CALLING ALL FANS OF DOCTOR WHO AND/OR TORCHWOOD!

Torchwood is going to be shown in America, starting September, according to actor John Barrowman's website. Parts of the episode may be taken out to fit it into the time slot, however it hopefully won't mean much.

As for Doctor Who? Already on American television! I recently saw the episode Rose on the Sci-fi channel, meaning that they probably started off at.. maybe the beginning of the 2005 series.

For those who don't know, Doctor Who is about a time traveling humanoid alien who calls himself 'the doctor', and Torchwood is a spin-off of Doctor Who, centered around a time agent from the 51st century(who was once one of the doctor's companion) who calls himself Captain Jack Harkness, and he leads Torchwood 3, the Cardiff branch of the Torchwood Institute. They basically find alien artifacts and deal with aliens. (That's the best summary I could give. XP)

So, who else thinks the tenth doctor is the hottest of them all?

I do think the Tenth Doctor is the hottest of them all. Hot damn, I'd totally hit that.

I am madly obsessed with Torchwood though, especially with Ianto and Owen. I watch it on the internet since the BBC America version is censored :(

A friend of mine actually dressed as Ianto for this year's San Diego Comic Con International. I'm thinking of cosplaying as Toshiko for next year's Comic Con.

Best. Avatar. Ever.....I LOVE Ianto!

They are going to air the 2nd special Christmas next week here and then continue with the season 3 XD
I love the Doctor very much, both 9th and 10th. I think 9th was a better actor though and he was overall better as a Doctor, however I do love 10th too, especially when he goes all fanboying XD Actually, the two episodes that made me cry the most were with 10th (The Girl in the Fireplace with Madame de Pompadour and Doomsday with Rose). I have some favourites (The End of the World, The Parting of the Ways, The Shakespeare Code -which is one of the rare episodes of the last season I saw).
I liked Rose, but I also like Martha and Jack cracks me up. Torchwood, I find myself less addicted to it, it lacks something the Doctor has -mainly the humour I think, but also the kitsch? XD I like to watch it from time to time though :p

i loved how the master came back in season 3 and jack is the face of boe. john simm did a mint job as the master. it was also brilliant when the doctor lost the plot when martha told him about the watch. the remake of the sylvester mccoy doctor who book human nature was much better han the book. Also the rumour is still goin round about james nesbit as the 11th doc.
As for torchwood i only watched it incase it was a build up for season three and i was right.
I'm british by the way and if you need any more knowlege on doctor who alone then there's another thread in film and tv and a poll in social general.

I just saw the last eps of season 3 of Dr Who and damn, I find myself fangirling about the Dr and Martha. Martha is, to simply put it, awesome; I will miss her in the next season. Tenth was very lovable in the last ep and his forgiveness, his tears for the Master made him all in all better, less tough than what Tenth usually is.

It cracked me up how they revealed that face of Boe was Jack :lmao I will watch next season of Torchwood just to see Martha again ^^ I'm glad she stays in this universe, because I think her character is one of the best. I loved Rose as well, but Martha brings something that Rose didn't, IMHO and the fact that she's not a love interest makes it all better (so that her character is not reduced to that).

Yes I am a big fan of doctor who did not expect to see one of these here and torchwood is not that bad either.

Oh and if you saw the preview for the next season martha will be shown again in at least one episode of the next season.

Oh and this is some stuff I have heard out there for the comeing season 4.
-devros will return (I want this one to happen so I hope this rumor is true)
-rasilon will for some reason make a come back (this happening is very unlikely)
-the cyberman will not be in the up coming season at all (to bad if this is true)
-the cyberman will be in one of the first episodes (ok well I like this rumor)

and the next really big one I have heard that might happen.

-much like the 5th doctor came back in that special I have heard around the web and other places that the 6th doctor will be shown in the next season.

But both series own.

Oh and BD yes torchwood is on bbc 2 next month.

Whats this about Torchwood being censored? I don't what's in the US but I don't think they censor it in Canada. (Captain Jack and that guy who dies? Full on smoochie action, that girls boyfriend who likes to walk around naked and that guy who got that girlfriend form the 30's? That was something)

I watch Torchwood sometimes and every time I am surprised what they get away with since it airs at 8:00pm here on a government funded channel.

Oh I love these two shows!!
I've recently been watching the new episodes of Torchwood that air on tv every week here, (I live in england so...). I really like the stories theyvecome up with for it ^_^

I can't wait for the new season of doctor who though, so much is going to happen in it! The only thing I'm not really looking forward to is Catherine Tate coming back as the assitant or something, but other than that all looks good! I especially can't wait for the fifth doctor and rose's return, it's going to be awesome :yay

You know what I love about them though? I love the fact that they can tie in whats happening in one show to the other at times. Like the hand and Jack going to doctor who for those few episodes last seasons for example, I like the way that the two shows are kinda tied together in a way :D

@ Lady Scaper: On BBC America, Torchwood is quite edited. You get a blurring of Rhys' ass, censoring of the F-word (although shit isn't edited out). Also, some minutes are cut. This is why I watch Torchwood online =)

To all the Ianto fangirls/boys out there, haven't you noticed that Ianto just suddenly acquired a more wittier personality? And the writing on the second season of Torchwood is a lot better than the first season.

That's a good news because the first season was lacking XD I cannot comment on the first eps though D: They're not airing them yet here.
Also, in France, I don't think it's edited, because they air it around midnight during weekdays XD

I believe a box set for the first season of Torchwood has been released. It's 7 DVDs of pure campy goodness. Though I gotta admit, the second season has gotten me really hooked. I just downloaded the fourth episode, and the writing is definitely getting better.
