Bleach 324: The Claws

Continues from the last chapter, a headless body of Arivama fell on the floor. Kira sealed back his zanpakutou and said, “Farewell, a sky warrior. And I don’t want you to forgive me.”

A scene cut to Shuuhei who was looking exhausted. Findor taunted him if that’s all a lieutenant could do. Shuuhei hit back if Findor wanted to say he is not strong as of a lieutenant level.

“Exacta! As I expected from a lieutenant! If I’m not mistaken then that’s exactly what I mean!”

“Don’t call me lieutenant! I told you my name is Hisagi Shuuhei.” Then Findor mockingly apologized to Hisagi for being rude (since only Hisagi has introduced himself) then introduced himself as Barrrangan’s fraccion, Findor Garious. The he said the release command, “Crave the water’s surface.” His released form still looked like human only his right part is covered by shield. His right arm has turned in a big crab’s claw as tall him while the left arm looked the same as the right one except only smaller. Findor called it PinsaGuda while Shuuhei just calmly looking at him and said, “So this is Arrancar’s resurreccion (the release).” Findor complimented that Shuuhei has done some research.

“If you think only you arrancars has done some research on us then you’re mistaken.” Said Shuuhei.

“I never think so.” Smile Findor.

Then Findor disappeared so did Shuuhei, that same moment where Shuuhei was standing was cut into two pieces. Findor complimented him for be able to follow sonido’s speed. So Shuuhei snapped back at him for keep saying ‘exacta’.

“To live is a never-ending hard work. Only those with most correct answers will survive. So no matter who is it would have wanted to gain most correct answers, isn’t that so?”

“So you’d be the one who give the correct answer?” Then Shuuhei used his left hand to pick out the ornamental chain from his right arm and threw it to Findor. It exploded and he used the moment Firdor still confused to use Hadou #62 Heapporunkan and so many small lighted-pipes attacked Findor and locked him against the wall. While Shuuhei was coming to finish him off, Findor pointed his right claw and the stream of water came out. Shuuhei managed to dodge but he then saw how it actually able to cut the steel tank. Shuuhei was stunt but then Findor used this chance to attack more. Just when Shuuhei is about to get hit, he released his shikai,

“Harvest, Kazeshini.”

A note: A kidou Shuuhei used in this chapter is the one he used in the Diamond Dust Rebellion movie (he used it against Histsugaya). The one that people used to argued it was his shikai.

-His shikai is too hard to describe but it is a double weapons that connected by the chain.

Looking at Kazeshini more closely the two sickles are connected by two chains.

Don´t need to go more far. We already saw a captain with a kusarigama, even if it only have a sickle. Think in Mayuri and in his ear in SS arc (Wiki info). You might be correct. That´s exactly how I see his release based in the info we have. Well, let´s wait and see.

Both their releases sounds interesting. Findor's 'sword style of rejection' reminds me of Chinese wuxia novels :D

And Hisagi's shikai has the 'wind' theme, tying him closer to Kensei. Out of all the VC's at the pillars, he is the one I expected most not to die.

Despite the predictable outcome, this looks like a longer fight. Hopefully it's an interesting one.

Most of the translations I've read have Yama saying they're the only two zanpakuto to exist in a pair. Nothing specific like sword. Mayhaps you could provide the translation you use.

Hisagi's shikai sounds so cool! :noes ...It reminds me more of a nunchuck (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nunchaku) sort of weapon because of the connecting chain. But instead of sticks, he has dual sickles. Personally, I don't think it's similar to Shunsui and Ukitake's 2 swords. Yes, Ukitake's shikai release are connected to each other also, but Shunsui's isn't. You can check it here (http://www.onemanga.com/Bleach/156/15/). Yamamoto said on ch156 that Shunsui and Ukitake are the only ones with dual soul cutters. Soul cutters are usually in sword form. Shunsui and Ukitake's shikai releases still retained their sword-like appearance. Hisagi's shikai release, like what Raf said, doesn't anymore.

Question: Does the manga mention that anyone who wish to become a vice-captain have to showcase their shikai release(s) before being promoted? I know shinigamis who want to be captain has to show their ban kai, but does a vice-captain has to show their shikai? Can't recall if it was mention in the manga :headscratch

Ah, how neat, Hisagi's release! ... you know, with the whole sickle and wind imagery that the name and appearance give, it kind of reminds me of a wind-element youkai in Japan named "Kamaitachi" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamaitachi). It's definitely plausible for its manifestation at any rate, maybe. :D

Alright I have to say this chapter seems like it will be very good this is the battle of the 4 dragons I have wanted to see the most. I thought findor would be like a horse a insect is a bit diffrent and if findors ability is Rejection that would be so cool if he could reject attacks that is what I'm hoping for.

It's the captain's choice as said in the TBtP arc. Pretty sure nothing is required.

Phantom of the Opera!!!! Actually, if we're going by the architect theme, that would actually make sense. In the novels, Erik (aka the Phantom) was an architect in Persia.

There is no way in hell that Hisagi will lose this fight! Unless we discover that Yumichika, Kira and Ikkaku all lost offscreen (thus making the whole Shinigami group losing. How? Avirama's Hierro > Wabisuke; Rosa Blanca having a HUGE delay... yeah, no!), Hisagi will win.

I mean... Kira would obviously not lose because he already lost his previous fight (against Matsumoto). Yumichika would probably not lose because he still had to show/explain the real ability of his Shikai. And Hisagi is a 2HIT COMBO: he lost his previous fight (against Yumichika) and has a Shikai waiting to be explored. Not to mention his enemy is still a Fodder... I mean, Fracción.
So, just asume Hisagi will win anyway and let's hope it will happen in a interesting way and not a "hey, look! My ability just happens to be exactly what is needed to counter yours! Man, what are the chances, huh? :D"

In Pantip, someone posted a image of a crab. I am guessing the summary says Findor's release remembers one (*_* <3), so maybe its name is a refference to the big chela of the crabs. And, well, in spanish, chela is "pinza".
I wonder if there is a specific name for the "big chela" that fits the "pinzagu-da" kana ("Pinza ???").

Continues from the last chapter, a headless body of Arivama fell on the floor. Kira sealed back his zanpakutou and said, “Farewell, a sky warrior. And I don’t want you to forgive me.”

A scene cut to Shuuhei who was looking exhausted. Findor taunted him if that’s all a lieutenant could do. Shuuhei hit back if Findor wanted to say he is not strong as of a lieutenant level.

“Exacta! As I expected from a lieutenant! If I’m not mistaken then that’s exactly what I mean!”

“Don’t call me lieutenant! I told you my name is Hisagi Shuuhei.” Then Findor mockingly apologized to Hisagi for being rude (since only Hisagi has introduced himself) then introduced himself as Barrrangan’s fraccion, Findor Garious. The he said the release command, “Crave the water’s surface.” His released form still looked like human only his right part is covered by shield. His right arm has turned in a big crab’s claw as tall him while the left arm looked the same as the right one except only smaller. Findor called it PinsaGuda while Shuuhei just calmly looking at him and said, “So this is Arrancar’s resurreccion (the release).” Findor complimented that Shuuhei has done some research.

“If you think only you arrancars has done some research on us then you’re mistaken.” Said Shuuhei.

“I never think so.” Smile Findor.

Then Findor disappeared so did Shuuhei, that same moment where Shuuhei was standing was cut into two pieces. Findor complimented him for be able to follow sonido’s speed. So Shuuhei snapped back at him for keep saying ‘exacta’.

“To live is a never-ending hard work. Only those with most correct answers will survive. So no matter who is it would have wanted to gain most correct answers, isn’t that so?”

“So you’d be the one who give the correct answer?” Then Shuuhei used his left hand to pick out the ornamental chain from his right arm and threw it to Findor. It exploded and he used the moment Firdor still confused to use Hadou #62 Heapporunkan and so many small lighted-pipes attacked Findor and locked him against the wall. While Shuuhei was coming to finish him off, Findor pointed his right claw and the stream of water came out. Shuuhei managed to dodge but he then saw how it actually able to cut the steel tank. Shuuhei was stunt but then Findor used this chance to attack more. Just when Shuuhei is about to get hit, he released his shikai,

“Harvest, Kazeshini.”

A note: A kidou Shuuhei used in this chapter is the one he used in the Diamond Dust Rebellion movie (he used it against Histsugaya). The one that people used to argued it was his shikai.

I am amazed to see the Shinigami actually using Kidou in fights. Until now, only the Kuchiki house seemed to remember Kidou in the middle of a fight. But then, in two chapters, we already got Kira and Hisagi doing the same. That is great.

And Findor is really a crab \*_*/ I hope he gets more "animal visual traits" than Nnoitra did with Santa Teresa.

Yeah, but "gordo" (fat) is something that is abnormaly big. If you think as a japanese man that doesn't know spanish that much, it wouldn't be weird to use "gordo" with that meaning, y'know?
But since Findor got both claws, the name doesn't have to reffer to the big one anymore.

Pinza Aguda seems better, though, but I still don't know, since the kana doesn't allow an A aside from the one stuck with the S/Z.

So they moved that kidou into canon. That's good to see him doing a pretty decent move like that without a chant (at least he didn't use in the move according to the Japanese wiki). Plus, it's nice to see more kidou since there can be a lot of different things that could be done with it, and with the main cast, the only one to really use it is Rukia.

It seems like Hisagi and Kira are both "All around types" and tend to use kidous to cover for weaknesses that their Zanpakutou have.

Until I see Hisagi's release, I can't say for sure, but I imagine by the sound of it the weapon will be like the Vigorian Flail from Ninja Gaiden 2.

Basically, a nunchuck with small scythes on the ends. It's a single-handed weapon though, even though I expected his to be more Kido-type than physical.

Ukitake and Shunsui have twin zanpakuto, not dual ones.

That's important. Even their releases hint at duality. Furthermore, they are 2 seperate weapons (in ukitake's case, they are tied together with a ribbon, but the ribbon itself is not part of the weapon, it's a decoration like rukia's ribbon).

Shuuhei's might have 2 bladed ends, but that doesn't make it a twin zanpakuto. Is Yumichika's a quad zanpakuto? Is Hitsugaya's a twin? It has a chain and a bladed weapon on the other end as well.

The difference being is that shunsui's and ukitake's zanpakuto are two distinct weapons.

Over all, I loved the look of this chapter -- lots of progress in both the smaller VC battles as well as character development. Hisagi's got some wicked moves, and I love the arm cuffs that explode as well as provide a fashion statement. Bravo! :D

P.S. This looks like an Ukitake-type shikai. Two swords out of one. Nifty.

P.P.S. I know it's probably just me, and it's half past midnight where I am, but that last pose of Hisagi's with a "Scion" weapon in each hand with the dangling chain really reminds me of Nnoitora. Maybe I need sleep. :/

I'm curious to see what Hisagi's zanpakuto's abilities are. I noticed that like Kensei's zanpakuto is has "kaze" in the name, so it may have a wind ability. Although Tachikaze isn't exactly wind based...it was a nice connection between the past and present ninth squad members! :)

I had no idea what to expect from Findor's release, so the crab form was rather cool as well.

As to the chapter, probably my favorite out of all the stall-battles to date. It was refreshing to see a shinigami actually struggling against his opponent, intsead of overwhelming them right off the bat with nonsensical ability. If that turns out to be the case, then the ants vs. dragons fights had best come to an end by the next chapter.

For all those in doubt about Kira finishing off Redder, that first slide affirms his 'badassery' :cool: That was cold, and very ruthless with his 'I hope you don't forgive me' I am even more impressed by Kira Izuru!!

It's awesome seeing new kidou and bakudou spells, especially high powered ones like the one Hisagi used, level-62 not bad!! And his shikai is awesome. Now I'm sure most of our mouths are watering at what the next chapter unfolds to us, about his real power! We've been in the dark about Hisagi Shuuhei's abilities for a while now but this chapter just gave us a sneak peak at what he really has to offer.

Interesting weapons, I was expecting something like what BlackStar uses in Soul Eater, but I'm glad that it's a variation on the Kusari-gama. It's a pretty sick weapon, though it does look a little oversized imo, but then again this is Bleach we are talking about, most stuff in this manga is oversized.

Also I cant believe that I actually care and like Kira now, I mean he was cool in this chapter and the last, he's a lot different when he isn't thinking too much about his friends. I don't know if we have seen a decapitation yet in Bleach.

Yeah, that sentence reminded me of Zommari as well. Honestly, it the same as when the Arrancar's were hollows all they want is to survive and live on. I bet its one of the reasons they follow Aizen to be freed from the neverending struggle of the dog-eats-dog world they live in......So I suppose this is just a battle of survival for the Arrancars and maybe even something more than just that.

Well anyway this was a fantastic chapter and like it was said earlier it's nice to see someone break a sweat once in awhile whilst fighting. Anyway Findor's Release was quite awesome. I was actually expecting something kinda ugly when I read about the Crab release earlier but it was quite awesome when I saw it a couple minutes ago:D.

And Kira he was f*cken cool being all "Farewell Sky Warrior.....I Pray that you dont forgive me.......":cool::noes. Trust TK to get philosophical :p but it's very insightful, these fights and the verbal exchanges between the Ants and Dragons. I reckon that Ikkaku's could be about pride or inner strength, those traits are a part of him.

This was the first Arrancar Release I really liked. Cool Shuihei I liked his dual Zankapakuto's. I can't wait to see him serve this lobster. I hope KT takes a little time with this one since Hisagi never gets to shine. I wouldn't mind if he went a four or five chapters. As long as he doesn't pull a Szayel...Four a five chapters and glimpse of Ichigo would be ok.

The chapter was okay. It wasn't bad, per se, but it felt empty. Insincere.

Findor's "exam" quirk was generic and random. The fight didn't present anything exciting or surprising. There wasn't much story, but the chapter was paced well (thank God). All in all, it was just "meh".

Also, as cool as Kazeshini looks, I was annoyed at how it beat Pinsaguda so easily. If it were done tactically like Kira's, that's one thing, but it looked like Shuuhei just blasted the water away. I'm hoping it's not because of some convenient Pokemon logic or something.

My favorite part was in the beginning. Kira standing over his opponent's decapitated body, hoping that he wouldn't be forgiven, was chilling.

(Also, I really liked the art this week. It was very cleanly done, even during the exchanges, which was nice. I don't get why that happened THIS week, though. :p)

Exactly !:D It's like he merged all three. The Shikai hasthree sections like the stick instead of two. That's how he surprised Ichigo. Because he was he wasn't used to three sections.

Ikkku's Bankai still has three sections even if he uses two to fight with. It looks Like giant Axes. but the design of the sections he holds and the end is shaped more like the spear/axe Master Killer's holding posted above.

At first I thought that, maybe, Kenpachi's zanpakutou couldn't purify the souls or Nnoitra and Tesra were still alive. But there is no way in hell Avirama is alive and Wabisuke has nothing strange to justify something killed by it to not be purified.

Or maybe Grand Fisher and Zommari are the ones who weren't killed o_O
I mean, think about it, Grand Fisher had a "double" body when he was a Hollow. And Zommari... is weird!

I dunno. I think the "vaporise" thing just depends on the circumstances. I mean all Arrancar when released sorta vaporise in a way back to their original form, I guess some just chose to die instantly or have no actual choice. (Which in Bleach land is very dubious, given Zommari screams before doing it whilst Nnoitra and Tesla both hit the floor silent...)

Besides the whole 'vaporizing' thing, one thing that has bothered me for a long time is how the Gates of Hell never appear anymore. (Remember the dead-parrot episode?) I thought the bad ones will be dragged to hell but up till now, I've yet to see one arrancar or fraccion or menos or any other hollow since that episode to suffer the same fate. Even Grand Fisher wasn't dragged to hell after Isshin killed him. Hmm ...
