I mean, i've never seen a menos lift op his mask, sure, i've seen grandfisher doing this but by then he was already arrancarized. as far as i can tell shawlong wouldn't be able to eat unless he breaks his mask aarhhh so many questions >_______< i think kubo made a huge designproblem T____________T;;;; what do you think? And it's not only funny but it actually explains how he became an arrancar.
He was tired of having to cut the hollows in small pieces to eat them so some day he tried to remove his mask to eat more easily and BAM ! Hollow without mask = arrancar ! One more mystery solved.
Seriously, do hollows have to actually "eat" others to get strongers ? Aren't they spiritual bodies ? And if they are spirits, can't they just "absorb" other spirits ? I've always wondered how spirits could eat, bleed...
So I think that "eating hollows" only refers to the process of absorbing another spirit, just as Shirosaki wanted to "devour" Ichigo.

Well, he for sure has a face under there, with a mouth. So, either he can move his mask, like pseudo arrancar GF or it's combination of his claws or some kind of tounge attack that comes out, gets the hollws and drags them through the openings.

well,the gillian that came to Karakura town extended his tongue and caught some holows and he swaloed them.Probably that`s how shaulong did it too (the gillian could open his mask`s mouth)

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure they have real, physical bodies (just made up of reishi). They are invisible to humans but they can't really pass through walls (without breaking them:))

I think they can pass through walls in the human world only, since walls aren't made of reishi... but they definetely won't go through walls in SS or HM!! (unless they break them)
