Recommend a games console

Ok well i have some cash and have decided to buy a games console. The thing is i really don't know which one. I mean i still am student and don't want to go overboard for example the PS3. So appart form that what console would you recommend me and why.

Atmo i have a PS2 and a GBA.

My brother has a PSP which i mena he might be a little picky about but am sure i can use it though i dunno if i should have my own. Especially now since the novilty of having ones worn off.

I'd say Pick the console ahving the most attrctive games to you.

So it depends on what games you like.


Also if you're expecting to use it to play when alone or with others.


Such as one of my friends have 3-4 DS so it's possible to play Multi player there and 2 Wii's making for 8 player linked ^^

Well if you don't want to spend too much money I'd say go for a Wii. Otherwise you can save up some more for a PS3. ^_^

so far, games on 360 have really been great !! XD ... and i recommend a PSP. i have one, and i must say that watching movies and playing games , makes traveling less boring for me.

i didnt see any good Wii games beside Wii sports, and Pangya, but the way you play the Wii is fun and you get some workout at the same time :p lol

as for PS3, almost all the games of playStation come out on Xbox, so i never really considered buying one. :|

Well I have a wii and ps3. I'd recommend a PS3 first because of the games, and free online gameplay. But since you don't want to get that I'd go for the wii, since its a very fun system, and the gameplay is outstanding.

I haven't decided yet for a next Gen console, but i think i'll pick a PS3, but only because i'm waiting for MGS4. The Price of the Wii is attractive, but lacks game and i don't like the XBOX series either.

Thanks. I want a PS3 but my Dads been hinting he might get us one for a while i think hes waiting for Xmas or something because there will be more choice of games and i am really picky with games >.<

With Wii it think its a bit new atmo and theres no games that really stun me but i think soon there maybe some, there are a few but not that many. I really love the idea of gameplay on it though.

PSP there are a few games i like on it but i can steal my bro's.

DS there are a few games as well that i like out on the DS.

Xbox 360 not sure on this console yet because i have never played on an xbox even thought my brothers got one xD it never struck me as interesting but since i heared playstation games are going on it might be better.

well the Bleach: The Shattered Blade for the wii, will be releasing 10/9/07 the english version, you might remember the japanese version released around the time of the wii release. So thats a really fun game to look forward to.

The Wii's overrated, imho. I'd go for xbox360, if you already have a PS2 and a GBA. Although a Nintendo DS might be worth getting...perhaps.

Xbox 360 is pretty similar to the PS2 with the range of games on it...although there are as many RPG's that can stand up to the Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts franchise. I'd get an Xbox 360 if you plan on playing more FPS or whatnot.

Part of me so agrees with Rain. ROFLMAO. Those games were just so good. Maybe not as high on the graphics as current games, but man were they fun.

PSP would be fun for the mobile part and just the shear number of things you can do with. Similar to the Xbox and PS3 but a lot less $$$ and mobile ftw.

PS3 and Xbox are pretty much the same console wise, just depends which you prefer for whatever reason, games, price, fanboyism.

Wii is really fun, but it is mostly for a party environment. Not something for long term game playing either, especially if you play for hundreds of hours like me. lol. I dont' want to be there swinging my hands in the air like a crazy person for THAT long. Plus I don't think I could. rofl.

After the Super Nintendo i'd go with the X-box 360 just because of the sheer number of games it has unlike the PS3.

Get a Wii! It's the perfect way to be able to hit somebody on purpose while playing. Then you can just blame it on the Wii and be forgiven without anyone knowing the difference. XD But seriously the fun factor is huge and everyone from all ages can play it. Also fun to get to play things like Harry Potter and just have fun using the Wii-mote as the wand and shouting "Wingardium Leviosa!" I can't wait until Wii gets a Star Wars game 'cause using the Wii-mote as a lightsaber will be all shades of awesome!

Wait for the PS3 if you're dad is going to get it for you :p , but I prefer an Xbox 360 over a Ps3 atm. It has more of a selection of games(naturally, since it's been out longer) and the upcoming games releasing for it are woooow :D. A Wii is a great option as well, it's really fun to play and quite addicting :3, It has some games that look pretty good coming out, so keep an eye on the Wii. Steal your brother's PSP, that's what my little brother does to me xD He left his PSP somewhere and someone took it o_o , some store in another town.. jeez. The DS looks awesome and I looove alot of the Nintendo games, so that's a great option right there. Here's what I say:
1) DS or Wii 2) Xbox 360 3) PS3 or PSP In the order of how they'll benefit you by game selection, price, and avaliability. =]

I think i am going for the DS because the Wii atmo over here with games is slow and the range isn't that good yet. DS has toones of games out. My bro has a PSP and he doesn't use it that oftern so i'll steal his for the games i want and he can steal my DS. Xbox has never struck me tbh the whole live thing and stuff puts me off i know there are offline games but online games seem 100 x better and i cannot be bothered with the fee if i aint going to play it that oftern and only when decent games come out.Plus if my Dads gunna get me he PS3 there no point me thinking about that yet really. Hmmmm. If you are a serious gamer, get a PSP. If you love partying and short-term playing, get the Wii.

All I can say is my DS is my best friend <3 It has all the games I like and alot of new and fun games come out for it often :> (Castlevania tomorroowwwww *A*) though I must honestly say I haven't had the chance to try out a PS3 yet.... though Wii is fun I dunno it doesn't have enough games for me and Xbox I just never liked even though the graphics are nice. It also doesn't get games/series I like at all... (well FF now, but I would rather buy a PS3 for that lol)

Consoles are still very stylized in the types of games they bring in. They're starting to cross over and become more multi-faceted, but for the most part this setup is as true now as it was years ago:

If you like:

Racing or Sports games: PS3 and XBOX 360 are equal in the release of these.

Japanese RPGs- Sony and its PS3 are still kings of this section. 360 is starting to catch on to the popularity of this genre, but of all their exclusive games only "Tales of Vesperia" (which was wonderful) and "Lost Odyssey" (which was okay) haven't been terrible.

Shooters and American RPGs: Here's where the 360 shines. They pretty much have the market cornered when it comes to First-person shooters and American RPGs. Third person is more even, as PS3 has the MASTERPIECE that is MGS4, but by and large 360 is your best bet.

Party games, mascot games, general light fun games: If you're more a casual gamer, or like gimicks and random fun, then the Wii was made with you in mind.

Survival Horror: 360 and PS3 are more or less equal here as well.
