This is the only Rukia pairing I love/adore/support/ect. For some reason, Rukia/Crack pairing guy just doesn't work for me. O.o; Their history together is inspiring, and I wish Renji would just get to it and tell the girl he loves how he feels. ^_^

Ohh I want to join. I love Renruki Love! Syn great header^_^ By the way Dice, I don't think Renruki is an angsty love at all. If possible could we change it to childhood love or maybe nerver ending love. I don't know maybe it's just my opinion, but I would definitely not call the pair angsty. More of beautiful, mature, and absolutely squee worthy love!

Hello! I'd like to join please, seeing that Renji/Rukia is my OTP of OTPs... even over other ships in other fandoms.

Do you mind if I start up a discussion? I'm curious as to everyone's reasons for liking this ship, I have my own, obviously, but I always like hearing others, especially since sometimes someone else's perspective can shed some new light for an individual.

Renji and Rukia have a relationship that never got weak, even after 40 years of separation. Somehow they still manage to be comfortable with each other to the point hat they can still poke fun at one another. That shows to me that whatever they have is incredibly enduring, even despite their own issues in regards to their perception of their relationship, ie neither Renji nor Rukia think that they are 'Good Enough' for the other, for whatever reason. (Renji has to do with social class, Rukia with division ranking and power level...)

Additionally, they're a pretty multi-faceted pair. There was a fic I read a long time ago that illustrated it perfectly; it went from being mildly angsty, to fairly fluffy, to rather funny and then just out-right schmoopy... with a nice snog to bring it home. They have a well-rounded relationship that I think is fairly realistic; they understand and support each other when possible but have fun with and at each other's expense.

And you know, it's incredibly kinky and my love of puns doesn't help in the slightest bit. XD;

My most favorite thing about this pairing is how comfortable they are around each other. That and just how they touch! Love how Kubo draws Renji's hand when he touches Rukia, or holds her. And I love how she lets him and doesn't mind one bit. Yeah, love that!

Ah, the reason why I like RenRuki... it's because it's so similar to IchiRuki. And the very reason why they aren't my OTP is because I think that Renji messed up a lot of things that I can't forgive him completely. I still think that if IchiRuki were to never happen, RenRuki would probably be the best option for Rukia.
Although, I must say that Kubo has been quite cruel to RenRuki since ch173. They never had a moment together and Renji seems to fade away in the second brother's place. I guess that's also why I put this sentence on the header; because truthfully, I have the impression that it's always the same funk, with Renji 'barking' at Rukia.

I love how you put this, Syn. I adore this relationship, and felt bad for Renji when he messed up, but I'm glad he redeemed himself in the end. Though the metaphor may still hold true that he could not reach the star that is Rukia, their relationship is still equal on many grounds and it's still fun to watch their dynamics now and then.

Although, I must say that Kubo has been quite cruel to RenRuki since ch173.Sorry, but I'd have to disagree with that statement completely; RenRuki has consistantly been peppered in but not focused on for good reason, as neither are leading characters but are still important characters to the plot. KT has been cruel to Renji certainly but in ways that don't concern Rukia that much. (Pitting him against an Espada that blocked off his bankai?)

Also, Renji puts Rukia on a pedestal; no one else compares her in his mind, from my interpretation at least. This is why it's hard for me to ship him with anyone else because... all of those people would be second best and most people can't deal with that sort of a relationship. That's why he's a dog that barks at a star; not because she's unattainable, but because he feels she is.

MMh, I think that Renji feels that she is unattainable. That's the feeling I got while reading his fight with Byakuya, but also in all his actions with her. And that's because he thinks that she is above everyone else; the first feeling being the consequence of the latter.

When I say 'Kubo has been quite cruel with RenRuki' it is in the sense that Renji and Rukia never had a moment together like Ichigo and Rukia had. Everytime they were together, Rukia ended up focused solely and intently on Ichigo; that is why I say this. Kubo is a master; he could develop RenRuki plenty since the end of the SS arc but chose not to. I still like them, but that's still something that I noticed.

Note: let's try keep the IchixRuki comparisons out of this FC as much as possible. Some people don't agree on the status of the IchixRuki relationship or IchixRuki moments so are clearly not going to have the same views therefore constantly comparing it to this is only going to cause friction. I understand you defending your statement Syn so I'm going to leave it but let's keep that in mind.

After all, as my co-owner Jaimie said, their relationship has been filled with missed chances and a lot of angst. The forty year separation, Renji becoming VC right before Rukia left to her fateful encounter with Ichigo, and Renji being helpless to save her (until Ichigo knocked some sense into him).

Well maybe it's a difference in the way we interpret the relationship that leaves us at a disagreement. Yes I agree as you and Jaimie stated, Renji did mess up. But I disagree, I don't believe Renji missed his chance. I think that their relationship was not redeemed by Ichigo, but by Renji himself. Renji made the mistake of letting go of Rukia, and he fixed it.

Like I stated, before somewhere, I love RenRuki, because their love is beautiful and in my opinion mature.Like both you and Nocturne have stated, they are so comfortable with eachother, hence everytime they are together they just must tuch eachother.I also completely love their tagteams. Only when he saw Ichigo's resolve to save her, and go against odds, did Renji finally find the motivation to go save Rukia.

I said Ichigo was the catalyst, but I never said that Renji's resolve wasn't amazing on his own. He worked damn hard to save Rukia, even going up against Byakuya, someone he respected, to save her.

Anyway, I am the owner of the FC. Once again, thank you for your input, but we highly disagree and therefore the name still stands. ^________^

Well he let her go during the academy days, which was a huge mistake. That was 40 years of uneeded separation.

All during that time he could have made the effort to speak to her, if he had understood that Rukia didn't care about rank or status, she only needed normality -which Kaien Shiba gave her.

He also missed his chance right before she went to the real world to speak to her. Ikkaku encouraged him in Side B to go talk to her right after he received his promotion to vice-captain, but he waited again and as a result she got tangled up with the events in the real world.

Some would argue that Ichigo had to defeat Renji before he got the resolve to save her by his own will.

Anyway, thank you for your input, but I think I'll still stick with the title as I feel it describes their past.

You are correct you didn't directly state it. Well, my mistake for misunderstanding your post.:o I agree, 173 is one of my favorite Renruki moments *but to be honest, I love all their moments.*:D

Ah, when you said that Renji wanted to defeat Ichigo to lower her sentence I thought you were talking about their battle later in Soul Society. Yes, Renji wanted to make sure Rukia didn't get a worse sentence, but when it was implied that she'd be executed I felt Renji felt helpless and lashed out at Ichigo for putting her in this position.

Side B? What is that a side chapter? I think I remember that in the anime, but not the manga, though I didn't read some of the warlier bleach chapters.

I've watched very little of the anime, but one of the episodes I have seen is the one about Renji and Rukia's childhood. It was SO adorable, and yet at the same time so very VERY sad... T_T. After it was over, all I could think was, "poor Renji..." *sigh* My heart breaks for him, but it only makes me love him all the more.

Poor Renji, always the underdog...

Thank you Aquarelle for the suggestion but it appears some members like the name now. However, if I decide to change it, I'm sure I'll ask the opinions of the fan club. I personally would favor something like "Renji x Rukia: Redemptive Love" but I'll wait and see how this works out for now.

Thanks ED for those scenes. Those Renji x Rukia moments are awesome but still nothing can beat 173 for me. ^_________^

My question wasn't answered and no I'm not letting up on it, at least not yet. Why? Because I have come to abhor this general mindset about this pairing regardless of what this FC is called. Why does fandom keep looking backward at a subject that is overdone while the characters themselves are doing nothing but looking forward?

Ahah yeah, one of the things that freaks me out with RenRuki is the height difference (so I cheated a bit for the banner XD). So I always prefer fanarts where the fanartist cheats a bit ---> thus this fanart in the snow=sooo cute! XD

Ah, when you said that Renji wanted to defeat Ichigo to lower her sentence I thought you were talking about their battle later in Soul Society. Yes, Renji wanted to make sure Rukia didn't get a worse sentence, but when it was implied that she'd be executed I felt Renji felt helpless and lashed out at Ichigo for putting her in this position.

Here he notes that Rukia's sentence is heavy because she does not have her power. Therefor my own conclusion was that Renji felt by killing Ichigo he could lighten Rukia's sentence. I also think, as you said, he is also doing it for revenge. I hope I made myself clear now.

Hmm, I like RenRuki, but I don't think it will become canon. I was under the impression that canon was not a requirement for loving a pairing? Otherwise UlquiHime wouldn't be as popular as it is.

Anyway -- I'm looking forward to the next RenRuki reunion, as well. ^__^ But I think Ishida and Renji will be busy with Szayel for awhile... I don't think an espada will let them escape so easily. Though Renji could take off while Ishida keeps him distracted. :cool:
Hehehe it's cannon in my head because of my own interpretation. As for Szayel that creepy ****, I think he was only able to stop Renji's bankai because of the area they were in, so if they leave that area, total pawnage. i think that they did go to save their friends. Like someone said down at BF, it makes no sense for them to stay there.

Nah, when that happens (and it will) the title should be "RenRuki - CANON, 'nuff said". As RenRuki is already canon to me, I don't need to be convinced otherwise. Either way I look forward to their future. Bleach is not even halfway done yet, so many stories to go so I'm waiting on Kubo build on the great foundation he gave Renji and Rukia's relationship. He's not going to let a Renji reaction shot like what we saw in chapter 269 not come to fruition without a sweet reunion with Rukia. I also hope Ishida and Renji doesn't split up. High time Kubo consolidates the team again. I still want Renji to carry her bridal style like he did at SS.

Hum...why this talk about canon or not? I thought it was pretty much admitted than no pairings in Bleach were canon except for the tragic ones (Isshin/Masaki, Byakuya/Hisana etc).

Anyway, what strikes me with RenRuki is that, while I still think Renji's feelings are unrequited, it seems to me they managed to slowly mend their relationship and they are now back as true friends and comrades-in-arms (who like to bully Ichigo XD).

I'm sure Renji is already happy with that, since it looks like he still can't find the strength and the way to explain to her the depth of his feelings.

What is up in the air is : will Kubo give him the guts to do it? XD

May I say something? I'm really disappointed of everybody here.

This is the Renji AND Rukia Fan Club. It should, at the very least, be full of RenRuki shippers and people who truly, truly love their relationship. Fans here, despite if their OTP is IchiRuki or IchiHime, should fangirl and love the pairing [renji/rukia], if only for respect to real RenRuki shippers.

I really want to ask everyone of you to look at your hearts and see if you REALLY ship them. Please, let just drop IchiRuki and IchiHime here. This is about RenRuki. Only about them.

If you don't like it, then go and fangirl about your OTP somewhere else, every pairing has an OTP of their own. This is very sad for me, because out of ALL of you, it seems like I'm the only one whose TOP OTP is RenRuki and not IchiRuki&RenRuki / IchiHime&RenRuki.

I want to ask for some respect here.

Renji and Rukia are my OTP. It's not a pairing that I just like, it's not a pairing that I think it's just okay. It's not a second/third choice of mine, like it IS for many of the members here (90%). How many of you like RenRuki as your OTP number one on top of any-other-pairing-EVER?

To be quite honest, I love Renruki and it sometimes substitutes my OTP Ichihime as my fav pair. It's kinda hard to ship, when you can't post everything you want because you will be seen as spite shipping. In my mind yes Renruki is cannon, and in my mind, no angst doesn't fit them. Hence why I argued for a change in title, and I argued that Renji did not gain courage to save rukia from Ichigo. I am sorry you feel that way, and I am sorry if you see me that way. I just want to say that I feel the same way you do, and I apologize you feel that way, because I know the feeling sucks. Oh and I really do want that scene I posted to happen. Michelle, and Jaime as well because I remember how much you love the pairing from BF, I am sorry you feel that wya. You aren't the only one.

I'm sorry you feel this way, Sora, which is not the intent of this FC. But the posts that were made in the previous pages were, I'm sorry to say, meant to stir up trouble, and not to demonstrate love for this pairing. I hope we can put this behind us because I really don't want to see the RenRuki FC become a battleground for the other two conflicting ships. I'm sure many of us here feel the same way.

I'd like to reiterate that there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with thinking RenRuki is canon. This is the RenRuki FC, after all. It was not the canon talk that was asking for trouble, it was the obvious intent behind the posts.

Also you don't have to support RenRuki as your main OTP to be a part of this club but let's keep it peaceful in here.

For the record I never mentioned any other ship but RenRuki here. It's sometimes hard to fangirl over this pairing here when you read things like Renji's love as unrequited. I don't believe in that. How do you support a ship yet think Renji will really just be left behind? I know people disagree, so I'll just leave it at that, agree to disagree. So just so you know, when I fangirl over RenRuki, it's because I truly believe in them getting together. And I will fangirl over them a lot.:)

This is me, no innocent act, Jaimie. My post about the the title being RenRuki "Soon to be Canon" was something I really believed in and still do. However, it's unfortunate that one can't say RenRuki is canon when people say that about their pairings in other FC's without any complaints. Anyway, moving on from that as we are here to support RenRuki.

A fanart depicting a scene from Honey Dish Rhapsody. ^__^ Rukia made some spicy stuff initially, since Byakuya loves them, but he couldn't consume spicy stuff as yet, so she gave some to Ichigo, Ishida, Orihime, Chad and others. But Renji can't eat spicy foods, so he looks like he's about to die here. XD

Can I say how I started shipping RenRuki? If yes, then here we go!

When Renji loses his battle with Ichigo and then he remembers his childhood with Rukia and I got to see how far back his feelings were for her. I thought it was sweet and sad how he let his chance slip but after he told Ichigo his story, I felt that he had another chance and that he would not let it slip this time. Also, the sad look on Rukia's face when Renji didn't say anything... that's when I began shipping this ship. I found it so emotional with a very strong connection between them. Plus! They're funny as hell. XD

Renji and Rukia have a beautiful, bright future ahead of them, and they deserve all the happiness in the world. Their relationship is full of new chances, they have been through a lot together, and I'm sure that after all that has happened, they can only keep growing together and get closer and closer to each other.

Can't wait to see who's the one who finds Rukia first. I got the feeling that it's Gin >3 but if not, I'd love if it's her man who ends up finding her. It would be nice, though, considering that we haven't had a RenRuki reunion since a long time ago. They need some time alone!

Thanks for the awesome icons Michelle! I also totally agree that Renji and Rukia have a bright future ahead of them. It's why I can't wait to see their reunion. Like I said earlier, Renji's reaction in chapter 269 made me squee out loud. Seeing his reaction to Rukia possibly being dead reminded me or Rukia freaking out back in SS when she felt Renji's reiatsu fade. As for Gin finding Rukia, possible as he was responsible for having her meet Aaronilo. But I really hope not as it would delay Renji and Rukia's reunion even more. I've always figured that if Renji were to find out that Gin was responsible for what happened to Rukia, he'd totally hunt Gin down and those two would face off.

Though I don’t have that big of a problem with Rukia drawn as a loli not to much though but I do have problem with Rukia height inaccuracy. Rukia is 4'11 / 5 and Renji is 6'2 . But the fan artists mess that up . It ticks me off when they do draw Rukia as though she is 4 feet tall :mad:

That is soooo funny 'cause I have thought of that as well, have a bizarre theory that Urahara saw Renji and Rukia and figured they'd make beautiful kids and powerful to boot so he decided to get their cells and create Jinta and Ururu! So yeah it tickled me when Renji was staying over at Urahara's shoten. Kept hoping Urahara would have said, "by the way, have you met your kids?" XD

And I agree, Byakuya would be the best uncle ever. I think also that's why I wanted Renji's eldest son to have black hair and Rukia's eyes just so Byakuya can annoy Renji about how the blood of the Kuchikis is strong.:D

Except that, Jinta is not as handsome as Renji, sorry to Jinta fans. And apart from the hair colour, they are nothing alike. Renji is a sweetheart, very considerate, and as a child, Renji was never as bratty as Jinta is.

And sorry to Ururu fans, but she's pretty much gutless (except for her heroic kick to Il Forte's face, and that was an extraordinary behaviour, too) and very unlike Rukia. Rukia as a child comported herself with grace, elegance and sophistication, despite being someone from Rukongai. Ururu on the other hand, is an everyday normal kid who needs to stand up to Jinta the bully. She should make use of her forte (kicking people to the face) more often.

I'm sure both Rukia and Renji's children would look far better than that. ;) Though, I don't have any gripes against Jinta and Ururu. It's just that they are completely =/= little!Rukia and little!Renji apart from the hair. XD

This takes place at the end of Bount arc in the anime. Rukia is still recovering in her house and Renji is there. They see from afar the opening of Senkai gates (Ichigo and friends return to the human world). She comments that it will not be eternal goodbye. Renji notices something strange next to Rukia's pillow. It's a juicebox. But how did a juicebox reach Seireitei, delivered straight to the Kuchiki residence? Only Yoruichi is capable of doing that, but she would've said if it was from her. Renji thinks it's from Byakuya. (And he's right.)

I would lolled if Kubo makes RenRuki reunion like IchiHime reunion in 276, lack of passions and emotions.:rotflmao because of both of them are too injured themselves, seeing each other with that kind of eyes.

Btw.....I'm all out with snow_white_rose with making fics. I'm trying to write a fic, but I just can't think of a scenario. Closet scene is unreachable for me to write. Got any ideas about RenRuki?

I'd like to know....let's just say if Bleach is really about RenRuki LOVE STORY, my first fic for RenRuki. I'd prefer Renji to be the main character. If so, how do you want Renji's character to be....if Rukia were to step into his world and change his life?

I don't want it to be a copycat like Ichigo's. How do you think Renji's life would be in a real world?

And I agree, we do not wish for it to be a copycat of Ichigo's at all. We want to exclude the kicking of Rukia on the first sighting of her because we indeed want it to be the RenRuki Love Story which would exclude any violence between the two and bickering. Because that can't be romantic at all.

I'd like to see Renji risk his life for Rukia on first meeting, although he doesn't really know who she is. Or maybe that's a bit too cliche but just suggesting.

Yep, yep, something like that. I wonder if it was Renji, how would he be like in the real world.

Maybe he is the bad boy biker at night but daytime he's a cook, specialty in cooking bunny dishes. So when shinigami Rukia comes into his life, the first thing she would do....is to change him literally, force him to cook anything else except rabbit meat dishes. That's what we would call, 'change his life literally'. :D

And during the night they would go biking on his motorbike, fighting crimes and hollows, under the full bright moon.

I don't know....kicking Rukia on the butt to save her life is a little bit romantic and funny. I mean Ichigo is rude and all, kicking a person he's meeting for the first time. But Renji kicking Rukia so that she can be out of the danger's way, thinking that she's a little child, but still treat her like an adult?

Well, manfan (is it wrong that I giggle a little bit inside whenever I read your name? XD), I've come across a few RenRuki AU's, but nothing like you're proposing, which is basically the starting premis of Bleach but with Renji. Interesting idea to say the least. :D

I enjoy the idea of Renji being a chef/cook that specializes in rabbit dishes... apart from the irony of it, the idea of Renji cooking... is rather drool-worthy. Most AU's that I've seen where he's an adult is when he's a 'rock star' of some sort. I suppose between the hair and tattoos it's a little hard to imagine what else he could be... but let him have the bike. It works for him. ;D

You should also try to place an emphasis on that after meeting Rukia, Renji now has someone to worry about and care for. He's generally characterized as an orphan (from what I've read) with no real family or attachments, since it is within Bleach canon currently that Rukia is the biggest attachment Renji has. That would be a very interesting build-up on his side I think.
