This is my last summer with you
With the first rain ill disappear
My tears will run through the streets
Like a falling leaf and distant hopes
I am a winter person among thousands of sea people
But in this winter I wont exist anymore
Slowly the layers melt
If we want or not and last prayers
So remember you promised not to cry
Because the skies are big and the tears are small
Close your eyes with each first rain
And think about me.
I want to climb the mountains because they are there
And visit countries from across the sea
To know if there are other lifeforms
And if the dead keep on living
Because it my last summer with you
With the first rain ill disappear
Slowly the layers melt
If we want or not and last prayers
So remember you promised not to cry
Because the skies are big and the tears are small
Close your eyes with each first rain
And think about me.

Okay, this is a song from Hungary from a folk metal band
(the video clip sucks, but the song itself is good)
Here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=796GnvRJ9ZI
Here is the Hungarian lyric:
Echo Of Dalriada - Téli Ének
Eljött újra a dermesztő sötét.
And here is the translation (it was really hard to translate it, cuz it has a lot of old word usage in it, so sorry for the inexplicable words)
Echo Of Dalriada - Winter Aria
I would go if they would wait for me, if I wouldn't be the prisoner of the bitter- uneasy waiting...
I would stay if they would let me, and if the sky couldn't stand the fire of the wings of my steps...
If the night comes, I will land quietly, my lips in the frost and snow numbly whispers:
The numb darkness came again.
The pleasure is ancient, but it's okay like this, I've been suffering alone for so long, and there will be someone again who quietly closes her (or his) eyes...
Winter Aria, Shadows are burning
Torch in the sky, they are all ash already.
Shadows are burning, dead and cold lights
If the end of the path comes, where will it find me?
I'm walking on ice flowers...
In thick fog, in winter, in the ambush of the forest...
But in sunrise I live again, it keeps me in fever (I dunno if it has a meaning in English, but it's the same as: it gives me the chills), and the
Song of spring will sound again!

From the depths I called out to you
Come to me
Upon your return, the light will return to my eyes
I am not finished, I am not leaving the touch of your hands
May it come and light up to the sound of your laughter
From the depths I called out to you
Come to me
Against the moon that lights your way
back to me
They spread out and melted against the touch of your hands
In your ears I whisper, and ask
who is that calling out to you tonight,
listen up
Who sings out loud to you, to your window
Who gave his soul so you would be happy
Who will give a hand and build your home
Who will give his life, and put it beneath yours
Who will live as dust beneath your feet
Who will love you more than all other loves
Who will save you from every living spirit
From the depths...
From the depths I called out to you
Come to me..

eeeh, nice thread! :nuts
firstly, i'd like to introduce everyone to Jurga, one of truly the best lithuanian songwritters/singers. She's released 2 albums so far: Aukso pieva (Golden meadow in english, 2005) and Instrukcija (Instruction, 2007). I personally like the first one more, although her song "5th season" of the second album is one of my favorites. the music clip is great also!
check it out, pleaaaaaase;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rwSjeE_wpg
...and really really nice song from "Aukso pieva" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJcHbXJrt2w it's called Nebijok (don't be afraid), aaaaand it won the best lithuanian's song's award in 2005;)
secondly, i just cannot to neglect to mention the SKAMP. I'd be super cool if anyone here knew it, cuz this band's now concentrates into Irish market (i guess:headscratch) and i haven't heard from their quite a time now. well, except for their 10th anniversary :D SKAMP has participated in ESC (Eurovision Song Contest, a popular but unvalued contest in Europe, and yet very overvalued one here, in LT ;D) in 2001 and took the unlucky 13th place with a song "You got style" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvMLaXTLEyo)
but i originally wanted to show you their other works:
L'Attente (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QorB2pAags)
and
Reach (for the stars) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ogpwx2Xk9CE)
and, finally (yay, huh?;D) i'd like to show my favorite song of my favorite rap band - G&G Sindikatas. They rock. Or they rap. whatever ;D just here's the song, cuz i'm a bit too tired to describe another cool band and i know that it wouldn't be interesting to you anyway. so-
Darome hip-hop (we make hip-hop in english) (http://gg.sindikatas.darome.hip.hop11.vaizdelis.lt/)
thanks for reading to those, who actually did, and even bigger thanks if you listened to any of those songs above!
pretty nice, but i was dissipointed that many of those songs were in english.
the one who wanst...what language is that? sounds slavik but more refined than russian.
one of those songs reminded me the 70's 80's fashion so i brought this up.

thanks for listening!;)
eeeh! it just happened that the english songs of those artists were slighly better, imo. :) SKAMP, btw, never sings in lithuanian. only in english and, as you saw, in french once. and there were two songs in LITHUANIAN (yes, thats lithuanian - baltic, not slavik;P) - Nebijok and Darome hip-hop.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nOOadP0oeI -- it's israelian/arabian or something like that??o_O sounds somewhat like spanish to me!:D but feelgood indeed. heh, and why did it became so popular in japan?;o maybe there's an english version too then?
that is zvika pick song the automatic dancer, it didnt went well in japan.
the song is full with lines like: "he lives the music, with electrified body" "let him talk with his legs"

Well, since I'm from Colombia... :o
Shakira, Juanes, Aterciopelados... not like you care.
Though in Latinamerica there are many great artists that should really be bothered listening to like Zurdok, Jaguares, Maná, Jumbo, Café Tacvba, etc.
