Then they'll reward him and if we're lucky, we might even see his shikai and know which squad is he from. And Surprise! Surprise! He might be from the 13th squad for all we know! Then he and Rukia wil have lots of opportunity!! :fangirl

But then again, don't you find it weird that if Ashi is a real filler character, they would have shown his shikai during his first appearance, just like Maki Ichinose who is pure filler during the Bount Arc.

I like Ashido because he's exactly like all the dark heros in novels. Dark, antsy, emo, protective, strong, mysterious, and he's uber hot.

As for why I like him w/ Rukia? Even though those fillers were only a couple shows long, they seemed to bond emotionally pretty fast in those couple of hours that they knew each other.

I think Ashido didn't take Rukia that seriously after he found her almost crispy fried by a cero, and especially after he tested her sword skills. But he really looked at her for the first time when she said she was going to go w/ him to find Ichigo.

I have to mention the whole carting of Rukia off under his arms. It's so cave man tatic, and I really want to write the scene in a fiction. It's so ripe for smut. LOL Especially when he's been so sexually repressed for centuries!

Anyways, after the whole emotional back ground story, his persona was complete and we find he's loyal to boot. Then after he told Rukia to go home, and she refused because of the need to save a dear friend. You could see he melted inside. They really connected in that one scene.

His panic and his sacrifice when Rukia almost got killed was the ultimate shipper moment. My heart throbbed when you didn't know if he died or not and how his mask broke.

The next scene where he stood back and allowed Rukia to fight instead was a wonderful moment as well. Most of the men in Rukia's life, they rarely take her skills that seriously and do all the fighting. But he trusted her skills, and let her fight that battle.

Afterwards, when Rukia suggested he leave HM was filled w/ a tender understanding between them. I don't know why, but the whole Rukia healing his thigh was sexy to me for some reason. And I have a scene of that in my head for a fiction as well. More smut! LOL I think you can tell what I write now. LOL

It was heart wrenching near the end where he decided not to follow her, and she screamed for him. Those few shows were like an entire love story, except there was no happy ending. And me must have happy endings!

Not to mention, Ashido is all man and is mature. He's got the whole male dominating thing down to a T. Tall, dark, handsome, and a personality that rocks. What's not to love?

I think I would have to disagree w/ the whole Rukia sees Ashido like Kaien. I don't find any similarities there.

Kaien was her mentor, brother, and friend. How he died would always remain a traumatic event in Rukia's mind, especially considering he died by her hand.

Ashido, on the other hand, is in self exile for his supposed sins in his team getting wiped out. So in that case there is some similarities between Rukia and Ashido. The guilt they both carry in getting a comrade killed is a heavy burden to carry. Not to mention, Rukia's whole poing of the HM arc is to save a friend. Ashido, himself would do anything for his friends as well.

So comparing Ashido and Kaien in my eyes is not a correct. They are completely different in personality, and how they affected Rukia's outlook are completely different as well.

AshiRuki to me is a paring that gives me a mysterious vibe and though Ashido appeared only in the anime, both Rukia and Ashido formed a bond so quickly, it just amazes me how much they developed only in a few episodes <3 I love the parts when Rukia promised to get Ashido back :3
