Rules:

1) If you do not like a pairing DO NOT post in that pairing FC. If you read the fan club and want to discuss something that was said then sort it out via PM or elsewhere, do NOT go into that fan club and start a war. Anyone posting in a pairing fan club that isn't a fan will almost automatically receive a ban.

2) Try not to discuss other pairings unless it is absolutely necessary.

3) You can discuss other pairings but when others discuss your pairing negatively and you don't like it sort it out through pm, if you break the above rule to start a flame war it's an instant ban.

4) Neg reps to rival pairing FC posts over such things won't be tolerated. I consider this being in an FC of a pairing you don't like therefore breaking a rule. You will be temporarily banned.

5) I'd suggest just totally not reading the FC of the pairing you don't like but I know that is never going to happen. You all want to be able to talk about other pairings so much well fine but just be prepared for others to do it about your favorite pairing also.

6) Many members of both the IchixHime and IchixRuki FC's have decided that all such anti/offensive sigs and ava’s will be removed and will not be used here anymore. If an anti/offensive sig is made in the future it will be removed and if you are a repeat offender then you will be warned or banned. This includes text also.

Ichigo and Orihime first met at the age of 12. Orihime's older brother, Sora, died in the Kurosaki clinic from injuries acquired in a car accident. Ichigo watched as Orihime cried for her brother, although he did not find out that the crying girl he saw was Orihime until they entered high school.

I think the movie's more about all of Rukia's nakama and the various relationships with her and stuff than IchiRuki. Even if it's fillers, I have no issues with the movie as long as there's no purposeful kissing. :noworry Between any of the parties, not just Ichigo and Rukia. :hm

I rather enjoy seeing everybody in the books I read hanging out with their friends lately~ I get excited when Renji hangs out with Izuru or Hisagi, or when Orihime hangs out with Tatsuki, for example. I think because they're generally really happy when they're with their friends and you get to see everyone relaxed and having fun than the way they usually are--stressed out and worrying if their nakama are going to be okay.

I agree, Mira. Rather then looking at all the drama romance can bring along, I love watching the Bleach characters hang out with one another. I hope (and fully expect) the movie to emphasize Rukia and her relationships with everybody, Ichigo, Renji, and Orihime being at the top of the list (Byakuya too, lol).

I totally recommend it! It's beautiful! One of the best I've seen so far....

I normally am not a huge fan of AMVs (there's just a lot of so-so ones to sift through to find a good one), but I really liked that one. It used all the moments in context to highlight what's been going on recently. It's like a mini-version of what there is to like about this ship.

Alright, since we don't have any discussion going on now, how about we help Lady O out and come up with varying ideas for this FC's banner, and for potential future banners.

I vote, since this is our 18th FC, you should include something about "being of age" or anything that pertains to turning 18 (which would be a whopping big 2 things I can think of that you can legally buy: smokes and porn :rotflmao: OH! And I can't forget that we Americans can go die for out country. Yaaay. XD)

Or maybe you could do a banner like this:

At 16: getting a car
At 18: (LOL you can decide which to insert ;))
At 21: drinking (with Matsumoto and the rest)
At 25: you can rent cars for travel
and so on, all the while inserting hilarious pics of Ichigo and Orihime looking confused or like wtf?

Of course...my ideas always involve lots of moving pictures. D:

ichiruki shippers in particular make a deal of it, but now that i see it in ichihime.. i still dont understand it at all..

They made a big deal of it because of the SOUL and VIBES books, on which Ichigo and Rukia are shown with the poem, "The rain drags black sun down, but the rain is dried by white moon [Rukia]" (or something close)

And a lot of IchiRuki shippers adamantly denied that Orihime had been referenced to the sun in the manga (despite that Ulquiorra's words in her capture were PRETTY CLEAR, but I guess his words aren't good enough when it comes to anything Orihime :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: ...unless you're an UlquiHime shipper...then it somehow works in his favor...), and then, Aizen made a reference to it AGAIN to Orihime being the sun, and proved to the shippers who originally refused to "buy into" the statement that they were wrong as hell. (Of course, when that happened, the ones who had been denying it conveniently stayed silent on the matter or refused to acknowledge the fact that they'd been wrong, lol)

And Ichigo's been referenced heavily to the moon in Bleach (just look up the names of his attacks), so it's like Ichigo and Orihime in the [I]manga, ie: canon material, are the Sun and Moon.

Of course, there's been stuff about Szayel being referenced to the sun and Nnoitra the moon (and they, they worked together to bring down Neliel, LOL, guess they're canon too! :cookie), so the whole theme of "sun and moon" isn't special for any pairing. It's still a nice theme to go by, though. ^_^

But that's sort of where Lady O's part of the first page on that subject originates from.

Ah, the vast range of symbols applied to multiple characters, how I love thee.

Plus, there's the concept of the black sun, that in order to be created (as the sun turns black in a solar eclipse), it essentially eats the white moon. The moon disappears into a shadow when it passes between the earth and sun. In that light, using Ichigo and Rukia as the black sun and white moon makes sense since Ichigo steals Rukia's powers and becomes a shinigami, while she's left on earth in a gigai, unable to fulfill her duty as a shinigami. But I don't see why it means that they're going to fall in love and make babies.

And yeah, Bleach symbolism is laughable because Kubo doesn't seem to care for sticking to any particular symbol for one character. There's the suns (Orihime, Szayel), the moons, (Byakuya, Ichigo, Nnoitra) the star (Renji), black & white/yin & yang that's been overdone a billion times (Shinigami vs Arrancar, Ichigo vs H!Ichigo, Ichigo and Rukia in SS, Ichigo and Orihime in HM, etc), eagles (Arrancar Fraccion, Eagle Without Wings [Ichigo], Winged Eagles [Ichigo, Chad, Ishida]), and a ton of others that I would know by now if I cared to know more about the symbolism surrounding other characters. :p

it's just kind of funny how making connections, even if they are silly and totally pointless, can upset some fans

bt personally, making connections/symbols are fun, but i prefer to just take the pairing as it is. Lookign for hidden meanings, or pushing it to be fated has always weakened the pair in my mind:crazy

Don't forget colours as well, Kubo likes using contrasting colours in his manga as well. Black/White, Black/Red, Black/Blue.

You know if I didn't take this shipping as just some fun I'd be very upset with Kubo just now. Always changing his symbols and mixing them up. How dare he! :yell

Ichigo's Mum was mentioned like a sun as well, everyone circled around her. I think Orihime's quite similar and she's not quite there yet but I'm sure it will be soon.

I mean this isn't just a subtle symbol about the sun going down, it's like BAM! I'm not using any shipper goggles, don't need them for this symbol.

Regarding the Black Sun, Kubo was probably listening to Primal Fear when he was drawing Ichigo for the Souls/Vibes and decided to use their album title "Black Sun" for him:

Not the first time Kubo's been influenced by Primal Fear. He even named chapter 282 after Primal Fear. XD

As for symbolism, volume 35 pretty much shows that Kubo didn't make symbols exclusive to just one person. It used to be that people would talk about Rukia being special (and pair worthy) since she's associated with the Moon. (They forget the Byakuya is also associated with the moon). Then Kubo titled volume 35, "Higher than the Moon" and you realize he means Nnoitora. After all, Nnoitora is chock full of Moon symbolism. One of the posters, Ryin, shared Nnoitora being inspired by a samurai who is associated with the moon.

Just goes to show that Kubo really just has a moon fetish, as well as a bird fetish, and you can add sun fetish and flower festish as well as yin/yang fetish. Kubo has used 4 fetishes on Ichigo since he's been associated with the Black Sun, the Black Moon (Black Moon Rising chapter 162), an Eagle (Eagle Without Wings chapter 238) as well as Yin/Yang (Ichigo vs Ishida, Ichigo vs Byakuya, Ichigo vs HIchigo, Ichigo vs Espada, etc). If symbols really indicate pairing then Ichigo and Nnoitora (Black Sun and "White" Moon -hey he's an Espada in white) are perfect for each other. XDDDDD

I remember ocne in the AiHime FC i "determined' with my super-awesome shipper logic that Aizen was the moon, and it upset some fans
LOL, Aizen isn't the moon, he's a flower! Remember "Flower on the Precipice" chapter 100 and volume 12 title? It's a flower growing at the edge of a cliff. It's the volume where Aizen was murdered and nailed to the tower. He's the flower on the edge of the cliff. That's why he's drawn to Orihime and called her the sun. Flowers are always drawn to the sun. :D

i don't understand why manga has to be serialized over here, why isnt it subbed in all appropriate languages by the same people who make the original volumes at the same time and then send it out. the time lag for these things is unbearable. I'm not sure if i'll even still be into manga 3 years from now. :rawr
