I think it´s a little revolution for a shounen manga to have such an exceptional female lead, because her personality isn´t the kind of an airheaded,
overall - cheery and big boobied teenage girl
(I don´t want to offend anybody through this statement; it´s just: I prefer girls in a shounen manga that are more serious and can match en par with the male lead).
IMO she has a strong personality.

For me, she´s just like a breath of fresh air in a shounen manga (though I haven´t read enough shounen to compare her with other female leads).

Rukia's been one of my favorite lady characters for a long while. I love her growth and developement, and now that she's finally and completely over her guilt of killing Kaien, she's going to rock hard when she appears in the manga again! XD

I know I'm just repeating what so many others have said, but Rukia is indeed a breath of fresh air for me in the world of animanga. I've never loved a character as much as I love her. I have to admit that she did not become an instant favorite from her very first appearance, but she grew on me quickly and by the time the Soul Society arc began, well... you all know what happened! xD

I'd like to make one thing clear, though: I don't love Rukia because of her power level or potential power level. While I'm positively itching to see her bankai and even more of her shikai and kidou skills (what Rukia fan wouldn't be, honestly?), how strong she is physically has never been a factor for how much I love her. I'm sure a lot of Rukia fans can relate to this. If I were so concerned about that, then surely my love for her during the SS arc would have lessened the more powerless she became, and not grow as much as it did! ^_^

It looks like we're missing gigai_girl, here. xD Well, until she comes:

Rukia is something else, she's strong, very focus and her resolves are rock solid (well,Gin's incident was an exceptional. He was Gin). It touched me so much in ch 269 when her last thought was still about Orihime's safety but not herself ;_; I never see a heroine like this.

And yeah, we need Gigai_gurl. I miss her so much.

After that, she gets one shot by GJ, but that's only natural because hell, even Ichigo still hasn't beat GJ. I particularily disliked how people went on that she was weak because GJ one shot her >__<
Then she freezes GJ, but still not enough to hurt him (though it wasn't her intention, she just wanted to help Ichigo). And then she one shot the gate gardian who was weak to ice.
Her fight with Aaro was one of the most bizarre way to win and lots of people still resent that she cheated. I beg to differ because as long as Kaien was out of the equation, she still thought she could beat him, even though he knew her attacks very well. And she went through an emotional wreck too at that time; so I'm very pleased to see how she went through all the fight.

In the end, she's a very strong character because her will is strong. Physically-wise she may not be the greatest, but who cares when she has so much for her already? XD

Sigh!! Me too. I have a couple preferences on how I would like to see her again,
one, is for Ichigo finding the injured Rukia, oh the angst! I am also amicable for Renji/ Byakuya (or if somehow KT can bring back)/ Kaien to find her.
two, for Rukia to wake up, all healed up and then to have Gin greeting her "How are you feeling Rukia-chan" Better still if she woke up in his quarters at the end of the chapter. I can just image the agonizing wait for the a new chapter :D

Actually do we really know he was a failure I mean Nakim seemed like a failure too in comparison to DRoy . I mean if you do think about it will anyone compliment the enemy . I mean if you were Shawlong/Edoardo would end up saying impressive or quell the defeat with something like oh yeah he is weak .

I mean DRoy was at least agile Nakim well …

The guardian was pretty strong even Getsuga Tensho couldn’t hurt him that gives you an idea.

Also that’s true people forget about the emotional trauma Rukia had to deal with . She was facing a perverse Gillian who had the face of Kaien . Rukia was indirectly responsible for that . Wouldn’t Ishida Ichigo act the same way if Uryū or Masaki were reincarnated appeared as a Perverse Gillian

The only argument they come up with is real fighters don’t break down then why did the manliest man Zaraki breakdown and cry over a defeat blaming his broken Zanpakuto ??

And was it Rukia’s fault Espada9 was into vanity and chose not to wear that helmet which was meant as a protection for having a Lava Lamp as a head

In the end, she's a very strong character because her will is strong. Physically-wise she may not be the greatest, but who cares when she has so much for her already? XD

Touche she is not skilled in Zanjutsu but you cant turn a blind eye to her other strengths

May I also join? Like some of the other posters, Rukia is my favorite female anime/manga character. Bleach isn't half as interesting without her, so thank goodness she is the heroine because I'm sure we'll continue to see her evolve both in character and power as well as see the further development and fufilment of her relationships with the other characters.

Things I want to know: her childhood before Renji which feeds into why Urahara (that lovable bastard) chose her to hide the hōgyoku; Gin's fascination with her; her 13th division seating; her zanpaktou spirit and bankai; when she is going to hook up with Ichigo :p; and much more.

Hello every body!
Rukia, is hands down, the best on my list. She's such a strong character and has many sides to her. I swear the only reason I started reading Bleach was to know more about Rukia. Now that they have revealed the her zanpakto's, Sode No Shirayuki, I can't wait for Sode to manifest herself before Rukia.

I want Rukia to get up by herself with the help of Sode, but of course I see this as impossible since she has 3 trident holes in her abdomen. I would like to see more of Rukia's history. What did she do before she met Renji and the boys? How did she survive as a baby? Why does Gin have such an interest in her? Oh so many questions, I hope we get a little memory from Rukia as she lays on the floor or before she wakes up and sees Gin standing before her.

This was something I did for Rukia FC in BF before. I thought I should post it here too since it's Rukia-centric. The translation for the Bleach second novel. I'll try my best to to post the chapters when I have time to translate them.

“Not this one either...”

A shinigami looked at the name tag on the door and it did not belong to a person he was looking for. A 7th seat officer of 4th Division, Yamada Hanatarou was holding a package in his hand. He looked like he was about to cry. The recovery building was huge and every room looked the same. Now he couldn’t find one particular room.

“Huh, Rukia-san.” Hanatarou mumbled a name of a person he was looking for and sighed. Suddenly a shadow approached him from behind.

“Hey.”

“Ahh! Sorry! My deepest apologies!” Hanatarou turned around bowed and graphed his head. If somebody approached him this way, usually they were higher seated officers ready to scold him.

“What are you apologizing for?”

“Er?” Hanatarou looked up and saw a person in front of his was 10th division captain, Hitsugaya Toushirou.

“Good afternoon Hitsugaya-taichou!”

“Hum…you’re Yamada something right?”

“Y..Yes! Fou..Fou..Fourth division, Yamada Hanatarou sir!” He replied with his hands tightened on his lap, looking nervous.

“You don’t have to act like that. I won’t do anything.”

“Yes sir! My deepest apologies.”

“I told you not to apologize.”

“Yes…sorr…Ah sorry for I was about to apo…Ah! Again sorry for…Ah!!! I said it again!” Hitsugaya narrowed his eyes, looking at Hanatarou who was stuck into this apologizing problem.

“Four rooms from here.”

“Yes?”

“Aren’t you looking for Kuchiki Rukia?”

“Yes sir! But how does Hitsugaya-taichou know where Rukia san is?”

Hitsugaya glared at Hanatarou then sighed.

“Just calm down and search for her reiatsu. You should know simple thing like this. Shouldn’t you?”

“Ah! Yes! I should have done that.” Hanatarou replied and looked at Hitsugaya with amusement. And that caused the 10th division captain to sigh again.

“For god’s sake, act better. You are a seated officer, aren’t you?”

“My deepest apology sir! And thank you very much.”

“Yeah. I’m leaving now.”

Hitsugaya left leaving Hanatarou to look at his back and bowed.

“Thank you.”

It's the scupture of the Seaweed Ambassador, it's one of my favourite Omake. Rukia had the I-so-adore-my-awesome-big-brother look on her face, and Byakuya's scupture was shinning and sparking in her eyes. I have soft spot for the Kuchikis, they are just so pretty with their matchinh Black hair, fair skins and funky noble ways I always wonder if the animal type on the dispenser influences the mod soul. Personally I think it would be funny if Byakuya gigai adopts a Hanatoru-type of personality or better still Ganju's. :p

I miss Rukia. This has been the longest pause since 181. I know she will be alright, but the wait is just excruciating. I remember how some people have said a lot of inconsiderate things in 267, such as wanting her dead so that she would be out of 'the picture'. I'm really tired of all these back and forth mockery. So I figured in the end it doesn't matter what they think. We'll still be our upfront selves with our love, and it's alright if they don't love her, or hate her. As long as we love her, and keep on supporting her. :)

We should make a Rukia Festival or something to celebrate our adoration for the Goddess of Bleach, in forms of FST, fanarts and digital graphics. ^__^ What do you guys think? I'll make Love Banners. I made one before about her and her harem, I can make others, maybe colour bars as well. Or icons.

What always gets on my nerves is where they bash her for the way she won against the 9th espada (I can't spell his name), the "how convenient the 3rd dance was for the fight" plz there are other convenient abilities out there. I mean attacks aren't just made for that moment only but something that might come into play later. Anyways, the battle was great since it had Rukia showing physical/power skill and her overcoming an emotional challenge and I dislike ppl critizing it.

She is entitled to such developments because of her heroine status, just like Ichigo is entitled to such wins and developments because he is the hero of the story. And that is exactly what has been going on with people who hate Rukia. They bring out all the reasons they can think of to put her down.

I'm not really a Bleach expert but I do have a couple of questions regarding Rukia. I posted them in other sites already but I'd like to know what the ppl here at the FC think. I have a concept for a fanfic regarding Rukia but I'm not sure what direction to take it so far.

a) Was there any reason why Ukitake hid that 'thing' (sorry I don't remember the term) in Rukia's soul? Or the only reason why it ended up with Rukia since she was the only one available?

b) With regard to past lives, Hisana was Rukia's sister in the human world right? When Rukia died in the human world how old was she? I was under the impression that the age wherein you die in the human world is the age you enter the Soul Society in.

c) Does Rukia remember her past as a human being? Does she have any recollection of her time in the human world other than being with Ichigo now?

d) How long has Rukia been living in the Soul Society? Is the number of years in the Soul Society equivalent to the number of years in the human world?

e) Does Rukia acknowlege Ichigo as Kaien's look alike? If I'm not mistaken, Byakuya did.

f) It was said that whatever Urahara put in Rukai's soul was making her soul human. Is there a difference between the soul of a human person to that of a Shinigami considering that it appears that most Shinigami's used to be humans?

g) Will Rukia's zanpakuto have other 'dances' beyond the 3rd?

a. It was Urahara. Ukitake is Rukia's superior, captain of the 13rd division. And we have no clue why he chose Rukia. It was before his exil though, so more than 100 years ago.

b. Yes, Hisana was Rukia's sister in the human world. Rukia was a baby when she died. And she entered Rukongai as a baby.

c. No. She was a baby. She doesn't even remember her very first meeting with Urahara.

d. We don't know that. She claims to be 150 years old, but I think she's a bit younger, around 110 years old. My theory is good if Kubo didn't change the number of years a soul rest in SS before reincarnating. Time in SS=time in the real world.

e. She didn't aknowledge that until Byakuya mentioned it, and even then it was pretty much brushed off. She aknoledged their resemblance in ch116 or 117, during the bridge scene, for a brief moment and never thought back of it afterwards. Kaien =/= Ichigo for her, that is very clear.

f. No, it was the gigai he lended to her that turned her human. The Hougyoku (the thing he hid in her) has the power of suppressing the barrier between a shinigami and a hollow (in his soul, aka becoming a Vaizard). The difference between the human soul and the shinigami is that shinigami has a denser (does that word exist lol?) reiatsu and thus has power. It allows his zanpakutou to awaken.

Regarding to your questions:

a)I guess you meant Urahara. It's still unknown why Urahara had chosen Rukia. But given Urahara never does anything without further plans, I think he chose Rukia for a specific reason which is yet to be revealed.

b)Rukia was an infant when she died with Hisana and was abondened by Hisana.

c)She was shown as a baby in the flashbacks of Hisana in flashbacks of Byakuya(XD) So I think she doesn't rmember anything about her life in living world at all. At least, there hasn't been any sign of it.

d) Aging in SS is quite confusing but there is a good chance she is 100-120 years old. As for her life in the living world, she probably has spent 1-2 years there, at most.

e)There was a single panel in the bridge scene where Rukia made the connection. Ichigo's smile reminded her Kaien.

f)Hougyoku didn't make Rukia a human, the gigai which he had given to Rukia was turning Rukia into human. He put it inside Rukia to hide the orb and gave Rukia that special gigai to hide Rukia. Well, something like that ^^

g) Well who knows, there might be ;)

Me too. Kubo has been so secretive about it while with other characters he let us know the meaning of their names. I remember someone said that during an interview Kubo refused to reveal what Rukia's name mean. We know that Kubo doesn't choose the name for his character randomly, I have to wonder why he won't just tell us what is the meaning of his heroine's name.

Maybe KT just wants to keep it a secret b/c it will be revealed later in the manga. Sincerely, I think it means Lucia (light) because it would go with pure white Sode no Shirayuki.\

Yeah but if Kubo took any dictionary to check it out, he should've seen that the pronunciation was way different than Rukia.
In latine languages, ci/ce is not pronunced ki/ke (after that the Italians pronunced ki/ke, the Frenchs si/se, the Spanish si/se for example).

Rukia is the heart and soul of the Bleach manga IMO, without her Ichigo and the manga itself, seems quite boring. These past couple of weeks have been torture without her because the pace has slowed considerably down and I find none of the characters, sans Ishida, Renji, Szayel, and Ulquiorra, particularly interesting.

I hope we see her soon. I hate Kubo's teasing when it comes to Rukia and he does tease us about a lot of things.

Chapter 1

Four days had passed since Aizen’s betrayal. Everything had started to recover from that incident.


“That was when Hitsugaya Taichou said ‘four rooms from here’. Taichous are really amazing!”


General Recovery Building 3rd floor


The window was wide open. Kuchiki Rukia sat on the bed next to the window listening to Hanatarou while nodding from time to time.


“By the way, what is Hitsugaya Taichou doing here? His injuries are healed. Is there a problem?”


“Hitsugaya Taichou…must come here to visit Hinamori Fuku-Taichou.” Said Rukia and looked down at the floor.


She was thinking of last night. What she saw was Hitsugaya’s hurtful face.


Fifth division Fuku-Taichou Hinamori was stabbed by Aizen. She was stabbed by a man whom she trusted with all her heart.


“The operation on Hinamori Fuku-Taichou went well. Her physical injuries should heal soon.”


Fourth division Taichou, Unohana Retsu was talking to Hitsugaya.


“Physical injuries…”


Subconsciously Hitsugaya brought his left thumb to his lips and bit his nail.


“Shiro-Chan!! Don’t bite your nails! It ruins your personality!”

That voice…

He heard that voice again.


“Damn it!”

Hitsugaya dropped his hand and clenched it hard.


“All I can do is heal her visible wounds. The rest is up to her will to live.”

From the look on her face, Hitsugaya could see how worried Unohana was. He disappeared into the dark hallway without saying a word to her.


Rukia met the youngest taichou at the stairs but all she could do was bow.

“Hitsugaya Taichou must suffer a lot.” said Hanatarou.


“Ah…” Rukia nodded before noticing a package in Hanatarou’s hands.


“What is it?”


“Yes? Oh this! er…this is..” He untied the package and handed what was in the package to Rukia.


“This..this is my backpack?” What Hanatarou handed her was her blue backpack. The one she had with her when she was captured.


“When Rukia-san was imprisoned in sixth division jail, Rukia-san told me that there were so many delicious foods in real world and that Rukia-san managed to bring some with you. So I went to the Technology Institution and asked for Rukia-san’s bag.”


“Great! I already gave up on it!”


The Technology Institution was considered the place that gathered all weird shinigamis. For some mentally weak shinigamis, the idea of going anywhere near the Institution was a mistake.


“Seems like the dress and shoes were thrown away. The only thing they kept was this bag. Well…not exactly kept it though…”


“Not exactly kept it?”


“Tsubokura-san from 12th division kept this bag. But it seems like he also kept taking the food in the bag bit by bit….” His voice kept getting lower and lower so Rukia opened the bag and smiled.


“This is the only thing left?” The only thing left in a bag was Shiradama Zenzai flour in a white paper bag.

“Yes, my apologies.”


“You don’t have to apologize; I never expected to get it back. Thank you so much, Hanatarou.”


“This is nothing. You don’t have to thank me.” Hanatarou laughed nervously after Rukia thanked him.


“This shiradama zenzai flour is the best flour from the ‘Houtei’ shop in the real world. If we have this we could make a delicious shiradama, you know?”


“Ah! Then I shall prepare some delicious red beans for you.”


“Really? Then I guess I could make shiradama zenzai then.”


“Wow, this will be fun!” Rukia then noticed a letter in Hanatarou’s hand. She asked “Hanatarou…that letter…?”


“Ah yes! My apologies! I completely forgot that Unohana-Taichou asked me to give this to Rukia-san!”

“My deepest apologies” said Hanatarou and bowed while handing Rukia the letter.


“Don’t worry about it” said Rukia before starting to read the letter. After a few minutes she turned to Hanatarou who looked worryingly at her.


“Seems like tomorrow morning Nii-Sama will transfer to a private room.”


Rukia’s brother, and the Sixth division captain, Kuchiki Byakuya was heavily injured during the battle and had been staying at the ICU ever since the incident with Aizen was over.

“This means the injuries are healed! This is good Rukia-San!”


“Yes...thanks” She nodded and looked away to the outside. The sun was starting to set. Orange rays that decorated the room slowly faded. The view at this moment was so beautiful. Anyone who witnessed this could have been rendered speechless at the beauty of Seireitei’s view.

Rukia and Hanatarou stared at that view for a moment until the sun had finally gone down.

“I should leave now” said Hanatarou and got up at the same time.

“Hanatarou?” Hanatarou stopped at the door and turned around to look at Rukia who still looking at the letter.


“Will..Nii-Sama eat Shiradama Zenzai?” whispered Rukia.


“Definitely!” Hanatarou eagerly nodded. “If Kuchiki-Taichou will eat it, then we must prepare for the finest red beans!”


Rukia looked at a smiling Hanatarou and sighed.

“…please take care of that.”


“Yes!” He bowed before leaving the room. Rukia folded the letter while trying to think of an excuse to say to Byakuya when she gives him the sweets.

I believe so, I remember reading something about sending votes through mails. The polls were included in the Bleach books, of hand I can't recall which volumes. But only the first 2 polls were included in the english volumes (English is only up to Vol.19, about 10 volume behind the Japanese ones!) Yeah, I actually don´t worry about her being dead, because there´s no Bleach without Rukia :mad:
Without her there´d be no IchiRuki dynamic and chemistry.
Ichigo would lose the woman who changed his life and as you said, Ileenka: he would never stop blaming himself, because he wanted to save her so desperately in the SS arc; all his determination, resolve and efforts would have been in vain. :eek:
Not to forget: Kubo would lose so much fans.
He´s not that....well dumb. :p

:) Chappy would be the most awesome weapon, one look and the opponent would just stand there, stunned, look how well it works on Ichigo :D Renji though seems kinda immune. I am thinking he's an animal lover ;)

Anyway, I wonder what Rukia's bankai would be like when she achieves it. Her three shinkai dances are awesome, I am guessing her bankai would be an elaboration of her shikais. It would so cool if she has the complicated offensive-defensive bankai like big brother and a costume change, all white with fake fur (we dont want animal rights group after our goddess! :D ) around the neck. I vote for no wings though.

^ I don't know how IchiRuki can't be canon, since Ichigo already has feelings for Rukia. Besides, him protecting Orihime now is his responsibility, and he vowed to protect her before, in Chapter 196.

I can't shrug off the feeling that the reason Ichigo is so bent on protecting her right now is because GJ told him that something is happening to her. Although it is just my speculation for now, I think a guilt complex is slowly building inside Ichigo because he hasn't shown to want to take her out of HM, as GJ noticed. Also, Ichigo would need her in healing Chad and Rukia later, so her safety is his priority. He's planning ahead to make use of her abilities in future, and I don't know why but, I'm kind of uncomfortable with the idea, because it can be quite cruel for Orihime (as much as I dislike her but still). x_x

I also think that Ichigo is so bent to protect Hime, because he felt Rukia´s and Chad´s reiatsu going down and was told by Ulquiorra that Rukia´s dead. Maybe he assumes that he´s the only standing, healthy fighter (besides Ishida and Renji of course), who could actually rescue Hime and make good for all their efforts the whole rescue team went through. And he feels the responsibility to already save her, because due to their rescue mission Rukia and Chad went down. (I don´t wanna think of Hime denying to leave HM in the end because of her plan to destroy the Hougyoku => how will Ichigo react? Rukia and Chad are nearly dead for Inoue´s sake...!!!)
But for me it´s intriguing and somewhat telling that Grimmjow said to him that his main goal is to fight and not to rescue Hime in HM (how can Grimmy be an IchiOri shipper???):eek:.

I´m very curious about what will happen after the fight is finished (chapter 283 sounds kinda boring already, if the spoiler´s true). ;)

Actually I more bothered with the idea of Ichigo - Orihime than Ichiruki not happening. Ichigo - Orihime is so boooring. And she so not helping him, kinda of reming of that qoute about the Black Sun (Ichigo) being drag down by the Rain (Orihime, remember she wants to be the rain qoute.) If that's the case I am dying for the White Moon to make her appearance!
The spoilers sound quite real for most part, the last half sounds kinda cool but I could do without the repetitive Ku-r
