I love all things Akira Toriyama. DBZ is good for the action but I also like how well Mr Toriyama keeps every ones life story together. He also does aging extremely well.

No the only characters on the cover are Goku and Piccolo for the DBZ esque of it. That and you can travel back in time and see events from DBZ and DB
What you're seeing is the aging system. Every character starts as a kid and grows up.

Kind of both. See Akira wrote the history from Age 784 (When Goku left with Uub) to Age 1000 (present), also the Yardat people in the game look different cause they weren't in the manga. Stuff like that

About GT...GT was a failure imo cuz:

1)I't wasn't Toriyama's(he had a very minor role)
2)All the characters(except from the ssj'4 and gogeta)were crap(characters like gohan,trunks,piccolo,were ruined for no reason)
3)The scenario was worst even from the first db..lol

The best and true db was z and no one can say bad words about it(It was the beggining and inspiration for the most shounen animes.like:bleach.naruto.d gray man etc....)

yeah, you're right, i never really thought about it, but they were the most human

their body frames were real, hair was real, facial expressions and proportions made sense

and 18 was just HAWT, so it really evens out :XD

I guess I'm sorta lucky that way. I started watching DB with the original jap. voices 10 years ago so I got used to them . You see Goku as a kid was really cute so when I first heard the extremely squeeky voice I thought it kinda suited him. My surpirse was when I saw that they kept the same VA when Goku grew up. I prefer the original japanese voice cast over any dubs in general and I never had any problems with female VA playing males but I have to admit that I can't say the same in DB/DBZ case. I never found the early DBZ english dubs good, actually I found the acting pretty awfull, but then last year when my brother felt like taking a trip down mememory lane and downloaded the Dragonball he found only the english Funimation version. I was put off by that and decided not to watch it until the Piccolo jr saga that I really wanted to re-watch no matter what. To my extreme surpirse it was good, REALLY good. Funimation really has gotten better over the years (I presume they did DB after DBZ). My favorite is the dialog between Piccolo and Kami during their battle when their supposedly talking in namekian.


EDIT: BTW did you know that Table(Vegeta's brother in the new special) is played by the same VA that does Ichigo?

The funny thing is I'm a big fan of both Piccolo AND James Marsters but James Marsters AS Piccolo..... I remember when I first read this news on the net I stared at my screen for about a minute , I just couldn't believe it let alone picture it. I said it before and I'll say it again, Dragonball is not the sort a manga/story that can be successfully made into a movie so the moment I heard they started shooting and I knew there was no turning back from there on. I braced myself for the worst. However nothing could have prepared me for THIS *looks at picture of movie-Piccolo and weeps*
