You know what, I forgot to put Ulquiorra in the avatar! *bangs head on desk* I'll add his face when he says "What if I were to tell you..." or "Now do you have a reason to fight me?" when I add Noitora's face when he says "You mean 'If the woman is free, I won't definitely lose', right" or whatever ;)

That avatar has a theme to it...

1. Tatsuki saying that Orihime should shove her boobs in Ichigo's face.
2. Ishida looking on with a smile as Ichigo and Orihime converse after Ichigo's fight with Byakuya.
3. Chad looking away and smiling as Ichigo and Orihime converse after Ichigo's fight with Byakuya.
4. Rukia bringing Ichigo to Orihime.
5. Karin saying "Unless Ichigo brings a girl home like Orihime, I won't be shocked" or something like that XD
6. Matsumoto telling Orihime that Ichigo meeds Rukia AND her.

But anyways, if they do ruin it... well at least there will still be footage for AMV's and well that's the anime. Not the real thing. XD But yeah, I don't want it ruined! :D

And I'm done with one of my entries for the contest! *happy* I'm tired though... so I'll continue working on the other one tomorrow. *sighs* :)

And I'm excited for this week's chapter, but I'm not hoping too much on the whole IchiHime thing 'cause we already got blessed for almost two months and even though more ichiHime would be nice, but Kubo already gets my cookies. :) So I wouldn't get mad and angry if this chapter wasn't IchiHime. :)

I am looking forward to Chapter 239 because I think we will see Orihime fight Tesla. Orihime doesn't fight back when someone attacks her but I think she is going to fight this time because Ichigo is hurt and she wants to protect him.

Noitora/Grimm/Ichigo/Orihime:

Yays, Grimm's alive!!! :love:love:love And even more yays for Ichigo, who made sure of that! XD What a kind, fair hero we have.

Noitora kicks ass still (it's all about that awesome scyth...) even though initially I was pissed he was going to fight Ichigo cuz I didn't want Ichigo to have to fight another Espada. But I've since gotten used to the idea. **sigh*

Now's the time for Orihime to use those skillz Tatsuki taught her and get out of Tesla's hold! :p The poor girl didn't even see him coming before he forced her to the ground.

As for the fight in general, I'm curious as to who or what will intervene in the next chapter and save Ichigo's sorry behind. :D I'm up for anything/anyone at this point^^ I really do think someone/thing is going to block Noi's attack, instead of Ichigo defending himself.

Szayel/Renji/Ishida:

LMAO!!! I find it utterly laughable that people were complaining about Ichigo and Grimmjow's fight being "way too long" when Renji's (and later/now Ishida's) fight with Szayel started over 20 chapters ago! (it began 264/265) And now it's "officially" on Act 2, with Szayel finally releasing. I wonder if we'll get another spaced out, 20 chapters to finally finish him off! XDDD I also wonder if people will start complaining about this fight too, if it drags on any longer, or is it just the fights with both Ichigo and Orihime??? And I STILL swear that Szayel stole Renji's cape...he just spiced it up a bit to look more like the ones in Naruto. :rotflmao (I checked back to see what Renji's cape looks like, and sadly they're not the same:( Oh well, I can still imagine. XD)

Although I watched the anime and thought it was cute Orihime had a crush on Ichigo when she bumped into him at school, I didn't think further about them. I got started reading the manga beginning around Chapter 220 because I was a big HitsugayaxHinamori fan and I was looking to see if KB would include more scenes of them together. So then I stumbled upon Orihime's confession in Chapter 236 and got hooked. Then I started buying the manga (I am slowly building my collection) and realized I had been missing out on some really cute Orihime and Ichigo moments.

Here are some thoughts of the chapter that I posted at FLOL. I'll make a better one to post at the manga section (ship free of-course) as these are just quick things I jotted down for FLOL and the FC.

From Mangashare, translation by Carlos Net I think. First and foremost, Grimmjow's alive, *fangirls* I'll reserve my love for him in the Grimm FC.

Next, love that Orihime was going to protect Ichigo, but was stopped by Tesla. Not good that she's being roughly handled again, but sure as heck gave us a great reaction from Ichigo. I totally loved that he still was looking at Tesla when he said, "Get your hands off Inoue!" That has more of a "possessive" feel to it (like get your hands off my woman :p) than a simple "let go of Inoue". Is that a good translation of that part or did the translator want to make it imply the former possessive feel? Either way, Ichigo really can't concentrate when he's worried about Orihime. That's consistent of him, BTW. From Chapter 2 or 3 we learned that he always worries about her. No difference here. It's telling that when Orihime is in good condition, Ichigo feels stronger. When she's down, he's down.

Lastly, Renji and Ishida are back, yey! And they aren't lame for hanging around and waiting for Zsayel's fashion show. Also, Ishida was talking to Peshe when he said they were there to save Orihime. Okay, is it one of those Japanese plural/singular stuff again when he said, "Our objective is to rescue Inoue-san, not to defeat the Espada!" Just that line shows that it wasn't just Ishida who said he was there to rescue Orihime, but Renji as well. Renji's also in the lead, and he also said that they have to help Rukia and Chad on the way. I like that Ishida reserved his loving look for them. XD Ah anyway, great chapter, can't wait to see next week.

It is nice how Ichigo and Orihime, are so in tune with each other's feelings and act the same way (like after the fight with Ulqui and Yammy, and in this fight with Grimmjow) :love Has there ever been a time when Ichigo wasn't happy and Orihime was, and/or vice versa?

Okay, here it is: (Warning for both of them being OOC <- I hate that and didn't notice until after I re read it... but yeah)

A Private Birthday
Surprisingly, it was a rainy day and the sky was so dark that the street lights had been lit up to guide the people who were walking on the sidewalks. Inoue Orihime sat at her table staring at the calendar hanging on her wall near the window. A small smile was set on her face and her hands were neatly resting on her lap.

The latest episode of the anime, Naruto, was playing on her small color television but the girl wasn’t paying attention to it. It just served the purpose to keep the quiet out and give the girl some company, even if it was just the television. Getting up, Orihime walked to her kitchen and got out some baking utensils. This was going to be the first time she baked something… normal.

While shopping for the ingredients she needed, she’d come across easy to make cake kits but she felt that if she were to buy them, the feeling wouldn’t be the same as if she made it herself. So she’d ignored the boxes and continued on her way to buy the fresh products.

Now, Orihime stood in her kitchen staring at her oven with a smile on her face. The chocolate cake seemed to be rising perfectly and the smell was delicious! The second she took in a sniff, her stomach began growling. Oh, how she wanted to take a small bite of it and savor it! Turning around, Orihime decided to go and finish getting ready. She still needed to take a shower as well as get dressed!

The girl set the timer for when the oven would turn itself off before walking out to her bathroom and turning on the shower head. In an hour or so, she’d be ready and then she’d finish decorating the cake and then, it would party time!

It was two in the afternoon and the rain was still falling. The streets were now empty and the sky was still dark, a lot of houses had their lights on and it looked like a peaceful rainy night in Karakura town.

Inside the Inoue residence, Orihime finished brushing her hair and regarded herself in the mirror. Her white dress with yellow polk-a-dots fit her quite well and she liked how her breasts looked in them. Not too big, just perfect! She picked up her hairpins and clipped her hair into place, before smiling at her reflection.

“Yosh! Now, we’re off to decorate the cake, and then we sing Happy Birthday and then we eat!” It was amazing how cheerful she was considering the weather outside. “Afterwards, we’ll dance the night away and open presents!” At this, her smile faded for an instant before it appeared once more.

Orihime walked out of the bathroom and went into the kitchen, to take out the cake and let it cool off on the counter. It smelled delicious and she could not wait to eat it! Since it was her first time doing this, she hoped it tasted good and that it wasn’t missing anything. That would be bad!

She got out the icing and began decorating the chocolate cake. Walking to the fridge, Orihime got out a box of fresh strawberries and began slicing them carefully, before placing them on top of the cake. She managed to spell out, HAPPY BIRTHDAY with the slices but she noticed that she only had three more pieces left. Pouting, the girl decided to just leave it with those two words and just eat the remaining strawberries. Besides, she knew the name that was supposed to go down there and it was the thought that counted, right?

Finishing up the cake, Orihime carefully brought it over to the table and placed it down. She ran back to get a candle and gently inserted in above between Happy and Birthday. Standing up and taking a step back, Orihime studied her creation and nodded with satisfaction. Clapping her hands together, Orihime looked out the window at the gloomy sky and smiled.

“Happy Birthday, Kurosaki-kun! May you have many more wonderful birthdays and may you continue to live a long and healthy life!” Her smile disappeared and she just stood there, staring out the window at the falling rain. “I hope you’re having fun with Kuchiki-san and the others.”

Walking over to the television, she turned it off and picked up a small gift wrapped box that had a small sticker that read: To: Kurosaki-kun, From: I. Orihime. The paper was decorated with small swords that kind of resembled Zangetsu.

“I’ll have to wait for the school year to start before I can give you this…” Orihime walked back to the table and sat down on the floor, in front of the cake with the unlit candle on it. She placed the present on the table beside the cake and picked up the lighter. Right when she was about to light the candle, a knock at the door came.

Getting up, Orihime dusted her lap and walked over to the door. She opened the door and her eyes widened in surprise. “K-Kurosaki-kun… what are you doing here?” she asked, taking a step back from the door.

A soaking wet Ichigo stood at her door, a sad expression on his face. A thunder clap rolled not too far from them and it made Orihime jump, but Ichigo did not move he just stood there.

“Ano, Kurosaki-kun?”

“Inoue, why didn’t you come to my house today?” he asked in his normal tone. His expression had now changed and he’d lifted an eyebrow up, waiting for her reply.

Orihime averted her gaze to the side and bit the inside of her cheek. Why hadn’t she gone? He’d told her the day before when she was buying the ingredients for his cake. He’d invited her to his house for a family and friends gathering they were having for his birthday. She had smiled and said she’d be there, but she had lied. Truth was, Orihime did not have any intentions to go to Ichigo’s birthday celebration but how could she tell him that? So instead, she’d just lied and smiled before watching Ichigo turn around and leave. The guilt had been sinking deeper and deeper but there was nothing she could do… well except go to his birthday celebration but she didn’t want to…

“Gomen, Kurosaki-kun,” she said, feeling guilty as well as stupid. “I...”

“Is that a cake?”

“Eh?” Orihime looked at what he was looking at, and sure enough, he was eyeing the cake she’d made for his birthday. “Hai…” It’s for your birthday…

Stepping aside, Orihime let Ichigo enter her apartment and watched as he walked over to the table and continued looking at the cake and his present.

“Is this for me?” Ichigo glanced back at her, holding the small gift in his hands and pointing at the cake.

“Eto…” Orihime slowly closed the door behind her and averted her gaze to the floor. What could she say to not make it sound creepy? I mean, who baked a cake and had a present for a person that wasn’t even there? “Ano… yes, it’s for you.” Orihime smiled weakly as she made her way over to him.

Ichigo studied her for a brief moment before looking back at the cake and his gift. Orihime tried to read his expression but for that moment, it was unreadable and right there and then she wanted to do anything to get inside his head and know what he was thinking. A lot of things were flying in her head and she hoped that none of them were really what he was thinking.

“Is this why you didn’t go to my house?” Ichigo’s voice normal but if you listened closely, you could hear a bit of sadness in it.

Oh no… “Kurosaki-kun, I was going to go… but then I…” Orihime noticed that Ichigo was now sitting on the floor in front of the cake, so she did the same and took a seat a foot away from him. “I just didn’t want to ruin the happy environment you were going to be in at your house.” She sighed and moved her attention to her chocolate cake. That was the truth. Going to Ichigo’s house and seeing him with Rukia would have hurt her more than she already was. She didn’t hate Rukia, in face the other girl was one of her best friends, but to see two people that you loved together just hurt.

“Inoue,” Orihime looked up at him and she was a bit surprised to see the expression he had. “How can you say that?” He scooted a bit closer to Orihime but the girl stayed in her place, frozen. “Ruining the happy environment? What are you talking about? Everyone was there, Inoue… except you.” At this, Ichigo looked away from her and his gaze was now on the raining world outside the window. “You not being there ruined the happy environment… Actually, there was never a happy environment in the first place.” A soft red hue appeared on his cheeks but the boy quickly turned his head away from Orihime. “Inoue, that’s why I came here, because… well… you weren’t there and I was worried that something had happened to you because you weren’t there even though you said you were going to be.” Ichigo’s face was still turned away and Orihime wondered if he was okay, but what he was saying was making her feel so warm inside.

“I’m sorry,” she said, her eyes on her hands on her lap. “I didn’t intend to make you worry about me, Kurosaki-kun.”

“Thanks.”

Orihime looked up not expecting Ichigo to be looking at her with a smile on his face. “For what?” she asked, her eyes searching his face.

“For your birthday surprise.” Ichigo then got the lighter and lit the candle, before scooting over and patting the place beside him. “Come on Inoue get closer to see me blow out the candle.”

Nodding, Orihime scooted over to him and sat up straight, her eyes on the now lit candle. In a way, Orihime was very happy to know that she was here celebrating Ichigo’s birthday with him, but the other side of her was confused and wondering why Ichigo had gone from serious to happy.

At that moment, Ichigo began singing. “Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me…”

Orihime looked up at him and smiled. “Happy Birthday, Kurosaki-kun! Happy Birthday to you!” And she continued to smile as Ichigo closed his eyes for a second before opening them and blowing out the candle. The smell of burned candle wick met Orihime’s nose, so she just waved the smell away with her hand.

“I’ll go get the knife-“ She was interrupted when two arms were suddenly wrapped around her. “Kurosaki-kun?” her eyes wide and she was tense but after a moment she relaxed, but her expression was still a startled one. What was wrong? She wondered.

“Thank you, Inoue, this means a lot to me.” Orihime listened and felt her breath catch. “Don’t take this the wrong way, but I’m glad you didn’t come to my house. ‘Cause then I wouldn’t have come to your house and found you here.” The orange haired boy then pulled away and turned his face away from her. “Sorry…”

Speechless, that’s how Orihime was at the moment. Totally speechless. What could she say? So instead, the girl got up and went inside the kitchen to get the knife. Her mind was blank and she felt as though she was an empty vessel just floating there. As she walked back to the same spot she had been in, she saw Ichigo staring at the gift in his hand. It was still wrapped and Orihime wondered if he’d open it.

Without saying anything, Orihime went back on her knees and commenced on cutting the cake she’d baked for this special occasion. What happened next shocked Orihime. From the corner of her eye she saw Ichigo move and right when she turned to face him, she felt his lips on hers.

The kiss seemed to last for a few seconds before Ichigo pulled away and quickly stood up. “I’m sorry, Inoue! I meant to kiss you on the cheek… not on the lips!” His face was red and his expression just made Orihime giggle.

She was surprised as well and her eyes had been wide and if it hadn’t been for his expression she wouldn’t have laughed. Getting up, Orihime shook her head. “It’s okay, Kurosaki-kun,” her face was hot and she wondered if she was as red as he was. “It’s okay, really.” She smiled at him and didn’t know what to do. Should she just go back to cutting the cake? Or should she go into the kitchen? And then, it hit her. Her face got even hotter and a inner voice was telling her not to do it, but now was perfect, right? With the small smile still on her face, Orihime closed the distance between them and kissed him on the lips.

“Happy Birthday, Kurosaki-kun,” she said, as she stepped back and smiled. Before he could say anything, Orihime turned around and went back to continue to cut the cake. Her face was still hot and she didn’t know what else to do or say, so cutting the cake was a good idea. What would he say? What about Kuchiki-san? Well right now that didn’t matter, right? It was just him and her here at the moment.

“Next year, I hope to get another private birthday party like this one.” Ichigo was still stand in the same spot Orihime had left him in after kissing him. Except this time his left hand was behind his head and he was gazing out the window. You could still see the pink in his cheeks and Orihime just smiled because it made him look even cuter.

“Okay, Kurosaki-kun. Here’s your cake,” she said, extending her hand out to hand him his slice of cake. “Happy Birthday.”

Ichigo looked down at her and for a moment just stared at her as if she was the most amazing thing in the world, when he realized what he was doing he blinked and nodded before taking the cake. “Thanks.”

Everything was well and peaceful and then Orihime remembered something.

“Eh, Kurosaki-kun, you’re still soaking wet… you’ll get sick if you don’t go change.”

“Ah! You’re right… I don’t have dry clothes though…”

“I can let you borrow some of my t-shirts and skirts while your clothes dry.” Orihime got up and went into her cupboard and got out a few attires. “This one will be good for you.”

Ichigo just stared at her and shook his head in embarrassment. How did the moment go from sweet to this?

“Here Kurosaki-kun,” Orihime handed him a bundle and smiled at him. “I’ll turn around and you can change.”

Ichigo just stared at her and felt his face get hot again for the hundredth time. “I-It’s okay…”

“I don’t want you to get sick on your birthday. If it makes you feel better, I’ll step outside while you change, ne?” The brown haired girl was about to go when Ichigo grabbed her arm and stopped her.

“No, it’s okay. I’ll just change in your bathroom.” And with that, he walked off to the restroom to change into the clothes she’d given him.

“Oh! The bathroom… I forgot I had one of those.” Orihime nodded. “Alright, I’ll be waiting out here.” Orihime watched as he closed the door and she felt so happy at that moment. “Arigatou, Kurosaki-kun, for being how you are,” and at the thought of Ichigo’s lips and what had happened before made her grow warm in the face again. She’d kissed him! And he hadn’t said anything… Orihime’s smile brightened up even more and a sense of calmness seemed to have settled inside of her. “Happy Birthday, Kurosaki-kun,” she said again, as she began cutting another piece of cake.

I hate the ending thing... I wanted to cut it way up there but it didn't want to be finished. So yeah... afterwards I lost inspiration 'cause I didn't know what else to do. lol Well all Orihime and Ichigo wanted to was make out and stuff but I didn't want to make them even more OOC than they already are. So yeah.

And I agree with your latter point. Polls are usually influenced by canon's current story-line, right? So I do think the HM-characters will figure in this current poll.

Actually, I do agree with you that current story-line are very influence the poll, though I think new charecters that would make it Top 10 still less than five. Kubo introduced us lots of new charecters in this arc, but there're very few that have actual plot development on them. Among these new charecters, I guess most likely new charecters that'll be ranked in Top 10 are Ulquiorra and Grimmjow.

At the very least, I'm pretty sure Ulquiorra and Grimmjow will make it to the top ten. Ulquiorra's been given a lot of screen time with Orihime and Grimmjow's backstory is, I think, the most elaborate from the HM-characters that we've seen so far (or isn't it?)

I was planning to ask people to list things they want to see Orihime (with or without Ichigo) do (like, say, Orihime making a strawberry costume for Ichigo or something) and compile this list so people can pick a specific thing to draw/write/make media for or something but I'm not sure people are going to be into that, haha!

Yeah. I guess I'll just ask people to do something and end it there. :p

Lady O, thanks for coloring and posting! Hime-chan, can't believe you scrapped that, I think you did a great job with Ichigo and Orihime, love their position as well, but it would be better if you had Orihime straddling Ichigo. XD I always loved that color spread where both Ichigo and Orihime were fighting side by side. Foreshadowing of things to come in HM I hope. I want Orihime to take Tesla down! :D

Okay, here it is: (Warning for both of them being OOC <- I hate that and didn't notice until after I re read it... but yeah)

A Private Birthday
Surprisingly, it was a rainy day and the sky was so dark that the street lights had been lit up to guide the people who were walking on the sidewalks. Inoue Orihime sat at her table staring at the calendar hanging on her wall near the window. A small smile was set on her face and her hands were neatly resting on her lap.

The latest episode of the anime, Naruto, was playing on her small color television but the girl wasn’t paying attention to it. It just served the purpose to keep the quiet out and give the girl some company, even if it was just the television. Getting up, Orihime walked to her kitchen and got out some baking utensils. This was going to be the first time she baked something… normal.

While shopping for the ingredients she needed, she’d come across easy to make cake kits but she felt that if she were to buy them, the feeling wouldn’t be the same as if she made it herself. So she’d ignored the boxes and continued on her way to buy the fresh products.

Now, Orihime stood in her kitchen staring at her oven with a smile on her face. The chocolate cake seemed to be rising perfectly and the smell was delicious! The second she took in a sniff, her stomach began growling. Oh, how she wanted to take a small bite of it and savor it! Turning around, Orihime decided to go and finish getting ready. She still needed to take a shower as well as get dressed!

The girl set the timer for when the oven would turn itself off before walking out to her bathroom and turning on the shower head. In an hour or so, she’d be ready and then she’d finish decorating the cake and then, it would party time!

It was two in the afternoon and the rain was still falling. The streets were now empty and the sky was still dark, a lot of houses had their lights on and it looked like a peaceful rainy night in Karakura town.

Inside the Inoue residence, Orihime finished brushing her hair and regarded herself in the mirror. Her white dress with yellow polk-a-dots fit her quite well and she liked how her breasts looked in them. Not too big, just perfect! She picked up her hairpins and clipped her hair into place, before smiling at her reflection.

“Yosh! Now, we’re off to decorate the cake, and then we sing Happy Birthday and then we eat!” It was amazing how cheerful she was considering the weather outside. “Afterwards, we’ll dance the night away and open presents!” At this, her smile faded for an instant before it appeared once more.

Orihime walked out of the bathroom and went into the kitchen, to take out the cake and let it cool off on the counter. It smelled delicious and she could not wait to eat it! Since it was her first time doing this, she hoped it tasted good and that it wasn’t missing anything. That would be bad!

She got out the icing and began decorating the chocolate cake. Walking to the fridge, Orihime got out a box of fresh strawberries and began slicing them carefully, before placing them on top of the cake. She managed to spell out, HAPPY BIRTHDAY with the slices but she noticed that she only had three more pieces left. Pouting, the girl decided to just leave it with those two words and just eat the remaining strawberries. Besides, she knew the name that was supposed to go down there and it was the thought that counted, right?

Finishing up the cake, Orihime carefully brought it over to the table and placed it down. She ran back to get a candle and gently inserted in above between Happy and Birthday. Standing up and taking a step back, Orihime studied her creation and nodded with satisfaction. Clapping her hands together, Orihime looked out the window at the gloomy sky and smiled.

“Happy Birthday, Kurosaki-kun! May you have many more wonderful birthdays and may you continue to live a long and healthy life!” Her smile disappeared and she just stood there, staring out the window at the falling rain. “I hope you’re having fun with Kuchiki-san and the others.”

Walking over to the television, she turned it off and picked up a small gift wrapped box that had a small sticker that read: To: Kurosaki-kun, From: I. Orihime. The paper was decorated with small swords that kind of resembled Zangetsu.

“I’ll have to wait for the school year to start before I can give you this…” Orihime walked back to the table and sat down on the floor, in front of the cake with the unlit candle on it. She placed the present on the table beside the cake and picked up the lighter. Right when she was about to light the candle, a knock at the door came.

Getting up, Orihime dusted her lap and walked over to the door. She opened the door and her eyes widened in surprise. “K-Kurosaki-kun… what are you doing here?” she asked, taking a step back from the door.

A soaking wet Ichigo stood at her door, a sad expression on his face. A thunder clap rolled not too far from them and it made Orihime jump, but Ichigo did not move he just stood there.

“Ano, Kurosaki-kun?”

“Inoue, why didn’t you come to my house today?” he asked in his normal tone. His expression had now changed and he’d lifted an eyebrow up, waiting for her reply.

Orihime averted her gaze to the side and bit the inside of her cheek. Why hadn’t she gone? He’d told her the day before when she was buying the ingredients for his cake. He’d invited her to his house for a family and friends gathering they were having for his birthday. She had smiled and said she’d be there, but she had lied. Truth was, Orihime did not have any intentions to go to Ichigo’s birthday celebration but how could she tell him that? So instead, she’d just lied and smiled before watching Ichigo turn around and leave. The guilt had been sinking deeper and deeper but there was nothing she could do… well except go to his birthday celebration but she didn’t want to…

“Gomen, Kurosaki-kun,” she said, feeling guilty as well as stupid. “I...”

“Is that a cake?”

“Eh?” Orihime looked at what he was looking at, and sure enough, he was eyeing the cake she’d made for his birthday. “Hai…” It’s for your birthday…

Stepping aside, Orihime let Ichigo enter her apartment and watched as he walked over to the table and continued looking at the cake and his present.

“Is this for me?” Ichigo glanced back at her, holding the small gift in his hands and pointing at the cake.

“Eto…” Orihime slowly closed the door behind her and averted her gaze to the floor. What could she say to not make it sound creepy? I mean, who baked a cake and had a present for a person that wasn’t even there? “Ano… yes, it’s for you.” Orihime smiled weakly as she made her way over to him.

Ichigo studied her for a brief moment before looking back at the cake and his gift. Orihime tried to read his expression but for that moment, it was unreadable and right there and then she wanted to do anything to get inside his head and know what he was thinking. A lot of things were flying in her head and she hoped that none of them were really what he was thinking.

“Is this why you didn’t go to my house?” Ichigo’s voice normal but if you listened closely, you could hear a bit of sadness in it.

Oh no… “Kurosaki-kun, I was going to go… but then I…” Orihime noticed that Ichigo was now sitting on the floor in front of the cake, so she did the same and took a seat a foot away from him. “I just didn’t want to ruin the happy environment you were going to be in at your house.” She sighed and moved her attention to her chocolate cake. That was the truth. Going to Ichigo’s house and seeing him with Rukia would have hurt her more than she already was. She didn’t hate Rukia, in face the other girl was one of her best friends, but to see two people that you loved together just hurt.

“Inoue,” Orihime looked up at him and she was a bit surprised to see the expression he had. “How can you say that?” He scooted a bit closer to Orihime but the girl stayed in her place, frozen. “Ruining the happy environment? What are you talking about? Everyone was there, Inoue… except you.” At this, Ichigo looked away from her and his gaze was now on the raining world outside the window. “You not being there ruined the happy environment… Actually, there was never a happy environment in the first place.” A soft red hue appeared on his cheeks but the boy quickly turned his head away from Orihime. “Inoue, that’s why I came here, because… well… you weren’t there and I was worried that something had happened to you because you weren’t there even though you said you were going to be.” Ichigo’s face was still turned away and Orihime wondered if he was okay, but what he was saying was making her feel so warm inside.

“I’m sorry,” she said, her eyes on her hands on her lap. “I didn’t intend to make you worry about me, Kurosaki-kun.”

“Thanks.”

Orihime looked up not expecting Ichigo to be looking at her with a smile on his face. “For what?” she asked, her eyes searching his face.

“For your birthday surprise.” Ichigo then got the lighter and lit the candle, before scooting over and patting the place beside him. “Come on Inoue get closer to see me blow out the candle.”

Nodding, Orihime scooted over to him and sat up straight, her eyes on the now lit candle. In a way, Orihime was very happy to know that she was here celebrating Ichigo’s birthday with him, but the other side of her was confused and wondering why Ichigo had gone from serious to happy.

At that moment, Ichigo began singing. “Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me…”

Orihime looked up at him and smiled. “Happy Birthday, Kurosaki-kun! Happy Birthday to you!” And she continued to smile as Ichigo closed his eyes for a second before opening them and blowing out the candle. The smell of burned candle wick met Orihime’s nose, so she just waved the smell away with her hand.

“I’ll go get the knife-“ She was interrupted when two arms were suddenly wrapped around her. “Kurosaki-kun?” her eyes wide and she was tense but after a moment she relaxed, but her expression was still a startled one. What was wrong? She wondered.

“Thank you, Inoue, this means a lot to me.” Orihime listened and felt her breath catch. “Don’t take this the wrong way, but I’m glad you didn’t come to my house. ‘Cause then I wouldn’t have come to your house and found you here.” The orange haired boy then pulled away and turned his face away from her. “Sorry…”

Speechless, that’s how Orihime was at the moment. Totally speechless. What could she say? So instead, the girl got up and went inside the kitchen to get the knife. Her mind was blank and she felt as though she was an empty vessel just floating there. As she walked back to the same spot she had been in, she saw Ichigo staring at the gift in his hand. It was still wrapped and Orihime wondered if he’d open it.

Without saying anything, Orihime went back on her knees and commenced on cutting the cake she’d baked for this special occasion. What happened next shocked Orihime. From the corner of her eye she saw Ichigo move and right when she turned to face him, she felt his lips on hers.

The kiss seemed to last for a few seconds before Ichigo pulled away and quickly stood up. “I’m sorry, Inoue! I meant to kiss you on the cheek… not on the lips!” His face was red and his expression just made Orihime giggle.

She was surprised as well and her eyes had been wide and if it hadn’t been for his expression she wouldn’t have laughed. Getting up, Orihime shook her head. “It’s okay, Kurosaki-kun,” her face was hot and she wondered if she was as red as he was. “It’s okay, really.” She smiled at him and didn’t know what to do. Should she just go back to cutting the cake? Or should she go into the kitchen? And then, it hit her. Her face got even hotter and a inner voice was telling her not to do it, but now was perfect, right? With the small smile still on her face, Orihime closed the distance between them and kissed him on the lips.

“Happy Birthday, Kurosaki-kun,” she said, as she stepped back and smiled. Before he could say anything, Orihime turned around and went back to continue to cut the cake. Her face was still hot and she didn’t know what else to do or say, so cutting the cake was a good idea. What would he say? What about Kuchiki-san? Well right now that didn’t matter, right? It was just him and her here at the moment.

“Next year, I hope to get another private birthday party like this one.” Ichigo was still stand in the same spot Orihime had left him in after kissing him. Except this time his left hand was behind his head and he was gazing out the window. You could still see the pink in his cheeks and Orihime just smiled because it made him look even cuter.

“Okay, Kurosaki-kun. Here’s your cake,” she said, extending her hand out to hand him his slice of cake. “Happy Birthday.”

Ichigo looked down at her and for a moment just stared at her as if she was the most amazing thing in the world, when he realized what he was doing he blinked and nodded before taking the cake. “Thanks.”

Everything was well and peaceful and then Orihime remembered something.

“Eh, Kurosaki-kun, you’re still soaking wet… you’ll get sick if you don’t go change.”

“Ah! You’re right… I don’t have dry clothes though…”

“I can let you borrow some of my t-shirts and skirts while your clothes dry.” Orihime got up and went into her cupboard and got out a few attires. “This one will be good for you.”

Ichigo just stared at her and shook his head in embarrassment. How did the moment go from sweet to this?

“Here Kurosaki-kun,” Orihime handed him a bundle and smiled at him. “I’ll turn around and you can change.”

Ichigo just stared at her and felt his face get hot again for the hundredth time. “I-It’s okay…”

“I don’t want you to get sick on your birthday. If it makes you feel better, I’ll step outside while you change, ne?” The brown haired girl was about to go when Ichigo grabbed her arm and stopped her.

“No, it’s okay. I’ll just change in your bathroom.” And with that, he walked off to the restroom to change into the clothes she’d given him.

“Oh! The bathroom… I forgot I had one of those.” Orihime nodded. “Alright, I’ll be waiting out here.” Orihime watched as he closed the door and she felt so happy at that moment. “Arigatou, Kurosaki-kun, for being how you are,” and at the thought of Ichigo’s lips and what had happened before made her grow warm in the face again. She’d kissed him! And he hadn’t said anything… Orihime’s smile brightened up even more and a sense of calmness seemed to have settled inside of her. “Happy Birthday, Kurosaki-kun,” she said again, as she began cutting another piece of cake.

I hate the ending thing... I wanted to cut it way up there but it didn't want to be finished. So yeah... afterwards I lost inspiration 'cause I didn't know what else to do. lol Well all Orihime and Ichigo wanted to was make out and stuff but I didn't want to make them even more OOC than they already are. So yeah.

Well even though 90% of the time I never like my fics and never finish them, I'm writing one for Orihime's birthday and was planning to do something like what you said up there. I planned for it to be funny! But who knows. Let's cross our fingers and hope I finish it! XD

Actually, A Private Birthday is finished. That was the finished product... So I'm glad that I only have like three more unfinished fics... one of them being a Naruto one and the other one is a Mature IchiHime one that takes place a few chapters back. ^^ The last one is the one where Orihime is pregnant... lol I know Lady Orihime wants me to finish that one. XD I'm working on it! lol

Hehe...Ichigo got hit twice by nell from the last chapter and now Orihime is getting shut up by some other dude and hopefully things can get better for Ichigo and Orihime here...For more detail..I think the battle of Ichigo VS Grimmjow really opened me up more of IchiXHime than back in the past when I didn't get into it a bit more for all the months I was in school and stuff..anyways..I just hope things get better and hope Nell and other dudes get okay and stuff and Ichigo wins this fight and save Orihime and someday defeat freakin' Aizen so they can all go back HOME!!!

Yeah, AnimeGirlPan I remember how you did join IchiHime back at BF, but wasn't as active because of school, etc. So it's been great to see you post so much here and make awesome banners and avatars for the pairing. Kubo's been making a lot of IchiHime fans lately thanks to 11 chapters in a row of IchiHime goodness.

Chapter 286 revisited, can't help but see the difference in Ichigo the moment he and Orihime stared at each other. There was no sense of urgency any more within him, like the weight of the world was lifted. Her confirmation that she was uninjured lifted his spirits and he said as much that he was glad she wasn't injured. When he told Orihime about saving Chad and Rukia, he didn't have a worried or scowling look. His friends were at death's door and his expression didn't show anything about the urgency of the situation. It was almost business as usual expression. However, the moment he thought Orihime was threatened again (when Grimmjow stood up), Ichigo was back to his serious protective self. Gone was the carefree look he had while he was carrying Orihime.

Anyway, I'm not sure we're going to get to see Ichigo or Orihime in chapter 288. I feel like Kubo has to finish up Renji and Ishida's fight with Szayel first. But poor Ichigo, having to face back to back Espada. I don't think he and Orihime will be saving Chad and Rukia anytime soon.

I agree KT is going to wrap up the Renji/Ishida vs. Szayel fight in the next chapter or so. With Ichigo having to fight Nnoitra, I think it's likely the case that Renji and Ishida will get to Rukia and Chad first. I am looking forward to Renji and Rukia's reunion.

I think we might get a break from Ichigo next chapter, Kubo is fond of focusing on one fight per chapter and I think seeing as Szayel is releasing it's going to be that fight.

On note of my entry for the Hallowe'en contest, I am now at maybe 9% complete. Finished inking the main parts of the last page and just need to touch up the details and add colour. I hope I'm not needed for work on Friday, then I could focus on completing it. (which will only be 1 page down 6 more to go.. 0_o)

Hey EternalDream, here's stuff I had saved from BF IchiHime FC on the Tanabata. The first one is about the Privaron, though I was really coming from left field on that one. Second one includes the stars, etc.
Well the Tanabata is where Kubo got his inspiration for Orihime. However we're hoping Kubo doesn't adhere too closely to the story 'cause otherwise Ichigo and Orihime, despite being madly in love, end up separated except for one day of the year (7th day of the 7th month) where they are allowed to meet. Oh and Ichigo has to take care of their two kids. Romantic, but sad!

As for how I see this will play out in this arc...well I sort of mentioned it in a previous post. In the Tanabata, the boatman of the moon ferries Orihime over to meet her beloved. However, when it rains the boatman doesn't come. When that happens, magpies fly to the Milky Way to make a bridge for Orihime to cross. How does this relate to the chapter? Well when Aiddon had mentioned about Orihime's fairies leading Ichigo to Orihime I thought of the magpies. The fairies could represent the magpies and guide Ichigo to Orihime (figuratively bridging them together).

Or on a sort of related note, I found it curious that the first release of Doldoni resembled birds or swans. If all other Privaron Espada have something birdlike about them or their releases, I'm going to place my bet on them as the "magpies" that will lead Ichigo to Orihime. But that is really, really stretching it, like "what the hell are you smoking" kind of stretching it. XDDDD Edited to add: Just remembered chapter 250 where Gin said, "nest of the Tres Cifras." Could that mean...nah, I'm still stretching it. XD
Yeah so Dordonii was really the only bird brain of the bunch, but it was exciting to think about at that time because the swan also is a constellation (Cygnus) and the star Deneb of the Summer Triangle happens to be part of that constellation.

Thanks for sharing Aiddon. That looks hot. Here's to Ichigo and Orihime's reunion to be just as. But that is just wishful thinking *writes wish on paper and ties to bamboo* Yes, I've been reading up on the Tanabata. The more I read about it, the more I fall in love with Orihime and Ichigo together. For people who needs a refresher, here's a crash course link:

So I changed the name of Kengyuu to Ichigo, but what's the difference. He protects cows, Ichigo protects people, same difference. XD

Love the references to the rain, how the lovers can't meet because of it. Also the wish for Orihime to hone her skills and work hard so she can meet Kengyuu is something that we saw in the manga with Orihime working hard to be stronger.

Going back to the star references, Orihime (Vega) and Ichigo (Altair) are the alpha stars of their respective constellations, Lyra and Aquila. Lyra (musical instrument lyre) is associated with Apollonian virtues of moderation and equilibrium, while Aquila stands for Eagle (remember Altair in Arabic meant flyer or part of the phrase flying Eagle, also referred to chapters 238 and 239 titles in v5). With Ichigo struggling with his inner hollow, what he needs the most is equilibrium, the balance of Yin (Ogihci) and Yang (Ichigo) to take place within himself. Orihime can help bring that balance that he needs in his life.

One more interesting note about the star Altair, it's known for its rapid rotation, it's equator completes a rotation in 6 1/2 hours compared to 25 days for our sun. That is fast! Sound like Ichigo who is known for his incredible speed in Bankai. These coincidental facts sometimes make me wonder if Kubo studied Astronomy...

In my original post on the stars in V5, I had placed Rukia as Deneb only because in some versions of the the Tanabata, Deneb is a fairy that acts as a chaperone for the two lovers when they meet at the bridge. In other versions, the bridge connects over Deneb. When Rukia came back in chapter 195-196, she beat Ichigo back to his senses. In that scene where she had Ichigo tell Orihime that he will become stronger to protect her, Rukia bridged that gap between them. Yes, Rukia ships IchiHime. XDDD

I'm still not sure if Deneb is Rukia though only because in Arabic, Deneb means "Tail of the Hen" or something like that. I feel like Rukia deserves a better "star name". However, the summer triangle could also involve the links to their power. If Rukia is Deneb, then she is linked to Ichigo/Altair because she "gave birth" or awakened his power. She is the mother/mentor persona. Ichigo/Altair is linked to Orihime/Vega because his proximity to her "gave birth" to her powers. I believe Orihime's fairies said as much, that they were "born because of him" (Refer to manga image from Annwyd's IchiHime Essay) . It's funny 'cause after reading that I thought, wow, Orihime and Ichigo already have 6 babies. How cute. XD

That said, I've also been playing around with the idea that Deneb could represent Zangetsu/Ogihci, the link between all three in the triangle based on power alone. But that's just me really grasping at straws.

***That makes me wonder how closely Kubo adheres to myths and folklore in his stories. If he does base Orihime and Ichigo on the Tanabata, then I hope the ending is happier in that they'll be together and not forever be separated. The good thing is, they have children together, the bad thing is, they can only meet up one night, on the seventh night of the seventh moon or something as some stories say.

BTW, the Chinese based the story of the Princess and the Cowherd on two stars Vega (Orihime - the weaver) and Altair (Ichigo for our purpose) that are separated by the milky way. Another connection can be made where Rukia fits in. The Summer Triangle (how appropo XD) consists of the stars Vega, Deneb and Altair. Deneb represents Rukia (for our purpose) and as the story goes, a bridge forms over Deneb between Vega and Altair so that the two lovers can meet. Fits since Rukia seems to be doing her best to make Ichigo focus on the task at hand, saving Orihime. Deneb in other stories is also a fairy that acts like a chaperone for the two lovers. That is so Rukia. XD Remember how she was the one who dragged Ichigo back to Orihime to apologize to her? So cute. And it's not the first time Rukia's referred to as a star (remember Renji's the Star and the Stray).

Another crazy tidbit regarding the stars Vega and Altair. Vega in Arabic means "The Falling Eagle" (think chapter 238 - Eagle Without Wings title) and Altair in arabic means "the Flyer" from the phrase "the Flying Eagle" (think chapter 239 Winged Eagles). Things that make you hmmmnnn. Or, I'm overthinking as usual. XDDDYeah, notice how Aiddon's always in the posts. There was a time where it was me and him who were the only ones who would keep the convo going at the FC. However now we've got so many fans here and at FLOL I don't need to post as much. Fandom explosion thanks to Kubo, woo! Oh and Haliparot was quoted. Notice how Hali liked to challenge my posts from time to time back then. XD I like that Kubo was influenced by the story of the Tanabata to portray Ichigo and Orihime's story. It really is about love that endures and lasts through lifetimes. But enough on essays and manifestos. It's great we have them, but nothing beats Kubo giving us lots of IchiHime moments in the last 11 chapters that people can't ignore.

Originally I was just going to add your stuffs into whatever section it was talking about, but your posts seem to be a class of their own so you get to have your very own little section! :3 I didn't do much research on Deneb outside of it's literal astrological existance, so it's nice how you went into Mythology and all that. ^________^

I now have the perfect way to fit Chad and Ishida into my lovely Mani but I don't have anything for Renji:( I wanted to see if there were any stars that went side by side with Deneb, but I don't think there are any.

Oh, and Lady O, I know you already posted the manifesto on the Site...(and I haven't checked it out yet so I don't know...) but I hope you didn't use the copy I sent you before I started posting the entire thing here and on FLOL. I've added/subtracted things (a lot more adding of course XD) and I'm still not done it seems! **falls over** I've gotta add Nocturne's lovely stuffs and then I need to rewrite a little section with 239: Winged Eagles. >:3

He's part of the Winter Triangle along with Betelgeuse and Procyon. Betelgeuse in Arabic means "hand of the central one". So he can represent Chad and Procyon which means "before the dog" can be Ishida. Nice how Ishida and Renji are now teaming up, and Renji also trained Chad before. No I'm not saying there's any romance in that triangle though some hope there will be. XD But that's just me doing a little plug and play with constellations and Bleach.

LOL Gamma can always represent Grimmjow (ZP reference). XD Tarazed the striking falcon (Grimm's last name means hunter, one who supplants) and Alshain, the beaming/pointing falcon. Ulquiorra points when he does his Cero. :D Also Ulquiorra's last name means boatman too so he fits into the equation well. Yey, more fun with stars!
