This idea came up when i was thinking about working with video editing softwares, such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe After Effects for possibly my future career.
As the title says, it's a friendly contest that includes you to create an AMV (short for Anime Music Video), using Bleach anime footage, then upload it in a hosting website (Megaupload, Rapidshare for examples) and apply it for the contest. In alternative source, you can try Youtube.com if any of the other aforementioned hosting sources or others you have tried are not working for you, keep in mind judging the quality and other aspects from your work are always important, streaming hosts won't help much in that point.
You can use whatever you want in your AMV, as long it's about Bleach and it's from the anime, therefor no manga allowed.
Since this is a friendly contest, with no other purpous than grant you fun while doing your creation, there will be of course a result ranking to determinate the winner, as for the reward i haven't thought of anything, but getting reps and have a winning reputation is quite satisfactory.
As for the AMV judging, factors such as synchro between the video scenes transitions and the music, Coercion between the song lyrics and what the video scenes express, and other aspects (which i will probably mention later) will be important when evaluating the AMV for the ranking results.
There will be factors that will raise your AMV value and others that might drop it.
- Raise the value -
-Syncro between scenes and music transitions (drums are a good example).
-A fitting music for the kind of footage you are dealing with.
-Coercion between what the footage scenes express and the music lyrics/rhythm.
-A correct use of transition effects that render the AMV prettier and neater.
-A Correct use of Lip Syncro if used in the video.
- Drop the value -
-Subtitles.
-Use of effects that just ruin the video overall or turn it ugly that would be better if they weren't there.
-A lack of syncro between the footage and the music or use of long scenes can turn the AMV too simple and boring to watch.
As you can see, there are only a few points that can drop the AMV value, as long you run out from those, you won't have to worry about losing points, just try to perfect the good points and you'll do great. ;)
If you already created a Bleach AMV before and you don't have time/patience/dedication to create a new one, you can apply one of those if you want.
There will be a 2-way scoring system, one from a specified judge(s) and the other by Voting system, i'll add up a poll once there are enough members and they have all applied their AMV, then people will be in the right to vote for their favourite, to avoid a popularity contest in any possible case, the judge note will have an higher influence than the voting numbers.
In a side note, i do pretend to participate in this contest, if by chance someone is interested to act as the judge when evaluating the AMV's, just ask for it, as for the judging methods i will be telling those soon.
ANYONE is absolutely welcome, just say that you want to participate, i will be adding to the list and wait to get enough people so i can advance with the contest rules and other content.
