After the rescue of Himura-Fukutaichō and their departure from the morgue, Itō Haruki returned to the 6th Division...
"I'm very sorry for your loss." Itō bowed his head slightly, trying to give his most comforting look to the man who stood before him: Murakami Yuusuke, husband to Murakami Yoshino, deceased.
Suzuki Mai had turned up alive and well while he and the others were trapped in the morgue. As it so happened, she had been injured in a Hollow attack and was forced to remain the Living World for a couple of days while she recovered. Whoever had been responsible for delivering that message to Itō had obviously been lax in their duties, and when he had the time, he'd certainly find out who it was.
Which left, of course, Murakami Yoshino as the only missing member of the 6th Division. Upon showing her husband, also an unranked 6th Division member, the autopsy photographs, the man had identified the heretofore unknown victim as his wife almost immediately.
"Arigatō gozaimasu, Itō-Taichō," Murakami said, beginning a stiff bow. However, Itō stopped him with a hand on his shoulder.
"Don't be so formal. Worry about yourself for now. And if you need anything, please don't hesitate to let myself or Murasaki-Fukutaichō know."
"Th-thank you, Itō-san."
"Of course," Itō said. "Please, take the rest of the week off to relax. I'll let you know as soon as the 12th Division is finished with their examinations of your wife and we're able to return her to you."
"Yes, please," Murakami said. "The sooner I can bury my wife... the better." The man looked to be at the breaking point, and Itō felt it was probably time to leave him to his grief.
He turned away, heading towards the exit of the 6th Division lodgings...
"Itō-san!"
He glanced back to Murakami, whose sadness had been replaced with a fiery intensity. "Yes?"
"The one who did this to my wife... Please, please catch them! And make them pay!"
Itō turned fully back to face him, and inclined his head. "You have my word."
To be continued in "Fallen Blossoms: An Investigation"...
In the 6th division captain room there is a large pedestal, Ito never understood why the previous captain had that thing in the room, but when he returned from the all ordeal with the morgue and consulted Murakami Yuusuke for his lost, he saw the use of that pedestal. On top of the slightly elevated stoned surface laid the 4th seat, Ezzo, naked and sleeping while curled over himself like a embryo with his tail beneath reaching and covering his head. Without cloths it could be mistaken for a crocodile, the scales and small feather like spikes across the spine only made it look more animalistic. He breath slowly, sleeping.
"Ito-taicho, can I have a word with you?" the voice came from behind, it was the division cook, "I need to inform you about him," he pointed at the sleeping lizard, "the little I learned from the old captain."

"Walk with me," Itō said. "Time is short." He raised a sheaf of papers, his report on the day's events, which he planned to deliver to the 1st Division.
The cook nodded, and they proceeded towards the exit leading out of the 6th Division headquarters.
"Anyway, regarding our reptilian friend, please continue."
"It all began when the captain went on a trip to the edges of rokungai, he told me he found a temple deep in the forest, a temple built not for humans, it was just too large…" he paused and looked at the door entrance, "OUR Ezzo is only a whelp, the mother was over 5 meter tall, keep in mind that he is only 20 years old and apparently he spent the last 10 sleeping so in a way he is 10, but that isn’t the point. The captain entered the temple and found a nest but the mother didn’t like it and attacked, he had to kill her but that was a hard fight apparently she was very strong. He then took one of the eggs with him back to sereitei."
They kept walking through the corridors, "eventually the egg hatched and Ezzo was a cute little whelp, if you ignored that he added 10 kilo a day as he ravaged cows like you would ravage a candy, until he reached this size, it was in less than 3 months."
The cook stopped and shivered, "but this is only the physical history, it's his behavior around the age of 3 months that made us worry, when he started to talk about things he should…COULDN’T know."

Itō smiled. "I can appreciate your sense of suspense, but this simply isn't the moment for it. Is this knowledge of his dangerous in any way? Otherwise, regardless of what he should or shouldn't know, it's something I'll have to worry about later.
"During the two centuries I spent in Rukongai, I came across any number of bizarre and inexplicable things... But as long as they didn't pose a threat to the safety and security of Soul Society, ultimately, they were not my concern. As long as Ezzo-san fulfills the duties of his position and remains loyal to the Gotei 13, anything else about him is merely inconsequential to me."
Itō turned to face the cook. "So, unless there's anything urgent about him that I must know this minute, I'm afraid I need to deliver my report to Kenjuro-Sōtaichō with all due haste."
He was about to walk away, but then another thing popped into his mind. "Oh, and if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you prepare a meal and leave it in my quarters for when I return? I'd forgotten entirely, but I haven't eaten since this morning, and I'm absolutely famished."
"and here is the mystery, we don’t know if he is dangerous or not, but the pedestal…the reason that Ezzo sleeps there is because that was his, or her bed, the previous captain was obsessive about Ezzo, claiming that he must watch on him closely and that they had talks in his dreams…if something weird starts to happen around him, and you can be sure there will be something weird, you know where to find me. Ill be off now to make your dinner."

Itō gave a light bow. "Arigatō. I appreciate your concern. I'll definitely keep it in mind, and contact you should anything out of the ordinary arise. You have my word."
He smiled and waved. "Well then, I'll be off." And in the telltale flicker of shunpō, Itō was gone, speeding off towards the 1st Division.

OOC: Just to inform you Gol, I sent a PM to Mystic telling him that I have quit the RPG. There are a couple of reasons for this, none that i am willing to say in a post, but sorry. I may come back at a later time, but i am not sure.
