Bleach Asylum chat channel

Howdy!

So, what is this about?

Well, few of us on IRC were thinking how it would be nice to have a place for people from BA to hang out and chat about everything, ranging from small talk, Bleach, to best ways for breeding opossums, you name it.

So today we made a channel #bleachasylum on IRC and is open for everyone to join. Yes, even forum lurkers can join if they behave ^___^

Being new and in a testing phase so to speak, the channel is small for now so don't be discouraged if there are only 5 people or in the channel. Give it time and it will probably grow just like the forum.

Now, a small guide for IRC newbies.

IRC is a program used for chatting, very simple to use...a multiplayer notepad so to speak:D

To use IRC you will need a IRC client. For everyone new to IRC I recommend the original IRC program, called mIRC...it's free, simple and you can get it here:

You can also use Chatzilla in combination with Firefox.

Alright, so you downloaded and installed IRC, what next?

Alright, now...start the program, go to file and chose the option "select servers".

1. You have the connect tab.

You can type your real name and e-mail address. Remember, they don't have to be real .

Type your two nicknames but don't connect, instead, go to the servers
There you can leave ALL under the IRC network options and from the IRC server select Rizon:Random Server from the long list of servers.

Alternatively, you can

- click 'add'
- description = irc.rizon.net
- IRC server = irc.rizon.net
- click add

After that, just connect to the server. Once you are connected, you can type /join #bleachasylum or just #bleachasylum if you are given an option to join a channel.


Don't forget the # sign

It's really simple and all of this has to be done only once, so don't be afraid to try it.
On top of that mIRC consumes little to none of the system resources so you can leave it on at all times, just like MSN for example.

If you have any kind of problems connecting to the channel feel free to ask me here, I will do everything I can to solve them.

Also, if you like or dislike the idea feel free to say it here so we can discuss it or improve something that needs improvement.

just make sure its on Rizon server and double click it should connect and then just type in /join #bleachasylum

Maybe your not spelling it right? Double check the server and the channel spelling. We've had a constant 10+ in the channel.

It depends on what time during they day you get on. We can get as many as 20 people on at one time during the day, but every now and then people get off or have to leave.

That means, that the channel is moderated. You have to get voice (permission) to write things. Try to query one of the Operators. Should help.

Yeah, my bad. Surreal usually leaves the channel moderated in case someone spams, he devoices them so they can't talk for a while.
