Bakuman

[Flying Banana]

Bakuman is pretty much the new Death Note, yes created by Tsugumi, Ohba (creator of DN)
it's about a normal boy named Mashiro Moritaki who has skills of a great artist. When he was in elemntary school he wanted to become a mangaka when he grew up, but after his uncle, a famous mangaka, died, he gave up on his dream thinking the same would probably happen to him.
one day a classmate (Tagaki Akito) of Taki finds his notebook that has a drawing of the girl he's in love with afterclass (he left it there on accident)
he finds his drawings pretty good and decides to start a manga with Taki.
he didnt agree with it at first until he found out the girl of his dreams is a voice seiyu also, and she said she'd love to make a manga with them
(Taki also kinda confessed to her straight forward saying "After we accomplish our goals, will you marry me?!" she ran away but she did say yes, only after they finish their goals :noes)

Another not so typical Shonen Manga like their last Project, but it seems to be interesting and innovative. It's not as bombastic as DN's Chapter1 was but let's see how it evolves.

too many "romance" series have just getting the girl and guy to know how each other feels as the end of the series or soemthing

here, they actually have to create and hold a relationship

It's an interesting series with a new goal to achieve, I was already hooked when I read the 1st chapter, so i think it'll go for 150-200 or so.

I'm kind of hoping that the manga series gets cancelled.. In the manga that is so we can hear an angry rant on the manga industry, it's something I wouldn't mind see happening.

one arc will be getting into a magazine, another arc will be gettinging into "jum" and the final arc, surpassing OP and naruto and bleach for the top spots...and in the manga of course:lmao

Hmm, well I did like this pair's work on Death Note. :cookie Since you all seem to write such stunning reviews on it, I think I shall try it. (I don't know how I missed seeing it though, since I stalk the OneManga updates list...I guess I misread it as "Bakugan" probably?)

EDIT: I love it. xD Masahiro's pretty funny, and that jabbing at Death Note is pretty win right now, although I suspect it'll get old later. :wha I think I like Akito the best. P:

Somebody has to tell me what's up with Tama's objection to the name Shujin if they know. I don't know if it's the same thing and the people who did the chapter just chose to leave out the other u for the sake of simplicity, but I named my Wizard on the game Sword of the New World "Shuujin" before I ever read this and I'm wondering if it was a bad idea. :-_- I meant it with the reading of "a self-disciplined god" ("Shuu" from Shuuhei Hisagi's name. "Jin" comes from a character in Kamichama Karin Chu! but it's an alternate reading of "kami") but if there's something unlucky about the name I might change it...

I think it's sorta funny that Mashi's uncle thought G-Pens were hard to use. I never had any trouble with mine...maybe it's the way you hold them or something. (I had a brief stage around 6th grade where I said, "I'm going to be a mangaka!" so I bought pens and ink with the intention of doing so. This was before I realized all the work that goes into it, and how hard it is to get published in the first place. I still have the pens though because I really love using pens with Ye Olde Tips like that. *also counts the Varsity pen and her Waterman whatever, so can't really say nib pens*)

Their fangirling over stuff like "Ashita no Joe" was really cute, IMO. :wtf

Does "Lake Toya" seriously count as a sword? xD I guess so, even if it's bamboo and mail-order.

There are a lot of idol voice-actors, I guess, but I never really thought about it since all of my favorites are in their 30's. >____> Both Japanese AND English.

Taka made me laugh, freaking out over DNA. I enjoy him lots. (Does this mean I'm a "serious girl"? xD) I also liked when he interrupted Mashi's yelling, "I swear I'm going to make this dream come true!" with, "You mean we. :learn"

Azuki's mom is really cute. x3 She's my new favorite. =D I always liked Mashi's uncle, too. He's also pretty cute. They would have made a nice couple, I think. ("Masculine Fantasy" was a pitiful little story, but it made me want to hug him because I thought it was adorable at the same time, that he should choose such a way to say it)

Taka-san, of course he's not content! :rolleyes: An artist is almost never content with their work; one of my favorite manga artists used to say that if you got content with the way it looked, your art and story would go downhill from there. Maybe a little of a hyperbole, but yeah~

I'm betting the fifteen year old mangaka will be introduced in the future as someone like Akira Toya for our two "heroes". Not sure why I get that image though. It's cool to see how into it Mashiro is getting. literally missing out on sleep drawing.
