I always thought that people classfied her as a tomboyish type of gal b/c she lacked the common traits of most other shounen heroines. (the ones I've read so far have some pretty bubbly girly-girl as the heroine)
This is also why I love her so much as an individual character :love. she's not the typical shounen heroine and has a more realistic air about her. she's sweet and considerate to others, but has no problem get down and serious with her friends and comarades if she needs to. she's elegant and smart, while still having her goofy moments where you just wanna hug her for being so adorable :XD

Honestly, I'm tired of the bubbly, go-lucky gals that get the herione tagged on them. they get pretty boring and annoying after awhile. Rukia is definitely a breath of fresh air for my rarely-reads-shounen fangirl self :smug

There's nothing wrong with liking multiple Rukia pairings (I go for just about all of them out there. The crackier, the better :XD)

I think she may get seen as a tomboy because of the way she interacts with her male friends like Renji or Ichigo (Arguing, Punching, Kicking) When a girl acts that dominant to a guy, people will tend to consider her a tomboy, although Rukia really isn't one. She's just tough and highly verbal :uhuh

I prefer her the way she is. She isn't another bubbly shonen girl, yet she's not the deadly, kills all, tough as nails, cold, mysterious yet attractive typed herione either. She has her weaknesses, and she has a soft side :amuse

I think Rukia is very feminine. That's why I don't understand when people call her a tomboy. She's not putting on makeup or curling her hair, so she's automatically a tomboy? What exactly qualifies a girl as a tomboy? I've been called a tomboy on many ocassions simply because I like to wrestle with boys or that I go crazy over the fights in Bleach. What? Is a tomboy a girl that simply enjoys things that are typically atributed to boys? I just can't wrap my head around it...

For the tomboyish/feminine part, for me Rukia is very feminine, and she is graceful, beautiful, and sweet. But she is not "girly-girly", like a shojoish girl could be. And she can effectively be tomboyish because of some aspects of her personality. The way she is with ichigo and Renji for exemple, when she kicks their ass, argues with them or punches them, as Carrotsandroses said. It's more tomboyish than girly. She hides her emotions very often, as if they could be weaknesses, and it's more tomboyish. And don't forget how she grew up in Rukongai, she had to be like boys to survive and be respected, and that made a part of her personality. But she is so feminine. I for one like to pair Rukia to almost all hot men there. LOL

She's a special character and i think, as well as most people here, she deserves ALL of them.

Here! Here! She's not the sterotypical shounen hero. Her physical features show it all.. and like i said in my previous post, her three-dimensional character make her all the more special. There are not alot like her in the shounen world. Actually, she's the only one I know who is like..that. :D

You can also see how Kubo made her special and unique from the other characters in Bleach.

She's the shortest. Apparently, no one is shorter than her, except Kon.. but she can stand tall in everything that she does.

She has the most beautiful ice/snow zanpaktou..which is all white, meaning her soul is pure.

A tragic, yet interesting past which explains her well-rounded character - why she has this cold persona.

She's not womanly, but like Renji said..she has this air of elegance that radiates from her.

I would also call her a tomboy coz of the way she interacts with her male friends, especially Ichigo and Renji. She has no inhibitions. She's tough yet vunerable. That vunerability and fragileness balances her tomboyish personalilty. It brings out that feminine side.

Looks like we will see that sultry side of her in the movie :cookie me excited! :yay

She is a cute shorty makes her kicks and punches at certain friends of hers much more hilarious to watch :D The anime threw me off completely though since I watched that 1st before reading the manga. I had concluded that Rukia must be a legal midget or the animators drew her wrong when I saw her stand next to Ichigo. the other guys in her life don't help either :sweat
I found out her height was 4'8.5" halfway through the manga when I just happened to check out a website that had scanlations on character bios :noes
The FTB movie is making her seem a bit taller though, her legs haven't seem that slender to me since I've watched Bleach :headscratch

The other one is in episode 32 when she's at the academy talking to Renji about being adopted and she came right up to Renji's chest. I don't know if that was done on purpose or what...

Because she talks with a loud voice, she punches and she kicks and she doesn't stand there like a dainty little flower which goes "help! help!" :facepalm (no, I'm not referring to any character, don't think so much)

Typical characterization of a female character which can fight and has a loud voice- which is put to good use that jolts people out of their senses.

Just like Syn has said, she wears a kimono, wears dresses, her Chappy obssesion, she loves her flowers (childhood with Renji in the river), she feeds the birds (in the Sougyouku--> that's in the anime, I can't remember if the manga has that)...how does that make Rukia a tomboy?

She so seldom wears a pants (the hakama not counted), we all squealed when we saw her in pants in ending 16.

Speaking of Rukia's height...I wanted to share an off topic story related to Rukia.

Several weeks ago when I was watching the closing credits for Bleach: the Amagi Arc, my 4 year old daughter ran into my office wanting to watch it with me.

She's only allowed to watch the beginning or end credits of any anime, otherwise she's stuck only watching Dora, Mickey Mouse, and Little Einsteins. However, she knows enough of Bleach to know Rukia and Ichigo's character by clips she's caught here and there.

So she sat on my lap while watching the closing credits of that weird IchiRuki closing video. There's a scene where the camera is angled upwards on Rukia, making her look taller.

My daughter starts fussing. "That's not right. Rukia's supposed to be smaller. She's always supposed to be little."

"How small is she" I asked.

Alright new version! I love that banner Syn! I have a question I would like to ask about Rukia.

Why is Rukia often characterized as being tomboyish? I mean I can't really think of anything that automatically sticks out as her being a tomboy, yet I often hear people call her one. Having been called a tomboy myself on many occasions, I would like know, why some people see her as a tomboy?

Good Q! Rukia as many sides to her personaly as Syn and others had aptly described and she interact differently with different people. With Nii sama she is this perfect little lady and adoring little sister, with Kaien she is the devoted protegee, with Ichigo and Renji with whom she interacts the most in the manga, she is this spunky, take no nonsense occasionally gentle girl.

Renji and especially Ichigo respond to that side of her personality. She is an intiutive girl and occasionally manupulative, but in a good sense, she doesnt manipulates for her own benefits but rather for the good of Ichigo (or Renji). Also she pretty much figure out that at this particular stage of development Ichigo responded to direct action (ie a swift kick) and provocative words (like the time she tricked Ichigo into voicing his concerns for Ishida :p).

Ichigo generally doesnt pay attention to girls particularly girly girls. Its something that KT has shown from the first volume of Bleach. (He bumped into Orihime, honestly how many guys can missed her? Yet a chapter later KT had Ichigo listening raptly to Rukia's story of shinigami academy)

So long story short, the tomboyish preceptions came from her general interactions with Ichigo, she doesnt simper and goes "Oh Kurosaki kun", well she does but Ichigo knows she is only acting which seems to bug him a lot :D

@ Syn lovely banner and colorings :love the sprawed-Rukia and gag-Rukia are some of my favorite drawing of her and also some of KT's most disturbing images of her. I think the scene when Renji and Byakuya found her and manhandle her was the first time when I realised how tiny and vulnerable she is.

Wow, cute Story Fathom, especially since your daughter knows Rukia's height by heart.

That first pic is uber cute, but since Hitsugaya is sitting and Hinamori is leaning over you can't tell there height, which is sort of sucky, cause I think that Hinamori is about an inch taller than Rukia and Hitsugaya is 4 inches shorter than Rukia, but with his hair you really can't tell.

Anyways....my point is that they are all around the same height, which to me is uber cute, cause they are my favorite characters. :fangirl Perhaps, I'm reading to much into this, but oh well, I felt like sharing.

I don't see anything tomboyish about Rukia. It's Tatsuki who is a typical tomboyish girl.
Rukia just hides her feelings. She is proud and she doesn't sugarcoat words. She has that "badass" expression on her face most often because she is badass.
What makes people think of a girl as a female? Being a damsel in distress, hiding behind the guy or walking around flirting with guys or acting all sweet-like?
Rukia's independant and can take care of herself. Why does everyone believe that if you are not clingy and dependant you are definitely tomboy-ish girl? That kind of downplays our gender. She is strong and tough but that doesn't make her masculine :facepalm
She doesn't even look like a boy despite her small boobs. She wears dresses and stuff. She doesn't smile all the time but that comes from personality, not gender.

In her own way, she's super girly. Other than that one ending credits on the filler arc, you never once see her in pants. In fact, when she's out of uniform, she's either in dresses or yukattas. No tomboy would be obssessed w/ chappy, and doodle such sorry looking sketches. LOL

When she needs to be the atypical girl she can. i.e. Her fake teary protest to the principle that blamed Ichigo for the whole Don Kanonji thing. And her fake charade to go live w/ Ichigo's family officially.

She simply has less tolerance for BS because she did grow up in the 78th slums after all.

If anyone was tomboyish, I would have to agree that Tatsuki would fit more of that role. Not because of her martial arts, but because her answer is to beat it out of someone. Case in point when she attacked Ichigo demanding answers about Orihime, or when she told Orihime to attack Ichigo and profess her love or something.

Overall, she's as far from a tomboy as one can be.

I would say Rukia has a tomboy side to her, but it's not her most dominant personality. Yes, she can kick butt and doesn't need anyone to save her without doing anything. She depends on others, but they too depend on her. I agree with MOF, just because she's not your typical leading female, doesn't mean she's a tomboy. I see Rukia as feminine, but not overly, just the right amount. She is a mix of both. I love how she made fun of the whole stereotypical female thing by acting as one!

I always assumed that Rukia's first born son with whoever she marries *coughichigocough* would be the heir to the Kuchiki clan, much to the chagrin of the elders (but who cares about the elders, Byakushi is the clan head and he owns them :D). I find it highly unlikely that Byakuya would consent to that, since he loves Hisana very much and he sees her sister as... well, his sister. Maybe almost like his daughter.

On the other hand, Byakuya has been known for making some very foolish decisions in the past regarding Rukia... In which case, she would probably leave the house (and the clan) until Byakuya regains his senses (or a certain someone beats them back into him). Not in a "running away" kind of way, but in a very respectful "pack-up-my-things-and-leave-thank-you-for-everything" way.

oooh good question! good question indeed! I think i sort of automatically assummed that Rukia whoever she marries whether arranged or not, the child born would be automatic heir to the clan. At least i think? Though our Byakuya-sama has made some pretty foolish choices in the past regarding his little sister. She would do what he said now without question. she'd do it to protect (said man she loves from whatever harm may be coming to him) even if that meant she was unhappy.

They prove more than that.

I generally agree with Tatygirl answer, I just want to add a little to it. I think Rukia has established sufficient re-bonding with Byakuya and Renji (or established bond with Ichigo depending on the case) for her to inform them of her decision. So if Rukia does decide to be with Ichigo for example, I think that she would inform Byakuya and Renji of her decision.

I think even if Byakuya disapprove of 'the orange haired brat' :p he would go along with Rukia wishes, seeing he himself had defied convention and marry for love.

I read a really touching story (my sincerest apology to the author for not being able to recall her name at this moment) on how despite repeated attempts the clan elders still refuse Ichigo proposals and Byakuya make the biggest sacrifies as a loving brother -- he disowned Rukia so that she wouldnt be tied to family obligations and can be free to be with the man she loves. The ending was so touching, the siblings hug and Byakuya said something like while you are no longer a Kuchiki you will always be my sister' :cry

Ah the controversial question and I am going to play devil advocate:devil :heehee Time is by no meams a measure of how great/deep a love can be (man, I should quit reading those hallmark cards!) but lets put them in prespective -- Despite his attitude Byakuya is a young man, he is about Gin, Matsumoto age group and they are slightly older than the Renji-Rukia-Kira-Momo gang.

He was married for almost 5 years, but considering than Shinigami lifespan runs into thousnands of years old (Ukitake and Shunsui are over 2000 years old) a five year marriage is probably an equvalent of five months marriage in human years.

It is quite hard to imagine that at some point in his life that he would not be married again, yes he would always loves Hisana, she will also be the great love that he lost, but there is not to say that a couple hundred years down the line that he wont be thinking about getting married or find love again? And whom better to love for a man who's zampaktou reflects his preference for small (deadly) beauty than Rukia, Hisana's most precious legacy. If by this time Rukia has yet to form love attachment with other man, I could see this marriage happening.

Confession: Ok Ichiruki is my OTP, but Byaruki and Renruki are close second and third, as a devoted member of Rukia's reverse harem I feel oblige to present the case of Rukia's other men :D

On that note, I would also like to share an info my Japanese friend told me a while back, in Japan it is acceptable for the man who is marrying a girl whose family status is higher than his to assume her family name. Modern day example is the Morita family (Founder of Sony corp) The late Akio Morita had three daughters and as part of agreement for marriage is for the son in laws to assume the Morita name.

I could totally see Byakuya doing the same -- so we could have a Kuchiki Ichigo (ok to be fair a Kuchiki Renji), if Byakuya is not getting married again the future heirs should the very least be bearing a Kuchiki name. Or it could be hyphenated, not a common practice in Japan but does present a good compromise.

I wanted to share about adoption practise in the east but that I would really be veering off topic :D

I agree with Chire that Rukia would tell Byakuya what she was doing. I think she respects and looks up to her brother, so I feel like she would tell him, but I don't think she would let that her stop from doing what she intended to do. Byakuya's come a long way see he was first introduced, so I think he would respect Rukia's wishes. He might not exactly agree with what she wanted to do, but I do think he would let her make her own decision.

I disagree with the second bit though. Even though he only married Hisana for a short time, she was always held dear in his heart, even to the point where he'd consider adopting a stray from Rukongai just to please her name. So I find it unlikely that Byakuya would be such a man to ever consider getting with his late wife's sister. :uhuh

I think she'll follow her emotions. Just look at Karakura arc! She didn't leave because it was her duty like she said or pretened to believe, but because she didn't want her friends to be hurt.
She isn't as emotionless as she appears to be. In fact, she has broken enough rules to make me believe she is far from those "have-no-feelings-Shinigami". She wants to be like them but she isn't.


Rukia respects Byakuya yeah I have to agree. She's gonna inform him 100% because she is loyal to those around her and he is Nii-sama after all. But if he doesn't agree, she'll find a way to convince him and if not, she'll do whatever her hearts wants. But she'll struggle a lot and she'll have lots of doubts.

I think Rukia will follow her emotions rather than duty. earlier on in the manga I might have said duty, especially since she was taught that by the clan that adopted her. But she grows emotionally wise as the story progresses and seems to have a grown 'independent' in the sense that she doesn't let other people's views influence her decision as much as they did before.

I mean she was planning on going back to Ichigo after Yamamoto had forbidden her and renji from going to HM with him. She was letting her emotions lead her there without a second thought :heehee

So she'll follow her heart, but like MOF-neechan said, she'll be going down a hard road because she follows her heart

GENERAL COMMENT
Compared to last year its a little dispapointing in terms of quality, last year's were thick paper - mini posters (80cm x 100cn) with a beautiful Zangetsu-Shirayiki porfolio folder. This year's is a wall calender, the paper is not as thick as I wish and without the manila paper backing you have to be careful not to bend the edges. Also most of the spread has white background so the imnages are less dramatic compared to last year.

However the colorspread selections are awesome, there are 6 images of Rukia out of 7 in the calender. 7 Rukia if you count the girls' spread. Is it worth the money? In my oponion Yes! Love the selections, the images are in different sizes with Jan-Feb being the smallest, and you can really see and appreacite the details in each.

I think before anything, Byakuya wouldn't really force her to do anything that she is unhappy with (esp. since he wasn't very keen on following them himself *cough*) I think he has an understanding of these things, and really, he would probably prefer Rukia to follow what she wants. It is something he learned during the SS arc.

I think Rukia would go with her feelings, though having her brother's approval would be something I'm sure she would want before she does anything.

Well, I think Rukia is the type really to not focus on those aspects of herself, and generally puts her duty as a shinigami before anything else. But with the latest development she went through with her fight, her growth was more towards her view of relationships and the importance of her friends and such. So I think at first, it would be something new to her so she might try to deny it, but in the end, she would probably embrace it.

Haha, kind of hard to say. Rukia is more of conveying herself through her actions then anything else. It is hard for her to be open about such things, as one can see from several times where the situation arose regarding that. For example, when she was questioned by Ichigo's classmates, her automatic reaction is to spit out her drink and have difficulty really saying anything about it. But you never know. How she would become if she were to really understand her feelings and know its not just her imagining things, I think she would be open. >>'

She might go into denial mode, depending on how far, she's concluded to herself, her feelings for (insert guy's name) are. It also depends on the bond she already knows she has/had with (insert guy's name), if it's deep enough and she realizes that that bond has something to do with her newly discovered feelings then she'll definitely embrace them.
I do know for ceratin that she's a girl, that once she's completely and absolutely sure of something, she'll run straight forward for it :yay

That's who Rukia is.
We already saw her in love.( my point of view-she loved Kaien) And she accepted her position as it is. Although I don't know if she realized she loved him or not. I think she didn't. Not that Kubo would show us if she did think "I love him" but he didn't give us any indication she knows either.
All she thought about was how she was happy around Kaien-dono and how he made her feel better, her only friend etc. etc.

I mean, for her to realize she's in love is a huge step, so I believe that at first she would be scared, because she wouldn't understand the feeling. I;m sure she's loved (Her sister, Byakuya at some level, Kaien and even Ukitake), but when it comes to being in love, that's totally a different story.

Denial seems to be the first option for her in many situations when it comes to feelings. Rukia, before anything, is a soldier, and as a soldier she isn't allowed to show her feelings, no matter how deep they are. Second, she's a Kuchiki, and in her upbringing it has always been stressed the importance of focusing in your work, nothing else.

And Rukia herself would find the feeling a nuisance. She would never confess her feelings since for her, it would be an inconvenience to the other person. We all know Rukia loves her guilt, and that would be the first thing that would pop into her head.

So yeah, denial would be first.

Rukia will just do everything in her power to protect that person and make sure he's happy, even if it's not with her. She would go as far as sacrificing herself for there well being, because that is what she does. So actions would definitely be her way of communicating.

I do agree with GreenBlack she lacks confidence in that dept. so once she does get this realization it's hard to say what her actions will be. personally though I do think she'll try to express her feelings through actions. she's not much for words (thinks this from her interactions with Kaien :XD) she'll value him and his friendship above her other relationships with friends. her facial expressions will probably also be a big clue to show her feelings. exampl guy gets hurt b/c he was trying to protect her from a nasty blow, rukia's pretty little violet eyes will cloud into pain and worry for the guy, he'll notice this unnatural for her and boom there you have it :flirt

I like the way this sounds so much. VERY Rukia-ish.
Her issues are strange. She had to deal with the guilt of killing a loved one and that made her think that she is worthless and hideous for long time.
But I don't think it's only that which make her feel this way. It's just a part of her character to have low self-esteem. Even before Kaien died, she felt isolated.
Maybe her low self-esteem comes from the fact she was someone from Rukongai in the Academy and everyone else was above her, not to mention they made fun of her even in the Kuchiki clan. Then the only person that made her feel loved and worth died by her own hands. So what's there to expect? Of course she would wonder if she is good enough or not. Especially because her only family acts like she is nothing.

Rukia's voice actress, Michelle Ruff, said that she thought Rukia was sort of a loner, which is true to an extent. Character growth, I call it. Kubo has been very faithful in helping her grow mentally and also in her strength and powers. The Kaien issue is certainly something that has scarred her for life, but she is strong and is able to come to terms with it. That's admirable. ;)

Well, I am all for IchiRuki and I have no idea what has kept me from posting here! Well here it goes, I'd LOVE to join! :p Why? Well for many reasons.

When I first saw Bleach, it was because a friend had suggested it but it took me forever to really get out of laziness and look into it. And Rukia though she is one of the first characters in the series, I knew that she'd be one of my favorites none the less. Whether she came in 5, 10 episodes later. She has an amazing background, and she has real connection with a lot of the characters. Even Orihime, and especially Ichigo. All three actually having a death within their families, and her bond with all the "ryoka" who went to save her. She seems to have touched everyone, and not negatively either.

Blah blah blah, I am sure this has all been heard before. :p Just adding some fuel to the Rukia fire! I mean, who could seriously hate her, she has an amazing sense of "style" too. >_> Even if she'd drawn hahaha!

She seems to have touched everyone, and not negatively either.
Her life has had impact on many people yes. Ichigo-she totally changed his world. She made him happier, stopped his guilt, thanks to her and his desire to save her he got stronger and learn BanKai, she turned his world into something else, she made him meet a lot of new people, she made him alive again.
Orihime, as much as the relationship is one-sided, has learnt a lot from Rukia, thanks to Rukia she finally interacted with Ichigo and she found a new friend.
Rukia has impact on Kaien also, huge impact on Renji, Hanatarou, blah, blah.
All in all, she is the pure win! :)

She is.. completely self less. Even if a Rukia hater was here, and some Orihime lover.. I can't see her being jealous or selfish about something, she doesn't let trival things get into her mind and control her. Unless it's helping someone out, she even basically died helping Orihime, it shows how determinded she is. Just like Orihime was when she went to SS for her as well. Just Ori seems to have more human emotion.. <_<;;

So the most important man in her life? She would not let him down. And Byakuya would approve. Because he'd get no other choice XD

What if the Kuchiki elders have decided on a marriage between the Head of the clan and their little adopted Kuchiki? The Kuchiki clan need an heir. What if Byakuya is agreeable to the arrangement, would Rukia consent to the marriage of would she ran off with the man that she loves (be it Ichigo or Renji or........ perhaps Gin)

Sorry, but Inoue hasn't given anything to Rukia - she's just her first girl friend, but it's thanks to Ichigo that Rukia opened up again (that is how she usually is - she was before with the kids in Rukongai, but she closed her heart when she entered the academy and her relationship with Renji pretty much broke up - then she opened up again thanks to Kaien and when she 'killed' him, she closed up again). It was Ichigo, who, by kicking her in the first chapter, made her back to her old self, unconsciously :XD

Rukia tried to teach Orihime to be stronger but...I'm not sure if Orihime tried herself to follow Rukia's example.
And yes, Orihime hasn't done anything for Rukia because she is too consumed with her love for Ichigo. Until Orihime gets over Ichigo it's a lose-lose situation.
Orihime only thought about how Ichigo didn't come to save her and how scared she is he's not there for her. She didn't think that Rukia's dying for her sake. I just don't think Rukia is an important figure in Hime's life-more like a threat for her love.
Well, Rukia's more mature so I guess Orihime can learn something for her if she tries. Haven't seen her do that so far.
it's only been about Ichigo. Not bashing, just stating that Syn is right-their relationship is not strong right now.

I gotta quote it to the end. Also I'd like to add that Orihime didn't go to soul society to save Rukia. As Orihime herself stated, she went there just to protect Ichigo. It also explains even further that how Rukia is the one who really pays attention to Orihime more than Orihime pays to Rukia, cos Rukia went to Hueco Mundo just to save Orihime. It wasn't related to protect Ichigo, Renji or the others. Not to offense anyone but saying that Rukia opening his eyes to world thanks to Orihime is taking things a bit lightly and in a wrong way.

Anyway, let's not take it to an Rukia vs. Orihime thing since there are lots of fans who like Orihime as much as they like Rukia. Whatever debate we wanna make, let's do it through PMs etc... That'll effect the reputation of this FC as well. Since this is the FC that I value the most, I wouldn't want mods coming to warn us here.

Rukia's motive to HM is to save Orihime. I has been showed throughout the arc and even minutes before she passed out. That is admirable. No one except Rukia has showed so much determination in rescuing her, no not even Ichigo, but Ishida is close enough. :p (He said that he wasn't there to fight but to rescue Inoue-san)

Ichigo's uncertainty on why is he even there and his passion to fight and refusing to take off his mask just to whack Grimmjow is different from Rukia's SOLE aim to rescue her nakama.

Orihime on the other hand, did not display such affection for Rukia. She only banged the door and cry while saying "Please stop it" when she feels Rukia's reiatsu getting weaker. Ok, fair enough, she did care about Rukia. But that is so pathetic if you were to compare Rukia with her.

Rukia almost lose her life trying to rescue her, but Orihime went there to give her life to protect Kurosaki-kun. :zomg (Her years of friendship with Tatsuki is not chosen over her one-sided love. I was horrified when she changed her mind about seeing Tatsuki at the last minute.) Instead of really cherishing the bond Tatsuki had with her, she chose to go to a man who does not reciprocate her feelings. :hm

And during the SS arc, Inoue was there to help Kurosaki-kun. That's her sole motive. To be near him and be useful to him and failed.

Rukia isn't like that. Period. To say that Inoue is the one helping Rukia is wrong. Utterly wrong.

On to more serious stuff -- On Orihime-Rukia friendship, I agree with the general sentiments posted. I would just like to add that while the Orihime-Rukia friendship is not perfect at this stage it has a good potential to develop into one of strong solid bond providing certain issues are dealt with.

For example as mentioned-- Orihime's feelings towards Ichiog and how she deals with the Ichigo-Rukia bond, she has to have some kind of resolutions with regards to Ichigo in order to move on and begin focusing on herself, her own development. Only after she finds herself would she be a good friend that you could depend on.

On Rukia's part, she has to develop more intuition, be more aware of the thinkings of a normal average girls, to learn to pick up clues from the nuances of interactions -- these are the kind things you develop as gain more experience and as you interact more with your own gender. Rukia can handle boys/men with ease but are often clueless about girls her own age :D

I'll tackle some of SS questions and leave the rest (mine including :D fir later!)
