Sayuri woke up again just in time to recognise a few members of her own medic team. They were looking worried. She just grinned at them and tried to wave... which made them look more worried.

She was quickly installed into a private room with one bed. Some water and pills were shoved into her hands whilst one of her own team gave her a quick checkup. Sayuri dropped the pills into the glass and swirled them around, fascinated at the patterns. Until the attending healer seemed to notice and made a strange noise (cough? chuckle? horrified gasp?) and told her to please drink up.

" 'Kay." Sayuri agreed obediently, which drew another worried look. One bracelet was strapped around her upper arm, the other around her wrist, and strings lead from the bracelets to a small beeping machine with brightly coloured lights.

" 'Kay I'll watch the oven for you. " Sayuri announced with a drowsy smile. The healer made the strange noise yet again, and flicked one hand over her forehead.

Sayuri promptly went to sleep.

Ren entered the division, still in a good mood after viewing the identical bodies in the morgue. She decided not to tell Oto's widow that they'd actually had another copy of her husband running around, there was no telling what the shock would do to her.

She headed towards her office, pausing on the way to check up on her fifth seat in one of the recovery rooms. She grabbed one of the attending shinigami and requested a report on the girl's condition as soon as one was available.

When she reached her own office she called in her sixth seat and ordered him to obtain a new haori for her. He bowed and scuttled off.

As Otowari gently picked up his vice captain Shinji signaled for Ezzo and Kyro to get ready to leave.

"We'll be goin' ta tha 4th division."

He led the group out of the 12th division and they began moving towards the 4th. As they continued walking Shinji told Ezzo to be wary, they didn't want to be ambushed now that they finally got Himura back, especially since two of the Shinigami were injured.

As they approached the 4th Shinji sighed, relieved that they reached their destination without any difficulties. He pulled out his mobile and called Ren,

"We're just outside tha 4th I hope dinners ready." As he finished his sentence he smiled, happy to finally have the opportunity to fill his empty stomach.

Keiji held tightly onto the body of his vice captain as he followed Shinjiro to 4th division to make sure she was safe. It would be a shame if he didn't get the chance to learn about one of his vice captains and losing her after having just meeting earlier today. He waited outside the entrance with the others.

Just borrowing random characters just to get things moving:

The healer finished her checkup on Sayuri and left the room, only to be told that the captain wanted the report on Sayuri's medical check now. She sighed, went off to write a properly neat report, then headed to the Captain's office to present it.

Sixth seat ran back into the captain's office with the new haori, tearing off the thin paper wrapping along the way. He couldn't quite see who was in the same corridor as him, a large piece of paper wrapping having stuck on his face. He collided into someone outside the captain's office door.

[Uni I'm going to put someone else outside the door if that's okay]

Ren heard a muffled thump from outside her door and frowned "Who is it?" The door slid open to reveal the sixth seat, embedded in the side of the fifteenth seat. Ren watched, amused, as he extracted himself from the enormous woman.

Fifteenth ignored him and lowered her head to look at Ren. She opened her mouth and the sound she made was akin to the volcanic grumblings of the earth "Taichou. You wanted me."

Ren grinned "Yes. Go wait in exam room one. Someone should be coming in for a checkup soon."

The various jars on the wall behind Ren rattled as the enormous fifteenth seat stomped out of the room. She realized that in fact there were two other shinigami waiting outside. The sixth seat entered first, bowing profusely and deposited the haori on her desk. Ren watched him leave with a frown. He needed to get some backbone.

She turned to regard the other visitor "You have the report on Himura Sayuri? Come in."

Oh gard, there's a sumo wrestler in 4th!

The healer waited patiently until the Captain called her into the office. She bowed and placed the neatly-written report onto the large desk.

"Taichou, the report on 5th Seat Himura Sayuri you requested. She was diagnosed with general exhaustion and overdose on her medication.

"She will recover by herself, given time. We recommend a full day's bed rest, then light desk duties for a few days after that."

The healer bowed to indicate the end of her verbal summary.

As the group of Shinigami stopped at the entrance to the 4th Shinji wondered, "No welcoming party?"

Normally he would shout out, requesting someone to open the gates, but the situation now called for a different approach. He pulled out his mobile and gave Ren another call,

"Reeeeeen, were outside now can ya open the gates?"

(OOC: Don't even know what OOC stands for but whatever. :p I assume the gates were closed as there is still a killer at large also that it is around dinner time seeing as how alot has happened, and Shinji wants his food. :D If this is not the case I'll happily edit my post.)

Ren held the phone a foot away from her ear.

"Gah, calm down Shinji, I'm coming."

She turned to the woman who'd just finished her report "You get back to Sayuri, if anything changes in her condition let me know."

She stood and used shunpo to reach the front gates, at the same time as Suzuki and Ishikawa appeared to see what the fuss was about.

"You two! Get a stretcher." She commanded, luckily this time they actually recognised her and did as they were told. Ren flipped a lever near the gates and they swung open to reveal the sorry looking party standing outside.

Suzuki and Ishikawa had returned with the stretcher, and Ren helped them load the still unconscious fukutaichou of twelfth onto it, then after glancing over her quickly, sent her two subordinates to take the girl into surgery.

Ren then turned back to her two other guests "Otowari-san, welcome to Fourth Division. Let me show you to an exam room so we can get your physical over with quickly. Then maybe you could join me and Shinji for some dinner."

She gestured for them to follow her.

Keiji watched as his fukutaichou was carried away, he hoped that she would pull out alright. He then became aware of what Ren what just asked at him. He gave her a rather confused look. "Uh, I feel pretty fine you know, I don't think I really need a physical or anything." He looked down at his clothing, he didn't get a chance to change since the incident at the morgue, so a lot of his clothes was still burned away or tattered. "Can I pass?"

Ren frowned "You know how many diseases there are floating round in the air of soul society? You know how much bacteria got reincorporated into your body while your arm was healing? You're going for a checkup or I won't let you in to see either of the Himura girls are doing, that is your fukutaichou and my fifth seat, who at the moment is lying in bed unconscious because she was healing you."

She suddenly smiled and patted him on the shoulder "Either way it's up to you. I'm sure you'll make the right decision. Come on Shinji, let's head to the kitchens and make them cook us something better than what we give the patients."

Rayne's eyelashes fluttered, only revealing a fog of light to her blurred vision. With every measure she came closer to waking, the pain in her body increased, but she progressed regardless. Above all she felt amazed that she could still be alive, after what Daichi had done to her. What she'd done to herself, by failing as a shinigami. It should have been obvious she wasn't ready for this.

"Ugghhh," she groaned again, her throat raw from being throttled. If she squinted just right, she could make out the shapes of several people kneeling around her. "Ghh... Go 'way."

This woman sure knows how to bargain...

He was going to argue the fact that the morgue was a relatively clean area, and that the barrier probably ensured nothing else got in at the time. But he, felt that arguing with this woman equated to wishing for death. He'd skip out most definitely if it were not for the threat of losing his right to visiting his injured fukutaichou and the one who probably saved his life.

In the end, he had little choice but to reluctantly accept the terms given to him by Takada. "As you wish," he said as he followed her into the gate.

(((OOC- thanks for being patient guys, sorry but i was away most the weekend and monday was hectic^^)))

Kyro signaled for the group to enter the 4th, and then directed them to the same treatment room he had been in.

after they had placed rayne on the bed. kyro quickly go to work, his taichou was in the building but it was fionally his time to prove himself. Kyro pulled one of the seringes from the same pouch as before the small lable "Inhibitor" written on its side, and pushed it straight into the area with the sword patruding from it, cutting off all rietsu to that small location would mean the body would'nt be trying to heal itself around the weapon. kyro knowledge of the body wasn't tops, but she knew the sword had missed most organs but there was internal bleeding and due to the swords elegant shape, the cuts where clean. he places a palm on Raynes face hoping she could hear him.

"This is gonna hurt, ok?"

he placed a palm around the wound, and with his spare hand took a firm grip of Raynes sword, and with one silent but swift movement, he pulled it from her body, instantly plugging the hole in her with 3 of his fingers to try stop the bleeding, even with Ezzos strange power being active there was alot of blood now spluttering from the hole. kyro quickly found alot of nerve clusters and main arterys passing through the cut section, he needed to prevent further bleeding.

He quickly threw the large satchual into the air, causing 5 seringes to drop from it to the floor. quickly grabbing one. he injected the increaser into one of the main blood vessels, with the sudden rietsu increase the small peice of flesh began to move, rejoining itself to its counterpart. the increased rietsu also forced the body ti increase healing by 80%.

he now injected the other seringes into key spots. and the hole slowly began to close from the inside. kyro sighed, as he now looked up at raynes face. hopeing to god that he hadn't missed anything. he took care of some of the slightly smaller burns and cuts with bandaids and other materials he was now fishing from his robes.

he looked up at shinji.

"She should be ok, alot of bed rest, and some major painkillers. also if takada taichou could increase the bodys healing rate, my rietsu increasers are good. but all the repairs are fresh and weak and will take time to fix themselves. if himura-chan moves around to mutch she'll tear the repairs and she will be returned to the state she was just in."

Instead of obeying, an obnoxiously wavering male voice came from one of those people. The voice tried to sound reassuring, but Rayne thinks the confidence was lacking.

Wonderful, she breathed, feeling the strange sensation of something bubbling in her wound.

With a feeble hand, she reached up and grabbed the edge of this man's sleeve, to utter her last request in a barely audible rasp. "Send a message to Otowari Keiji. Tell him he's a sack of shit for leaving me and i'll get him for this." She coughed again, letting her eyes drift shut. If she did that, the piney, woodsy scent of her inner world overpowered the blood drenched foulness of her present reality.

Ren smiled, in a not altogether uncreepy manner, and led Keiji towards one of the examination rooms. She held the door open for him and pointed him inside "This is our Fifteenth Seat, her name is... Actually everyone just calls her Fifteenth, that's even what they've put in her file. She's been around forever and is one of the best general healers our division has."

The mountain of a woman grunted her assent and gestured Keiji over to the table. "Sit. Take off shirt."

Ren waved him a goodbye "I'll come find you when you're done, I'm off to keep an eye on our fukutaichous now. Good luck!"

She closed the door and chuckled quietly to herself. That'd teach him to take advantage of one of her ducklings.

She arrived back in the surgery in time to hear Rayne's last words. Luckily for her the girl drifted back into unconsciousness at that point, because otherwise Ren would have sent her there herself.

Ren held herself back from saying what she wanted to say, resolving to talk to the girl herself once she'd woken up. She glanced at the others in the room "I will pass on her message to Otowari-taichou myself. Is that clear?"

Everyone nodded, and she strode over to Kyro's side to inspect his work "You've done a good job."

She swung a hand over the top of the girl's body and sent out reiatsu probes to make sure that nothing else was leaking anything. It seemed like he'd got most things though. "Yes, a very good job. Now all we can do is get her to recovery and hope her desire to 'get' her taichou is enough to drag her back from the brink."

She smiled "Really we just need to wait now, if we accelerate the healing process much more we'll just end up with a girl who is cranky, tired and hungry because of how much of her energy the process has taken. Those drugs were created so as not to sap too much energy from the body."

She sighed "Speaking of which, after using that regenerative serum on himself, Otowari taichou must be starving, so I'll have to deal with him as well as Shinji."

kyro beamed a prowd grin at his taichou. thinking that obviously she was either drunk, or on a sugar rush due to the pleasntrys. but as kyro thought about it. he still hardly new takada-taichou. unlike the other captains kyro had never met takada-taichou face to face untill the day of his enrolment witch was only a few weeks ago.

kyro had heard of her reputation as a man eater. but decided to ignor them as silly rumors spread by lower seated members. thoguh he was please that she had complimented his work. a wave of what fealt like gentle heat washed over him as the words circled his head.

"you've done a good job" - repeated over and over.

suddenly kyro snapped from his dazed stance, himura-chan was now fully uncontious. proberly the best tie to move her to a more comfortable and charming room then the bleached white and stainless metal surfaces and walls of the treatment room.

kyro signaled to gellente to pick up rayne in a gentle way. and then both the fukutaichos left the room kyro bowing before he left.

"Thank you taichou, your praise will only increase the effectivness of my work"

in kyros mind he slap him self.

*way to go, now you sound like a suck up* swore his brain as he left the treatment room following gellente to the recovery wing of the HQ.

As Shinji followed Ren around the 4th, he tried his hardest to stop his stomach from growling. First they led Otowari to an examination room where a rather gruff healer was awaiting.

"Ughh not even a cutie giving tha checkup..." Shinji thought "Poor Otowari."

Next, they visited Himura who uttered a final message for Otowari, which was more like a death threat. Ren said she would personally deliver this message to Otowari and Shinji knew better than to argue with her.

Her last comment was what caught Shinji's attention the most, "Dinner at last!" Shinji couldn't wait a second longer for his food, he motioned for Ren to lead the way and followed happily with a smile on his face, hoping the kitchen was near by.

Keiji sat down on the examination table and slid off what remained of his haori and top part of his uniform. It had been a long time since he was in a situation such as this, seeing as how this was the first time since he first became a shinigami that he entered 4th Division as a patient and not a visitor. His regenerative serum usually saw to the healing of most of his major injuries.

But here he was now, sitting in the cold hospital room because of what he suspected to be some evil plot. As captain of the fourth there was no way she meant all that about the bacteria and him being infected. Besides if that were the case wouldn't a shot be enough...

Either way, guess that didn't change the fact that he was now here, getting examined by this rather uh, "large" woman. The examination was more rough then he would have liked. She gripped his wrist too tight when checking for his pulse, poked too hard when checking his healed ribs, pressed to hard with the stethoscope...if the needle had been any longer on the syringe she probably would have impaled his arm through when getting a blood sample. He was more than convinced now that this was some evil plot by the 4th.

"Drop pants. Now," came a rather stern monotone voice that interrupted Keiji's thoughts.

Did he just hear her right? "Uh excuse me, say that again?"

"Pants off. Prostate check."

Keiji's eyes opened in horror at the statement. This was going way too far, the other things he could somewhat understand if Takada was somehow actually concerned for his well-being...but there was nothing that merited this. Not that he was ashamed of you know or anything, and under normal circumstances he probably would have gone through with it cause what has to be done has to be done.

But he was now more than ever, thoroughly convinced this was all an evil plot. Considering how rough he was handled before, he didn't even want to think about what would happen if he went through with this. No...he had to escape this fate...

He acted quickly and got up off the table with the pretense that he would remove his pants. However once his feet touched down, he quickly grabbed what remained of his haori and threw it at the 15th's face. After that he made a rush for the door and once outside, he flash stepped down the hall. He had to escape this place. Worse came to worse, he could probably sneak in and check on his fukutaichou or Sayuri if he tried hard enough. For now he just had to get out of here.

Kyro pushed open a door with his head, due to the absence of his arm holding the stretcher like bed. both the vice, and mod soul managed to quite akwardly get through the door, the gentle warming glow of a single bed recovery room. its little side cabinates and a window neatly set into the wall facing south. out side the window was a cultivation area that the 4th used to grow special herbs and plants for use in potions and serums.

"This should do" said kyro gellented swiflt pushed himura-san from the stretcher onto the bed.

kyro pased the room a little. before finally pausing. and staring out of the window previously mentined. hes eyes wanderd to the side, as in a swift yet silent and motionless movement kyro pulled himuras Zanpaktou from his robes. looking at the still bloodied blade. he quickly pulled a stero whipe from a box on one of hte cabinates, and whiped its blade clean. and then leaning it neatly beside Raynes bed.

"Ok, Gellente, please go and get me 12mg of nox-O-buff. the 20mg sergines are in the blue boxxes in the stores."

the small gigai nodded before silently exiting the room. kyro stared down at his new patiant. other then seeing her at the devisional meeting, he rmemberd that hes never actually met or even spoken to Himura-san. it was like being at a party without knowing anyone. kyro knew it was best to watch over her untill she regained conciousness, then he administer proper painkillers and regenerative serums while she was awake.

he slid on of the cabinates away from the wall and quietly slumped ontop of it. his energy was still low aswell. now the rietsu increaser had run out it was like going on a sugar rush, then being tired after.

"Yo, himura-san, Why'd ya fight him on your own. its true you proberly would have won, but look at the mess ya in now, oi Himura-san. ya hear me? ya shoulda been more carefull. anyway we gotta wait untill you wake fully before we give you painkillers. so dont try to move like a loony the second your eyes open, alright?"

kyro knew the girl couldnt hear him, but he also knew even a subconsious mind takes infomations from the body, so when she wakes up she should remember somthing of what he just said.

like when your asleep, if you are stabbed by a pin while asleep, in your dreams it will feel like you just got stabbed by a pin. you might not remember it, but your body knows its happened.

Ren headed for the kitchen, Shinji following behind her like a tall red eyed puppy. It wasn't that he was cute, but that his mouth was slightly open and he was drooling slightly. She fought the urge to take the long route, it was too late in the evening to be playing mind games with him, besides she was pretty hungry herself.

She stepped into one particular corridor as a purple haired blur bolted toward the exit. She blinked "Otowari-san? Is your checkup finished? Shinji and I were just on our way to get dinner, you should join us."

She smiled winningly "I was thinking we could eat in the room of one of the Himura girls, I had them put in adjacent rooms so I could keep an eye on them easier."

The exit was near, the goal so close in sight. He didn't know the layout of 4th division very well, so it was a little hard to navigate around. Luckily all he had to do was follow the many exit signs that would surely point him in the right direction. But alas it was not so, they had deceived him, leading him to an exit yes, but also right towards the one person he was trying to avoid!

He stopped at once after hearing the voice of Takada Ren, not wanting to draw any more suspicion by just fleeing outright. "Oh uh, yes, check-up is all done of course. Dinner? Uh sure but," he looked at himself once more. Top hanging off his sides around him, holes that were burnt all over the bottom of his uniform. "Uh, I was thinking I should get a change of clothing or shower first?"

"After you're dressed get someone to show you to Himura Sayuri's room, we'll eat in there, I'll try and get her to eat something, she's going to need her strength."

Shinji's head instantly filled with thoughts of delicious foods; rice, noodles, fish, meat, vegetables, soups, and especially sake. Ito had told Shinji to be alert so maybe sake wasn't the best choice, maybe after this was all over.

"Hmm at this point I could eat anythin'..." Shinji thought for a moment, "I'll have a bowl of udon, some tempura, yakizakana, sukiyaki, rice of course, an' gōyā chanpurū please. For drinks, a glass o' water. Unless sake is on tha menu?"

Keiji followed the 4th division member to the changing rooms and looked around. Though there were plenty of spare normal uniforms that fit his size, he instead grabbed one of the yukata that the hospital patients usually wore.

Heh heh, been looking for something new to wear to bed...maybe I can get away with taking this.

He was still a bit dirty, so he opted not to change quite yet and instead asked to be lead to Himura Sayuri's room. When he arrived he noticed that no one else was there yet, guess the others were still getting food. He thanked the 4th division member and finally stepped into the room.

What is Takada thinking...eating in a recovering patient's room... He couldn't help but still be a little suspicious of the 4th division captain, but maybe she was just...off about some things he guessed.

He took a few steps toward the still unconscious Sayuri, he couldn't help but feel a little guilty. She was in this condition because she had helped him and he was the one who came out of it pretty much spotless. "I'm sorry...and thank you," he said quietly. "I'll thank you in a more proper way when I get the chance."

That done, he felt that he should go ahead and make good use of the time it would take for Takada and Shinjiro to arrive with the food. He made his way into the bathroom connected to the room and decided to wash off before joining the rest for dinner. Closing the door behind him, he stripped off and disposed of his now tattered and burnt uniform and stepped into the shower. He turned the water on and stood there a bit under the rain of the shower head, it felt relaxing for some reason.

She opened her eyes and smirked as she heared Kyro's voice. The hospital room in which Rayne was staying - or rather being kept, was one of those rooms which was employed for the purpose of not letting the patient out. In fact, she'd been planning on how to leave from the moment she gained consciousness, and the main thing keeping her here now was that she's having this feeling that something bad is going to happen once she's out of here. That fact was doing more to keep her in bed than all of the bars and reiatsu dampening cuffs they could throw at her.

Her appearance was fairly consistent with someone who'd been impaled with a sword and thrown around by a madman. Heavy layers of bandages were wound all around her upper body, extending down past her elbows and encircling her throat. Dark circles under her eyes and her hair was sticking out in all directions even more than usual.

kyro was abit worried when himura-san's eyes opened.

"oh! kombanwa himura-san. feeling any better?" asked kyro, not knowing if she could speak or not. the young gigai managed to push through the door at just that second, almost tripping but finally finding her feet and walking to raynes bed side.

"please continue gellente" said kyro with a gentle hand waving action.

he slid down from his perch on the cabinate. and leant over his patiant slightly. he didn't know what had happened in her fight, but kyro had not insight to the fact rayne had lost control of herself. he leaned untill it was obvious rayne could see him. or atleast make him out.

"Himura-san we've jsut injected you with a concotion of my own, that should boost your personal rietsu levels and increase the flow of blood around your body. unfortunatly this will me your wounds will seep a little, but we're hopeing that after that the wound would begin to heal on their own very rapidly, the injection also has anti anesthesia, witch is a mineral the allows the mind to wake up properly, so we should have you talking and thinking normaly soon."

while kyro had been distracting himura-san with the brief of what he was doing gellente had already pushed the injection in raynes arm. in about 5 minuets or so she should be able to move very slightly and speak normaly.

Ren finally made it to the kitchens and placed an order for the food Shinji had requested, as well as a few things for herself and something that would be suitable for a recovering drunk.

Then she headed back to Sayuri's room to wait for the food to turn up. When she got there she heard the sound of water running coming from the bathroom. She frowned

"Shinji would you mind checking that out. Neither of the patients is in any condition to be in the shower, and we can't afford to just leave the water running."

She turned to the patient who seemed to be fast asleep. She glanced briefly at the chart and assessed the girl's vitals, everything seemed fine. She headed to a cabinet near the bed and picked out a particular syringe, that she inserted into the vein in the nook of Sayuri's elbow. Then taking the girl's wrist she monitored her heartbeat.

"Right you should be waking up in three... two... one..."

Something jolted her awake, like an alarm clock but without the loud noise.

Still half-asleep, Sayuri could feel a headache already starting. Or maybe it never really went away. Keeping her eyes tightly closed, she groaned very softly and tried to curl up on her side.

Shinji headed towards to bathroom and lightly knocked on the door. No answer, whoever was in there was either to preoccupied to hear the knocking or just flat out ignored it. Shinji slowly opened the door, peaking only his head in through the opening. Shinji had hoped it was a female taking a nice, refreshing shower but to Shinji's disappointment it seemed to be a male.

Shinji could just barely make out a more masculine body through the foggy, glass doors. He noticed a torn Shinigami uniform in the disposal bin and called out, "Oi! Is that you in there Keiji?"

Guess I should actually shower now instead of just standing here...

"I'm fine," and closed her eyes again, drifting off to sleep.

Victory.

No official news had come her way yet, but she could feel it in her bones, in the resonating traces of a shinigami's reiatsu. For now there wasn't time to think about the consequences, or at what price their victory had come. It was nearly over and they were going to win. Rayne had triumphed. What she hadn't believed was possible stood right in front of her now, just waiting to be claimed. She was still soaring on a high from that fight, and imagining things to come. Happiness.

"Raijin, we did it. Things are gonna be different now. I feel different." Her chest swelled with pride and excitement, despite the drained and beaten condition of her body. A few more steps and she pressed her back against the wall, sliding down to rest in a crouch.

Strange, he didn't answer. Maybe he was tired. Drawing a long breath, Rayne tilted her head back to look at the sky, bounded by the edge of the wall up above her.

Within a blink of an eye a shadow sprouted from the ground, taking human shape. Another moment passed and the black form had filled out to something more corporeal, colors other than darkness painting the body. A blade that was amorphous as its owner shifted through phases of matter, smoking ebony, before it was sheathed. The sound was loud enough to be heard, but was soon replaced by the man's voice.

“Rayne Himura, neh?” a self-assuring beam came from the man. He ran a hand through his disheveled locks of black and purple-streaked hair, walking towards her with an air of ease, a pleasant tone quelling true intent. “Do you want to die like your friend?”

Back in 4th Division, in her room, beads of sweat started to form on Rayne's forehead.

Ren raised an eyebrow "Right, maybe he's one of those clean freaks from twelfth that you hear about all the time. I mean it's not like any of us have had a chance to shower since we've got back." She tried unsuccessfully to keep a note of bitterness out of her voice. She really liked to be clean.

There was a knock on the door and it was pushed open by a male shinigami wearing a frilly apron. He had a slight frown on his face, as though he wasn't really sure what he was supposed to be doing there. "Um, Taichou, the food you ordered is here. I took the liberty of bringing a pile of plates, since I thought perhaps you were feeding an army..."

Ren grinned "Nah just Shinji."

Comprehension dawned "Ah, well I'd best bring in the tray before he dies of hunger. My apologies Murasaki-fukutaichou."

The tray, piled high with all sorts of delicacies, wobbled gently as it entered the room. Ren could almost hear Shinji's muscles gearing up to start digestion. She stepped back to give him access to the tray.

The shinigami that had delivered the food gestured politely for her to come over "Now may not be the best time Taichou, but the events today have generated a large amount of paperwork that you really should file with the Central 46 offices as soon as possible."

Ren sighed "A captain's work is never done I guess." She swiped some food onto her plate, and headed towards the bathroom "Oi! Otowari-san, I have to head off, but if you could make sure to get some food into Sayuri for me, nothing too strong flavoured. I'd ask Shinji but he's... busy... If you need me at all I'll be in my office. Thanks for your help!"

She headed out of the room, not bothering to wave at Shinji, nothing would be getting through to him until he'd taken the edge off of his appetite. It was to be expected really.

She made it back to her office and sat down in front of the mound of paperwork that had mysteriously appeared on her desk. Glaring balefully at it she reached for a pen "Right you great bastard, let's get started."

As the food came in, Shinji couldn't hold back any longer. He passed by Ren and dived for the food, instantly grabbing a plate and filling it up with everything within reach. It seemed Ren had to depart early due to paperwork, he guessed that was one of the responsibilities of a captain. So that left Keiji still in the shower and Sayuri.

Shinji took a seat next to Sayuri, gulping down massive quantities of food. He glanced at Sayuri, "Where are my manners?" He quickly got up and grabbed the whole tray and came wobbling back to Sayuri's bedside. Shinji dragged over a small table and prepared numerous plates, "If yer healin' up it's good ta fill up yer stomach."

He placed the numerous plates and bowls on the table within Sayuri's reach and continued stuffing his mouth with food.

Keiji kept in mind what Takada asked of him as he finished up his shower. He quickly dried himself off and put on the yukata. Food actually sounded pretty appealing now, considering what a long day it had been.

Making his way out of the bathroom, he saw that the food had arrived already. And a lot of it at that. Was this really just to feed just the four of them? He watched with an amazed look at Shinji engulfing the food at an alarming rate. Or maybe most of it is just to feed one of us...

He walked to Sayuri's bed side, remembering Takada's request. She appeared to be sleeping. He nudged her gently on the shoulder with one of his hands, "Hey, you feel like eating anything?"

Sayuri had tried her best to ignore the increasing amounts of noise around her, simply concentrating on keeping her headache manageable.

The smell of food made her stomach churn. She cracked one eye open to see what was going on. To her alarm, her vision was blocked by a table full of various bowls and plates. Behind a particularly large bowl, she could recognise Shinji's face.

"Go 'way." She mumbled to him. "Wanna sleep."

Someone nudged her and asked her again about eating.

"Not hungry." She growled. Did no-one understand her? Then tried to calm her stomach by not breathing in.

"Awww come on don't be like that, ya had enough rest fer now. It's better ta fill up yer stomach."

Sayuri yelped as the room tilted suddenly. When she recovered, she found herself sitting up in bed, leaning against the wall and with a bowl of hot soup in her hands.

She glared blearily at Shinji. "If the soup's that good, drink it yourself. I. Am. Not. Hungry!"

She thought about throwing the bowl at Shinji, but her attention was caught by a familiar purple-haired man in the same room as her. Sayuri glared, then remembered his rank, sighed and looked elsewhere.

Why did she have to wake up to this? Sayuri stared sulkily at the spread of food in her room, and told her stomach to calm down.

"Why is there a picnic in my hospital room?" She complained.

Two against one, not fair. Wasn't bothering a patient against the rules? Sayuri thought sulkily, eyeing both men.

"If I eat a little bit, will you both let me sleep after?" Sayuri grumbled, annoyed at being forced to back down. She gestured at the heaping plate on her lap. "I can't finish that even when I'm healthy, so take it back."

So it would seem she remembered that...heres to hoping she doesn't find out anything about the position we were in afterwards...can't imagine what she would think about that...

He soon returned to an upright position and looked apologetically at Sayuri. "Ah about that, I must sincerely apologize. That irked her, because she only had a clearly false name to call this man by. Her suspicious nature was at war with her implicit trust in this man's good intentions, which was hard to ignore when this guy looked and felt so much alike;

Pushing herself to her feet, leaving a dark stain on the white wall behind her where her wounds from battle had been seeping, she faced the nonchalant man warily. Glancing quickly to either side of her, she realized with some trepidation that she was entirely alone. A black fever welled up on the palm of her clenched right hand. Just in case...

A single, pale-green eye peered out from behind a shroud of messy black bangs, darting from side to side and saw Kyro's still in the room with her. Sighing, the girl pressed herself up on tip-toes to peek out the room's only narrow window, to wistfully examine the patch of trees and sky she could see from there. It was almost a perfect state of misery for her to wallow in.

She took off the white robe she was wearing and put on her shinigami robe, not even bothered that a man is inside the room with her.

Discreetly, the girl hefted a large section of battered metal pipe from her bed. This'll be good. Nodding to herself, she silently made her way behind the 4th Division's Vice Captain, raised the pipe a bit higher, her tongue curling slightly over her lip as she concentrated on pooling her energy into the makeshift weapon. All at once she swung at his head and watched as Kyro fell on the floor, "Sorry, I can't let you ruin my plans."

She then turned around and noticed three medics surrounding her, preparing to deck one of them with her good arm. Someone had shut off the door, cutting off her route of escape and spoiling her plan.

"Do you even know who I am?" She shouted, swinging her fist at the nearest man, who ducked it by inches. Ugh. She followed through with a kick, which landed this time and sent the medic flying.

"You see? Look at how healthy I am. Now let me go!" The girl bellowed, rounding on the other two medics while the third slowly sat up, groaning. "Please just calm down, ma'am. We're only here to help y--" The man's words were cut off as a charging headbutt caught him in the chest.

"Two down, one to go!" Rayne declared triumphantly, facing the third healer who was now rapidly pressing buttons on his phone.

Ren turned to answer Keiji when she heard a defening crash coming from the room adjoining Sayuri's. She paused in the middle of reaching for the door "Um, I should probably mention, your fukutaichou seemed angry."

She pulled open the door in time to see said fukutaichou surrounded by unconscious medics, a pipe in one hand, a zanpaktou in the other. Ren didn't even stop to think, faster than a blink she moved into the room, grabbed one of Rayne's wrist in either hand and drove her knee into the girl's stomach.

Just as Rayne entered that euphoric state where the underpants in her grip pulled to the tightest point and her victim's wails became shrillest, something went wrong, a kick on her stomach pushed her free from the healer's contorted body while he let a sigh of relief, leaving the pigtailed Vice Captain stranded and only able to turn her neck to catch sight of her assailant.

"You!" she nearly spat, as she recognized the enemy: Ren Takada. Takada...? She couldn't help wondering at the name, now.

"Let me go. I'm just on my way to kill someone. Don't mess with me, lady, my mood is worse than normal."

Ren still hadn't let go of the girl's wrists. She wasn't angry, eleventh division visits to fourth made her angry, having her sake stash moved mad her angry. She was furious. This child had just attacked the very staff that had been healing her only moments ago. Even eleventh squad had more class.

"You're going to kill someone?" Her tone was positively nice, which should have been the first clue that something was wrong. "Who are you going to kill?" She asked pleasantly as she bent the girl's wrists back far enough that both of them popped with a noise she found entirely satisfactory. "And why, pray tell, have you just incapacitated three, sorry four, of my ducklings?"

In her weakened state Rayne could only struggle faintly against Ren's unyielding grasp, an angry glare still fixed on her expression. Inside the 4th was the last place she wanted to be going, except maybe back to the house she used to have with her friends in Rukongai. Going inside the 4th meant she was admitting weakness. She was admitting she wasn't strong enough to change anything.

"Shut up. Well, it's none of your business." The abrasive white lighting in the room made her eyes squint into narrow slits, the harsh illumination giving her the feeling as if she were already under scrutiny. The air had that hospital smell too, making her feel sick to her stomach and bothering her more than even her most serious injuries.

Ren let the pleasant face vanish. "Have it your way." She increased the pressure on the girl's wrists until, with the sickening sound of bone breaking, they snapped. "Now that we understand one another. You will explain to me why you have attacked members of my division, Himura-fukutaichou."

"You wanna know what happened? It's obvious, right? We fought, and these losers lost. That's all there is."

"Hrmph." Rayne sighed, allowing Ren to do her poking and prodding without too much interference. A number of the old wounds she had suffered had opened up as well, thanks to that bastard Daichi, but the worst of it was the fresh gash splitting the skin on her wrists.

Keiji never received an answer from Ren as she went off to inspect his fukutaichou's room. Well...not the answer he was expecting anyway. "She's angry?" He followed Ren as she headed into the room, and what he saw was nothing sort of shocking.

It appeared as if his fukutaichou had knocked out four of the medical staff in the room, including the 4th division vice captain Kyro. He witnessed her subsequent apprehension by Takada and the words that followed. She wants to kill someone? Who?

He walked up to two, "Himura, what has become of you?" he asked in a worried tone.

"What do you expect? I'm sure you heard all the rumours anyway. You're mine to kill," she hissed at Otowari Keiji as Ren hit a particular tender spot. Her head was swimming a little, probably from the smell of disinfectant.

The girl's mood seemed to be caught in a continual downward spiral, leaving her so dark and despondent that she wasn't even putting up a fight against being held by Ren.

"And you think you can fool me with your act? Stop pretending like you're worried about me! You are so like him!"

Her shoulders slumped, her arms dangling limp at her sides, she made a completely pathetic picture that was completely apart from the terror-inspiring one she normally presented.

Shinji slowly peaked into the room, he saw Rayne subdued by Ren and Keiji. Unconscious bodies cluttered the room including the 4th division vice captain, Kyro.

She wants me dead? Now this one was something that truly puzzled the 12th division captain. The situation certainly didn't look like a good one.

"Wait wait, hold on. I've just met you today, what are you talking about? I can't say I understand why you would want me dead. Who's him?"

Respect...? Rayne blinked vaguely at Ren, unsure of what to expect as the woman shook her by the shoulders. Her body was so attuned to the ravages of battle, it didn't particularly occur to her in this state. Her present injuries were far from being bad, on her personal scale.

That and she'd always had a certain antipathy with the 4th division, which had really been worse in the past. Suffice to say, painkillers hadn't generally been on the menu when they did find a need to heal her friend.

"Oh, it's you." The girl's look changed to a slightly more interested one as she turned and recognized the man standing in front of her.

Her eyes slitted, she craned her neck to glare at her Captain. He really should suffer, "All you losers, leave me alone," she spoke after a few sputtering coughs, shrugged off from Ren's grasp and made a tentative move towards the door. She let out a scream as tried to stand up, grabbing a handful of Otowari's haori as she began to topple.

Ren let the girl shove her off, but she wasn't letting her get anywhere near Otowari. Well not while she was in fourth anyway.

Rather than unsheath her sword in her own division, with her mood the way it was her reiatsu would in no way be under control, she chose to do things the old fashioned way. She kicked Rayne in the side of the head, sending her flying into a wall.

"Much as I can empathise with wanting to kill your own captain, if you're going to do it you're not going to do it here. Especially after Kyro took so much time to fix you, then you beat him up and made me make you broken again. Why don't you just calm down and heal, then if you still want to kill Otowari-san you can challenge him properly in front of your squad."

rayne_himura
05-28-2008, 01:36 PM
Rayne roused blurrily after hitting her back on the wall, to find herself bleeding from the mouth, save for an unidentifiable streak of someone peeking through the door, Shinji

"Bitch..." she muttered, wiping blood from the corners of her mouth, trying to piece together what had happened. It occured to her she was rubbing with her left arm too, which had previously been immobile. This is great, she thought to herself, believing the results to be purely a result of the medication.

It was embarrassing, had she really been beaten by Ren in front of Otowari? Taking a mental note, she decided she certainly wouldn't go back in the 4th if she were forced to come here again. Sneaky, double crossers. All of these healer types.

At least her zanpakutou was there, leaning on the wall beside the door. Breathing a sigh of relief Rayne crawled to retrieve the weapon, her knees still wobbling as she bent to snatch it up. Weaving back and forth, the girl's blurry sight picked out once again the captain of the 12th division.

"Bugger off. I'm not going to explain my actions to all you clowns."

She turned to Keiji "In the near future you will be recieving a summons for one Rayne Himura to stand trial for the assault of members of fourth division, with the recommendation that she be removed from active duty until her mental stability can be confirmed."

She paused "Otowari you seem to have no idea what is going on here, so I'll give you and the rest of twelfth the benefit of the doubt. I'm going to my office now to address a missive to the Central 46 detailing this incident. Please deal with your subordinate, and if she offers an adequate explanation as to her actions you may be able to persuade me to keep this just between us."

Rayne's breath puffed out with an Oof! as she tumbled, landing on the padded cot. Oh, the things she would do once she could move around properly!

Still clutching her oversized sword in hand, she glared at the medic from her prone position. She didn't want to admit it, but she did feel much better. Even the thought itself was like a betrayal and utterly insulting to her pride as a warrior. Ah, but now there were only thoughts of retribution, on Ren and Otowari both.

"Ah, so you want me gone from my position huh? Act of cowardice, you know? It's all the more reason to get even. I wanted to leave but those losers stopped me, if they didn't they wouldn't be in that kind of state right now," the girl grinned, not at all bothered by the reaction of Ren and her Captain. She was used to acting with impunity.

"Besides, it's not like I killed them. I just like to be extra cruel in the name of 'helping'." Her brow arched, as Ren continued her little speech to Otowari. Not at all angelic, are you!

She was curious to see what Ren might procure if provoked in such a thing. "Hmm... I'm just talking about a taste of they're own medicine, you know? Pick them apart like I do to everyone who gets in my way, I know it's possible. It's just something that might take a team effort, if they want to beat me, fufu."

She gave the girl a measuring look "Nonetheless I admire your courage to say them to my face. I'm almost tempted to let you away with just a warning for that, but then what kind of mother would I be to my ducklings?"

"Oh and just remember, it might take a group of them to subdue you, but it'd only take one of me. I move very fast when I want to, and thanks to the recent incidents I now know the layout of your division."

I apologize on her and my behalf. She should be restrained for the time being until the effects wears off," he paused and looked at the 12th captain, "she isn’t accountable for her actions right now and I am sure she will apologize for it later, with your permission I will take her to a more secure place for her to rest and clear her blood from mine…the maggot nest perhaps? for a short while of course."

All too quickly that time-locked moment was shattered, thrusting Rayne into the present. One moment she was mocking the 4th's Captain and the next thing she knew, a huge tail wrapped itself around her. "You got me, huh." The girl breathed. She knew she stood no chance against this power.

The vice-captain's trembling hand tried to raise her weapon, but this shaking wasn't an aspect of her fear.

"Pathetic, aren't you. Giving up so easily after all. The truth is you didn't want to lose yourself, no one will care if you die anyway."

SHUT UP.

The tail that was in Rayne's mouth penetrated through that inner point, widening it into a larger hole that she seemed to observe at a passive distance. Ah... He cut right through the soul sleep. The girl's lips moved slowly, but she had no breath to speak with. She wanted to tell Otowari that it wasn't his fault, that she doesn't hate him; the shock of her spiritual power being shattered had awakened the whole string of memories.

Her fingers slipped from their hold on her sword, leaving her body in his arms. She glanced outside the window and saw the sky above filling with the black shapes of birds, the multitudes of their wings beating the air into a frenzy.

I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. Rayne pleaded a last wish only heard by her silent companion, Kumokasumi, who was carried along beside her into the darkness.

For being stuck in the hospital, Katai (http://www.bleachasylum.com/showthread.php?p=490237#post490237) was having a surprisingly pleasant day. For members of the 11th division, being stuck under the care of 4th division was usually not a happy prospect. Katai had even heard horror stories from his squad mates about a nameless woman they all referred to as the "Oni". Apparently she specialized in giving care to 11th squad members.

But for whatever reason, Katai had not gotten the Oni. Instead he had gotten an extremely nice and very attractive healer named Shiyumi. He certainly had no problems with her giving him an exam. Though he kind of wished he had a more impressive reason for being there. After a long mission in the human world, a half-dead Hollow had managed to hit him in the right foot with some sort of corrosive posion. Even though the 4th sqaud had managed to regrow it, there would be a permament scar left on Katai's ankle.

So at the moment, Shiyumi was busy examining his right foot, making sure everything had healed properly. Unfortunately, Katai suffered from slightly strange looking toes and a minor foot odor issue.

"Everything look alright? Will I be able to move properly without any issues?", he asked, while trying to think of the best way to flirt with her. "You're fine, you shouldn't have any mobility problems at all," came Shiyumi's reply. All perfectly polite, but business-like. If Katai wanted to make a move, he'd have to do it soon. "You're discharged, and free to leave at any time. But before you go, I understand you were in the human world for a long time. Has anyone briefed you on what's going on in Soul Society?"

Before Katai could answer, the door to his room opened rather violently. In came.... her! A massive woman, with a terrible expression on her face, it could only be the one he had been warned about. The Oni! The way she looked at Katai made him nearly tremble in fear.

"Oh, Fifteenth. I already finished discharging him already, so you aren't needed here." Katai uttered a silent but fervant prayer of thanks for Shiyumi, his wonderful healer and savior. The massive woman she called " Fifteenth" went back into the hall without saying anything, but as she started to walk off she grumbled something. Katai couldn't catch everything, but he was certain he heard the words "won't get away" and "prostate". Katai felt a mixture of confusion, hilarity, and horror. And oddly enough: curiosity.

Quickly rushing out of the room with a hasty farewell to Shiyumi, he caught up to the giant of a woman and asked her to wait. She glared at him with a stare that would probably cause a Hollow to freeze in place. Katai chuckled nervously. "Uh, excuse me, miss. Are you... are you trying to find someone at the moment? If so, maybe I can help." He wasn't certain why he was doing this, but he thought it might make an amusing diversion after spending months in the human world.

The Oni considered him carefully, then grunted a reply. "Keiji. Otowari Keiji, 12th division captain. He ran out on an exam." 12th division? Katai had to wonder what Keiji had done to incure the the wrath of squad 4. He then realized that he had never actually heard of this Keiji before. What had happened to the previous captain? Well, Shiyumi had mentioned something about "what's going on in Soul Society".

Katai considered his options briefly. If he looked for this Keiji, he might just be making an enemy of a captain. On the other hand, if he didn't, this woman would remain hostile to him. Actually, considering that he had taken the time to interupt her search, she would probably be especially hostile to him. It took about 2 seconds for Katai to realize which prospect was more frightning. "If you'd like the help, I'll see if I can find him."

After rushing around the 4th division blindly, with only a basic description of the man he was looking for, Katai heard a rather loud commotion coming from a ways off. By the time he had reached the source, he could see the man who must be his target carrying an unfamiliar woman out of the 4th division. He had taken her from a giant lizard wearing a Shinigami uniform. And standing near them was another woman Katai didn't recognize. But he recognized her captain's uniform. And she didn't seem to be in a very good mood either.

"Oh ****!"

Ren happily let the giant lizard go, but suddenly found herself with a giant bucket of weird looking blood, its enzymes rapidly denaturing in the open air. She needed to get it to analysis as quickly as possible, if the lizard's story checked out then she'd have to give Rayne the benefit of the doubt. This time anyway...

Unfortunately as well as having a bucket of blood, she also had a group of unconscious medics that she need to get fixed up. She stuck her head out the door, the hallway seemed to have miraculously emptied, probably due to her squad hearing the sound of her kicking someone into a wall. It really was frustrating how timid they all were sometimes.

The only people nearby were Fifteenth, now glaring slightly at Ren for letting her prize escape, and a guy who by his association with the woman Ren would guess was in Eleventh division. She waved them down.

"You two. Get in here and assist me."

She suddenly remembered that in a pair of adjoining rooms, at least one would have a refridgerator. She popped next door to Sayuri's and sure enough there it stood. Happily she shoved the bucket of blood into it, only spilling a small amount. She turned to the girl in the bed "Don't let anything happen to that."

Then she went back into the other room to fix up the rest of her squad.

Katai soon realized the scene before him was even weirder than he thought at first. He had initially failed to notice that the captain was holding a bucket of lizard blood. Also, there were a bunch of unconscious medics scattered around. His pondering on the strange scene was interupted, though, when the squad 4 captain gave him an order.

"You two. Get in here and assist me."

Two? Who else was she talking about? It didn't take long for Katai to find out, as the imposing figure of the demon woman known as Fifteenth soon became visible to him. Great, she had witnessed his failure to catch Keiji. Why had he involved himself in this again?

Katai didn't know what the captain expected of him, as she must surely know he wasn't a member of her squad. Maybe she wanted him to help move the unconscious medics to a different place. While she went into a nearby room, he went over to one of the medics and kneeled down. This wasn't really his job, but he didn't feel like doing anything to antagonize this unknown captain. Plus, if he wanted to ask Shiyumi out later, he could use anything that would help improve his standing with squad 4. Not to mention, a captain would certainly know about whatever weird events were happening in Soul Society.

As the squad 4 captain returned, he asked her, "Your orders, captain...?"

Ren leant down and sent a quick reiatsu probe into the skull of the first medic. Finding no obvious damage she motioned for the unknown shinigami to come over "Pick him up and take him to an empty room, 107 should be free, it's just down the hall to the left." She moved on to the next two and repeated the process, then gave Fifteenth a similar order.

She finished up by looking at Kyro, it really wasn't his day today. She hoisted him up over one shoulder and headed for another room that her memory told her was empty.

Katai grunted slightly as he lifted the medic near him. It wasn't that large of a man, but he still took a fair amount of effort to lift. Following the instructions he had been given, Katai headed down the hall and into room 107, finding out that it was indeed empty. It took him a little while to get the guy properly set up: he wasn't used to this sort of thing. But at last the medic was lying on the bed in a position that looked fairly comfortable and natural.

As Katai went back into the hall, he nearly ran right into Shiyumi. "Oh, Katai, you left so quickly I didn't have time to talk to you. You were delirious when brought in so no one had an opportunity to tell you just how dangerous things are right now and - uh, what were you doing just now anyways?" She had a definite tone of suspicion in her voice as she asked her question.

"Oh, that? I'm lending a helping hand. You know squad 11, we're legendary for our kindness and goodwill." Katai chuckled slightly at the last statement. "Just following the orders of your captain. By the way, she must have been appointed while I was gone, who is she?"

Nothing he said had anything close to the effect he intended. "Really? I thought squad 11 was only legendary for groping at anything remotely female while screaming for more saki." Shiyumi said this as though it was in jest, but there was a note of genuine bitterness to it. "Great, seems she has had some unpleasant experiences with my squad. I like being part of squad 11, but sometimes its reputation can be annoying."

"And as for Takada-taichou..." Shiyumi glanced down the hall, and her face darkened. Katai even thought he saw fear in her eyes. But before she could continue with whatever she was going to say, Fifteen arrived and rather quickly shooed her away. Towering over Katai, the fiend spoke several rather terse sentences, pausing for emphathis after each one.

"I see you failed to find Keiji. Incidentally, I arrived at the scene before you, though I don't think you noticed. Had I not been stopped by you in the hall, I might have made it there in time."

In the brief silence after each sentence, Katai interjected such meaningful and insightful words as "Umn", "Hmm", and "Err." He did not like the way things were going. Even though he had tried to help, it seemed Fifteen was going to blame him for the fact that Keiji-taichou got away. At the moment, she seemed like she was trying to slowly force him back into the room, where he would be alone with her aside from the unconsious man in the bed.

Katai frantically looked around for a way to escape. He caught a glimpse of a tall, lanky man he didn't recognize. This man didn't look like he wanted to be noticed, actually, but Katai didn't care. "Hey!", he yelled as he ran towards the man's location, intending to make up some excuse to talk to him.

Shinji heard someone call after him, he quickly turned around to take a look at who it was, "Ehh I dunno that guy." he thought.

As he approached Shinji he asked, "Yeah, whaddya need?"

The man had a badge indicating that he was the vice-captain of squad 6. This could be good or bad. Katai could sense the ogre woman behind him, waiting to see if he had a good reason for suddenly rushing over, so he didn't have much time to think. "Uh, sorry, I thought you were someone I recognized." "Gah, what a pathetic lie!"

Trying to keep the conversation going, Katai quickly tried to think of something else to say. "Uh, anyways, I am Tegowai Katai from squad 11, and I just came back from a 6 month mission in the real world. I have been informed that there have been some very unpleasant events happening, and that it is not safe for me to leave the 4th division without knowing about them." Katai than smiled and continued, "Actually, considering that I just finished dealing with one of several people who had apparently been attacked right here, it may not be very safe for me even inside the 4th division." As he made the comment about not being safe inside the 4th, he gave a subtle jerk of his head in the direction of the beast woman. Hopefully this squad 6 vice had a sense of humor.

"Since you are a vice-captain, I assume you are fully aware of what is happening, so if you could take the time to inform me, I would appreciate it." Katai's eyes were silently pleading the following: "Please save me!"

Suddenly Katai realized something horrible. The man in front of him was wearing a scarf that identified him as a noble. And the Tegowai "family" from Rukongai was almost utterly despised by a lot of nobles.

"Hahaha." laughed Shinji as he looked towards the beastly healer of the 4th. "Tegowai Katai huh?" responded Shinji, "Well I'm Murasaki Shinjiro, jus' call me Shinji. Yeah since yer back from yer mission it's best ya know that there's a killer on the loose." Shinji took a seat on the floor patting the ground next to him, indicating Katai to sit next to him. "This killer is knowledgeable in tha spirit's composition an' structure, he also seems ta make clones of tha people he's killed."

Shinji sighed, "It's pretty serious, ya should be glad ya asked someone."

As Shinji talked a bit more, it became quite clear from both his manners and way of speaking that he wasn't a typical noble. Even peasants adopted into noble familes usually developed similiar stuffy and conceited manners, according to what little experience Katai had. But Shinji was definitely not like that. Katai couldn't help but breathe an audible sigh of relief as he sat down.

The beast seemed to sense he would be there a while, and headed over to where her captain was, probably to see if she could provide more assistance. Unfortunately, Shiyumi saw that Katai was going to learn what he needed to and also left the area. It was a pity, but Katai realized that he had little chance with her anyways. Despite her kindness when taking care of him or her obvious concern that he know about what was going on, she clearly didn't like squad 11.

Something Shinji said jolted Katai to awareness, and he realized he should probably be paying a bit more attention to what was being said. "Clones?! The killer is copying the people he kills?" Katai realized he had essentially just repeated the exact same thing he had been told, but in an excited voice, and therefore calmed down a bit and began to listen intently.

Ren noticed Fifteenth coming to help and told her to keep an eye on Kyro. She headed back out into the hall, only to see Shinji talking to the guy from Eleventh. Her eyes narrowed and she headed over "Shinji I thought you were done abusing my hospitality? Don't tell me you've been here the whole time."

She sat down next to him, pulling off her new haori and making it into the usual pillow. "Anyway keep talking, don't worry about me, it's been a long day."

"Hehe Ren! Whatta surprise, well I jus' got back from uhh ya know tha... ferget it. I'll jus' continue where I left off then."

Shinji thought for a moment, "Now where was I? Yes, the killer is at large an' has access ta 12th division technology, we jus' managed ta get back Himura Rayne, the vice capt'n of tha 12th, an' escaped from this barrier thingy. It's really been a long day."

Shinji sighed then quickly continued, "If ya see anyone from pictures of deceased shinigami ya should let us know. So far only people from 4th, 6th, and 12th have been attacked but the killer may widen his sights an' attack others. I'm pretty sure my capt'n, Ito, has the pictures an' is leading' an investigation."

Forehead still resting on her knees, Sayuri tried to get enough rest to settle her headache and stomach. Unfortunately the rest of the world didn't let her. There were sounds of fighting and shouting from the next room, and a strangely familiar reiatsu.

Just as suddenly, the noises stopped. Takada-taichou invaded her room just to dump a bucket of... blood?... into the small refrigerator. The added smell made her stomach rebel.

Sayuri fled to the bathroom (barely avoiding the dirty plates littering the floor) just in time to empty her stomach, then sat on the cold floor and pressed a button to call for someone to clean up her room, and bring something to help her sleep.

Upon hearing yet another unfamiliar name in a captain's spot, Katai couldn't help but wonder what was causing the sudden influx of new people. Then he thought about things for a second, and realized that it was the 4th, 6th, and 12th divisions the killer had been targeting, according to Shinji. And it was those same 3 divisions that all had new captains.

"What? All those divisions have captains that are different from when I left for the living world, don't tell me the killer has been taking out captains! And duplicating them too.... wow, is that why Shiyumi was so terrified when I asked what happened to the previous 4th division captain?"

(OOC: Poor Katai, no idea what he's poking his nose into...)

When 2 members of her medic team entered the room, Sayuri was still sitting on the bathroom floor. Her stomach was still feeling somewhat unpleasant, and she had no wish to walk back into the filthy litter currently strewn about her room.

She watched the alarmed looks on the healers' faces and realised what they must be thinking.

"No, I didn't faint in the bathroom." Sayuri reassured. "What did you bring?" The male healer handed her a little packet, from which Sayuri could see a few syringes.

"Thank you, exactly what I needed." She offered them a small tired smile. "I should wake up in about 3 hours. And just like the last time, please have a small bowl of plain rice, tea and very diluted juice waiting for me?

The female healer nodded. "Of course, Sayuri-san. Are you feeling better?"

"What's with the party in here?" The male healer asked, a frown creasing his brow.

"Not really, and I don't know." Sayuri sighed morosely. "When I woke up, they were already eating. Can you please help to clear the filth from my room? The smells make me very sick."

She remembered something else. "There is a bloodstain there too, please clean it up, place a lock around the refrigerator and give the key to Takada-taichou."

Sayuri eyed their curious looks and smiled tiredly again. "Long story. When I'm feeling better, I'll tell, okay?"

Both healers nodded again and left the bathroom. Sayuri closed her eyes and listened to them clear up the mess.

"Ehh? Who's Shiyumi, yer girlfriend?" Shinji said, a smirk forming on his face. "Anyways, so far no capt'ns have been killed but the 12th division captain was injured badly."

(OOC: Sorry I'm so late in responding, was unsure if you were talking to me or Hiraeth.)
