Welcome to the FC of the best character in Bleach, Grimmjow Jaegerjaques.
He may not be as strong as Ulquiorra, but he is still able to kick lots of butt.

Even if he's, as some might say, "merely" the Sexta Espada, he always impresses me and I hope you're viewing this fan club for the same reason, or at least because you like him. Because if he impresses you or you just like him, either send me a PM or post in this thread, and let me know you'd like to join. I've loved him ever since he first appeared. <3

Feel free to contribute banners, icons, fan art (with a PM if it's done by you), wallpapers (the same goes for this), anything...well almost.

Here are some rules and notes. Please read them.

①If you post, for example, Japanese fan art, it would be appreciated if you gave us a link to the site; not only so that the other members get to see more of the nice art there, but it also somehow works as a way to credit the artist. Same goes for wallpapers NOT done by you.

S.J.: ...Eh, hi how are you doing? I am the voice actor of Grimmjow Jaegarjaques, Suwabe Junichi. Thank you for listening to this Grimmjow CD! Personally I cannot imagine how Grimmjow would be singing, but this time I sang two songs, trying my best in cherishing 'Jow's image; how did you feel?

...Suwabe Junnichi pretends listening for a while.
Then he says, "It will be really great if you could feel Grimmjow in the song."

He goes on talking about how he was directed about acting the voice.

The direction was: "Just exactly how he('Jow) looks."
Of course everyone may have different images, so Suwabe took on "Power is Everything," which he had as 'Jow's obvious image.

"Straightforward, bare, viciousness. Like...the 'pressure' he has...or something similar...that force was what I tried to make."

As a character on wicked side, Suwabe says that it is an honor to face the protagonist head-on (Grimmjow was facing Ichigo both on manga and anime).
"However the original story(manga) turns out, I want to do(act) as if crushing Ichigo down for real."
Then he apologises to Ichigo fans.

Because BLEACH has the manga as its original story, anime will be following the same plot. In that, Suwabe wishes to act out a good drama with other characters.

"(I will) try acting even a little better, and the character who will be remembered... is what I want to raise(make) Grimmjow into."

"So please give your support/cheer(to me/us). If you don't..."

Grimm:" I will poke a hole on ya!!!"

"Thank you for listening."

Well, this may be a silly reason to like a character, but I like him because of his hair color, and because of his rivalry to Ichi-ni.

I also thought that the fight between the two of them were the fairest of all the fights in the series.

I agree with you, Eloni. His loneliness surprised me. The title of the chapter, alone, was surprising for Grimmjow. "Devouring Alone- The Solitude of the King" - so sad, yet interesting.
Him even getting a back story was unexpected. It was great, since that made Grimmjow more awesome and dynamic character than he already is.

And, I too, am awaiting Grimmjow's huge entrance. It's gotta be amazing, since all of Grimmjow's entrances are epic :) I refuse to believe he's dead. Hopefully the wait for his return won't be too long.

Thanks! I like Grimm because he's a pretty neat character. I love how he's out for himself, and how he makes no bones about it. I love how he plans to destroy everyone who looks down on him, and his rivalry with Ichigo, and all of that.

His most surprising thing I guess would be how he fought with Ulquiorra, albeit briefly. He didn't attack Aizen or the others and serves them because he knows he'd be crushed, is the feeling I got. So when he went after Ulqi, I got the feeling that perhaps Ulqi isn't as uberly powerful as I thought.

So, I forgot to mention why I liked Grimmjow in my intro. For me, it would have to be his unpredictability. Everything he does surprises me, which is why his scenes are so engaging. You never know what to except. That's why he better show up in the manga and soon.

I think the thing that most surprised me was his faith in Orihime's ability to heal Ichigo. When he told Nell to quit yelling and just watch, that was like WOW! It seemed to be more about respect for her, and not just that he had witnessed her powers first hand through heeling him. And his caring. I don't care what anybody says, Grimmjow just isn't going to bust down a wall to rescue anybody. Then he wrapped her hand in cloth before putting chains on them, and he shouted at Ichigo for not knowing what was going on with her at the moment. Even though I loved Grimmjow before all that when he was just a badass ready to kick ass and take names, I loved him even more when he showed that he wasn't just one dimensional.

I agree Orihime Aizen. I was especially surprised when Grimmjow wrapped Orihime's hands with a cloth before chaining them or even demanding she heal her face when he was dragging her away. I mean, seriously? This is the guy who almost killed Rukia twice and who destroyed Luppi within a couple seconds without any guilt. And for him to wrap her hands in a cloth was really strange, but did show that there is more to his character than meets the eye.

I think he stayed put where Ichigo left him.:D IMO Kubo showed us the dead Tesla and Nnoitra cuz he wanted to confirm that they are really dead, but he didn't show GJ cuz he's obviously not dead.:smug

That's why I refuse to believe he is dead, if Kubo wanted GJ to be considered dead he would have ended it with Ichigo putting him down on the sand. Yet we got that scene where Ichigo tries to talk sense into him and even after that it's not Ichigo, the great rival who 'gives him the final blow' but a random espada who just popped out of nowhere. Kubo wouldn't make GJ die like that for one, and for two with Ichigo's speech to him GJ has space to develop further. Not to mention the foreshadowed 'being indebted' thing.;)

I agree Eloni. He's not dead. I'm about 99% certain. If he were, they would have shown him dying or something along those lines. Plus, why would Kubo have Ichigo save his life, if GJ can't repay him, because he's dead. I'm still going with my, "Ichi will get his a$$ kicked by Ulqui, and then Grimmy will come and save the day" theory.

And, Orihime Aizen, I almost fell off my chair laughing, when you called Grimmjow, GrimmKat :rofl I have no idea why, I just never heard GJ called that.

Pogo2468, I have had that theory as well. In fact, I believe that I have posted it in the chapter discussions that the only way I will believe an Ichigo win over Ulq. is if Shirosaki comes out or if Grimmjow comes to save the day. :D

Exactly. Grimmjow is one of the few espadas who doesn't completely cater to what Aizen wants, unless Aizen forces him to. He also doesn't seem to like him. He's a total maniac, but he still has a sense of honor and dignity. He shows that when he makes Inoue heal Ichigo before fighting, by saving Inoue, and even making Inoue heal her face, so he doesn't walk around dragging a beat up girl. These instances show that GJ isn't like the other espada and that he isn't totally evil. However, that doesn't mean he'll turn good and by all "buddy-buddy" with Ichigo and his friends. He's not like Renji.
I think GJ will be an anti-heroish sort of character. He'll do things that will benefit him. He'll be involved in the battles and the war, but won't be on a specific side.

And, yes, the parallels with Kenpachi are uncanny. It's interesting to see some parallels involved with the Espada and SS characters. For example, Stark and Shunsui have been compared a lot, since both are strong and yet easy going. It also seems like Kenpachi and GJ are compared more and more, since both are very unpredictable and have a lust for fighting.

About the standards, I'm with Mira, I like characters for different reasons. I believe GJ aroused my interest when I saw him on fanarts which means I came to like his design first.:rolleyes: But if it weren't for his character I would have lost interest in him.

And, I, too agree with Mira, characters appeal to me for different reasons. I liked Grimmjow, because he did look interesting and I was amused with his insanity at first. But, after his last fight with Ichigo, he became my favorite, since we actually got to learn more about his history before becoming an espada. His actions were explained after that and he become much more intriguing as a character. I hope he returns and we learn more about him.

And Eloni, I love your spoiler sig! He does look way lonely, but that's what makes it great. I remember seeing it before and really liking it.

No, she hasn't.:p She only revived two people, Menoly and Ichigo, and the first one was just to show us that she really can do it (ergo, forshadowing before she revived Ichi). Being a healer and reviving the dead are two different things.:p

I also disagree with the GJ doesn't like friends part. It's true he has no confidant friend or friends like Ichi and co but I think he was secretly glad that his buddies (his fracción) were there and eased his loneliness. They weren't equals so it wasn't like they were BFFs but IMO he would be OK with having a close buddy or two. I hope he gets some character development next time we see him cuz when he tried to fight back against Ichi right before NnoiNnoi stabbed him it seemed like to me that he was desperately trying to cling to his ideals and was trying to refuse the change Ichi offered him.


Agree with Mira (yet again:XD) about the loneliness thing, after a while you really couldn't care less if you are alone or not. Even if there are tons of people around you, it does not mean you are less lonelier, so you get used to it by time. But still, you wouldn't mind having one or two friends who are just like you. At least I had this kinda experience.:p

Right before GJ screams at Ichi, there is a close up of his eyes. I think in that moment he almost accepted what Ichi was saying, but then he tried to erase that acceptance by taking out his anger on Ichi.
I also hope he gets some more development when he returns.
I agree with Eloni and Mira regarding the loneliness issue. I don't think GJ wants a bunch of friends or anything like that, but at least one or two close people. We can see that he's never really had that (unless there's more to his history that Kubo will show). I did always think that there was more to GJ and Ulquiorra's relationship, though.

There is totally more to the Grimmy/Ulq relationship and we need to see that resolved. That is why I pray that Kubo brings him back during the Ulq/Ichi fight becuase that is the only way I can see getting full closure on that. We have pure evidence that Ulq is as much as Grimmy's rival as Ichi. I don't think Grimmy would have targeted Ichi and co, if it weren't for Ulq. I totally think that Grimmy is stronger than Ulq. and could have beat Nnoitra if he had been at full power. Nnoitra just wins by being a sneaky cheat, and Grimmy fights head on.

So, GJ didn't eat up his previous friends. Actually they did ask him to eat them, yet he didn't. Why is that? He couldn't have wanted allies since he was a perfect predator when he used to live and hunt alone, he didn't need their help to achieve any goals. On the contrary, I believe his fracción even slowed him down.
So why didn't he just eat them like he was asked? I can only think of his loneliness again. He said 'Fine, I'll eat all of them' in the flashback yet he didn't eat them - he probably decided against it in the last minute, IMO. He ate from them so their evolution would stop and they wouldn't have to fear the regression so it was a win/win situation.


Agree OriAi, there must be something we don't know yet about them/their relationship. The chapter title 'Corrosion of Conformity' comes to mind; it makes me think they were on good - or at least better - terms when GJ/Ulqui first came to LN.

In the recent chapters Lilinette's 'Arrancar don't have age' comment made me think a bit.
I've heard a lot of people say that Grimmjow must be young compared to other Arrancar. I never understood why ppl thought that. O.o
So I have an idea, shut me up if it's stupid:

Didn't Shaw Long say that numeros are numbered in the order of their birth? He also said he was #11 (Il Forte was #15, D-Roy #16, Edrad #18, and I dunno about Nakim, someone help me?). Wouldn't that logically mean he was the first numero created by the Hogyoku? His fellow fracción had also ten-something-th numbers so that means they were created around the same time. Wouldn't that mean Grimmjow, their leader was created right before or after or simply also around that time?

I don't say he was Espada-level at that time, (I believe he was a simple numero too, only stronger than his fracción) but I simply can't buy those theories which say he is only a couple of months old (his Arrancar form, that is).

Ravishing: I'm quite sure that Grimmjow's going to survive. He still is alive for Ichigo protected him. Kenpachi wouldn't kill someone who lies on the ground wounded and same goes for the other Shinigami in Hueco Mundo.
Besides, he seems like that kind of guy who'd, in the end, help Ichigo out. Some of you said he's a bit like Kenpachi and Kenpachi helped saving Rukia after being defeated, too.:lala

LittleWolf I agree. I think that out of all the Arrancar, Grimmy is the one with the biggest chance of switching sides or at least not siding with Aizen anymore. However, if he were to become part of Ichigo's team, I would hate it if he became a goody goody. His spark would be gone. I would rather he fight for himself and not be on Ichigo's side or Aizen's side. I'm not sure how Kubo would keep Grimmy in character if he were to make him go on Ichigo's side.

And, yes, I'm almost positive Grimm's not dead. Kubo would have made a bigger deal out of it, especially considering Grimm's popularity. I'm sure he's alive out there and will be making an appearance in the future, hopefully soon.

While Grimmjow killed people like Luppi without a second thought, Ichigo, a person who Grimmjow thinks hates him, didn't let him fall after defeating him, tried talking sense into him, and even saved him. I think these things surprised Grimmjow. That could maybe allow him to think.
It's interesting seeing Ichigo, an enemy of Grimmjow's, care about him more than anyone in Hueco Mundo. I think Grimmjow may take that into consideration.

I don't see a chance for Orihime to heal Grimmjow. The fights will go on even after the IchiUlq fight and as the plot moves forward toward the real goal of Aizen's plan and we know more about the Royal Realm the main characters will move forward in place as well and won't go back to heal one of their enemy. That's why I think a side character like Unohana - who didn't go after Aizen or other enemies even when she had the chance - is more likely to heal Grimmjow than any of the main heroes being dragged back to HM. While the main story flows on and we see it through the main heroes' eyes, side characters who are left behind have their own little sub stories - what still flow on too, but has no real effect on the main plot.

I get the feeling that they hate each other simply because of how totally opposed their own personal morals are. Grimmy believes in doing what he feels, not letting people order him around in the least. He's very self motivated, putting his own wants and desires before anything else.

He probably dislikes Ulquiorra because he does whatever he's told, and never lets his own desires be seen, let alone control his actions. Ulqi seems to lack any kind of self motivation, only taking action when he's been ordered to and never letting his own personal preferences get in the way.

I think the most frustrating thing about Ulquiorra in Grimmjow's mind is that he simply can't get him to show a reaction and can't get him to feel the kind of rage that he feels towards him. In their fight scene, Grimmy tried desperately to get Ulquiorra to want to fight him, to show some kind of anger or hate. It obviously didn't work so well, leaving Grimmy more frustrated than before.

I just think their issues stem from having totally different sets of morals, not necessarily bad blood in the past.

Grimmy and Ulqui are so different. Grimmy is passionate about getting power and would do anything to get that power. He also hates being seen as weak. And he probably thinks that Ulqui sees him that way, since Ulqui's so indifferent to him and doesn't even bother with him. That alone must bother him greatly, but it must be terrible, to know that someone is better with him and doesn't even care about it (especially due to the fact that he craves power so much).

I agree that Ulquiorra is more mature than Grimmy and his sense of place is better stabilised than Grimmy, but then again, for some one who is bred from power over all else, Grimmjow must see Ulquiorra as a rival in the mental sense as well as the power sense. For someone who is so calm all the time Grimmy must find it annoying and perhaps uncomprehensible. I am not calling Grimm-Kat dumb, I am saying he is driven by motives that perhaps he overlooks what is needed to be seen in Ulquiorra.

Grimmjow is too rash for his own good and even if he has brains that rashness prevents him from actually think his decisions over. Ulquiorra is level-headed, dare I say the analyzing type so it's understandable that he appears to be older, more mature.

Good observation on the GJ/Ulq dynamism Ravishing, I especially agree with the part where you said GJ's king ego can't tolerate Ulqui's scornful nature.

I think his rashness is one of the things I like about him but he must be more careful, I agree. His utter disregard for his own life is a bit odd. He knows he can not win against Ichigo when he comes at him that last time, but still he can't back down. His own pride won't allow it and that pride is rash.

Besides what Ichigo offered him ('not killing everyone who pisses him off and being the king with no one left to rule') kinda scared him IMO. His last charge (after Ichi's deep speech and moments before NnoiNnoi's attack) seemed like he was desperately clinging to his own convictions - even if they were proven wrong by Ichigo. It's not necessary just his pride what prevented him for going down but his stubbornness as well.

I think what made him really think over Ichigo's speech is Ichigo saving his life because Ichigo proved that it's needless to kill everyone around you who you have issues with.
I think we'll see a change in Grimmjow's attitude when he comes back. A slight change but change nevertheless. IMO we'll get to see him contemplating what others say to him and not just dismissing the idea without thinking it over.

Oh I agree a lot with what many of you have been saying, regarding the king ego not appreciating Ulqui calling everyone trash and that Ulqui seems more mature than Grimm. I think Grimm's fight with Ichi will allow him to become more mature, though. Grimmy's never really had the chance to think about his actions or who he is or whatnot. He always just did things and killed anyone who he had a problem with and it worked, so why change it? However, the fight with Ichigo changed everything, because he had to actually think about his morals and his idea of being king with, like Ichigo said, no one left to rule. And yes, he lost, after trying so hard to win.

I agree with Eloni, when she said that his last charge at Ichigo was him desperately trying to cling to his morals and ideals, since we all know Grimmy's stubborn and doesn't want to lose easily. BUT, after seeing an enemy save his life, I have a feeling he'll change for the better. Not a lot, but will change and rethink himself.

I agree Eloni that we will see change and I think that change is a change in pace perhaps. His own convictions are what got him half killed agreed, so now perhaps he will seek his Power in a smaller form and not condemn himself before he has reached it.
If the power level of Aizen was not of that magnitude then he would not have been so hasty to hate him as he sees an opponent even his power-crazed mind can see is impossible to beat.

Hm...I was just reading over the manga again instead of studying for finals (bad me) and I think I may have found something out about the age matter. Nel (in child form of course) recognizes Grimmjow, calling him Grimmjow-sama and knowing that he's the 6th Espada.

However, in the previous fight with Ulquiorra, she had no idea who he was, and wasn't familiar with his name or rank. This could mean a few things, although I think it most clearly hints that Grimmjow was an Espada at the same time Nel was, and Ulquiorra was not. This wouldn't necessarily make Grimmjow older than Ulquiorra, but at the same time it kind of points to that idea because well, I'm fairly sure that because of Ulquiorra's obvious strength, if he was an arrancar at all he'd be an Espada.

So although this isn't definite by any means, I just kind of feel that it seems to point to the fact that Grimmjow (despite his often rash behavior) is older than Ulquiorra when it comes to order of arrancar birth. *sorry if all of my obsessiveness seems lame :o*

Agreed, that would totally make sense.

And let's not forget that we are only talking about their arrancar-age and not their real age. Ulquiorra could easily be older than Grimmjow (thus he's more powerful) yet he could have come to Las Noches later than him and became an arrancar later. Grimmjow could think that it's unfair, someone getting a higher rank than him seemingly without deserving it, that is.

Perhaps becoming ranked as an Espada isn't due the to power you hold as the arrancar you are presented as, but the amount of power gained during the lower years around the sands of Las Noches. It doesn't really make sense but that is what could be the truth with the hatred because we have seen what Grimmy went through to get his position and yet still Ulquiorra seems to have endured more and is still so composed.
