Well, being a symbolism nut I am, this will be fun (and long, probably)...

Oddly enough, foxes often play the roles of Incubi and Succubi in myth (Incubi and their female counterparts are "demons" that come to people in their sleep and, through passionate means, steal their life force). Foxes are often said to change into young men and seduce women for their own ends.

Rabbits are also well-known as the symbol of the moon for many cultures. The fox in Chinese myth represents the sun. And, like the moon and the sun (here comes Godell's descriptive side) the fox and the rabbit are always chasing the other in a continuous cycle.

If you want to read the symbolism about foxes for yourself, here is the book I found it in: Dictionary of Symbols. See if it's at your library or bookstore!

Ok, a lot of people ask me why do I like that pairing, except for the fact it's absurd and sadistic XD
Well, really, I don't have a reason or argumentation- it's obvious Rukia can't stand Gin, she really hates him, and he likes bother her and making her life miserable. There's no love or affection here- it's funny, sadictic and unlogical. That's why that's my fav sadistic crack. Even if they are together, it will all be like this- Rukia will never enjoy it and Gin will mentally torture her all the time XD

Well I like how its completely unconvential, and interesting, not like the usual sweet and quiet Girl likes boy, Boy eventually falls for her sort of thing, sunshine and flowers scene :hm

GinRuki, to me, seems more like some kind of dark emotional struggle, where Gin likes her, and does all kinds of mind torturing dark and evil deeds and whatnot, and as much as Rukia wants to hate him, she falls in love with him anyway, even though it's dangerous :wha

Plus, I do like both characters as an added bonus *Generally, I don't usually like both characters in my other shippings :XD

And it's a Rukia pairing :love

1). Gin arriving at Karakura High (in school uniform, of course) and bringing his Rukia-chan a bento box.

2). Oh, and stealing a kiss (or more behind the scenes) on the rooftop.

3). "Oh Rukia-chaaan~. Look what I bought!"
"I-Ichimaru! Is that a maid outfit?"
"Yup! An' I wantcha t' wear it for me!"
"...You're sick."
"But *pout* Wukia-chaaaaaan~!"
"...*blush* Fine. But I will have my revenge."
"*smirk* I don't doubt ya for a second."

4). As a sequel to the above scene (some episodes later, perhaps?) Gin and Rukia are helping Ichigo and Co. fight Hollows...and everyone can't help but laugh at the bunny ears atop Gin's head.

Honestly? I think that overcoming Gin would make Rukia overcome a lot of her flaws. His continued harrasement of her might make for her breaking point, allowing her to overcome some of her self hate issues and to grow as an individual. That's what I think.

Welcome GreenBlack-san! :3 I too enjoy the character development GinRuki might create! Maybe Kubo will give us a battle of wits between them and Rukia will redeem him and they will get married and have little Gins and Rukia-chans running around and they will climb all over Byakuya and call him Byah-Byah-Byah and perhaps we'll get some back story!

By the way, everyone, I found a new fic! It would appeal to many of the FCs here, without a doubt: basically, it's an AU where Rukia is offered the chance to make a Bachelorette-like Reality TV show in order to find "The One". I was a little skeptical about it at first, but I really got into it since it had a very large helping of GinRuki (and Rukia actually isn't too scared of him) with more to come! There's more than just that pairing though, obviously--in fact, there's a Ruki pairing for just about everyone!

"Crushcrushcrush" could fit with both of them. First, there's the line about "I noticed your eyes are always glued to me" (which fits Gin's amused feeling about Rukia's "fear" of him), and then there's the "If you want to play it like a game" line (which fits Rukia's distrust toward Gin's playful attitude).

Am I the only one who thinks that "Bon-Bon" (Senbonzakura) is androgynous? Zanpakuto are a part of a person's soul, and since the soul really has no set form--it changes constantly--then shouldn't it be able to change at whim?

Anyway, back on topic:

I think Izuru would consider Rukia a poor creature insnared in his Captain's clutches and also a little jealous. In my fic Truth Behind The Shepard Izuru was Rukia and Gin's paperboy of sorts, delivering Gin's "secret" messages to Rukia and Rukia's replies.

Oh, and he also got to witness their first time together in Deception (or at least as much as he could see and hear through the crack in the door)...the poor guy's a vital enough factor in GinRuki, I think.

I wonder if Izuru would be somewhat happy that Gin found someone attractive (besides Rangiku and Aizen)? Or would he be more worried about Rukia's heart and sanity?

it think he's on the fence about both.

for the "happy for Gin" thing:
i think he naturally wants his Captan to be happy, because it makes him happy to see Gin that way.
[and also, because it keeps Gin from being angry and possibly taking that anger out on him.]
but, he might be afraid of what may happen to the partner [or maybe even his relationship with his Captain].
[if Gin strays too far away from Izuru, he'll no longer be able to read Gin's movements and tell what he's doing, you know?

for the "worried about Rukia" thing:
Izuru has a good heart, so i think that causes him to want her to be safe and happy.
but, because he's not closely affiliated with her yet, i think that stops him from caring a whole lot.
