Thanks for the welcome, McDoogle! :D LOL, I was just reading, from Viz media's version of Bleach volume 1, this hilarious scene where Tatsuki was telling Orihime that she should have "pushed Ichigo into the shadows and jumped on him" back when he offered to walk her home after nearly being hit by a car. I died laughing...I only ever read those early chapters from fan scanlations, and I just can't at all remember reading that scene! For sure, it was left out of the anime, which is so retarded. So much great early stuff from the manga was left out of the early anime, and Ichigo just comes off so differently to me in these graphic novels. He's still super cool, and everything, maybe just seems more protective of his friends and not so naive (naif).

Which reminds me of the upcoming anime episodes he'll be in. He's such a good "big brother" to Nel-chan. He's so great...:glomp

Thanks for the fan art everybody. I have been low on Ichigo love recently. Aparently the girls in Bleach are more popular than the guys.

Since Soul Society Arc Ichigo has shown tremendous growth not only in batttle but also emotionally. Where do you think was the turning point for this growth?

While I know Ichigo has miles to go he is made of good stuff and it shows through. Recently he has been a victim of circumtansces and his own failure to fully grasp his powers. Do you think that Ichigo's inability to control his massive reaitsu is due to his recent emotional distress and can this be tracked to his mother?

In my opinion I think Ichigo will overcome huge roadblocks after he confronts his mother death and his father lie. It will take tons of strenght to overcome them but I believe Ichigo has been proven resilient.

Poor Ichi, he seems abandoned here!! Since I'm in a ranting mood today...

In ep. 161, I have to say that our dear Ichi looked mighty fine!!!:inlove The animation team did a great job with all his expressions and it was pure awesomeness! I hope that they continue to do this since we will be seeing a lot of Ichigo in the episodes to come!!!

My dear e-sister in law is right! The girls do seem to be pwning the guys in Bleach lately. I blame the manga! Ichigo hasn't really done much and now, with the last chapter, having Inoue protect Yachiru and making him stand back I was like dang, Ichigo is really just sitting there huh?

But somehow I think this is a good thing. Ichigo tends to think he's the one that needs to carry the weight of the world in his shoulders and, although he loves them and all, he doesn't seem to be able to trust his friends powers enough to let them handle the situation. Maybe seeing Inoue stand on her own will make him realize that it's ok to delegate sometimes...

But not too much...we need to see him in action again...with that confident smirk and not that :eek: face of his!! We want badass!Ichigo back!!!:yell

What trait you believe describes Ichigo the best and why?

I feel that that what defines him is that he is a protector. Yes, initially his only desire was to protect his family, but there was a side to him that protected those spirits that were in trouble as well. He didn't know it at that time, and felt he only wished to protect those he cared about. But as he realized his powers, and his ability to help others, his concern began to be visible for even those he had just met, and sometimes even for those who did not deserve the compassion. He wishes to protect his friends, and everyone he meets.

Yes, 161 was really a wonderful Ichigo episode. So many emotions emitted on his face, and his VA did a wonderful job in reacting to them. I hope to see him back in form soon in the manga as well. But then again, the poor guy does need a break lol. He has fought so many battles with such determination. I feel his time to shine is soon at hand

I think his first priority will be Karakura town. There are thousands of people's lives that are in immediate danger, and esp. including his family and friends, who are the most important people in Ichigo's life. You can already see his reaction when Aizen breaks the news. Even if he is told that the situation is under control, I doubt that will be enough to ease Ichigo into not having the town's safety as his number one priority. He may go to save Inoue if he is told the captain are taking care of the situation, and of course Ichigo can't go there anyways, being that the are trapped in HM, but in the end, they will go back immediately to the situation on hand.

^ Unofficial welcome, and yes, this poor boy needs more love. For a good-looking, not-annoying, kind, badass, heroic, and fairly powerful shonen hero, I always feel he doesn't get anywhere near the affection he deserves.

It may have to do with the fact that he's spent the last 50 or so chapters being an Arrancar punching bag, but one only needs to revisit Soul Society to see him in his full glory, swooping in to the rescue just in the nick of time, and stunning everyone with his amazing new abilities. <3 I can't wait to see that Ichigo again.

Well, I know I completely adore the manga version of Bleach and, thusly, prefer it to the anime. There's just something about Bleach manga that completely amazes me like nothing else, even compared to the same story in anime form...

All of the recent ep with Ichigo starting with the one where he lost against Ulqui have animated him perfectly and beautifully. I think I'm going to forgive the animators for going into fillers. The fanservice just is beautiful.

AGP: Ah, I forgot. But it is a record that may go to summer, or so I think. And I do miss the Ichi who was kicking ass in the first season. I missed the time when he was cocky.... I couldn't stop watching ep 17 over and over again a year ago.

Cathy, I think its just Kubo puts ALOT into his artwork, and alot of attention goes into each detail. That is why its just such a wonderful treat to see. And when we see something we really like, we can't wait to see it on the anime. I think sometimes thats the main reason I watch it now because you can see more visually the different actions. But again, with time constraint and such, its harder for animators to really go as in depth as Kubo unless the scene really calls for it.

AGP, I'm always watching the first episodes of Bleach lol. I don't know, but I have always loved the episodes before the SS arc the most.

Actually seing Ichigo like this has made me love him more. It reminds me that Ichigo is really a sixteen year old boy with a heck of a lot of power. I can more easily forgive him because his problems go deep.

But may ask you guys. Why are you a fan of Ichigo. What is it about him that makes him your favorite character? Is he your favorite character in Bleach or just one of them? Is he your absolute favorite character or just the favorite in this series?

He is my absolute favorite of all time! And I have loved some anime characters but never have I ever been inclined to buy key chains, figures, pillows, tees, specially made shoes and shirts with his image. Buying and downloading the manga . and collecting literally thousands of images...of mostly Ichigo (Rukia too, but now I added others)

Besides him being hot. I like his rude, brash ways. He's aloof yet caring. He appears dense to some. But I think he just doesn't always apply common sense and he's acts before he thinks. He's also funny as hell and I like his faces.

But more than that. He is a kickass character. He gave powers to not one but two of his friends and his spirit power is affecting the other three. NO CHARACTER IN THE BLEACHERVERSE EVER DID THAT. His weapon is kickass. The avatars is Kickass. His Hollow is kickass <--IMO Ichigo makes the Hollow and not the other way around. I love his Bankai. His cocky attitude, His chestier cat grin and the shit he talks. I love the loyalty he has for his nakama and his bond with Rukia. But make no mistake. I may be a shipper but

I am Ichigo's fangirl no one else's. I read and watch Bleach because of Ichigo and I find the whole story intriguing. I watch and read 10-16 hours (I have insomnia and I don't sleep much) Of anime and manga. But nothing compares to Bleach. There are better ones. But I will never love any or any character more. I may mention other anime or on a Bleach forum. But ...If it's not a Bleach site, Bleach discussions...I don't bother. I am glad I found this place. Ichigo rules:love

i was on the plot twist thread and posted this...

Id like to see a twist where theres another vizard but whos also a perfect hybrid like ichigo, and here they explain how ichigos hollow came about and how it makes them unique vizards, and they would say by birth or before there power was awakened. But of course this extra person cant defeat azien without putting the whole of HM as risk because while he may be another perfect hybrid, his hollow is part of his zapaktou and bankai or even shikai would be too dangerous. And the more that they fight, the more he begins to lose control and sence of enemy. Ichigo must become as strong as this person but must master his hollow, and dominate his innerworld, the one thing this other could do.

He pulled out bankai for a pile of Hollows a few eps back, and then when he ran into a far superior opponent, the ninja dude, he didn't think of pulling out bankai for a moment. At least he wised up and bankai'ed immediately the next time he ran into the ninja dude (sorry, can't be bothered to remember filler villains' names).

He suffered with his mother's death, so he stopped showing his emotions so easily (or maybe all of them). But still, I don't think he's emotionless... He just doesn't feel comfortable by showing his emotions so directly as others. But he's not the only one: there are many on their group who don't share their feelings so directly.

I love Ulquiora too, but unfortunately he must succumb. It is Kubo's duty to bring Ichigo back since he is the one that keeps this whole story going. Without Ichigo there would be no Bleach.

Ichigo must win. It is in Kubo's best interest to bring back his main character and make Japan love him enough to put him back at N. 1 in the next pop poll.

In response to LUV's questions; Logically Ichigo would not win at the moment since Ulqi stronger than him right now even with his extended Mask time. I'd say that Ichigo and Ulqi would be almost even in the beginning of the fight with Ichigo being the weaker one at the start. But in the end we all know he'll get somekinda power-up and I for one am hoping for Vaizard Release level of sorts. However, I would rather it be that Ichigo for once in his fighting life gets Help form his friends to defeat Ulquiorra, and that way it wouldn't be so Plotkaiish if he won.

hmm maybe, but the chance are low considering he did master his hollowfication quite well (like we've seen in his fight with Grimmjaww)

and IMO we don't have to worry about Ichi will kill Ulquiorra because : Ichigo never kills something that look like human before (he didn't kill Dordoni, he didn't even kill Grimmjaww...) so I think when he win against Ukelala he'll spare the 4th Espada's life (and maybe persuade him to change side...)

I'm so happy that Kubo's been drawing Ichigo's face a bit softer/dorkier recently. He was looking more and more like a 21-year-old instead of a 16-year-old in the HM arc up til now. I like his gentle faces as much as I like the passion/fire/badassery of his fight faces. :)

1) Ichigo's colors: Shades that flatter that wild orange hair - brown, pine green, maroon, earthier colors. He can pull off strange/bright colors too. He dresses way too cool for a high school kid.

2) I liked nerd!Ichigo in the library colorspread. Those glasses made him hot. I sure as heck couldn't study coolly next to him in a library; I'd be too busy trying not to swoon.

3) Animal: He's a dog. Loyal to the death, can't take no for an answer, will do what he thinks is right even if you don't agree, and can be trusted to protect anything he finds important, and perhaps over-protect at times (like barking at the postman, LOL).

4) Favorite Ichigo quote: "I see you, Kuchiki Byakuya!" Every time I re-watch Ep 41, that line sends shivers down my spine.

5) Present: Shakespeare's collected works. He can probably read the one-volume edition that doesn't have annotations now since he's a big enough Shakespeare freak. :)

Well I agree with some people before me, any color looks good on him. I personally love the organic colors that Kubo draws his clothing with. I love the sage greens and ochres and maroons. The cover of the book "painting with bleach" where Ichigo is wearing this striped pants with a beige shirt with a medieval lion on and a green jacket and still wielding his zampaku-to is really, really hot. I love him dressed with those colors. Black seems to bring his hair and eyes out more.
2. your favorite Ichigo colorspread?
I love Ichigo in the spread where he is with the "guys" (Renji,Kenpachi,Byakuya,etc...)
why?
Well :heehee he has a very sexy look on his eyes and he is showing his manly, muscular chest (what else could I possibly want)

There are many cool quote's "I came to save you...Rukia"
Everything that he said to Byakuya while he was battleling him for Rukia's honor. The famous "YO", which is a classic. I like the goofy, silly words he says when he is mad, fighting or bickering "OI!" "Owarida, Renji...!" "Nanda yo..." etc... But my favorite quote would be "... you know why big brothers are born first?...to protect the little ones who come after them!!!" That phrase just shows what a wonderful brother, family guy he is and how much of a nice, beautiful person he has always been.

5. what will you give him as his birthday gift?
I will give him some chocolates (with strawberry liquor in them :D), and possibly a hug (I am not made of stone people :hmph), I will give him a nice big picture of RUKIA, framed, so he can put her on his night table and a collection of the best quotes from Shakespeare (so he can ask for Rukia's hand with class, and with the author he admires :lmao

I actually he is pretty versatile when it comes to the color of his clothing. Dark colors reallymake him standout, and I he can bring a shape to jackets/sweater instead of looking square.

:XD I have lots! I liked the most recent one in Six Hearts Will Beat as One.Um... I also really like the one with him, Oirhime, Rukia, and Chad and the colors are pretty dark and they're turning back and looking at something. There was alsothis one of him where he had his shirt off and was in bandages with a whole bunch of swords behind him.
