I generally listen to the newest charts, but I don´t like everything.

If it´s a nice song and I like it, it doesn´t matter if it´s R´n B, hip hop or pop.

But currently I mainly listen to rocky music, new metal etc.
I like it when the song is uptempo, with loads of e-guitar and bass-guitar riffs! :-)

it's not really about genre, it's more the importance that people gives to hip hop and in my opinion hip hop is a bad culture.

Well sorry to sound like an a$$, but the hip hop your referring to is the "rap" division that all these "pop stations" play 30 times an hour that have no real meaning. Real hip hop from back in the day actually stood for everyday culture and real life.

Unfortunantly the sad truth is hip hop has become so corrupt by all these "white ppl pop music stations" (sry for that, lol) that everybody that doesnt truly understand the history of the true hip hop community and culture thinks that its all about b*tches and money.

It disgusts me to think that these "radio DJ's" (not that they're real DJ's anyway) would corrupt an entire music genre and an entire community of people playing "rap" music. Hip hop used to be about the everyday struggle to make an impression and suceed in this harsh world, and that sometimes you have to rise up and take control or you'll just be another pawn for "The Man" to have as a puppet.

It is an INSULT and a huge slap in the face to the true hip hop artists like Russel Simmons, and Rev Run...

Notice I say "rap" since I do not classify "rap" as a part of hip hop...thank you all who actually read this and good night!

There does exist good rap music. No matter what genre, as long as people are passionate and talented at what they do...pouring their souls into their music, then I will enjoy it. I just hate the bullcrap "look at me I'm so filthy rich and gangsta" type of rap. Probably because I hate people who are full of themselves...That radio rap really is garbage, it's just manufactured in a studio to make more money. I can't really name that many good groups/rappers off the top of my head, but lately I'm getting into N.E.R.D, who actually have a lot of talent.

Currently my favorite genre is Ska, but I'm a huge fan of punk rock and rock music in general. The general hard rock genre has taken a downward turn in the last couple of years, but ska is making a comeback, maybe this is the turning point of where music becomes good again, like in the 90s. As long as there's not a grunge revival, grunge had its time, and all attempts at grunge revival have been pretty bad

I like lots of genres...

In english, I tend to listen to rock, accoustic, metal, alternative and pretty much anything that's similar to it... Not too much into the pop/rap/r&b, though some aren't too bad (for example i think outkast is quite good). I also tend to stay clear from the new wave or "crap/emo rock"... which i really don't like >__>;

when listening to asian music, It's pretty much the same (though i haven't seen much asian metal... ) except that I'm much more into pop... but accoustic/rock still has the top place. I also discovered some nice rap/r&b like m-flo and Miliyah (not much of a r&b fan but i really love her music xD) Oddly enough, most japanese artists I listen to are female?? O_o (there are some exceptions of course...)

What puts you off R&B?

Regarding country, I generally dislike it yet I listen to Eagles who have some country rock songs and Bon Jovi who has some country songs nowadays so I'm being more partial to it now. Not pure pure country, just rock/pop + country:p

The "Crap Hop"/"Gangster pop"/"sounds like a nursery rhyme" garbage your referring to is the current commercialization of Hip-Hop culture and music which is giving true hip hop music a bad rep.
