View Full Version : The Duel. (RP-Only)

This thread has been made to allow people to Duel to gain rank or honor. Like kenpatchi dueling the Captain of the 11th division for the right for the seat.
there will be no killing, but any level of skill is aloud.
The duels would be held seperate to current storys, more as a fun thing to do then a RP story. and all duels are held in a large arena, like the collosium of rome.
So there will be no running, the arena is surrounded by a barrier to allow it to be more like a cage fighting.
duels can change stakes.
^^ this is pretty mutch to allow people who want some one elses seat to fight for it outside of a story, both members must be ready to play though, and a judge must be obtained to certify the winner.

Sai Simply, sat on the wall. he hadn't been preparing, nothing of the sort. simply sitting and waiting, he knew deep down, that henna wouldn't let dishonorable people stand above him, and if he didn't defeat them, she would.
Henna was sat Quite still on the wall beside him, te Aren was empty... but the dried blood still stained the sands....
((( Ok kaoru^^ lets do this >.<)))

Kaoru walked into the arena. Hanamaru was tucked securely into his obi, the metal of the blades gleaming in the sunlight. All of the wounds that had previously covered the shinigami were now gone. His hair had been washed clean of the blood, as had his shihakusho. Though his physical state had improved dramatically, his mental state was still somewhat unstable. He had accepted Sai's challenge because it was only right that he do so. But he was still extremely hesitant about fighting the other in actual combat.
"Ah well... Way too late now, I suppose.", he said to himself as he looked up to see Sai and what appeared to be his Zanpakutou sitting on the raised wall. Kaoru raised a hand and drew Hanamaru from his obi. He let the metal blades of the fan fall open of their own accord before he moved to hold it properly. "I'm here, Amilay-san. Just as I said I would be.", the at-present third seat called out to the other, a rather blank expression stamped upon his features. "Would you like to get started now?"

a grin whiped across sai's face. At least the guys bravery was strong.
"Very well..."
Sai stood up from the wall, gently picking up Henna as he stood, his hair changing froom the normal white it had been, to black. Sai battle state, nothing really changed but he was now intune with fighting then he would have been, if fighting while in the Peace state.
Beggining to pull the short blade of his wakizashi, its metaling parts seemed dull and didnt reflect the sun like metal should.
"Rip him apart... Henna"
Sai knew there was going to be no battle without relesing their swords. and as he muttered the words the sword grew, grew and then stopped, the meter and a half long blade like a slab of steel with sharpened edgedes. the Grusom chains gentley swinging back and forth.
"Prepared yourself..."

There was that grin again; the same one Sai had been wearing whilst challenging the Third Seat. Kaoru had anticipated seeing it again. After all, almost everyone in the Eleventh Division bared their smiles when there was mention of a battle to be fought. He watched as the other shinigami stood up from where he had been sitting on the wall, careful to move his Zanpakutou as well. In his opinion, Henna was very beautiful. Her visage was almost enough to distract him from noticing that Sai's hair had changed color once again, this time to a pure black.
Kaoru watched the warrior draw his physical Zanpakutou but something about the blade didn't look quite right to him. There was no gleam reflecting off of the metal. But before he could ponder on it further, Sai uttered the command to release his Shikai. The short wakizashi soon became a much longer blade with serated edges and ominous chains hanging from its length. This new countenance sent a shudder down his spine, and he liked it. It was then his turn to unseal his Shikai.
"Blossom, Hanamaru!"
The fan that Kaoru had been holding then transformed itself into a large gleaming ringblade with an elegantly carved handle, which was now resting in its wielder's palm. He was standing in the center of the blade, bathing in its affect. It increased his concentration and minimized the impact of all distractions. The ringblade's second ability was the manipulation of wind and air currents. A semi-strong gale was blowing around him, playing with his hair and swaying his shihakusho. Purple eyes opened to focus on Sai.
"I'm ready now. Let's begin, Amilay-san.", he said, baring a cynical grin.

Sai swung the huge weapon out to the side, before running at Kaoru, dude to not using henna's abillity she was heavy and cumbersom, but maybe it was still enough.
he swung he outwards in a large swooping attack the chains slightly extending the range of the sword. the heavy and slow attack crashed towards Kaoru. Sai knew the boy would block it, if he idn't Sai's expections would have died there.
If he blocked it, then the destiny was set that Sai would need to use all of Hennas strangth.
the Young man infront of him was not the same timid person, his mind was more focused and less sketchy. Sai knew that the presanace of the boys shikai increased his mental state, But so Did sai's, as he'd soon find out

Kaoru watch as Sai swung his weapon out to the side and began a dash forward. He waited, as still as stone, until the heavy attack was about to come crashing down on him. Right before the blade and chains struck him, he increased the speed of the gale winds surrounding him and swung the ringblade around his body. The mere speed of the wind and his swing was enough to deflect the strike of Sai's blade, sending it off in a different direction.
Then, before Sai was able to recover his stance, Kaoru brought his free palm forward and directed the strong gale towards his opponent, hoping that it would be enough to send him crashing to the ground. However, if it wasn't, that meant he'd have to try a different manuver. If he really needed to, Kaoru could use the full strength of Hanamaru's wind attacks. But he didn't want to resort to doing that so early in their battle. Not if he didn't have to.

As sai over stepped, he passed Kaoru his eyes glaring at the man while failing in an attack, he felt the wind picking up again, another gust right at his heels just to push him that last bit off balance and send him to the floor.
instead sai grinned, with a deadly gingeling sound, 2 chains shot from hennas great blade into the ground on either side of sai's body, acting as a support, and helping Sai regain his balance, and allowing him to hold on in the gale while remaining upright.
Kaoruu's attacks were strange, the wind was under his control, but the wind could only push. Sai knew there where more complex attacks. but he too had other things to show Kaoru. stepping it up a otch after the gail passed.
sai stood, the once kicked up dirt from the floor now setteling.
"That it?" he grinned. "Inner lock one... Release!"
as sai boomed the command a chain slammed into his upper right arm, above the hand he was holding henna in, the inflow began, Rietsu poured from the limitless sword into sai like a tornado flowing round his body, thought it was only 10% sai knew there where limits, but with this rietsu boost, he was fster and stronger.
Suddenly a chain slashed across the arena hurling towards Kaoru, who was only just within the kill zone. Sai knew kaoru wouldnt take long to learn that his chains only reach so far.

Kaoru caught sight of Sai's glare as his opponent realized the attack was a miss. But he didn't let that distract him or cause him to become overconfident. That was where most people made a fatal mistake; believing that they held the upper hand. As it turns out, he'd been utterly correct. His second gale attack was thwarted as Sai's chains dug themselves into the ground at their feet, anchoring their master in an upright position as the strong winds continued to thrash around the two shinigami.
Those chains... Kaoru had majorly underestimated them, believing them to be just ornaments for Henna's blade. But now he had some idea of what they were capable of. He mentally commanded the wind through Hanamaru's voice, ordering for the gale to die down just slightly so that the dust and dirt could settle on the arena floor once more. His purple gaze remained intently on the chains adorning Sai's weapon, as though he was working out some strategy to use against them or dismantle them entirely.
The third seat waited patiently as Sai released some new technique of his Shikai. One of those destructive chains wrapped itself around its master's arm and began to infuse reiatsu into his body. It didn't appear to be a massive amount of reiatsu, but Kaoru knew that he would have to keep his guard up. He assumed that Sai would gain more strength and speed from the new energy. Thus, he'd have to stay sharp, with a little help from Hanamaru's concentration technique.
It was then that the second chain flew through the air, hurling itself at him. Even though Kaoru was not yet aware of the limited distance that the chain could reach, he was still prepared for the attack. He called upon Hanamaru, strengthening the wind and causing it to vibrate at such an intense speed that, when he swirled his ringblade around once more, the current sent out from the blade was sharp enough to slice through the ending section of the chain, severing it and causing it to fall to the ground.
"Well now, this is getting interesting, isn't it, Amilay-san?", Kaoru called, a small smile just barely visible upon his lips.

"Indeed"
as the chains withdrawed itself, the end regenrated like the tail of a lizard, forming the once again hardened pointed end. Henna was deadly in many Aspects, unlike most ranged weapons Henn had the abillity to learn, the Zanpaktou spirit was clever and very demonic, its sycotic plans where unraveld even in the most difficult battles.
thought Sai Now knew that henna knew she could be cut... he could feel the puslating rietsu of her mind slime into his body, beat after beat.
Kaoru can control the wind, and cause the wind to become a harmonic resonation causing vibrations. these tiny waves mean that the weapons become more deady like a saw blade. but harmonic resonations had one weakness Sai knew of. its was the weapon itself vibrating, not Kaorus arm...
remove the weapon... Remove the vibrations... Remove his arm....
Sai grinned...
before slamming towards Kaoru, launching the huge swoard upward and then slamming it down towards Kaoru's head, While the high strike came from above, 2 chains slithered across the floor. If kaoru became distracted by the raising attack his legs would become entwined.
and if he blocked, the high speed little metalic snakes would hurl themselves into his flesh before he could move. Sai riatsu began flaring as the huge Sword crashed towards the left of Kaorus neck.
Kaoru Miyazaki
06-23-2008, 08:34 AM
"Damn... It can regenerate itself.", Kaoru said, though he had come to the realization that both chains had a limited distance of range. A restrained reach, if you will. That was something that he certainly had to keep in mind. Perhaps if he manuvered Hanamaru's vibration attacks correctly, then he could find a way to sever more than just Henna's chains.
But there was also a reverse side to this coin. He had revealed one of Hanamaru's more devastating attacks, and anticipated that Sai would realize its weakness, just as he had realized Henna's. No matter what happened during this battle, he couldn't allow any attack to knock Hanamaru out of his grasp, or this battle would come to a very messy end with him as the loser.
The third seat was barely able to catch sight of his opponent's grin before Sai was attacking him again. His opponent dashed towards him, raising the sword above his head before bringing it down with rapid speed, aimed right at the purple-haired shinigami's head. However, there was a second part to this attack. Henna's twin chains were crawling across the arena floor, also intent on causing Kaoru harm. It seemed that the Third Seat was caught in a tight place in a bad situation.
Kaoru closed his dark eyes, calling upon Hanamaru once more. Slowly, he began to merge his own reiatsu with the winds and gales surrounding him. Soon, the wind was alight with glowing particles. "Hanamaru, shield!", he cried out. The gales stopped and the reiatsu-infused winds came together to form a tight, reinforced shielf in the form of a dome around their master. In the center stood Kaoru, who was watching as Sai's blade came crashing down on his shield.
Fortunately, the shield absorbed the majority of the damage, cracking in several places. But it was Henna's attacking chains that finally broke through. Kaoru braced himself as the dome exploded in large shards, sending Sai and his flaring sword flying away in another direction. He barely managed to complete a full swing of his ringblade, which blocked and deflected the two chains that had been so intent on piercing him. Then it was time for him to put more distance between himself and them, knowing what their limit of range was. Before his opponent was back on his feet, Kaoru was at a safe distance again, awaiting whatever else Sai would serve up.
"You know... This will sound sort of strange... But I'm kind of glad that you challenged me to a duel. I haven't had such a good fight in a long time, and I'm really enjoying myself. Dodging attacks that could easily end my life and throwing out attacks that are just as severe... I love it, I really do.", he said, holding Hanamaru at the ready.

Sai stared, a shield... what kind of weapon was this fan, both an offencive and deffensive style. the shield was breakable however, with more power, more speed... sai knew he had to prevent that shield from forming during his next attack, as the 2 chains that had attacked Kaoru slithered up Sai's Arm, burrowing into his shoulder blade and chest. and like an Explosion, the Huge pump of rietsu Slammed into Sai his rietsu flow increasing, the body increaasing its speed and strength by another 20%.
Sais rietsu now looked like a burning blaze of purple black energy. but another shadow pondered the result of the battle, Henna was silently grinning to herself.
As Sai launched his decisive attack running withing range of Kaoru. with increased rietsu, 3 more chains flowed from the sword, bringing the total to 6.
Sai Plunged the sword into the ground, and silently and inivislbe to Kaoru, 1 of the 3 free chains darted through the ground towards his feet. the other 2 chains swung out to the sides darting towards Kaoru from his left and right.
Sai then lifted his arm. the one flowing most with Hennas flooding rietsu.
"Bakudo 61... six rods of prision light."
Just then 6 glowing Shards slammed into Kaoru. like glowing beams of Energy and due to Sai's increased rietsu, the Kido ws stronger then it would have been. the chains still Snarling towards Kaoru

Kaoru watched closely as the chains delved into Sai's body, increasing his reiatsu once more. It now resembled burning dark purple energy. This made him just a little apprehensive. Unfortunately, Sai's increased speed caught him by surprise. Before he could move away, his opponent was up close and personal again. Henna's blade then produced three new chains. The first two had been hard enough to block and counter...
Sharp purple eyes absorbed the image of Sai plunging the blade into the ground at their feet. One of the chains buried itself in the dirt, continuing to move outside of their vision. The two remaining chains flung themselves towards the Third Seat, aiming for his left and right sides. He had been prepared to deflect them and keep an eye out for the chain that was moving underground, but then Sai launched another attack. He raised one of his arms and unleashed an extremely strong kidou.
Six large glowing blades simultaneously pierced Kaoru's midsection. The impact knocked the air from his lungs and left him paralyzed for a few moments. He felt blood rise in his mouth and he quickly spat it out on the ground, trying to process everything that was happening. Two chains were flying towards his sides. One chain was coming from beneath the ground. Six blades were now holding him in place, also preventing him from swinging Hanamaru, which meant that he couldn't deflect the chains.
“Ha... Hanamaru...!”
The Third Seat closed his eyes, trying to focus on his Zanpakutou's spirit. Suddenly, just before the chains reached him, an extremely strong raging gale swept up around Kaoru, swift enough to catch the chains and send them all hurling in different directions. Once the chains weren't the immediate danger anymore, the gales began to preform their vibration technique in an attempt to cut the blades confining Kaoru's body. He was panting hard, more blood spilling onto the ground with each labored breath.

(gale didnt effect the one underground right?)))
The 3rd chains sped from the ground, entangling Kaoru's legs, the barbs peircing his skin, and slowly tighening its grip. Sai gleamed a smiled, 2 of his chains had failed and the wind was increaseing.
"Go Henna!!!"
The chains that had been deflected Withdrew, and once again smashed towards Kaoru. aiming to entangle his rms and pin them in an upwards crusafix. Sai smiled. his bakudo had worked, but the vibrations hee could hear in the wind where like sonic screams of desperation, chewing at his Kido.
Sai was hoping to hell that Kaoru Would get trapped by the Crusafix attack Sai called "Judgment" where the opponent is held off the ground in a crusafix possition. the chains tighten and tighten untill submition... or until the target arms and legs are crushed untill unusable.
Sai placed his other hand on Henna's hilt, as another 2 more chains slithered into his arm, the maximum he could control in shikai, another 20% boost brought him too a huge Howling 150% rietsu, as the Explosion of spirit presure forces Sai to almost collapse to one knee from his own power. the flaming purple, Shot down the Current moving chains, increasing their Speed. Henna demonic voice could be heard from inside Sai's Head laughing, smiling, only playing with her Prey.
Sai was finding his current Ritsu overwhelming, he could feel his body being forced, by henna's will. if he impaled himself gain his power would overflow his body, and cause his to fall uncontious.
But Sai held On, forcing every ounce of strength to make sure Kaoru was not killed by this attack but was only imprisioned.

'Damn it...!', the curse echoed in Kaoru's mind.
Hanamaru's gale had started just in time to deflect the first two chains, but had come too soon to deflect the third chain that had been burrowing through the ground. Before Kaoru could devise a counter attack, the chain burst from the arena floor. It encircled his ankles, the barbs piercing his flesh. Each metal segment tightened itself more and more with each passing moment. Kaoru cried out again, stunned from the sharp pain coursing through his legs.
The chains that had been deflected rebounded and soared at him once more. This time, they hit their target, wrapping themselves around Kaoru's arms and then forcing them up into a Crucifix position. Hanamaru's vibrations were making progress at dissolving the blades of light, but they were too slow. Kaoru couldn't even think... There was too much pain from the chains crushing his limbs and the blades still piercing his waist. Eventually, his grip on the ringblade loosened and it fell from his hand.
Slowly, the gales and winds began to settle and disappear. Kaoru's vision began to swim and blur as his purple eyes started to fall closed. His breathing had become even more labored, coming out in tiny gasps. But he still had not full out screamed in agony. Most likely because he was on the verge of falling unconscious. There was nothing more that he could do in the battle to save himself. Well, at least their battle had been enlightening and invigorating. It had been more than he had expected, but he had still enjoyed himself, even if it had ended in his failure. He closed his eyes, smiling as he bowed his head forward, his long purple hair falling around his face like a curtain.

"Henna release him!"
Sai watched as the chains continued to Tighten, henna had taken control, forcing the chains to do her will, nothing mattered to her other then the death of her enemies.
there was 3 clinking sounds, and Sai knelt with Kaoru in his arms, and the huge Sword being held high, hepulled the chains from his arm, and he felt the huge drain of energy. had he gone over his limit?
'this doesnt mater!' he yelled, standing once again, his wakasashi back on his waist, and Kaoru laying in his arms. the boys blood ran down Sai's arms and dripped off his Knuckles. Sai knew he didn't have time to get to the 4th division medical center.
"Rip him apart henna!"
he had laid kaoru onto the floor now olding the huge sword beside Kaoru's head. a single chain slithered out of the blade and plunged into Kaoru's shoulder, and as it did to Sai boosted his rietsu, causing his body to react faster and his healing process increased in speed, Sai then grabbed the chain, the barbs slicing into his bare hand. he cringed but forced some of his Own rietsu into Kaoru.
"Come on, if you Die... it'll be a pin in the ass... So dont!"

Finally... the command came for his release. The chains slowly began to loosen their grip on his limbs, leaving behind dark bruises on his pale flesh, letting him fall limply towards the arena floor. But the impact never came. Instead, Sai caught him as he was falling. There were no chains in Sai's arms anymore. Kaoru wondered where they had gone. His Shikai resealed itself, his fan falling lightly to the dirt at their feet. Soon enough, his own blood was staining the ground, dripping from Sai's arms and his own hair.
Another command reached his ears. Kaoru felt his back touch the arena floor, and saw the sword laid beside his head. He cringed as one of Henna's chains buried itself into his shoulder, transferring reiatsu into his injured body. His nails dug themselves into the ground, his hands soon clenching into fists as the reiatsu from both Henna and Sai began to repair the damage that had been done. Sai had kept his word and hadn't ended his life, though Kaoru had begun to think that it might have been better if he had done so.
“Amilay-san... You can stop worrying now. I'm not dead, nor am I in any danger of dying...”, he said quietly.

"What kind of man would i be to leave a comrad laying on the floor wounded. Though, i have made a desision, i won't take your seat amongst our Squad. its enough that only you know the true extent of my power. as my leader i accept you. So shut up, and stop swirming..."
said sai, a smile on his face, as the boosted rietsu finished its job.
the chain withdrew back into henna, like someing ppearing and disaapearing from a dark closet. Sai helped Kaoru sit up. thought all the boys timmidness and weak appearance, a truely brave and warrior like soul resides.
"Come on, we have to go and finish the search for the controler of the Kadavor that assulted himura-fukotaichou."

Despite the pain that still held sway over his body, Kaoru managed a soft giggle. “I wasn't squirming... And as for shutting up, you were doing a lot more talking than I was, Amilay-san. But that's all right.”
The purple-haired shinigami cringed slightly as the chain removed itself from his shoulder and disappeared back into Henna's blade. Her reiatsu, combined with Sai's, had been more than enough to heal all of the damage he had sustained during their duel. There was no more pain, though the blood was still visible. Kaoru didn't object as the other man wrapped an arm around him so as to help him sit up. He smiled, bringing up a hand to brush his hair from his eyes.
“Thank you...”, he paused, listening to Sai's next words. “I'm sorry, but I have no knowledge of that event. I wasn't present and wasn't informed of it. But of course I'll help you out with that mission...”

with a grin, he simply looked up and said.
"Lets go and eliminate this problem before it escalates, as the 3rd and 6th seat, we should crack this." (im the 6th untill i get a perminant placement from dizzy)
(and lets move back to the Investigation thread, in all honesty its fine me having 6th seat, now that every one has been wtching this thread, they can learn that nomatter the strength, its wisdom, knowledge, leadership and hundeds of other aspects that make a leader, so i'm happy to fight as the 6th seat, because you know im strong enough for a higher seat^^)
