tatsuki or Ishida).....there will be fans who support that other Bleach Orihime pairing will come squealing with that 'I tell you so!'

That is if that time comes.......

I think at this moment Orihime will probably react the same as Ichigo, just complete shock and unable to speak.

It would be cute if Orihime still called Nel, "Nel-Chan" but I think that's inappropriate now. Maybe she'll change it to saying "Nel-San" instead. I think it's also important whose side Nel is now on. If she still believes in Aizen she might only want to help Ichigo so he isn't killed and throw him out of HM. I think Orihime will react to Nel just as kindly, even if she turns bad. (Which I don't want, really want there to be an Espada on the Ichigo's side.)

It would be cute if she did continue to use Nel-Chan when she says her name. I actually wonder how Nel will react to Orihime now. We know Nel observed how Ichigo was going through all this pain in the hollow transformation and told Orihime off for being scared. I think next time she tells Orihime off for being like that she's going to kick her ass as well. Poor Hime!

@Rain: That's true if Nel is interested in Ichigo romantically it's going to cause Orihime more problems with her confidence later on. She has a good habit of hiding her emotions with a care free smile but we get to see her sad face when she's alone.

I think Orihime will be more fascinated by Nel, more than anything. I mean, it's not often that you meet a little kid, only to find out that they're a hot chick later on. XD

But anyways, Orihime will probably start to call her Nel-chan, but then realize her mistake and then correct herself by calling her Nel-san. :p

If Nel were to have more interaction with Ichigo, I would imagine that Orihime would feel a little more left out on the inside, but would cover it up as much as possible. But it would be curious to see if Orihime would finally snap after enduring so much internal pressure. At this point, I don't think that she actually would, but you never know. ;p

Hmm... I don't really think Orihime will change her treatment of Nel due to something like that. Even if Nel does feel romantic feelings for Ichigo, for example, Orihime's reaction due to her jealousy of Rukia shows that she hates feeling that way and would probably not want to feel that way again.

Randomly, I know that shipper bias will figure into this but I always thought that Orihime's jealousy was born from Rukia's ease/connection with Ichigo and not neccessarily anything romantic. Then again, that's not the question to answer right now, hehe.

Anyways, I don't think Orihime would think Nel has feelings for Ichigo and vice versa... if Orihime were to get jealous/upset/sad I think it would be for the fact that she, herself couldn't/wasn't able to do something to save/help/protect Ichigo.

Orihime doesn't compete, period. She's not competitive. If she really wanted to get Ichigo's attention the way most 15-16 girls do, she would've take Tatsuki's advice. She's not exactly proactive in any way. People complain about her offensive battle skills being not used, but Orihime doesn't use her feminine wiles either--it's one of the things that makes her so child-like and endearing.

I don't idealize Orihime. She gets jealous. She said so. For whatever reason--call it romantic or what--she's jealous of Rukia. A totally selfless person would just be glad that someone could kick some sense into Ichigo--she's not selfless. She's human. She was sorry she wasn't the one to be able to inspire Ichigo then. Kubo hasn't shown us so far.

And Nel being the one to save Ichigo? She'll be glad, sure. But I hope that Nel's chutzpah inspires Orihime to take some action on her own. I don't care if its confessing to Ichigo (which I don't want to see--I don't ship IchiOri and I've seen the confession done once--in my PERSONAL view, it would be too much shoujo awkwardness), shooting Tsukaki through Tesla's brain or being more supportive of Ichigo's fighting and Hollow persona. All these things (probably all three in unison) are necessary for her character development. She's lost and afraid now--literally pinned by the shoulders, and I can't wait for Kubo to let her fly.

What I'm looking forward to is a Nel-Orihime friendship. I always thought they'd hit it off--not as Hime mother-Nel child, though--I never bought that. I'm glad that Nel so far has been a mentor to Orihime... Orihime needs those... she doesn't have a mother and Matsumoto was only there for her that one night. I think Nel can be a great mentor.

That's the Orihime that people miss. The one who makes a joke and imitates Ichigo''s grumpy face and goes "go for it!" Before Soul Society, Orihime was a winning child who didn't understand love (the more the merrier, she implied at that lunch scene when she was hoping Rukia would like Ichigo).Then during SS she started to doubt her abilities (getting Tsubaki burned was the beginning of it--seeing Ishida with his glove got her going "what did I do in those 7 days). By the time the HM started, she didn't think "the more the merrier" was fun--she was jealous of Rukia, and her self-esteem (with no help from Mr. Meanie Urahara) was at an all time low.

No one doubts Orihime can do it. The frustrating part for some of us is that she won't (or Kubo's saving the big reveal and prolonging the suspense).

Orihime needs to realize that she can do it because she did it before. I mean it's not only her love for Ichigo bringing her down... but people like to blame it all on that. It's also because she wants to get stronger because in the SS arc, she realized that she was just in the way. I mean... she even kicked ass when she first got her powers. Now.. that she's down on herself.. it's only naturally her powers were doing to crap out too. I really want to know what Orihime gainned in those two months of trainning with Rukia. I hate that KT is making us wait. We have to WAIT longer because it seems like that Nel took the show ;__;

yeah, I wasn't happy when Nel upstaged Hime for her birthday but I love Nel so this is better than an extended Szayel clones fight, I guess. On the optimistic side, it does look like Nel's going to one-two punch Nnoitra.

I don't think it's Orihime's turn to shine yet. Which is a shame I want to see her Tsubaki in action. Although once she does take action as stated by Tessla she's going to be their enemy and they will destroy her hairpins. Aizen order sounds like a small boy's thinking. "If I can't have the powers then no-one will have it" *smash*

@Mz D: It is sad that it isn't her time to shine yet but I agree that her time is yet to come. I thought it was her turn but Kubo just goes and puts the spotlight on someone else and we're left hanging and wondering when it will be her turn, you know? But with the fact that all we're shown of Orihime's power improvement is the whole bringing back from nothing with her regeneration/spacial shield (i'm too lazy to look up the name...) and how much stronger her protection shield as gotten suggests (at least to me) that her other power with Tsubaki will be powerful as well. Who knows, perhaps she's managed to attain a new power that has all six of the fairies combined. :D

And I think Aizen only said that to keep Orihime in her place. Why would he destroy what he wants? I know it might be for the whole 'he can't have what I can't' and stuff but to me that would be stupid to destroy what you want. So I just find it as a way to keep Orihime scared and in place.
