So Amagai's partner is a villain, meaning SS will think Amagai's a traitor, and then Amagai will prove them wrong later on and die when the filler ends. What a thick unpredictable plot this is...

Excellent episode. Looks like the studio decided to dwell on Ichigo's childhood past again, but it's nice to see his mother's appearance.

I thought Kuzuryuu was killed by Ishida, but he turns up alive only to be killed by Kibune. So he's really in league with that old wily fox. Is Amagai actually ignorant of his subordinate's betrayal or he's going to pull an Aizen on us? Currently he seems to look innocent though.

Are you fucking kidding me. This is the worst filler plot I have ever seen. It just seems so random that the dude with the girl glasses is actually working for the old guy. wtf is this shit.

At least its action packed though, i like that. And I didn't originally think they would have Ichigo go hollow for the fillers. It was nice that they did.

GG on the action but bad job on the plot.

thnx for the upload link, smacharia8 and v1nx,

let's see if this episode brings something interesting.

Update: just checked the episode out. not bad. the animation was rather good quality at least in my opinion. nice to c how everything is coming together slowly. that third seat revelation was nice at the end and we got to c Vichigo ever so briefly. all in all not bad for a filler.

I think the Kifune thing was pretty obvious with his treatment to Kira.

He embodies the anime standard of the-weak-must-die jerk.

Amagai looks well intended, though I suspect his second sword is actually a Bakutou.

Good point...maybe he's like a rogue ninja or something like that...

Here I thought we were getting to the end of the fillers, totally forgot about weird glasses dude. I'm sure Kira will be the one to kick his ass, not sure who Ichigo will fight next though.

PROTIP: The fillers are going to last for about as long as the bount arc, because the anime and manga have caught up to each other. I expect at least another 30 filler episodes, and wouldn't be surprised if it was more.

This is the first time I watched a raw, and didn't wait for the subs. I really wish I understood purple-haired-ninja's flashback. The scenes btw. Ichi & Mommy were sweet-especially the end. I expect to see some of those memory stills in AMV's soon!

I was right about Kifine being evil, but Amagai still a mystery-to be resolved next week, I presume. But the stream I watched had no preview (or omake), so I'm not certain what will happen next week.

These fillers don't seem to have enough substance for 30 eps, but who knows?

Overall, it was better than I expected (Ichigo showed some real strength when dealing with his worst memories/illusions of his mom. Real emotional strength, and dare I say, character growth). I'm looking forward to seeing what side Amagai's on. Fillers can be entertaining!

I really liked this episode, nice quality and a good fight. Seeing Ichigo's memories of his mom again was nice and the final fight between him and Nukui was very pleasant. This and the previous two episodes didn't disappoint me in this Filler Arc, I liked them very much, I must say. Maybe Kifune could be Kannogi's son, or something like that, and he was on mission to break slowly Soul Society from inside...maybe.

I loved this Shinigami Cup, like always.

Well, after watching it subbed, I now doubt this arc is gonna last for more than 6 episodes. We've been shown the Arrancar encyclopedia (God, I love that silly name) so as we don't forget we're in the middle of another bigger arc.

I wanna say I liked this episode. Far better than the past-two. I think it was nice seeing Ichigo talk and hug his mom. The Vizard scene was good and the animation was great. But I think it's a shame how these past episodes trashed all chances for this arc to fit into the canon (which could, on the training-in-the-basements time period) .

Now I just hope for someone to kick Kifune's ass quick. Seeing SS against Karakura again is lame at this point. Aside from one or two 'revelations' on what Lurichiyo's famiy is, I feel like this last part is gonna drag.

I wanna see Kira tear Kifune up now. I hope Amagai isn't in league with that old dude. I would love for him to stick around and show up in future manga arcs.

I was tearing-up during those Little Ichigo and Kaa-chan scenes. OMG, how flippin' cute and sad all at the same time. Then, he was talking with her and stuff at his current age, and then I just couldn't help but ball at that -- him hugging her and telling her how he and his sisters and father are doing. That was just awesome! A very unexpected thing from fillers.

Vizard Ichigo always makes a splash, so it was great to see him pull on the mask, too.

Overall, I've always expected these fillers to last about 6 months, which is about the length of a Bleach season (25 episodes). Seems we're about half-way through with them, but I really wouldn't mind them ending earlier than that. Still very excited about getting back to Hueco Mundo...

All of the Ichigo and Mommy scenes were surprisingly touching. Nearly cried myself when he gave her his "We're doing great" update. Masakazu Morita's wonderfully nuanced voice acting is wasted on all of those Tarzan yells and tortured screams that Ichigo's otherwise been vocalizing.

Loved the soundtrack this time - they used all the best badass fight music. Oh, Number One Instrumental Mix, where art thou?

I consider it a sign of a "good" filler if Ichigo remembers he has Getsuga Tenshou. :) That sure made the fight a good deal shorter.

It was a good episode with Ichigo and his memories of his mum. Touching really.

The only way that could be true is if the manga was to end in the next 20-30 chapters, which I think is highly doubtful. The manga plot hasn't advanced at all since the anime fillers started, and I can't see it taking more than 2 episodes to cover the entire TBTP arc (if they decide to animate it). I believe the anime won't be back to the main plot until Dec/Jan, which would make it a winter war, just like Kubo wanted.

i also think the fillers will last for a long time. for some reason, i don't think they will animate the past arc. that's like stopping the current arc again. the bount arc lasted a whole year, this one might last as long

Well, what you wanna bet?

Look at the plot on the fillers and see if there's material to develop for 6 more months.

I think the tbtp arc will be animated, Kubo is gonna use the Vizards on the upcoming war and the pendulum arc is canon for their development. Besides the fillers, the anime has very rarely deviated from the original script.

I agree that the TBTP arc should and probably will be animated. It will only take up 2 or at most 3 episodes of the anime, however. The manga needs time to get ahead of the anime, I'd say at least 50 chapters of manga have to happen before they can bring back the main storyline. This exactly what happened at the end of the SS arc. The anime caught up to the manga, and we got the Bount arc. The Bount arc lasted 11 months, and it was 44 episodes long. The Bount arc had a far less compelling story than the current filler arc, and they managed to drag it out for almost a year. The only reason they did that was because they had to wait for the manga to develop. And the same is true this time, which is why I'm predicting at least 5 more months of filler. I have yet to see any persuasive arguments to dispute this theory.

i agree too. right now, the anime is at chapter 286, so if it needs to be +50 chapters, the manga needs to be at around 330-340 (without counting the past arc). which is around 20 more chapters. so it does add up to around 5-6 more months considering if there are some weeks without episodes or some weeks without chapters. of course, i'd love to be wrong and the real story to get back sooner.

the first couple of episodes of the the previous fillers were about those 3 mod souls. it was like fillers of fillers!!! the bount didn't appear til later. and then the story screw around for a while without much development unil they ''invaded'' soul society. same thing here, they don't seem to have much storyline but they can drag it for a while. we barely seen the new captain, he will surely do something good, at least showing us his bankai.

Returning to the original storyline doesn't mean it will be free of fillers.

Look at episodes like Ikkaku's kendo tale or the one about Hitsugaya and Karin. Not to mention Ashido.

This is a subjective argument based on predictions from both of our sides, but I think tbtp could take at least 6 episodes if developed correctly.

This arc already has its main bad guy (blue_ninja_with_forgettable_name) dead. And we've been shown the arrancar encyclopedia during this episodes. I think it has been planned as a short recess for the main storyline.

Which will return soon.

Filled with fillers.

I actually like this episode a lot more then I thought I would. I think the nice style in the fight plus the great music selection won it over for me.

As for how many more episodes. It will be at least the full season. So probably like 12 more minimum. You'd be surprised how much story can be stretched out.

NakeBenihime
07-04-2008, 04:26 AM
The anime likes to stay one year behind the manga, so, in that case, they wouldn't return to manga-episodes until around August, maybe even September, since those chapters were published around that time of the year last year.

That makes sense that this filler arc should last a Bleach season.

and the Vizard is back nice episode ! This filler is going on a nice track..and Kifune is now Aizen Jr..LOL

Regarding how long the arc will last...I guess 10-15 more weeks meaning 3-4 months..I dont think they can stretch it anymore since they revealed the bad guys and their plot...all is left is to stop and defeat them..

I thought it was pretty unique, how Ichigo did that twirl in mid-air summoning the mask, and much like the revelation of ishida's and sado's full power it appears that ichigo has the full mask at his disposal, it must've broken because he wanted it to.

i always thought kifune was related to Kenryuu, they have the same uniform under their shinigami garb. so i wonder, is the old man super strong? he seems like aizen to me, walking around with a baboon like surface appearance and then being a nasty gorilla underneath.

Aizen Sousuke and Szayel Aporro's love child Kifune just killed the guy and going up against the Gotei 13 in the next episode. They are seriously going through this arc fast and taking no time... Kurosaki Ichigo just had Memories in the Rain OVA/Episode re-run again...

King of New York... The next King Kon movie... Aizen is the Giant Gorilla and who does make the screaming woman while climing up Tower 5??? :rofl

If this filler arc follows the template of every other arc, they still have to have some kind of war in Soul Society. Probably ninjas vs. Shinigami, with Amagai vs Ichigo or Amagai vs Kifune as the main event. By the way, the next episode is titled "Confrontation?! Amagai vs. Gotei 13", so I'm guessing that SS blames Amagai for Kifune's betrayal. And he might have been complicit, but he could just as easily been duped by Kifune.

this is the kind of stuff i want from fillers, though not perfect it's enjoyable and getting back Masaki and more clips of Ichigo's past is great indeed
