So how are they going to defeat Acnologia if only dragons can defeat Acnologia?

I don't read this manga anymore so can anyone explain to me why there are only 7 dragons? Last time I checked there were supposed to be thousands.

Okay so I read this chapter...okay I just took a peak at the last few pages. I guess that's why they're called Dragon Slayers. I would have expected something more symbolic in the past but now it makes sense.

Great Chapter. 10/10 from me. Glad to see Mashima remembered Cobra. I do find it doubtful that the dragon slayers can defeat the dragons one on one. They are all badly injured with the exception of Cobra. But of course the power of friendship will help them rise to the occasion.

I think the ability to control dragons comes when a dragon slayer kills another dragon slayer like how Rogue killed Sting

Mashima has a way a pulling at your heart strings huh? Ah, Sting and Rouge, why do you make me like you so much?

Since Rogue killed Sting, and current Rouge is fighting with Sting, it's a matter of time until he "betrays" everyone. I hope he doesn't though, I really like his character :(

I had competely forgotten about Laxus ans Cobra being dragon slayers, now everything is on (seemingly) equal ground.

Since Cobra's back, I wonder if the other wizards from Oracion Seis came back. Like Angel? *cough*Yukino's sister*cough*

Also, next chapter is called Zirconis' Magic. I think it's safe to assume the Jade dragon will play some kind of role.

I know it's a setup chapter, but damn, Mashima is good at writing those. Now I can't wait to see who's going to fight who. Excluding Natsu of course, he has his opponent already.

Future Rogue is really a well-intentioned extremist... that was consumed by the hunger of power. He doesn't seem to realize it would make him no better than Acnologia, the very entity he wants to get rid of at all costs.

Makarov's magic can't do a thing to the Flame Dragon because it's a magic of a human origin? It adds more uniqueness to the DS Magic then , and I like it - it became a bit "cliched' after the introduction of other able to wield it successfully and wizards who were magical powerhouses of the highest level. This Atlas looks like he is made of flame though... It would be hard to hit something intangible. :D

Yesterday's enemy is tomorrow's ally - I was expecting Cobra to return sooner or later, given how much focus the Dragonslayers are receiving in this arc.

So the next chapter is Zilconis time to shine? I'm looking forward to seeing what makes him so special.

... I don't think it'll happen due to "Flames of hell" being a similar case to the Fire Godslayer ones . But you never know what exactly Mashima has in store :D

Well, the situation is pretty dire as it is, also, he was reminded of the death of his dragon parent... I don't think he realized who exactly the mastermind behind the myahem that is occuring in the town right now is, nor he is hiding something dark - he didn't even met with his future self yet,apart from that one time when he was possessed by the shadow , but you can hardly call that a meeting .

Cobra coming back was the highlight of the chapter IMO. This was a good chapter, thankfully. Hopefully we can get past the monstrosity that was the end of the magic games lol.

I had never considered his shadow to have actually been future Rogue. It makes sense, I suppose.
I expect some Rogue vs Rogue action in the near future. He's got to meet him sometime.

Dragon slayers are finally slaying Dragons. It's a lot more refreshing than seeing Makarov, whom supposedly has an arsenal of light magic, decide to punch a flame-cloaked dragon! Hooray!

Though I suppose it would be a possibility. Dragon Slayers are rather close to their feline friends...
