I know, I'm a big 'The Fray' and 'Switchfoot' fanatic...

My fave The Fray song:

"Over My Head (Cable Car)"

I never knew
I never knew that everything was falling through
That everyone I knew was waiting on a cue
To turn and run when all I needed was the truth
But that's how it's got to be
It's coming down to nothing more than apathy
I'd rather run the other way than stay and see
The smoke and who's still standing when it clears

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

Let's rearrange
I wish you were a stranger I could disengage
Just say that we agree and then never change
Soften a bit until we all just get along
But that's disregard
Find another friend and you discard
As you lose the argument in a cable car
Hanging above as the canyon comes between

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

And suddenly I become a part of your past
I'm becoming the part that don't last
I'm losing you and its effortless
Without a sound we lose sight of the ground
In the throw around
Never thought that you wanted to bring it down
I won't let it go down till we torch it ourselves

And everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

Everyone knows
She's on your mind
Everyone knows I'm in over my head
I'm in over my head
I'm over my...

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

Favorite Switchfoot song:

Hello, good morning, how ya do?
What makes your rising sun so new?
I could use a fresh beginning too
All of my regrets are nothing new

So this is the way
that I say that I need You
This is the way
This is the way

That I'm learning to breathe
I'm learning to crawl
I'm finding that You and
You alone can break my fall
I'm living again, awake and alive
I'm dying to breathe in these abundant skies

Hello, good morning, how ya been?
Yesterday left my head kicked in
I never thought I could fall like that
Never knew that I could hurt this bad

I'm learning to breathe
I'm learning to crawl
I'm finding that You and
You alone can break my fall
I'm living again, awake and alive
I'm dying to breathe in these abundant skies

So this is the way
that I say that I need You
This is the way
That I say I love You
This is the way
That I say I'm Yours
This is the way
This is the way

Both are really good bands. I'd have to say "Cablecar" for The Fray as well. For Switchfoot..."On Fire".

Switchfoot
On Fire
Tell you where you need to go
Tell you who you need to be
Tell you what you need to know
Tell you when you’ll need to leave

But everything inside you knows
Says more than what you’ve heard
So much more than empty conversations
Filled with empty words

And you’re on fire
When he’s near you
You’re on fire
When he speaks
You’re on fire
Burning at these mysteries

Give me one more time around
Give me one more chance to see
Give me everything you are
Give me one more chance to be... (near you)

Cause everything inside looks like
Everything I hate
You are the hope I have for change
You are the only chance I’ll take

When I’m on fire
When you’re near me
I’m on fire
When you speak
And I’m on fire
Burning at these mysteries
These mysteries...

I’m standing on the edge of me (x3)
I’m standing on the edge

And I’m on fire
When you’re near you
I’m on fire
When you speak
(yea) I’m on fire
Burning at these mysteries...

Switchfoot's a Christian band. Since I'm Catholic, I'm loving the message of their songs. :D

Truthfully, i'm not a religious person by any means, but i've always loved switchfoot, I love meant to live, Dare you to move, but my favorite above all else is This is your life.

I love them because they have a powerful sound, and their message while evident is subtle enough that it doesnt irritate a non-believer like myself.

Switchfoot's a Christian band. Since I'm Catholic, I'm loving the message of their songs. :D

Actually, Switchfoot has at numerous times expressed their reluctance to be labeled a "Christian" band. However, the band members are definitely all Christians and as a result, their lyrics reflect their beliefs. Here are some examples of what Jon and Tim Foreman have to say about this:

"I've always been a little bit leery of putting "Christian" as a tagline for anything. If you're going to attach the name of Christ onto something, then you'd better have thought about it for a long time and really feel like that particular product, whether it's a CD or a church or whatever, is worthy of that name." - Jon Foreman

"Music is what I do. Christ is why I do it." - Jon Foreman

"We're christian by faith, not by genre." - Tim Foreman

I like Switchfoot's music and my sister is a huge, huge fan of them. Since we're both Christians, we interpret their songs in a Christian way. I have to admit that I haven't heard all of their songs, but my favorites so far are: This Is Your Life, We Are One Tonight, Golden, Dare You To Move, Gone and Oh! Gravity.

Have you heard any songs by a band called Kutless (http://www.kutless.com/)? They are a Christian band and their amazing song Promise of a Lifetime is one of my all time favorite songs, both because of the music and what the lyrics say. During hard times, this song has helped and encouraged me by reminding me of the irrevocable promise God has given to us.

Promise of a Lifetime

I have fallen to my knees
As I sing a lullaby of pain
I’m feeling broken in my melody
As I sing to help the tears go away
Then I remember the pledge you made to me

I know you’re always there
To hear my every prayer inside
I’m clinging to the promise of a lifetime
I hear the words you say
To never walk away from me and leave behind
the promise of a lifetime

Will you help me fall apart
Pick me up, take me in your arms
Find my way back from the storm
And you show me how to grow
Through the change
I still remember the pledge you made to me

I know you’re always there
To hear my every prayer inside
I’m clinging to the promise of a lifetime
I hear the words you say
To never walk away from me and leave behind
the promise of a lifetime

I am holding on to the hope I have inside
With you I will stay through every day
Putting my understanding aside
And I am comforted

To know you’re always there
To hear my every prayer inside
I’m clinging to the promise of a lifetime
I hear the words you say
To never walk away from me and leave behind
the promise of a lifetime

I know you’re always there
To hear my every prayer inside
I’m clinging to the promise of a lifetime
Looking back at me
I know that you can see my heart is open to
The Promise of a lifetime
