and making rukia hold against soi fon while ichigo is going to talk to the princess seem like one of the worst plans ever. at least they didnt sent her to 'hold off' yamamoto...

Having not seen the episode, i wonder even with Ichigo's bankai, Soi fon has superior fighting skills and experience, i think it'd be an interesting fight.

Ichigo's shikai isn't meant for that type of combat. She released her shikai, so he should have released his bankai. It's only fair in a rock-paper-scissors type of thing like that.

Plus, his vizard power will give him the speed and raw power needed to trump anything Soifon's bankai may have. :S

i dont think its smart to draw your mask in the middle of genocidal SS (i am not sure that the rest of the captains know about ichigo mask, i mean that i dont think byakuya went and tell about it since he do owe ichigo something. and beside from him and rukia (ichigo friend and byakuya sister) i dont think any shinigami said anything about ichigo power)

I believe that Ichigo can take on most captains in the Gotei 13 down, but due to the story aren't Ichigo able to use all of his powers.

I agree. Not only that, were he to go all out and defeat Soifon, that would only cause more problems. By resorting to violence to push her out of the way to pursue the other two, the Gotei 13 would have a more than legitimate reason to track down and restrain him. It avoids more conflict this way if he was to hold back and not mean to fight her, which it basically was.

The boxing gloves were quite amusing. Oomaeda has got a high pain tolerance.

Again, Ichigo gets beat around by another captain. Ichigo has got to be 10x stronger than SoiFon yet he gets his ass handed to him. Why can't we just see a fight where Ichigo say "I don't want to fight with you but you make the move" and actually see Ichigo hold his ground. Aginst strong opponent. THis is why bleach is so repetative and boring now.

The power comparison just don't make sense at all. Ichigo beats Espada #6 barely, beats Zaraki barely, yet ichigo couldn't do shibbers against espeda #5. And I don't want these long explanation of well Zaraki wasn't really bla bla aginst IChigo. I have read and seen all the posts on this. Bottom line Ichigo is too week. Nuff said. Boring fight aginst Soifon.

This episode was ok. Was a nice balance of everything. A bit of plot, a bit of fighting and a bit of set up. It just seemed to lack that impact that makes these kind of episodes stand out.

Ichigo could've easily bankai'd Soi Fon's butt, but nooooo....fillers really mess up the whole power comparison.

I really think this episode is mostly set up towards Amagai encountering Ichigo and deciding that his cause is just and so on.

Kira also finally decides to tell his captain that there could be a traitor in their ranks. Hasn't he learned anything from Gin's treachery?

Enryu's released state was interesting. I'd always assumed that he didn't have a zanpakuto since he didn't (or couldn't) speak. Now, I think it's probably that he's voluntarily mute and that he jumped so high up so that no one would hear him break his vow of silence.

OMFG!!! I love the Ichigo VS Soi Fong parts. Soi Fong totally beat Ichigo up with Hakuda. I hope he learns the other aspects of being a shinigami - kidou and hakuda. He's already a sword and shunpo expert, so he might as well learn the others so his powers could reach its peak (like Aizen). Imagine, he could fight Aizen better (added to being a Vizard).
