I'm SJ. I LOVE Bleach, and atm it's my favorite manga (close to Fruits Basket and Death Note). My favorite character is Orihime, and if you haven't already noticed I ship her with Ulquiorra :p I don't get why so many people hate on her. She's such a cool and wonderful character (sure, jokes about her breast size get annoying, but I can always just skip those parts).
I first heard of Bleach many, many years ago (or so it seems), from a friend who loved manga and anime. She only brought it up once and never mentioned it again.
A few years later, I saw my friend reading the first volume at lunch. I asked her if it was good, but she didn't even look up as she eagerly nodded. She said it was completely amazing. I read a couple pages over her shoulder and it looked pretty good. I asked if I could borrow it and she said no.
The next night I was at the bookstore with my mom. She called me over to the graphic novels section, knowing how much I liked those. I found the manga section close by and suddenly saw the first volume. I picked it up and asked my mom if I could get it. She said sure, but was a little confused (it was her first time really looking through manga). So I bought it, and finished it twenty minutes later.
I thought it was good. Not amazing, but good. For a while I read Bleach a little carelessly, only getting up to the fourth volume before I lost interest.
Then my friend Maddie came raving to me about how wonderful Bleach was. We talked for a while about it, and she said I should definately give it a second try, directing me to various places I could read it online.
Over the last three days I have been reading it nonstop. I'm only at chapter 216 right now, but I'm probably going to get caught up really, really soon.
...and wow, that was a wordy post. But, anyways, hi! I really hope I like this place. Being obsessed with Bleach is no fun when you can't talk about it with other people :(
