most likely one of the most helpless countries in the middle east, a battle field for other countries, a puppet for diffrent masters. lebanon is special in the way that its demographic groups are pretty diverse and christians and druze are not as small as in other countries. non the less islam is still the largest group in lebanon.

for many years lebanon was the center of warfare. civil war that brought in both israel and syria, and in recent years iran. untill several years ago syria still held vast territories in lebanon while forcing their power on lebanon, it took the life of many anti syrian activist for the world to demend syrian withdraw.

in the last year a new problem rised, the iran backed hizzbullah had brought a 3rd war with israel, causing massive damage to the country and their loyelty to lebanon is questioned, maybe they care more for their iranian supporters? the current govrement and hizzbullah clash politicly to decide the future of lebanon, the west lapdog or iran-syria lapdog. the future is bad.

as of right now open fighting rage in beirut and the militery refuse to stop it.

so what do you think will happen in the future? will hizzbullah will win and a new round of warfare with israel will begin or will the hizzbullah lose to the lebannese will and army and outside interference would come to a halt?

the future of lebaonon is going to be what ver side can bring in the most aid, Israel will not be interveing in the conflict after the last backlash. as long as the money flows in to hezbollah won't give up i hope they don't win, I don't think the Israeli and Lebanese people can take another war. the hezbollah terrorist organization needs to be stooped. I don't want to see another war. but i m thinking that Lebaonon will be center of the conflict in the near future with ehud olmert scandal, many anlyst belive that the peace talks will break down, and Israel will resume full combat operations agianst hamas. I really can't say this is true or not

well hamas and lebanon are diffrent things, i dont think israel is about to enter lebanon, we did that before to stop other groups who used the country as they wish and nothing happend. i see no reason for israel to intervine in the current conflict. if hizzbalaah wins then its lebanon problem and its time they take responsiability for their actions (or rather lack of actions) if this will bring to another war with israel in a year or so when hizzbulla will take over then it will be considered a war between lebanon(since hizzbullah will be the rulers) and israel.

for over 20 years lebanon allowed for a country inside a country, such lack of control over your land will only bring disaster.

I myself is a Lebanese, and to be frankly speaking, from what I know, and experienced, unless Iran stopped funding and sending weapons and reinforcments to Hizbulla, he will never quit, and to even think the the Lebanese army is a match to Hizbulla is too dull, Hizbulla is backed up with powerful weapons from Iran, and all the Lebanese army has some tanks, and some weapons, but not powerful as Hizbulla's (Iran's).

and if you followed the recent news you might have heard how the opposition to hizzbbulla in lebanon become more and more weak and fractured, frankly i dont think that the internal forces in lebanon can stop lebanon from becoming shiite and iran puppet, the result is obvious, there would be more wars and death.

pretty sad because among the countries in the middle east, lebanon is so much more advanced and its seems that it will be over soon.

True, I used to have some frnds, who liked Hizbullah, but as they started to trigger the civil war, and their attack on Tarik El-Jdeda, they didnt like Hizbulla anymore as before, and beside most of the Lebanese think tht Hizbulla is showing his true colors now, and that he is the puppet of Iran.
