to dreembreeze: Welcome :D
Something to talk about: (i don't know if this was talked about in the earlier posts...I'm actually too lazy to check)

Just want see/read everyone's view of Rukia, or what can you say about her being a:

1. A shinigami
2. As Byakuya's sister, or a member of the Kuchiki family
3. as renji's friend
4. as someone pivotal to Ichigo's life
5. as a subordinate/student (?) to Kaien
6. as a student (this is crack -_-)
7. as a sister to Yuzu and Karin :D
8. as herself

A character evaluation, perhaps? but because I love Rukia, I am biased
it's up to you wether you want to be serious or just post some crack to brighten everyone's days despite the lack of Rukia.

As for me, how I see her:
1. as a shinigami

She's hardworking, and I guess she really tried her best to be recognized as a worthy shinigami of the Gotei 13. And perhaps that also equates as being recognized by Byakuya.

2. As Byakuya's sister, or a member of the Kuchiki family
A shy one, and perhaps she's still uncomfortable. But still she's trying her best to be accepted, although it seems Byakuya is the one who is starting to close the gap between them *coughConfessioninthetwilightcough* ( a sweet thing indeed)

3. as renji's friend
Renji can count on her anytime. I'm sure of that. She consider Renji as her best friend (I think). On a factual note, she's the who coerced Renji to become a shinigami. And renji's past is a RenRuki ship, although I think Rukia only sees him as a dear friend.

4. as someone pivotal to Ichigo's life
No Rukia, no Bleach. She changed Ichigo's life. She's important to him. He's important to her. They're canon. No need to say more.

5. as a subordinate/student (?) to Kaien
A good follower, plus the hints of love and admiration (although some may argue about this). If Rukia gave meaning to Ichigo's life, then Kaien did the same to Rukia. Not only as a mentor, but also as an important person.


6. as a student (this is crack -_-)
She doesn't really care much about grades I guess. She likes learning about the human world, but I see her complaining about things she can't understand every now and then.

7. as a sister to Yuzu and Karin :D
She'll be a lovely sister! In fact, th two already sees her as one :D And perhaps she'll be a good housekeeper. In episode 141, somewhat a filler in between, when it showed she washed the dishes after eating. Rukia is already domesticated. She's ready for a living world...living. *urg*

8. As herself
I think Rukia is being 'herself' whenever she's with Ichigo, or Renji, or Kaien. As for her personality: she's strong (in words and in deeds), she's caring and ready to help her nakamas. But she's more than that.

On a side note: My thoughts are rambled and I can't make up what I really want to say, gomen. That's why it will be nice to see everyone's thought.

TRU FAX: While my replies sound kinda crack, they're all true. Rukia is the reason I watch Bleach, and read the manga. My bro's friend gave him the first 50 eps of Bleach saying I would love it - and the first thing I heard was Asterisk - Orange Range!! (first time I was listening to a song before I heard it in an anime, has since happened again) And I met Rukia and fell hard :love
Thought Ichigo was an ass at first, but at some point (during Memories in the Rain) I thought he looked cute and liked him and became an IchiRuki shipper!

1. A shinigami

I always thought Rukia was a kick-ass shinigami. She was smart and snarky and had awesome kidou skillz. I was sad that her powers took so long to return. When she used "Sode no Shirayuki" in the manga, I fangirled like whoa!! :inlove

2. As Byakuya's sister, or a member of the Kuchiki family

I love the Kuchiki!! He's shown briefly in the first OP and I was all shallow and waiting for this hawt guy, and then he was all badassery and I was like *YAY* I love Rukia as a little sister, 'cause she kinda adores her brother (Seaweed Captain). They have a lovely angsty relationship. Her being a noble just made her cuter, like a good girl gone bad.

3. as renji's friend

Rukia is totally a loyal pal. She looked out for him, and still stood by his side even when he started to leave her behind, until he pushed her off to the Kuchiki all "kthxbai". I'm not a big Renji fan.

4. as someone pivotal to Ichigo's life

bitch, please. :hm

5. as a subordinate/student (?) to Kaien

Also still awesome. She was adorable, so cute. I believe she truly loved Kaien, in a pure way. I don't think she felt romantically for him.

In the same way she adores Byakuya, she also loved Kaien (and Miyako), he was accessible, and he was strong, helping her get stronger.

6. as a student (this is crack -_-) (NO IT ISN'T!)

Since Rukia was always boasting about being awesome to Ichigo, I expected her to do well in school. (no srsly) I don't think they've called her a bad student in the manga, but a lot of people think so.

Rukia just seems like the kinda person that doesn't accept failure, even if something doesn't matter. I think being the "perfect student" would have been her goal.

When they showed her being put in a different class than the others in the Academy, I considered it a bitter injustice! :yell

I still expect her to be strong. Also, dude, she looks hawt in her school uniform. Rukia has awesome legs!

7. as a sister to Yuzu and Karin

Rukia is awesome to me, and the Kurosaki sisters seem to really like her. When she saved Ichigo, she saved them too. She's always looking out for them, and that's what good big sisters do. :hug

8. as herself

Cute, adorable, kick-ass. Yummy legs, eyes like Liz Taylor :love

Was thinking the other day that she'd have to go up against Haruhi-sama in the Saimoe finale. Dunno who I would pick - Haruhi-sama is my Goddess, but I also really loved Yuki (robot from the future!). But for Rukia there is no comparison!

If Rukia re-made the universe, there'd be chappies for all!!

The FC is a bit quite these days as we're all suffering from Rukia withdrawal, but feel free to participate - there r a few question memes floating around :D

[Orihime]

1. as a shinigami
Rukia takes her job seriously and does not hesistate to do what she is supposed to. She is *usually* respectful to those above her. Some notable exceptions include when she ran off to Ichigo when they were taking her to the Soul Society and when Orihime was captured.

2. As Byakuya's sister, or a member of the Kuchiki family
She is VERY respectful to Byakuya and also very shy. She does not like to bother him with things, and she admires his art. Being nobility doesn't seem to suit Rukia but she pulls it off anyway.

3. as renji's friend
Renji and Rukia are friends who can depend on one another. Sometimes, she may do stuff he isn't particularly fond of (such as calling him Mr. Funky Tatoo Eyebrows Man) but they're like brother and sister. (although Renji might like her more than that)

4. as someone pivotal to Ichigo's life
Ichigo and Rukia trust each other with their lives, with anything. (Hanatarou part) They can understand each other, and they are equals. Rukia may be weaker than Ichigo, but she's not going to show it. She will fight for Ichigo (and her other friends), and he will fight for her.

5. as a subordinate/student (?) to Kaien
I see Rukia's relationship with Kaien like the big brother Byakuya should have been. She may have had a bit of romantic feelings for him, but it was purely one-sided. (NO! Kaien does not cheat on his wife! And Rukia would not do that either!)

6. as a student (this is crack -_-)
LOL, she doesn't care about school. Ranked 320 0f 322? Come on, Rukia! She and Ichigo skipped school so much, you know. But Ichigo made his work up while Rukia probably went to bed. (That's why he was always complaining about "staying up all night.")

7. as a sister to Yuzu and Karin
She's a good big sister to them. I know she wouldn't neglect them like a certain main character does. The part where they asked if they could eat in Ichigo's room was so sweet! =D

8. as herself
Rukia's probably most like herself with Ichigo or Renji. (mostly Ichigo =p)

Well she kicks ass what more can i say she will already go down as the first shinigami to kill an espada x2.
She takes her shinigami duties very seriously and i admire her greatly for that.

She loves her ni-sama so much and admires him greatly- i remember reading the bleach omake Bleach at the Beach and laughed myself silly at their very similar art techniques *both made very adorable creatures out of the sand - the ones that Rukia draws all the time* and note underneath says Brother and atopted sister are very much alike :D


3.as renji's friend
I love their friendship so much
Rukia -"Fool!You shoud have used a chant since you suck at kiduo"
Renji-growls somthing incoherent under his breath :lmao
Rukia and Renji have been through alot together and their freindship goes way back and they will always stay very close friends
It's obvious that Renji loves Rukia but it's obvious tht she sees him as a brother:cry - he was in the same panel as Byakuya when she passed out :cry


4. as someone pivotal to Ichigo's life
Keeping all biased opinions aside well i'll try Its obvious that the relationship Ichigo and Rukia share is above the deepest,emotianal and romantic than any other relationship in bleach- they need one another it's pain stakingly obvious- look how misrable they were before they meet each other in Chapter 00A AND 00B- They seemed to lack life and energy we see when they are around each other- In short these two are very important to one another as people and to the influence thay have on one anothers lives its love

5.as a subordinate/student (?) to Kaien
Rukia greatly respected Kaien she felt comfertable in his presence- and they both learnt alot from one another

6.as a student (this is crack -_-)
Ha ha- Rukia is a great student *insert sarcasm here* :che- shes too busy with her duties to worry about studies- but is a GREAT art student :uhuh

7.as a sister to Yuzu and Karin
She loves these too and she's a good Sister in law to them- They both trust her to take care of them and their big bro and can see shes a good influence on him :love

8. as herself
She's most like herself as many people have said with renji and ichigo- she's most comfertable in their presence especially ichigo's

I was re-watching Renji’s flashback in episode 32, coz I want to see young Rukia again >.< I really like young Rukia’s smile – it’s mixed with joy and innocence that you cannot see in the present Rukia. I bet that’s the first time Rukia showed a sincere smile – no pretensions or facades – it’s a real smile. Not all child who grew up in a shitty place can give expressions like that. Young Rukia is human in nature – she knows how to enjoy things, even if everything around her is unpleasant.

I’m not a RenRuki fan, but I definitely see them as best of friends. Renji is one lucky man to share his youth with Rukia. That maybe is one of his major advantages over Ichigo >.< He knows what kind of person Rukia was when she was young. While I was watching the episode for the first time a long time ago, I already smelled a love triangle in the air. I can’t help thinking Renji might’ve fallen for her during his childhood days. But I want to think that he is contented being by her side as his friend (in a general perspective). Anyway, the pic above is one of the best in the anime. It was able to capture Rukia’s serenit and youthfulness. A girl who talks like a man still has her gentle and feminine side.

During her stay in the academy, it seems we didn’t get a glimpse of Rukia’s happy smile. She felt insecure about her root and incapability. She completely lost it when Byakuya adopted her @_@

Now for the next ship, KaiRuki :D Now who brought back Rukia’s smile? Of course it’s the perky Kaien-dono! Kaien gave her a place by his side, where she felt comfortable. It’s not a secret that Rukia liked being with Kaien, because being with him makes her smile more.

Rukia shows a trademark smile, that sometimes fake her true emotions. Still, it’s a refreshing thing that you can see on her face.

It’s a sincere smile – a sign of gratitude. Probably that’s the best thing she gave Ichigo prior to his departure to the living world. Maybe Rukia’s smile made the rain go away from Ichigo’s heart. In his mind, he was thankful to Rukia. Perhaps he really wanted to see her smile again. Thus, the rain stopped.

Yeah I remember seeing the flash back ep and noticing that Rukia never smiles like once she is grown up. I think only once or twice. That fun carefree playful smile. I think that is one of my favourite parts of ep 31 and is sort of a revelation since before that I don't think people knew her character was capable of that. I know I certainly didn't. I always wait for future chapters hoping they will show her smiling like that again. (Although I doubt that will be anytime soon :( )

I should have known that Rukia would be back when the school started to bug me. I'm in the library now ansd supposed to search for my graduation project but instead I found myself reading the entire chapter thread, IchiRuki FC and Rukia FC. Last time the plot moved, Rukia appeared was the middle of the final exams and I just couldn't help but read and defend Rukia in the chapter thread (you know, there are always people who will go 'OMG plotkai' whenever only Rukia does something).

And now it is again a bad time for me to spend hours in the fandom and look at what Kubo does. haha too bad, I'm actually sooo glad for what he did anyway. I just missed Rukia and the plot so much and I do enjoy reading Rukia haters' reaction in the threads. LoL, it's really funny to read their posts *evil*

Like it or not, Rukia always makes big appearances and returns. We have only 2 pages of the manga but those have Kenpachi, a released arrancar (even maybe an espada?). I know she does nothing other than lying on the floor in her blood but she will need a resolution soon, because there is a final blow directed to her, because Kenpachi showep up and not to mention, there are probably some other events in the chapter that we are yet to know about. Even the time for spoilers popping up is earlier this week. *is smug*

ugh.. I should just keep calm just in case the spoilers to be fake but even if they are not real, we deserved a moment of having the joy of her return. It's been such a long wait :yell :yell

yeah it is not that we say plot started to move with Rukia's appearence because we love her. I think it is quite the contrary: They don't accept that she tends to move the plot because they don't like her. Even the statistics confirm it. Spoilers came much earlier than the usual, the sale rates pf the Bleach tops. Everyone gets excited for the rest of the chapter, even if it's nort for Rukia but for Kenpachi or for the candidates in the possible rescue squad. People must be in denial to claim the opposite, but meh. Being somewhat evil, I enjoy those type of reactions, too. :D

Did you guys checked out the latest spoilers? Space translated the Rukia's page and according to her "Kempachi asking Rukia if she's about to die!" A few things run into my mind, did Rukia did an Ichigo and ventures into her inner world and Shirayuki turns out to be Zaraki? :eek: Is it possible that it's Zaraki that will rescue Rukia and is it to late to change the answer on my prediction poll so I could win the worthless plot of swamp land Beach front property :D I dont think anyone predicted Zaraki coming to her rescue! I love KT!

About the haters (I can even write the word 'Rukia' :love and 'haters' together) I agree for most part the best course of action is just to ignore them. I think for most part they its attention that they mostly crave and I'll be dang to give it to them :D

I suggest instead that everytime we post, we tack a little "Yay Rukia is Back:yay " or "Rukia is here, Bleach is saved!!:yay " or "Rukia is here Hello Halycon days :yay" or "Rukia's here now the plot can finally moves :yay " at the end. That should really get to them. Woah did I just turm 10 again :D I generally enjoy reading the haters messages especially at the end of the day it's them with eggs on their faces and it also show the serious lack of class on haters part. Anyway, Rukia's back yay!

@Syn, if I recalled correctly the last time the Bleach community gets this excited was also created from Rukia, during the Rukia-AA/Kaien mini arc the number of posts at the BA nearly double the normal rate although I think this particular appearance of Rukia is going to beat out the last one! I wonder when the ichiruki (or any rescue team reunion) is going to be, I could imagine the things really going to be moving at double the lightspeed rate at the ichiruki fc! :D

Yes I am glad you notice that particular drawing, it was from a drop chapter "When A HollowBoy loves Another Hollow Boy". Rukia decided to leave out the chapter after the adverse reaction of her two boys -- Ichigo freaked big time and then fainted, Renji staeted to shout "I LOVE GIRLS" at the top of his lung and attempted to glomp Rukia :D

I think I'm going to have some difficulty with the first character, since it's rather blurry. Is there any way you could make the pics clearer? Sometimes saving it as a different type of file will help - since JPG's are compressed, they tend to come out blurrier than, say, BMP's (if you're pasting into MS Paint).

last time she she passed out right? but did i see her image correctly in ch 297? her left eye was open? is she reserving her strength for a quick move or will she be saved?

Rukia is not death, I can guarantee you. In anime/manga, when characters in bad situations, they may loose the light in their eyes. But it doesn't mean that they're dead! That's just a technique that they're using to show the seriousness off the situation at that time ^^

Hiya! I'm a new member, and a relatively new Bleach fan, but in that short time, I have come to adore Rukia's character. I've got an affinity for tough, semi-tragic, and multi-faceted female heroines, and she definitely fits the bill. :D Oh yea, I'm also a sucker for slightly dysfunctional familial relationships, her semi-awkward sibling relationship with Byakuya is priceless. :cool:

Now, what drew me this board specifically are all the crack theories circulating around her, such as the theories of Gin's obsession with her (I demand a re-encounter, she owes him payback in spades :yell), her mysteriousness regarding her name, past, and coincidences that might or might not involve Urahara, and possibly Isshin. Plus, the whole "renegade/exiled princess from the Kingdom of Heaven" idea is pretty wild too. You guys are awesome for coming up with such fun and cracky things. :yay:

And I like pondering about crazy things too! So, I was looking over the discussion about why the walls and floor seem to be frosted over/covered in snow in the latest chapter of Bleach, and for some reason I think it happened after her battle with Aaroniero, and isn't a direct result of it. It doesn't seem that she used a move that would have rendered the area full of ice and snow when she killed him, unless Shirafune is a multi-part attack comprising of reforming her blade/stabbing and exploding someone with snow, (her wikipedia article now implies this) but I don’t get the impression that that’s what was pouring out of Novena Espada's body... (And if this is true, well, it’d make the attack seem so less cheap/lame to the doubters who are wondering how an Espada could die just from a simple stab.) There's also the matter of a smattering of snow on her that wasn’t there before, and the total lack of blood, and you'd also think that after being impaled in the gut, one would be bleeding ALOT) and the walls certainly didn't very snow-covered after she first collapsed way back in chapter 268/269...

(About those chapters, I was also a little curious about the disappearance of her cape, which was a bit of a shame, since I thought that thing was AWESOME, and I think she should adopt it as a permanent accessory to her Shinigami uniform; and the disappearance of the fragments of Nejibana that were impaling her, but that could be explained because of *snerk* Rufflecar dying, but then his body's still there (minus blobby mass of doom)? And when Arrancars release, don't their zanpakutos usually disappear? :confused:)

Err, right, back on track, about the snow and how it could have gradually started forming after she collapsed, well... What if it isn't Sode no Shirayuki that produces the snow/ice, but her herself? Well, on the surface we know that it's a kidou-type sword, used by channeling her reitsu in it to make something happen (just like Momo's). But then, there's the instance in which she grips Nejibana while it's impaling her, and ice starts forming at the point where her hand makes contact with it. She hadn't even begun to start calling her third dance yet, so I'm surmising that the freezing isn't a direct effect of her sword, but her. While it could likely that her sword, when broken, yet still in its released state gave her that ability, I'm not quite sure about it.

And if I am right, that this "winterizing" of Hueco Mundo occurred afterwards, then how? Her sword reverted to its released state, still broken (I thought it was established in Ichigo’s first fight with Ikkaku, that when a Shinigami lost consciousness, their weapon would revert to its unbroken and unreleased state), and the last time I checked, Shinigami can’t use their special sword abilities unless their zanpakuto’s been released.

So, the only conclusions I can come up with are, I’m a nut that likes to make something out of nothing, Kubo’s being inconsistent, or there’s something really weird going on with Rukia and her powers. (Which isn’t anything new for her at all, nothing is ever as simple as it seems when it comes to her.)

There’s also one more anomaly, but it’s minor. When she froze Grimmjow’s arm and legs in place before using Hakuren to rescue Ichigo, it seems that the initial freezing attack came out of nowhere, and we don’t even know if she made a command to cause it in the first place, and it didn’t seem very Tsukishiro-ish. It makes it seem a bit like a Hitsugaya move in that regard, but in smaller scale…

I’m sure when the whole Rukia vs. Aaroniero scene is animated, things will become much, much clearer. *eagerly awaits it*

And now that she’s back in the manga, I can’t wait to see what happens to her next, although she’d be pretty much a wreck after what she’s just gone through.

I also noticed that some of Rukia's shinigami sleeve was frozen with ice. Just the part touching the ground though. So, it really can't be the aftermath of the battle. It's like the place is a freezer. Hahaha! XD But my crack theory is, Shirayuki's responsible for freezing the place. Remember when Zangetsu acted on its own trying to stop Ichigo from bleeding? (Ichi Vs. Zaraki fight) So I'm kinda thinking, maybe Shirayuki materialize and is preventing her from totally dying by freezing the atmosphere.

Rukia fell unconscious after the battle. I'm sorta thinking, if it was her, then she need some kind of presence of mind to emit or call forth the power of snow. But then, I'm also wondering... could her powers be manifesting even if she is unconscious and without Shirayuki?

Right now, I'm leaning on 'Shirayuki froze the place' theory. :p
~Also remember that Zabimaru materialized itself and woke Renji up in SS.
~Zangetsu trying to stop Ichigo's wound while fighting Zaraki is not something Ichigo asked.
~So, maybe, Shirayuki is acting on its own too? Afterall, if Rukia dies, 'it' (i dunno if Shirayuki is a he/she/it) dies as well.

But, BUT! I also like your idea! Maybe Rukia is conscious all along, or half-conscious. Else, her power manifests on its own... which is also... Sode No Shirayuki. :p

With the return of Rukia Bleach manga got more interesting I am not a fan of Espada Bleach honeymoon with Espada was short-lived and sweet while it lasted . But now the character that got me interested in Bleach in first place has returned …..Leaving shojo rarely you come across a well rounded character like Rukia . Here is hoping for more chapter time for our heroine also with return of Captain(S) Bleach has gotten better …

We need more of SS and Rukia to save us from this mediocre and mechanical arc
