Welcome to the club, Joyling, Rain. So, what's your favorite Soi x Yoruichi moment?

I think one of the cutest panels I've seen is the flashback part where Yoru is stealing food off of Soi's plate. XD!

Joyling
10-24-2008, 07:30 AM
It went something like this ... :love

Welcome to the new members! I added your names on the front page. ^__^

Yoru and Soi fight together really well. I wonder if we really will see them do it in this arc. Maybe they will team up against Barragan? You know, I was thinking that might work because Barragan has a crown-looking thing on his head, and Yoruichi is a princess. :D

Join prz! XP I've always been the hugest fan of YoruSoi and YoruHara, YoruSoi more though, even though it's less popular :cry I even used that image Joyling posted as my wallpaper for a long time XD too cute :inlove

This was my latest Bleach fic, kind of Yoru x Soi x Urahara, but the focus is on Yoruichi :hm http://bleachasylum.com/showthread.php?t=5124 I kept getting asked to add more parts, so there are a lot of twists XP

Edit: And I found my old one, YoruxSoi only XP http://bleachasylum.com/showthread.php?t=3209

Nice! I'm working on a fic now that has a YoruxSoi pairing, but it's not at a point where I'm ready to post it, yet, since it's kind of long. But maybe I'll write a small fluff in the meantime.

Why do you (everyone) like YoruSoi??

CaptainYoruichi
10-25-2008, 03:34 AM
There was a lot of stuff left unanswered after their fight. It's pretty obvious IMO that Soi has feelings that are more than friendship for Yoru. Yoru's feelings are little harder to pin down, but, she doesn't seem like the type to apologize or to be outwardly emotional. But as easily as she took out the rest of the special ops guys, she could have taken out Soi if she was serious. But she didn't want to hurt Soi, just get Soi to calm down long enough to not want to kill Yoruichi. She controlled her "uncontrollable" shunko so as to miss Soi entirely. It seemed cold the way she just stood there while Soi cried, but again, I don't think Yoru is the type to be emotional.

And then they attacked Aizen on top of the hill in perfect unison, as if it came naturally to them. They just work really well together, both when it comes to fighting and when it comes to just looking good together. XD!

Arrancar_Fan
10-25-2008, 03:43 AM
Yoru isnt normally and emotionless person but sometimes she is as cold as Soi (which i think had been rubbed on to Soi :um) which always makes me want to know what had happened after Soi broke down :/

Luhy
10-25-2008, 03:44 AM
There was just so much unspoken tension and such deep emotion in every word and action when they were re-united... *promotes fics again XP* You could get my real answer by reading my stories! :inlove

There are a lot of other YoruSoi Cosplay pics out there on Deviantart too, but i never saved many XP

CaptainYoru- :yay sounds good (writing that fic thing :XD), lol

I like yoruSoi because its real, as far as yuri pairings go in bleach. there was a clear attraction from one side, and it serves as a motivation for later on

It's just hard to not be moved by any of their scenes

Why do you like YoruSoi?
These two girls care for each other. They have history + Soi Fon still loved Yoruichi even though she left all those years ago, and Yoruichi didn't want to hurt her during their fight either.
Also, they make an awesome tag team.

Luhy

I agree XP While Soi Fon is more of a Tsundere, she had literally given everything to Yoruichi, who as a youth, was appreciative but not attatched... This is an excerpt from a fic that explains it XP

*Closing her eyes, she can remember perfectly the promise she had made to Soi Fon as well… Soi Fon… As much as she might long to be again with Urahara, the way they were in their youth, is the way Soi Fon yearns to be with her now… What’s worse, is Soi Fon knows exactly how Yoruichi feels, it isn’t that she needs to be a free spirit, it’s that she can’t devote herself to someone she just can’t devote herself too, like she could have with Urahara… That weakness, her shortcoming of being over dependant, is why she could never be attracted to Soi Fon the way she had lusted for the confidence, intelligence, and masculinity of Kisuke… Who doesn’t want to be loved though?… She had, in reality, spent just as much time in her life with both of them, and her memories of staying up until dawn, telling Soi Fon’s smiling face stories, sneaking into her bedroom late at night, just to feel the warmth of her body and the warmth of her smile, and the overwhelming devotion that caused her to question her feelings for Kisuke time and time again… Between blinking, everything had changed… Nothing could be the way it was before…*

I'm actually gonna be SS-arc Orihime, I still don't have the abs to make a good Soi or Yoruichi (plus I'm too tall! :cry) but I'm working on it, lol. My goal by next con season is to be able to cosplay Kuukaku, I have a whole thing planned out for the arm and everything. *sigh* I just have LOTS of crunches between now and then.

I will try to get CaptainYoruichi to post some of her fic. I really love fic~ wish I could work on mine, but too much to do before Halloween.

Rain

Luhy- thats a great exerpt from one of yours fics :XD

its so real too, it makes sense

the reason nothing ever happened really might be because Soi was so overly dependent

but then again, she isn't dependent now :heehee

Yeah, she could totally kick my ass if I teased her. Hehe, I get the same way. I had a violent outburst at my housemate for sneaking up on me, and I stabbed him in the arm with a spoon. (Yes, really. I was making soup and when I set upon him didn't realize I was holding anything until I started hitting him.)

CaptainYoruichi

Well I wanted to finish my fluff entirely before I posted it, but with my procrastinating ways, if I waited to do that I'd never get it posted. :rotflmao

So I'll post what I've got now and just add more later.

It's not titled yet. And I apologize if they seem OOC, but, I think people do act OOC when they are in love. XD!
Pairings: YoruSoi, IchiRuki (later on)
Disclaimers: I do not own Bleach.

Yoruichi stood in front of the mirror, fastening the back of her earring. Once she was done, she glanced behind her and noticed Soi fidgeting with her outfit. Yoruichi turned around and stepped in front of the nervous woman. "Honey, you look fine," she reassured Soi, giving her a soft kiss. "Besides, we're just having dinner," she added, smiling gently.

Soi gave a half-smile. "I guess I'm just not used to wearing anything this fancy," she explained, glancing down at her dress.

"And you think I am? You're talking to someone who runs around in cat form most of the time," Yoruichi replied with a grin. She looked down at her own dress. "I wouldn't normally wear anything like this, either, but the restaurant we're going to is worth it." She took Soi's hand and headed for the door now that they were ready. "Their food is the best, and my little bee deserves nothing but the best," she teased.

Soi blushed but quickly recovered. "I already have the best," she replied smoothly, poking Yoruichi playfully. They caught each other's eyes and smiled.

************************************************** *******

Despite the line of people waiting to get in, it didn't take long to be seated once they got to the restaurant. Yoruichi walked right up to the podium, ignoring dirty looks from those assuming she was cutting in line. "Reservation for two under the name Shihouin," she said. They were shown to their table immediately. A waiter took their drink orders.

Soi looked around curiously. The place was packed. "This place seems really popular. How did you manage to get reservations?" she asked.

"I asked Matsumoto to flash her boobs at the owner for me," Yoruichi replied, picking up her menu to browse it.

"Oh," Soi replied, skimming through her menu as well. Then she realized what Yoruichi had said. "Wait, are you serious?"

Yoruichi laughed. "No, of course not." She shook her head. "You should have seen your face just now. It was hilarious." She grinned. Teasing Soi was so much fun.

Their drinks arrived; a tea for Soi and a milk for Yoruichi. Soi squeezed a lemon into her tea before taking a sip. "You must have eaten here before," she remarked. "What do you recommend?"

"Fettucine alfredo is my favorite," Yoruichi replied. "They also make excellent chicken parmesian."

Soi looked at the menu in more detail. "Everything on the menu looks good," she said after a moment. "I can't decide what to get." She frowned a little and nervously tapped her fingers on the table.

Yoruichi looked at Soi and caught the frown. It seemed that Soi was still feeling a little out of place. Yoruichi reached across the table and took Soi's hand in hers."Why don't I get the chicken parmesian and you can get the fettucine alfredo, and we can share with each other?" she suggested with a smile.

Soi calmed down a little at Yoruichi's touch. "I'd like that," she replied. Yoruichi squeezed Soi's hand reassuringly. Soi put down her menu and relaxed, content. She had always dreamed about Yoruichi returning her feelings, but she'd never expected it to become a reality. And yet, that's exactly what had happened; and truth be told, she was still getting used to seeing this side of Yoruichi. Who would have thought that Yoruichi was such a romantic? Soi sure hadn't expected it. She couldn't stop herself from snickering a little.

"What's so funny?" Yoruichi asked, looking at Soi with a raised eyebrow.

"I just never pictured you to be the romantic type," Soi explained. "What would people think of the great Yoruichi sending a girl flowers and taking her out to fancy restaurants?" she teased.

"Well don't tell anyone, I have a reputation to upkeep," Yoruichi teased back. She started to add something but stopped for a moment as the waiter came and took their order. Once he left, she resumed what she was going to say. "I never had a reason to be romantic before," she explained.

Well, I have several songs that I would love to use in YoruxSoi AMVs if I knew how to make them. But I guess the one I associate most recently with Yoru and Soi is Nickelback's Far Away.

This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long, Too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there's just one left
'Cause you know,
you know, you know

[CHORUS]
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me
and you'll never go
Stop breathing if
I don't see you anymore

On my knees, I'll ask
Last chance for one last dance
'Cause with you, I'd withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
I'd give it all
I'd give for us
Give anything but I won't give up
'Cause you know,
you know, you know

[CHORUS]

So far away
Been far away for far too long
So far away
Been far away for far too long
But you know, you know, you know

I wanted
I wanted you to stay
'Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving
Hold on to me and, never let me go

Yoru-taichou! How about that one that is on the latest CD you burned, that I can't think of any of the words to right now. But I can sing it in the car... of course. :oops Let me think of another one, hmm. Falling Down by Story of the Year, I love this band so much. This is more from Soi's POV during her fight with Yoruichi.

Now I can taste
The war that I've been fighting
Start to fall but I'm still standing here
Behind the wall of dying faith

I can't forget
The fight that's growing stronger
Face to face with hopes of longer days
To build on something we should save

I stand alone
I'm on my own
My hands will bleed (my hands will bleed!)
I'm holding on to what is gone
What's left of me?

I'm falling down
But I should find my strength in this
A light that burns to reconnect
My heart for what it's meant to give

I stand alone
I'm on my own
My hands will bleed (my hands will bleed!)
I'm holding on to what is gone
What's left of me?!

Walk!
Fall!
Stand again so I can
Walk!
Fall!
Stand again so I can
Walk!
Fall!
Stand again so I can

FALL!!!

I stand alone
I'm on my own
My hands will bleed (my hands will bleed!)
I'm holding on to what is gone
What's left of me?!

Oh, you mean the Linkin Park song? Yeah, that's another good one. It's more angsty, though.

Leave Out all the Rest
I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
Cause no one else cared

After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I'm done here

So if you're asking me
I want you to know

[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed

And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
[End Chorus]

Don't be afraid
I've taking my beating
I've shared what I've been

I'm strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I've never been perfect
But neither have you

So if you're asking me
I want you to know

[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that ive done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed

Don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest
[End Chorus]

Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well

Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can't be who you are

[Chorus]
When my time comes
Forget the wrong that ive done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed

Don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest

Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well

Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can't be who you are
I can't be who you are

Okay I've given in to CaptainYoruichi, here is the first chapter of my fic. I haven't posted any fic in like 8 years! :nooo

Anyway I hereby present ... da da daaa ... "Gigai Problems." :um Hope you like it because there will be more.

Bzzzzt, bzzzzt. Bzzzzt, bzzzzt. Yoruichi’s soul pager buzzed and she reached for it, not bothering to see who was contacting her. She already knew. She set down her chopsticks and pushed her bowl back from the edge of the table.

“Yes, what’s going on now?” she asked, sighing as though she was terribly put upon by the call. In actuality, she thought it was kind of cute.

“Yoruichi-sama, I’m sorry to bother you again!” Soi Fong’s voice responded, sounding humble but a bit panicked. Yoruichi could visualize Soi, blushing and bowing her head. Ah, her devoted little bee, how nice to have her back again. How delightful to tease her. She had missed it.

Yoruichi shook her head. “Ah, Soi, it’s no trouble really. Tell me, how can I help you this time?” Since Soi had been assigned to the human world for a short time, she’d had a lot of issues with being there. It seemed every few hours something would come up that either puzzled or infuriated her. Yoruichi had spent a century here, and clearly that made her some sort of expert. Never mind how much of that time she was a cat. To Soi, she was The Expert.

There was a slight pause on the line before Soi answered. “It’s my gigai, I think there’s something wrong with it.”

Yoruichi smirked. “Is that so? What’s wrong then?” She seriously doubted anything was wrong with the gigai. She’d already seen it - and had to admit it looked almost as good as the real thing.

Soi looked in the mirror as she spoke. She had a hard time not staring in horror at herself. “My face is all red. It feels like I’m on fire!”

“Are you sure your face isn’t just red because you’re talking to me?” Yoruichi asked teasingly. “And your body is on fire? Soi - I had no idea you felt that way. This is turning into a more serious conversation that I expected.”

“Gah! Y-Yoruichi, I’m being serious!” Soi stammered, wondering if she would be able to see her face get any redder than it already was. To her dismay, there wasn’t a noticeable difference. “I don’t know what’s wrong with it! It wasn’t this way when I got it. It feels like the skin is on too tight or something.”

Yoruichi sighed. She decided maybe it would be best to humor her little bee this time. “Would you like to come over, then, so I can have a look?”

“Ah, do you think you could come over here instead?” the raven-haired girl asked. “I’d rather not go out this way, it’s … uncomfortable.”

The older woman nodded and gazed sadly at her dinner, sitting there uneaten. “Sure, I’ll be over shortly.” They ended their conversation and Yoruichi put her uneaten noodles into the refrigerator, promising them she would be back soon. With that, she headed out to the apartment Soi was renting for her stay in the living world.

She ran a hand through her purple locks, brushing her hair back from her face, then knocked on the door. A muffled “Hai!” was heard, and the door opened to reveal Soi Fong. True to her word, and against all Yoruichi had expected, Soi’s usually pale, porcelain skin was in fact bright red. And not just her face, but her arms as well. She was stunned immobile at the sight, but Soi’s hand quickly darted out and pulled Yoruichi into the apartment, swiftly shutting and locking the door behind her.

“See? It’s horrible!” Soi lamented, looking down at her own arm. Her sempai finally recovered from the sight, only to burst out laughing. “Yoruichi-sama! Stop laughing! What’s wrong with my gigai?” she demanded.

“Aaah, ha ha ha, oh Soi, you’re sunburnt!” the dark-skinned woman laughed. She flopped down into the nearest chair, her knees weak from laughter. When she finally was able to stop laughing, she wiped a tear from the corner of one golden eye. Looking up, she saw a look on Soi Fong’s face that would have any member of the Second Division trembling in terror. “It’s okay! It’ll heal on its own soon,” Yoruichi said in a more calm and hopefully soothing tone.

“Sunburnt?! How was I supposed to know?” Soi growled, embarrassed to have worried so about what seemed to be a very simple problem. A very painful, but seemingly normal, problem. “Stupid human world, where the sun can hurt you. Stupid gigai!” She sat down on the couch rather violently, then quickly jerked away from the back, a pained look on her face. “Aaa! Yow!” she yelped, her back throbbing in pain from something as simple as brushing against soft fabric. Not for the first time since she arrived in the human world, Soi Fong wished she could cry - of course, she hadn‘t allowed herself to. This was, however, the first time that she’d wanted to cry from pain.

Yoruichi felt bad for poor Soi, especially after hurting her feelings by laughing at her. She was sure the sunburn had to be really painful. She’d very seldom seen anyone quite that horrible a shade of red. “Oh, Soi, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to laugh at you, my little bee. There is something that can make your burns feel better.”

“Is it kido?” Soi asked grouchily. She’d never been that great at healing kido, unfortunately, destructive arts were more her thing. She wasn’t sure what to do with herself, almost everything hurt. Here was Yoruichi-sama, taking time out of her day to jump to the rescue, and in the end it was something so trivial she’d been laughed at over it. Let this miserable assignment end.

“I think you’ll like it better than kido. Let me run to the store to get it.” Yoruichi hopped up from the chair and headed for the apartment’s kitchen. Before Soi could even voice a protest, the taller woman had filled a glass with ice water and ran a cloth under cool water. She brought them to Soi, who still sat uneasily on the couch. “For now, drink this, you need to keep your body hydrated. The cloth will help keep you cool. I’ll be back soon!”

Soi took the glass and set the damp cloth on her left shoulder. She had to admit, that did feel a little better. “Take the key,” the Second Division captain said grudgingly, “it’s on the left there.” Yoruichi shot a confident grin at Soi and grabbed the key on her way out, locking Soi safely inside.

Second chapter is ready.
By the time Soi Fong had finished her glass of water, Yoruichi was already unlocking the door. The Chinese woman had fished an ice cube out of the glass and was holding it against her face, letting it melt against her sunburnt cheeks and nose. Feeling at least somewhat cooler had also calmed her temper noticeably, much to Yoruichi’s relief. The cool cloth was now spread over the back of Soi’s neck, easing its pain slightly.

“Welcome back, Yoruichi-sama,” Soi greeted her sempai. The last of the ice cube melted away and she wiped the moisture off her fingers onto the towel, which was drying out itself.

Yoruichi grinned and placed the key back where she’d gotten it from, closing and locking the door behind her. She held up a bag from a store around the corner. “Hopefully this will help you ,” she answered, reaching into the small bag she had brought back with her. She pulled out a tube of bright green … Soi didn’t even know what it was.

Soi raised a black eyebrow at the goo. “Please tell me I’m not supposed to eat that. Already I’m failing to see how this is better than kido.” She pressed a finger against her red forearm, then pulled it away, staring at the dot she’d made as it turned from her normal pale color back to bright red.

Yoruichi grinned and pulled the drying cloth off Soi’s back. “First, no, please don’t eat it. They do make a juice from the same plant, but that won’t help us right now. Second, you’ll see for yourself in a minute, just try to be patient. Do you need more water? How far does the burn go?”

“It’s all over my back, shoulders, and arms,” Soi sighed, wishing she’d known what would happen staying too long in the sun while wearing something that left so much skin exposed. “In Soul Society I wear backless shirts all the time to train in, it’s foolish to wear anything else … I never thought anything would be different here. Tch, I should have known.” The former princess grabbed the now-empty glass and took it to the kitchen as she listened to the captain talk, figuring an empty glass should be filled.

“Okay, I want you to take your shirt off and lay down on the couch,” Yoruichi ordered from the kitchen. Hee hee hee, this should be good.

“WHAT!?”

“Unless you’d rather in your bed?”

“WHAT!?” Soi’s tone was clearly horrified. This was so much fun. A late, cold dinner was really worth it sometimes.

“It’s like an ointment. I have to rub it onto your skin,” the taller woman explained, hiding her smirk by grabbing a second glass from the cupboard. “Unless you can reach your entire back?”

“Not a prayer in this ridiculous body,” she heard the younger woman grumble almost under her breath, then the sound of curtains being pulled closed. Yoruichi respectfully kept her back turned away from where Soi sat, slowly filling the second glass as she heard lighter fabric rustling, and finally weight shifting on the couch as Soi lay down.

Having heard Soi was settled, the former captain brought both glasses back into the living room and set them down on the end table nearest Soi’s head. She wasn’t really surprised to see Soi’s shirt was neatly folded on the end table within arm’s reach. Finally getting a look at how bad the younger girl’s back looked, Yoruichi shook her head as she picked up the tube of aloe and squeezed a good amount into her hand. She hoped this would work to make Soi feel better, and for a moment wanted to just use kido. But that would defeat the purpose of having gotten the aloe to begin with. Setting the tube down, Yoruichi then carefully pulled Soi’s braids up and away from her back and arms, setting them next to where the shorter woman’s head lay.

“This might feel a bit odd,” the dark-skinned woman said, kneeling beside the couch. Her hand was paused over Soi’s back, waiting for a response.

“It already smells kind of odd,” came the muffled answer. “So long as it works. I guess there are worse things it could smell like.”

Yoruichi smiled and began to gently apply the aloe onto the younger woman’s back. Soi let out a small sigh as the gel began to cool her skin. Kido may have been faster, but there certainly was something nice about this. Yoruichi’s hands felt good , she was being very gentle and cautious while smoothing the aloe over the angry red sunburn. With the pain beginning to fade, Soi Fong even began to feel relaxed, which itself was quite amazing considering she was lying down, topless, with Yoruichi-sama’s soft hands on her bare skin. Wait … yes. She actually was.

Now Soi had the urge to bolt. Of course, she couldn’t, though, the issue of having no shirt on. She had seen Yoruichi nude many times while changing back from her cat form. She was even able to not turn beet red at the sight, if the situation was urgent. But things were reversed now, Yoruichi was very much dressed, and Soi herself was half-nude. She’d just have to endure it and try to stay calm. Captains did not run away from someone who merely touched them. Anyway, it was a gigai! It wasn’t even her real body! Yoruichi was just touching some husk of flesh, it meant nothing. So if she saw anything, it would be equally meaningless. But Soi’s muscles began to tense, her heart rate increased, and there was no denying the body was connected to her. She had felt herself straining at its limits during the training that had gotten her into this situation to begin with. While she was inside the gigai, the body was hers, and through it she felt everything in just as much detail as she normally did. That had been the whole point of training in the gigai, to bring its limits closer to her own.

And so the thoughts flew around in the Second Division Captain’s head. Hope, trepidation, eagerness, anxiety, and finally logic trying to rationalize all the emotions away to nothing. Even after a hundred years, her once-mentor could still stir up all the emotions she tried to keep hidden. As thoughts buzzed around, she noticed less and less the pain of the sunburn, and more and more the bliss of Yoruichi’s touch.

Yoruichi’s fingers seemed to deliberately brush ever so softly over that ticklish spot below Soi Fong’s left shoulder blade. Quite against her will (or so she would keep telling herself) Soi giggled. She turned her head to shoot a disapproving frown at her sempai, or at the very least a Serious Look. Sometimes it was hard to keep a Serious Look around Yoruichi. However, when she turned her head, instead of the teasing grin she had expected to see, the former princess was wearing a very genuine smile. “Still ticklish, I see.”

“Not that anyone else tries, but yes,” Soi answered, feeing herself start to smile too. Maybe things could really be okay again. After Yoruichi had left, Soi had vowed to herself never to let anyone get close to her again, as it only led to pain. Everyone she had ever been close with left her in the end, starting with her own family members all the way to the very person she had pledged her life to protect. It was hard to let Yoruichi into her heart again, but it was even harder to keep her shut out. Knowing that she was leaving herself open to such hurt again was difficult to say the least, but being around Yoruichi again made her nostalgic for the days when they were close companions. Even though it still hurt a little to be near her, experience had showed her that it hurt much worse not to be. After a century of trying to harden her heart against her Goddess, she had fallen so easily back into worshipping her. It wasn’t exactly the same as before, but she knew without a doubt she was following through on the promise they’d made under the full moon so long ago.

Yoruichi squeezed a little more aloe from the tube and moved up to Soi’s shoulders and arms, being careful to keep her touch as gentle as she could. She knew that the aloe would only be a temporary fix, and it would need to be reapplied after a while. This would give her an excuse to hang around though. She sort of liked the thought of taking care of her former bodyguard for a while - the Second Division’s captain was notoriously stubborn and hated accepting help, but Yoruichi knew if it was from her, she would accept it. “Soi, I can’t reach your right arm,” the taller woman said as she cautiously rubbed the gel onto Soi’s right shoulder. “Any way you could get up right now?”

“Umm,” she answered, a little grateful that the sunburn made it impossible to tell that her face was flushed. She was in the middle of trying desperately not to need Yoruichi the same way she had before. She reached down and grabbed her shirt from where she had set it, then rolled partway up, her back facing Yoruichi. She unfolded the shirt and held it over her breasts, then sat up so Yoruichi could reach her arm better. Maybe her face wasn’t able to blush, but it was conveyed in her body language. Her head bowed a bit and her posture was slightly hunched over. Her thin but muscular arms clasped the shirt tightly over her chest. She didn’t have much to cover compared to Yoruichi-sama, but the dark woman was totally confident about her body, to the point where she simply didn’t care what anyone saw. In fact, she usually had a good laugh over it if she made someone uncomfortable.

Soi Fong was a different type completely. The backless, sleeveless Correction Corps Commander uniform was quite revealing, but it was also very practical. The purpose of the garment was not to show skin, but to be efficient to fight in. She didn’t mind wearing it because if she needed to use shunko, anything she wore would get shredded anyway, plus the layered kosode of the standard uniform got hot rather quickly. It wasn’t like people threw themselves at her or chased after her for her body, like they did to Matsumoto of Tenth Division, and that was perfectly fine with Soi. But that didn’t mean she was at ease with going around half-dressed simply because most people saw nothing to get worked up over. Most especially going around half-dressed in front of Yoruichi-sama, who always stirred up so many feelings she wasn’t used to having.

The previous Correction Corps Commander, of course, read her like a book. She decided right now might not be the best time to mention it anyway, since Soi was clearly out of her comfort zone in every way. Instead she sat on the couch next to her and continued applying the aloe on her right arm. Starting at the shoulder where she’d left off, the former princess worked her way down Soi Fong’s arm, finally trailing her fingers softly across the back of Soi’s hand. She had never understood why Soi was embarrassed about her body - she was slender, muscular, and compact. Watching her in motion was almost hypnotizing, she was at once graceful and powerful. She always was critical of her own flaws, and pushed herself ever harder, knowing that every improvement was hard-fought.

And while everyone else was busy fawning over the girls with more curvaceous bodies, Yoruichi had ever so quietly had her heart stolen by the stoic and dedicated Chinese girl with the beautiful face. Being how she was, though, she’d never been willing to admit it, and was satisfied playing around and teasing the one she cared for, even when it was perfectly obvious that Soi Fong would have fallen into her arms quite willingly if she had but opened them. How had it gone? “Admiration is the furthest thing from understanding.” That’s what the young Tenth Division captain had reported Aizen had given as his reason for attacking Hinamori, his own vice-captain. Soi had needed to find out who she was apart from Yoruichi - maybe she had even needed to be able to hate her for a while, to see another side of her, take her off the pedestal she had been put on. Like anyone else, she wasn’t infallible. Not all decisions were perfect, nor could they be perfect, and sometimes the right path meant giving up something you didn’t want to. She hadn’t wanted to leave Soi behind, but no one else was ready to step up if she’d taken her, and now she thought Soi finally understood that. The 13 Court Guard Divisions had taken too many losses all at once, and out of either happenstance or deliberate moves against her, Yoruichi had been one of them. And on her own, Soi had grown so much stronger, in so many ways, than Yoruichi had expected. Now that the air had been cleared between them, the attraction was still there - had even intensified. They had both changed, but no amount of time or events had managed to change that. Yoruichi thought that now she could probably fall in love with Soi, which in all honesty scared the hell out of her. Yet here she was, playing again. And she couldn’t help but wonder what might happen, that insatiable curiosity.

Soi felt her heart jump as Yoruichi’s fingers trailed softly across the back of her hand. In spite of the lingering overheated feeling on her skin, she shivered. She hoped her former mentor would mistake it for something else. She glanced up from their hands only to lock eyes with her sempai. It seemed they had both been busy thinking when the banter between them slowed, her amber eyes seemed to be much more serious than Soi recalled ever seeing them. Just as quickly as she’d noticed it, Yoruichi began to smile mischievously and her eyes once again danced jovially. Seeing this expression on her face seemed much more natural, and the younger woman’s anxiety was pushed to the back of her mind.

Yoruichi squeezed a little more aloe into her hand, then dabbed her index finger into it. Suddenly, she brought her finger quickly up to Soi Fong’s face and wiped the goop on her nose. “GAH!” Soi exclaimed, shifting rapidly backwards and nearly losing her balance trying to keep the shirt over her chest. She grabbed at Yoruichi’s hand with her free right hand, laughing with her, trying to shove the handful of green gel into Yoruichi’s face in playful vengeance. Yoruichi pulled backwards now, but Soi let go of her wrist at just the right moment to let Yoruichi overbalance and fall off the couch. When she felt herself falling, Yoruichi reached out and grasped Soi by the wrist, but they were both laughing too hard for it to make a difference in keeping the older woman on the couch. Instead they both fell, Yoruichi tumbling backwards and pulling the lighter Soi Fong down on top of her. Instinctively the Chinese girl put both hands out to either side of Yoruichi to catch herself. Then she realized her shirt was still in her left hand, which was now on the floor beside Yoruichi. Before she could really react to that, the glob of aloe dripped off her nose onto Yoruichi’s cheek.

Yoruichi kept giggling and moved to wipe the aloe off her face with the back of her right hand, somehow she’d still managed to keep the left hand full of aloe through their mock-battle. Remembering this, she brought her left hand around Soi’s back and slowly ran her hand from the small of her back up her spine to her shoulders. She felt Soi tense up at first, then slowly let her body press down against her sempai. Perhaps she wants this, too, Yoruichi thought with a smile. She looked up into Soi’s face and slowly raised herself up towards the younger girl.

Soi’s eyes drifted half-shut as Yoruichi raised up towards her. Suddenly an alarm went off inside her head. What am I doing? What is she doing? Soi rolled off Yoruichi, quickly pulling her shirt on. She sat back on the couch, avoiding looking at her purple-haired guest who now sat on the floor. Water, need some water. She reached over for her glass and took a long drink.

Yoruichi leaned back, holding herself up on her hands, feeling a bit confused by the mixed signals. “Ah, I’m sorry. Are you okay?” she asked quietly.

Soi Fong glanced down at her sempai, her eyes darting there and quickly away. “I … don’t think we should do that,” she answered simply, trying to keep her tone as flat as possible.

“Why shouldn’t we?” she asked back with a catlike grin.

Soi’s temper flared again. “Just because it’s what you want, Shihouin Yoruichi, doesn’t mean it’s going to fall into place so easily. I’m not the same girl I was then.”

Yoruichi actually looked hurt at that comment. “I thought it might be what you wanted, too, Soi. Why do you seem to think everything comes easily to me? I don’t want you to be who you were back then, I want you how you are.”

“How I am? Hn. You barely know me any more.” And once you do, what if you don’t like what I’ve become? Will you leave again?

Yoruichi drew herself up and knelt in front of Soi Fong. “I want to know you, though. Won’t you let me try?”

Soi finally looked down into Yoruichi’s eyes again. “Look, I can be honest with you. I’ve lost … I can’t even tell you what I’ve lost. You’re not the first of it and you aren’t going to be the last. I don’t know if I can give myself to you like that again. I don’t know if I have anything left worth giving sometimes. After heading the Secret Remote Squad for this long … you know full well it’s dangerous work. I’ve learned not to get attached. But you’re different, Yoruichi-sama. I look at you, and I can’t stop myself from feeling attached.”

The older woman remained kneeling and wrapped her hand around Soi’s forearm. “Can’t you just enjoy what you have while it’s there? If something dear to you might be gone tomorrow, wouldn’t you regret not enjoying it fully? I lived too long with regret to do it any more. Do you think it doesn’t scare me? Soi, I’m scared to death right now. I know the way you are, and I know the way I am. But I want to be what you need in spite of that.”

The Chinese woman sighed. “I’m not even sure what I need.” She looked away again.

“Well … you probably need some food. You’ve already shown you’re terrible at taking care of your gigai. Maybe you’ll let me help, and we can see what happens?”

A real smile broke across Soi Fong’s face, her eyes very nearly tearing up. “I’d like that.”

Well I was going to work on my other fic, but I got this idea stuck in my head that would not let me rest. So I put it down on paper, so to speak. It's actually a two-part one-shot (is that possible?).

This is the first part. It's kind of angsty. The fluff will come in part 2.
Pairing: YoruSoi (obviously)
Disclaimer: I don't own Bleach. Or any of the songs I've referenced. TBTP spoilers, I guess.

These Are My Confessions (Part 1)
Ukitake approached the lone figure on the hill. "How long do you plan on sitting there, Yoru-chan?" he asked gently, sitting next to his old friend. The purple-haired woman next to him remained silent, her eyes focused elsewhere. Ukitake followed her line of sight. Not surprisingly, Soi Fon was at the end of it. The second division captain was currently training some of her squad members in the large area that the hill overlooked.

Ukitake contemplated for a moment. "Why don't you tell her how you feel?" he asked finally.

Golden eyes glanced at him briefly, wistful and a little sad. Then she turned back to watching Soi. "I'm afraid," she replied in a moment of unusual candor.

"Afraid? Of what?" Ukitake asked, somewhat incredulous.

"I hurt her when I left. I broke her heart, and I can't undo what I did. I'm afraid if I tell her how I feel, she'll break mine." Her eyes darkened. "Not that I don't deserve it."

Ukitake frowned. "Yoru-chan, do you really think she would do that to you? Any bitter feelings she may have had towards you were forgotten the moment Aizen's treachery came to light. She knew - we all knew - that if he hadn't framed Urahara and turned Shinji and co. into Vizards, you wouldn't have had a reason to leave."

Yoruichi looked unconvinced. "You weren't there when she first saw me back in Soul Society. She wanted to kill me, Juushiro." She shuddered thinking about all the hōmonka that had covered her body during that fight.

"But you're sitting here, aren't you? She didn't kill you," Ukitake gently reminded Yoruichi. "Besides, didn't you tell me that she asked you why you didn't take her with you? It seems to me like she never stopped loving you. I don't think that's changed."

She frowned thoughtfully, considering his words. "Do you really think so?" she asked uncertainly. Then she smiled, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "You probably know Soi better than I do now."

He poked Yoruichi. "Stop being so hard on yourself. You were separated for a hundred years; of course things changed. You just need to get reacquainted." He poked her again. "Now go talk to Soi before I drag you over there," he teased.

Yoruichi glanced sideways at Ukitake, her eyebrow raised. "Why are you being so insistent about this?" she asked, mildly annoyed.

"Because you're one of my best friends, Yoru-chan, and I'm asking this as someone who cares about my friends. How much have you sacrified over the years for the happiness and well-being of others?" Ukitake asked, his expression serious again. "Don't you think it's your turn to be happy?" He motioned in the distance to Soi. "And don't you want her to be happy? What if being with you is what will make her the happiest?"

Yoruichi, who looked like she'd been slapped, went silent, staring intently in Soi's direction while thinking over Ukitake's words. Ukitake watched her carefully, noting the warring emotions displayed in her eyes. Longing, hesitation, uncertainty, and then finally, resolve, as if she'd come to a decision. She stood up and brushed herself off. "Never knowing what could have been is probably worse than a broken heart," she said.

Ukitake smiled. "Now you get it. You should always fight for every dream, no matter how impossible you think it may be. You never know which one you let go may be the one to make you complete."

"You're just being cheesy now," Yoruichi teased, rolling her eyes. "Did you hear that in a song or something?" She suddenly hugged him. "But thank you. You talked some sense into me." She looked in Soi's direction and grinned confidently. "I'm going to go tell her. Wish me luck." And then, true to her nickname, she was gone in a flash.

Ukitake chuckled. Now that was the Yoruichi he was used to.

Well, my two-part one-shot is turning into more parts. I think I can finish it in three, but it might end up with four parts.

But, here's part 2. More angst. Lots of angst.

These Are My Confessions (Part 2)
Soi dismissed her squad, staying behind in the clearing to practice by herself. The war was over, but it wouldn't do to get complacent. She'd been neglecting her kendo recently, since some of her other skills were more proficient. She was in the midst of swinging her zanpakuto when she heard the unmistakeable 'whoosh' sound that signified someone using shunpo. She turned to see who it was. "Yoruichi-sama?" she asked, surprised. She half-expected Yoruichi to tease her about practicing kendo until she saw how serious her sempai looked.

"Can we talk?" Yoruichi asked.

Soi sheathed her zanpakuto. "Of course, Yoruichi-sama. What is it?"

"I have something I want to tell you, Soi," Yoruichi replied. "Something I need to tell you, actually. And that I should have told you long ago."

Soi's stomach dropped a little. Yoruichi was very rarely serious, and when she started saying things like that, there was probably bad news to come. Soi's anxiety must have been apparent on her face.

"It's not that bad, Soi," Yoruichi said, a hint of a smile breaking her serious look for a moment. Then the seriousness slipped back on. "The truth is that...I love you. I've loved you all along."

Soi was too shocked to reply. But it wasn't long before her shock turned to anger. "If that's true, why didn't you take me with you? Why did you choose Kisuke over me?" She was sorely tempted to walk away, but as long as Yoruichi was talking, Soi would get the whole truth out of her.

Yoruichi sighed. "Is that what you thought?" She shook her head. "I'll let you in on a little secret: Kisuke is my brother. Well, half-brother. Same father, different mothers. His mother was a mistress of my father's. Naturally, it was kept a secret. Imagine the scandal if anyone found out that a bastard child was the true heir of the Shihouin family." She stared off into the distance. "But his mother died, and her last wish was for Kisuke to live a good life, so my father took him in. And when my father was about to die, he told me the truth, and asked me to take care of my brother."

Soi was too stunned to say anything, but it didn't matter, as Yoruichi continued her story. "When Aizen framed Kisuke, I did what I had to do. There was no way I was going to let Kisuke be unfairly sentenced for something he didn't do. And I wasn't going to let eight people get killed because Central 46 couldn't accept Vizards. I'm not that kind of person."

Yoruichi's eyes returned to Soi. "I wanted to take you with me. But I didn't have time to get you. And they wouldn't let me come back for you after we were safe."

"I see," Soi replied after a moment. She turned away. "Why are you telling me this now? What do you want from me?"

Yoruichi looked taken aback for a moment. "What do you mean?" she asked.

Soi turned and met Yoruichi's gaze, her eyes still blazing angrily. "Did you really think you could just come back after 100 years and tell me you love me, and everything would be okay?" Soi asked.

Yoruichi's eyes saddened. "I guess that would be expecting too much. But I do love you. And I...thought you felt the same. So I thought this would be easier. I thought we could finally be together."

Soi's anger diminished and she sighed. "It's not that I don't love you, because I do. But how can I know you won't leave again? I already gave my heart to you once only to have it broken. As much as I would love to be with you, I don't know if I could bear losing you again. I don't want to get hurt."

Yoruichi's shoulders slumped in defeat. "I understand," she said. "I just want you to be happy. Even if - even if it's not..with me." She bit her lip to keep from crying.

Her expression almost broke Soi's resolve. "I can't promise anything, but I will think about it. I just need some time, Yoruichi," Soi said finally.

Yoruichi attempted a smile. "Take all the time you need, Soi. I'm not going anywhere. I'll be at the Shihouin estate if you need to find me." She took off as quickly as she had appeared, leaving Soi alone with her thoughts.

AF-kohai- yeah, i agree

it seems more real if there is angst between them, but even the fluff stuff works

remember in the flashback Soi had, that was just light-hearted fluff

Yoru was messing with Soi's hair and stuff XD

CaptainYoru- great, ill read it later, but from what i already saw it looks great :wtf

that was a very fluffy moment :lmao i think any moment where Soi blushes at Yoru is fluffy and funny because either Yoru is doing it on purpose or she is so oblivious toi Soi's feelings :rofl

This part is short and ends on a cliffhanger of sorts.
Disclaimer/Warnings: I still don't own Bleach. Cussing. Still a little angsty.

These Are My Confessions (Part 3)
"So, you don't want me to beat her up. But, you don't want me to talk some sense into her, either," Kuukaku stated. Yoruichi nodded. "Why the hell not?" Kuukaku fumed.

"I want it to be her choice, Kuukaku," Yoruichi answered quietly. "Her happiness is important to me, and she's the only one who can decide what will make her happy. If I'm not part of that, then so be it."

"Oh for fuck's sake, Yoruichi. Why shouldn't you be part of it? She wouldn't have told you she still loved you if she was really intent on moving on, you idiot."

"But maybe telling me is part of moving on," Yoruichi argued.

Kuukaku growled and paced the room like a caged animal. "I don't understand you sometimes. We've known each other since we were kids, and never once had I seen you cry, not even when your parents died. Yet here you are, doing exactly that." She fixed Yoruichi with a glare. "So don't give me any bullshit about how you don't care if she's not with you as long as she's happy, because we both know that's not true. Stop being such a goddamned princess. You don't have to be strong for everyone all the time. Sometimes you should just do what you want and not worry about what anyone else thinks. Even that brat Byakuya understands that."

Yoruichi was about to respond, but before she could say anything, one of Kuukaku's servants interrupted to whisper something in Kuukaku's ear. The Shiba woman nodded. "I see. Thank you," she said. The servant bowed and exited. "Would you like a glass of milk?" Kuukaku asked suddenly, changing the subject.

"Huh? Um, sure," Yoruichi replied, thrown off a little.

Kuukaku disappeared, reappearing shortly with two glasses in her left hand; one with milk for Yoruichi, and one with sake for herself.

Yoruichi took a sip of her milk. "Now, as I was going to say before I was so rudely interrupted..." she trailed off as the world started to spin. "What...did you put in my milk, Kuukaku?" she managed to ask before passing out.

I promise some of the answers to questions that come up from this will be in the next part. :)

Well I'm still working on part 4. The dialogue is tricky. Which sucks, because I know what I want to do with the end (part 5), but I have to get there first. :D But I can honestly say this is probably the first fic I've written in a linear fashion, so I guess that's something.

Don't you have the end of yours to post up, Joyling? :)

Okies, I finished part 4.
Disclaimer: Cussing. And I still don't own Bleach. :(

These Are My Confessions (Part 4)
A shadow fell over Soi's desk. "You're Soi Fon, aren't you?" a female voice asked. "I was told I would find you here."

"Who's asking?" Soi replied. Then she looked up and met an angry pair of blue eyes. "Kuukaku Shiba? What do you want?"

Kuukaku didn't answer directly. "Aren't you supposed to be Yoruichi's bodyguard or something?" She sneered. "You're not very good at it, you know."

"What do you mean? Did something happen?" Soi asked cautiously.

"No, she's fine. She's just unconscious," Kuukaku replied casually.

"Why? What did you do to her?" Soi asked. Her eyes narrowed dangerously.

"She didn't want me to talk to you, so I had to drug her in order for us to have this little chat without her interrupting," Kuukaku explained. She sat down on Soi's desk, making herself comfortable.

Soi crossed her arms but remained seated for the time being. "I see. And just what are we talking about?"

Kuukaku fixed Soi with a glare. "Don't play stupid with me. You know why I'm here."

"I can guess, but I don't see how it's any of your business," Soi replied.

"Because I'm making it my business. That's what friends do," Kuukaku asserted. "So let's start with the obvious. Do you love her or not?"

"Why do you care?" Soi asked.

"Just answer the damn question."

Soi scowled. "You should already know that I do. Didn't she tell you the part where I told her I did love her?"

"Uh-huh, but I wanted you to admit it," Kuukaku replied. "She loves you. You love her. So what's your problem, then?"

"As I told her, she already broke my heart once. Why should I give it to her again so easily?" Soi asked icily.

Kuukaku frowned. "Don't you think you're being a little selfish?" she asked. "Did you ever think about how hard it was for her?"

"Hard on her to do what? Leave? Please. She acts like it was just a vacation," Soi said irritably.

"Of course she does, you idiot. That's the kind of person she is. Don't forget she's a goddamned princess," Kuukaku said.

"What does that have to do with it?" Soi interrupted.

"For as much as she doesn't act like a noble, she still was raised that way. 'My people before myself' or some other such bullshit. Trust me, I know. And the Shihouin clan in particular has many obligations to the people of Soul Society as well as to the World of the Living. If she left you behind it was because the needs of many people outweighed the needs of one person." She looked out the window. "It must have been difficult being aware of Aizen's traitorous nature and not being able to do anything about it until a hundred years later. But due in part to her actions, Soul Society was able to defeat Aizen and save thousands of people in Karakura Town from being killed."

Soi sighed and thought about it for a while. Kuukaku had a point there. Time for a new course of distraction. "Why does it matter to you so much, anyway?" Soi asked. She was genuinely curious.

"She's my friend. Do I need another reason?" Kuukaku asked. Then she looked at Soi, and seemed to be appraising Yoruichi's love interest."Ok, I do have my own selfish reason," Kuukaku admitted finally.

"Oh? I thought so. Let's hear it, then," Soi said smugly.

"Don't tell Yoruichi I told you this," Kuukaku started. "But she used to have a crush on me when we were younger."

Soi looked shocked. "She had a crush on you?" she asked, incredulous. "That's hard to believe. When did you say this was? I certainly never heard about it."

"It was before she met you, stupid. But that's beside the point. Shut up and let me finish the story," Kuukaku growled.

Soi leaned back in her chair. "Fine. Go on."

"As I was saying. Yoruichi had a crush on me. Unfortunately for her, I don't swing that way, and I was in love with her brother. But even though she knew that, it's not easy to fall out of love. Kisuke and I, we both felt bad about it. So, when she told us about you, we were both happy that she had gotten over me."

"She told you about me? When was that?" Soi couldn't help but interrupt.

Kuukaku scowled at being interrupted, but humored Soi. "Well she told us about you from the first time she met you, but I think she told me she had a crush on you shortly after you became one of her personal guards." She rolled her eyes remembering it. "Of course, her chicken ass didn't tell you, and then she had to leave so she never got the chance."

"I had no idea," Soi said softly, looking thoughtful. "Please continue your story." She wanted to hear more.

"As I was saying, Kisuke and I were happy because she had a chance at being happy." Kuukaku glared at Soi. "So, do you understand why it upsets me that you are doing this to her? Since the moment you talked and she came to me, she didn't stop crying until I drugged her."

Soi wrapped her arms around herself defensively. "But she told me that she just wanted me to be happy, even if it wasn't with her. Why would she do that if it makes her so upset?"

Kuukaku sighed. "Haven't I told you, that's just how she is? She puts your happiness above hers. At her own expense. She's like that with all of her friends."

Soi frowned. "But I - never wanted that. To hurt her enough to make her cry."

"Well, you did. So what are you going to do about it?" Kuukaku asked.

"I don't - I don't even know. What...should I do?"

"For starters? Why don't you just talk to her?" Kuukaku suggested helpfully. "I had someone take her back to her estate. Go wait for her to wake up. Make sure she drinks water; it will make the drug leave her system faster," she added.

Soi nodded. "You're right, I should talk to her," she admitted.

Kuukaku hopped down from Soi's desk. "Of course I'm right," she said. "Don't disappoint me," she added, leaving before Soi could respond.

Part 5 shall be the fluff! But here's a question, do you want some yuri action too? :XD! I was thinking of writing two versions just in case. One that ends in HLS (hot lesbian sex) and one that doesn't.

Also, Joyling and I are working jointly on a YoruSoi fic. I don't know if she wants to wait to reveal it or what, so I won't mention the plot or anything. But it's off to a good start so far, and it will probably be considerably lengthy. Maybe I can convince her to post the first chapter. ^__^

Welcome, Amelia_Seyruun! YAY internet!!! :lala

CaptainYoruichi was right, having the net down was sort of a good thing. I have the first chapter ready of our joint fic, and holy crap is it a long chapter. When I finished it I sent a text to Yoru-taichou saying I was sorry to do this to her but the first chapter was 3 full pages in Word. There is seriously nowhere good to break it up into anything smaller. We haven't agreed on the title yet, but for right now the first chapter has one. It's called "Wake Up." And yes, it looks like it's going to be a gigantic monster of a story. :uhuh

WARNING: Contains nekkid chicks, adult situations, hung-over Kuukaku, and MMO-reference. But I promise it isn't as bad as it sounds.

Soifon always hated these dreams the most. It was bad enough to have dreams at all - random firings in her brain. Random meant not in her control, which was almost always equaled bad. Certainly she was never in control of what her orders were, or where and when Hollows appeared. But her job was to bring order to these situations. Putting things back into control.

Regardless, of all the things she wasn’t in conscious control of, dreams often were the worst. Somehow, at random, it managed to pick the very worst things and bring them to vivid life. Take now, for instance. She was lying in a bed, her hair unbraided and flowing in loose waves down her back. Pale sunlight shone through the small, high window on the wall above the bed. It was still quite early, just a bit after sunrise. Birds chirped cheerfully to signal the start of a new day. Everything seemed normal - everything except one. She was not alone in the bed.

Well, and it wasn’t her bed. That was also a little odd, but in dreams these things happened, and were usually within the realm of things she could deal with. The room seemed to belong to the person who lay beside her, although for some reason it wasn‘t in Soul Society but rather in the living world. She’d seldom seen Yoruichi with her hair down, save for in much older times, when it was too short to be held in its now-customary ponytail. She’d imagined Yoruichi would still manage to look stunning in her sleep. Instead her deep purple hair was in rumpled disarray. Her dark limbs were flung out in illogical directions, not at all curled like a cat as Soifon had expected. Her face was lined with marks from the pillows and sheets, and her lips were parted slightly. She appeared to be … drooling.

What sort of nightmare was this? As she began to get a bearing for her surroundings - always practical even in her sleep - Yoruichi thrashed about, rolling from her back onto her side, smacking Soifon across the stomach. Restlessly the Goddess of Flash pawed at her hair, tossing it out of her way and off of her neck. She mumbled and then finally settled, sighing in satisfaction. One arm had wrapped tightly around Soifon’s waist. At this Soifon noted that she didn’t have anything on, nor did Yoruichi. Even with all the inconsistencies, it still seemed that it was another of those dreams.

She slowly tried to extricate herself from her former mentor’s grasp. Try being the operative word. As she gently attempted to disengage Yoruichi’s fingers, the older woman loosened her grip from the younger’s waist, only to sleepily thread her fingers through Soifon’s own. She mumbled a bit more, smiled, and rolled again, this time bumping her forehead hard against the Chinese girl’s collarbone.

“Unh!” she groaned, one golden eye finally halfway open. Soifon stared down at her quizzically, wondering when she’d wake up. “Nng. Soi.” Yoruichi’s other eye slowly opened as well. “S’too early.” Both eyelids lowered again and her grip on Soifon’s hand tightened. “C’m back t’ sleep.”

“I ah … need to use the restroom.”

“Mmm. ‘Kay.” Finally she was permitted up. Gray eyes scanned around the room for her clothing. Or anything she could put on, she wasn't feeling that selective at the moment. Clothes were scattered in a trail from the bedroom door to the foot of the bed, but Soifon didn’t recognize any of them. She picked up the smaller of the two shirts and threw it over her head, pulling it on. After that she spotted a pair of black shorts hanging off a short bookshelf, and pulled those hastily on as well. Coming to the door, she noted at least it was locked. She unlocked it and continued out.

Deciding she better have a look around, Soifon made her way out of the bedroom and into a hallway. The carpeting was cream-colored and surprisingly very thin. The walls were a bland shade of yellow, and some type of cable snaked its was along the floor. On her left was a closed door from which no sound could be heard. From behind another closed door on the right she heard muffled talking and clicking, although only one voice was present. It sounded suspiciously like Urahara Kisuke - she decided to let that lie for a moment as she padded softly down the hallway.

The end of the hallway opened up into a medium-sized room. Mismatched chairs and an exceedingly ugly couch were set out around a large television. Five small black boxes were placed around the walls of the room, among framed photographs and pictures. Various odd-shaped things Soifon didn’t recognize were strewn across the floor, as well as what appeared to be musical instruments, though she wasn’t sure how they might work, since they lacked strings. An immense and very real-looking drum set was in the corner. And loud snoring emanated from the couch.

Soifon peeked over the back of the couch to see a heap of empty cans that stank of alcohol, and a person partially under a blanket. A pair of feet poked out one end of the blanket and shaggy black hair out the other. Suddenly the person stirred, nearly falling off the couch. One leg shot out, pushing against the floor while an arm grabbed at the back of the sofa, half-sitting and half-pushing herself back onto the multicolored monstrosity. The blanket fell from the occupant’s face to reveal Shiba Kuukaku. Her blue eyes focused briefly on Soifon before snapping back shut, slowly reclining back to a lying position and grabbing two fistfuls of the blanket to pull back over her head.

Wait. Two?

“Fong,” Kuukaku practically growled from beneath the blanket. “Go back ta bed f’r gods sake. It’s too early fer me ta deal with ya.”

This … was a really weird dream. Soifon made her way through the living room into a kitchen area. A small table was strewn with several thick, complicated-looking textbooks and papers with formulas scribbled hastily across them. A larger table further in seemed to be one used for eating. It was actually clean, as was the rest of the kitchen. She didn’t look into any of the cupboards, for fear anything else unexpected should be waiting for her inside.

Finally she arrived at the restroom, on the far end of the house. She peered at her reflection and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. She found a comb and ran it through her hair, and thought about putting the braids back in, but she wasn’t sure where her hoops were and decided it could wait. Maybe the hoops were in Yoruichi’s room. Passing back through the living room, Soifon noted Kuukaku was once again snoring facedown on the wretchedly-colored couch. Sure enough, Kuukau did have a right arm, and it hung off the side of the couch, her fingertips grazing the thin carpet. As she passed by the next closed door, she heard much less amiable-sounding chatter from the other side. Unable to resist, she knocked gently on the door, and it creaked open under her touch.

“No, I told you I was out of mana! Why didn’t you stop pulling, I’m your main heal! How can it be MY fault we wiped if you decided to keep pulling anyway?” Indeed it was Urahara, wearing a headset hooked to a computer and chattering away at someone not in the room about who knew what - and oddly enough, in English rather than Japanese. Seeing her in the doorway, he clicked a button on the cable and raised his eyebrows in concern. He changed back to Japanese with barely a pause. “Oh, Soi-chan! I’m sorry, did I wake you? I’ll try to keep it down. I know you guys were probably up pretty late last night.” He winked suggestively and waved her off. Clicking the button again, he returned to his English rant at a noticeably quieter volume. “Scouting? You know how those mobs aggro! At least have the tank kite it for you until I have enough mana to sleep it!” Soifon pulled the door closed once more and, unsure what else to do, went back into Yoruichi’s room.

Come to think of it, the dream should have changed by now. Usually they changed pretty fast. A somewhat puzzled Soifon quietly closed the door behind her and padded over to the bed. Yoruichi looked half-awake now. Her topaz eyes flicked up to Soifon and a grin plastered itself across her face. The pillow-marks had faded a bit, but her hair was as messy as before. “There you are. Come back to bed,” she said invitingly. “Aww, you look so cute in my shorts.”

Obediently, Soifon sat down on the bed, and Yoruichi grabbed her hand, then trailed the fingers of her opposite hand across Soifon’s palm. She was making it hard not to give in and lie down. She decided to change the subject, but she did allow Yoruichi to continue touching her. It felt very nice even though it tickled. “Shiba Kuukaku-san is asleep on the couch.” She didn’t mention that Kuukaku had both her arms.

Yoruichi laughed. “I know, sometimes she just passes out there. She snores like a chainsaw, I’m surprised I’ve gotten used to it. I’m sorry if she bothered you. Same with Kisuke, at least you didn’t have to hear him when his raid fell apart. That’s kinda what got me up.” Her fingers trailed lightly up Soifon’s arm and back down. “Now that we’re up … we can sleep in.” She planted a kiss in Soifon’s palm.

“Hmm,” Soifon said agreeably, still looking around the room. A flat-panel television was mounted to the wall, and beneath it was a stand with several machines on it. Shelves similar to the short bookshelf lined one wall, but there weren’t many actual books. Instead countless uniform-sized cases stood side by side. Soifon couldn’t fathom what they were for, but then again she had never spent too much time in the living world. She wondered at how she could fabricate this much detail to something so unfamiliar.

She found herself being pulled backwards onto the bed by Yoruichi. She didn’t resist. Nor did she resist when she felt Yoruichi’s lips pressing softly against her own. They wrapped their arms around each other, then Yoruichi pulled back and gently kissed Soifon’s forehead. “Tell me when you fell in love with me.”

Soifon felt her cheeks warm. “In love? Hm, it was a hundred and fourteen years ago, in the spring, when I knew.” Yoruichi’s breath was warm on her cheek, and she snuggled closer against her love, allowing herself to enjoy this part of her dream.

Yoruichi laughed. “You’re so silly, Soi.” She kissed the Chinese girl on the tip of her nose. “For me it was at the beginning of last semester. I can’t believe it took you so long to catch on. I thought I’d have to buy out your entire store for you to notice me.” She gestured to the shelves Soifon had been looking at before.

“My … store?”

Yoruichi grinned. “Ah, we can pretend it doesn’t exist for right now. I’m happier here anyway.”

Soifon nodded. “Me too. This is a really nice dream,” she commented.

“Mmm. It isn’t a dream, my little bee.” The purple-haired woman kissed Soifon’s neck and slid a hand underneath the dark-haired girl’s t-shirt. “It’s very, very real.”

Soifon tugged at the hem of the shirt, pulling it upwards and over her head, tossing it onto the floor beside the bed. “It sure feels real, Yoruichi-sama. But of course it isn’t.” She sighed happily anyway, satisfied for the time to take what she could get. She could be upset once she woke up, for being so weak.

Yoruichi smiled. “You called me ‘sama.’” She pulled her smaller lover tight against her, loving the still-new feeling of Soi’s body reacting to her own. “And would you like me to show you just how real this is?” She lowered her lips to Soi’s collarbone.

Soifon nodded eagerly, giving herself over to this momentary pleasure. “Mmm, that feels so good. I thought you hated being called ‘sama’ though.” She shivered with delight as her Goddess moved across her collarbone towards her shoulder.

“I don‘t hate it. Actually, the way you say it, I think it’s kinda sexy.” Once she reached Soi’s shoulder, she suddenly stopped and pulled away. “Wait. Where’s your butterfly?”

“What? My butterfly?” Soifon asked in confusion.

Yoruichi paled. “Your tattoo. The homounka.”

“Yoruichi-sama, I don’t have any tattoos.”

Chapter title notes: All the chapter titles of my side come from Story of the Year songs. Wake Up is on their album The Black Swan. The title is obvious but the lyric that has the most relevance to the story as a whole is this:
Will we find out that everything we know exists inside of a fraction

Unofficial welcome to the FC, Ninatina!

Why do you like SoiYoru?

Well Soi only fought an Arrancar. I think when she fights an Espada, if Yoruichi doesn't actually join her (*hopes*), then I think that's when she'd be likely to think of Yoru.

Soi always shines when she is with Yoruichi. I'm sure she'll do well if Yoruichi is there as well (not that she won't if she's alone) but it's just that Yoruichi is her pillar of strength and I'm sure she doesn't want to look weak in front of her either.

Welcome to the club, Joyling, Rain. So, what's your favorite Soi x Yoruichi moment?

I think one of the cutest panels I've seen is the flashback part where Yoru is stealing food off of Soi's plate. XD!

That has to be my favorite, one, too. xD

Or the part where Yoru sneaks up behind Soi and just scares her for the fun of it.

Can I join?

Of course! The more, the merrier. :D

Ok well I have good news and bad news.

The bad news first: Due to a colossal miscommunication with Verizon, Joyling and I are without internet until mid-December. :wah So right now we're using internet cafes and the generosity of friends to get our online fix.

The good news? Well, that gives us a lot of time to write fic. So probably by the time we get our own internet back, the fic should actually be totally done, and you'll get all of it at once! :D

First of all - welcome to the FC, Ninatina and Sannalan! Hope you guys enjoy yourself. Sorry I haven't been able to say hello sooner! :lala

Secondly - thanks to everyone who is reading the fic. :inlove Sorry that it's probably gonna be a while before it can update. I have my next chapter ready, but CaptainYoruichi isn't quite done with hers, and we're alternating chapters. I really look forward to being able to post it.

Third - and completely OT! - it really SUCKS being without internet. :nooo I miss you guys! CaptainYoruichi was on the phone with them today because we're still being billed for service that we aren't receiving. At this point everyone in the house has been on the phone with them except Yoru-taichou's gram and me. They seem to have turned our DSL back on but it's running as slow as dial-up, it's so frustrating. >< And I have to reinstall FFXI on my 360 because of the Dashboard update. :eep

The Yoruichi + Soi Fon vs Barragan idea still gives us hope then :yay In the beginning, I had hoped it would be Yoruichi vs. Halibel and the 3 fraccions vs. Soi Fon, and them helping each other or something XP It's gonna seem a bit odd if Hitsugaya can solo Halibel and need 2 stronger captains for Barragan though :notrust

Sounds like you're having a lot of fun writing together huh? XD At least you have that while waiting on your Internet to get back to normal :amuse I think everyone has those issues at some point, and with re-installing FFXI :faint I've had to do that like 4 times myself, so you're not alone :crazy lol I've only read parts of your story but I'll be sure to read it fully when it's complete :yay

I just tried to make a Youtube vid for YoruSoi :inlove I used "Beyonce - If I were a boy" :wha I kinda took it literal :notrust And made it look like Soi Fon was jealous of/wanted to be Urahara :scared And stopped at the argument scene to show clips of her and Kisuke looking away from each other... And ended with the scene of young Yoruichi showing Soi Fon how to swing her Zanpakutou in the forest :wtf

Edit: Another cute AMV I found XP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpZrXARt9Cs&feature=related

The internet is seemingly back up. I can at least access the net. It's just pretty slow (almost like dial-up ..the horror!). I don't know how long it's going to last, though, so I'm going to post up what I have of part 5 of my story (minus the HLS scene which I still haven't gotten around to).

These Are My Confessions (Part 5 beginning)

Soi paused at the door of the Shihouin residence, tentatively pushing the unlocked door open. She hated the thought of going in uninvited, but it wasn't as though Yoruichi was awake to let her in. Soi closed the door behind her and looked around. It was only the second time she'd been there, but it was just as she remembered. Decorated enough to look like a place a noble would live in, but sparse enough to be practical. A few black cat hairs and some purple human ones on the ground were the only indication that someone was presently living there. Soi couldn't help but smile a little at Yoruichi's lack of house-keeping skills before she continued on to where she remembered Yoruichi's room to be.

Soi stopped at the door, hesitant to go in. But it was quiet on the other side; almost too quiet, and Soi decided she should check on Yoruichi to make sure the drug hadn't had any adverse side effects. Finally entering the room, Soi stopped short at what she saw. Yoruichi was curled up asleep on her bed, hugging a bee plushie close to her chest. Other plush bees of various sizes were scattered around the room. The idea that bee plushies even existed was surprising enough, but for Yoruichi to have so many of them was a shock to Soi. She walked around the room quietly, checking all of them out. Some were older than others, judging by the way they were bleached from the sun, or in some cases, just plain worn-out. She must have collected them while in the World of the Living and brought them with her when she came back, Soi thought, deeply touched. The reasoning behind such a collection was probably identical to her own for her black cat plushie collection; they served as a simple reminder of someone cherished. With that thought, Soi's attention went back to the sleeping figure of Yoruichi. Whoever had brought her back had removed her orange jacket, so she was sleeping in the shozoku she usually wore underneath. Other than a faint puffiness about her eyes, there was no indication that she'd been crying, and in fact she looked rather peaceful.

She also didn't look like she was going to wake up anytime soon. Soi sighed and decided to go get water. It wouldn't take that long, but it was at least something to do while she waited for Yoruichi to wake up. Quietly exiting the room, she headed in the direction of the kitchen. When she reached it, something on the table caught her eye. She walked up to the table for a closer look. Pictures and frames of all sizes were scattered about. Idly, Soi picked up one of the pictures. It was a picture of Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki. The Ryoka had his arm around Rukia, and they both looked quite happy. Soi turned the picture over to see writing on the back. "Yoruichi-san, thanks. Without your training I wouldn't have been able to save Rukia." It was signed by Ichigo. Underneath it was another note. "Yoruichi-dono, thank you. I know without your help I wouldn't be here today." That one was from Rukia. Soi set the picture down and picked up another, which turned out to be of Kisuke and Kuukaku. "Yoru-chan, you're the best sister a guy could have. Thanks for helping me out of trouble all the time." Soi didn't have to decipher the signature to know who wrote that. "Thanks for saving the world, but don't forget about yourself, you damn princess." That was obviously Kuukaku. Soi smiled wryly and put the picture down, picking up another in its place. Shinji Hirako and the rest of the Vizards stared out at her. "Yoruichi-sama, you left everything behind to help us escape. Words can't truly express our gratitude." Eight different signatures adorned that one. Soi set the photograph down and moved on to the next one. It was of Byakuya and Rukia Kuchiki. "Shihouin Yoruichi. As much as it pains me to admit it, I owe you a debt of gratitude. For saving Rukia, I thank you. And for training me in advanced shunpo techniques long ago, I thank you." Soi couldn't help but grin a little at seeing Byakuya being humble for once as she set the picture back in its place. Right next to it, a somewhat large photograph of the present Gotei 13 was signed by most of the captains and had an inscription from the Commander General himself, Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryūsai. "Shihouin Yoruichi, I believe your parents would be very proud." Briefly, Soi wondered why she hadn't been asked to sign it, and silently agreed with the Commander General.

There were other pictures, but Soi didn't read the rest of them. She didn't need to. She could already guess what they would say just from who was in them. The Ryoka healer, Orihime Inoue, was in one. The tall, quiet Ryoka Sado "Chad" Yasutora was in another. There were individual pictures of the Vizards. One picture had Ukitake Juushiro and Shunsui Kyōraku. There was a common theme that was hard to miss. All of them were people whose lives had been touched by Yoruichi at one point or another. Kuukaku's words about the needs of many sprung up in Soi's mind, and she frowned. All these years she'd thought only of herself and how Yoruichi leaving made her feel. She'd been too blinded by her own pain and anger to see how anyone else had been affected, good or bad. But here it was for her to see now, and she finally understood what Kuukaku meant.

She sighed and started to move away from the table, intent on getting water and getting back so that she could be there when Yoruichi woke up. There were a lot of things she wanted to say, and she tried to arrange them in her head. Then a picture she'd missed caught her eye. It was half-covered by a protective sheet, which is why she hadn't noticed it right away. Soi's eyes widened as she uncovered the large portrait in its entirety. It was a photograph of her from the day she had been initiated as a captain. She remembered that picture well, as she normally despised having her picture taken. But at the time she had been too happy to think much about it and had gone along without much fuss. Now curious, she flipped the picture over to see what was written on the back. "Yoruichi-san, I thought you would like this picture that I took long ago of your Little Bee on her first day as a captain. She would probably never admit it, but you were a driving force behind her success, since her reason for training so hard was to surpass you. As for that other matter...I'm sure she'll come around. You deserve to be happy together." It was signed by Captain Unohana, of all people. Did everyone except me know how Yoruichi-sama felt about me? Soi wondered. Or does Unohana just know because she's Captain Mom? She put the picture back carefully and closed her eyes for a moment, unhappy with herself for being such a stubborn idiot. Why didn't I just say, 'Yes, let's be together'? she chastised herself. That is what I want. What I've always wanted, really.

When she felt she was ready, she opened her eyes, and finished getting the water she had come for in the first place. She went back to Yoruichi's room to find the other woman finally awake. Yoruichi had managed to sit up and she looked irritated. "Kuukaku what's the idea?" She stopped seeing that it wasn't Kuukaku. "Soi?" Yoruichi looked genuinely confused. "What are you doing here?" She looked around. "And how did I get here? I just remember Kuukaku drugging me." She frowned, remembering that she and Kuukaku had been discussing Soi. "Did she...do anything to you?" There was a slightly dangerous look in her golden eyes, which Soi noted were still bloodshot from crying.

Soi was quick to shake her head. "No, we just talked." She handed Yoruichi the glass of water. "She told me that drinking this will make the drug wear off faster."

Yoruichi gratefully took the glass and drank all of the water before setting the cup down. "Is that all she told you?" She got up and stretched, keeping her eyes on Soi.

"No, there were other things we talked about. But that's not important right now," Soi said. She summoned her courage. "I've had time to think about it. Us being together, I mean." For a second, a strange mix of hopefulness and dread flashed in golden eyes. Just as quickly, they were impassive, giving no indication of how Yoruichi truly felt. Soi felt a pang of guilt that she could even cause such a thing as dread. Quietly closing the distance between them, Soi reached up and cupped one of Yoruichi's cheeks in her hand. Yoruichi stared at Soi, questioning. "You deserve more than anyone to be happy, Yoruichi. Who was I to make you wait?" Soi smiled and then kissed Yoruichi softly as her answer.

The net should be fully back up for us on Wednesday next week. CaptainYoruichi is working on her chapter and it's coming along pretty good. I'm starting on my third chapter, which will be chapter 5. I got a head start on it since she was still working on Confessions Chapter 4 when I started.

@ Luhy, once the net is running faster than we've got it now, I'll be sure to check out the vid you linked.

And re: manga, YES, Yoruichi needs to get back into the story, and I'd love to see her and Soi fight Barragan together. I asked Yoru-taichou what she wanted for Christmas, and she said Yoruichi in the manga. :XD I told her I was doing the best that I could, maybe she should write to Kubo-claus.... :lmao

(And somehow I 30-seconded myself? It took more than 30 seconds to write all that. Maybe the connection is dragging that bad??)

Chapter 2 - "Stranger In a Strange Land"
Omaeda Marechiyo jumped, startled, as Shihouin Yoruichi suddenly appeared in front of him. "Taichou!" he exclaimed, and stood at attention as quickly as he could, hiding his bag of crackers behind him. Sweat beaded his brow as he awaited the reprimand he was sure was coming his way. Soifon Taichou always got on his case about them, so he was sure Yoruichi Taichou would as well. Recently he’d stopped carrying them, but today, both his Taichous had been running late, so he’d been eating them while he waited. It was just his (bad) luck that Yoruichi Taichou had shown up when she did.

Yoruichi grinned, amused. Even though it was routine for the squad to start training around this time of day, she still startled Omaeda every time she showed up. The nervous look on his face because of the crackers just made it even better. She bit off part of a cracker that Omaeda hadn't even seen her take and tried not to laugh at how much he was squirming. “Hey, these are pretty good,” she said, deciding to give him a break. Omaeda’s relief was almost visible.

Yoruichi smirked before looking around. “Where’s Soi? It’s not like her to be late,” she remarked, her expression more serious. “I wonder what’s taking her so long.”

“I don’t know, but I think she’s still in her personal quarters,” Omaeda answered, trying to be helpful.

“You didn’t bother to check on her?” Yoruichi asked, raising one finely arched eyebrow questioningly.

“Me? Check on her? Of course not! Taichou would kill me if I entered her
