at 286 chapters (as of this post) berserk is an absolute masterpiece of dark fantasy, I'm sure most people have at least heard of it though the number of people who've actually read it might be rather less. Its a seinin manga and some scenes might be considered a bit disturbing to some people but the artwork is fantastic and always amazingly detailed.

Its set in a large and encapsulating world with a complex and intriguing plot, following its main character Gutts as he struggles against causality, the apostles and the godhand themselves.

I want to see a second season for the anime . Its a wonderful story and the chracters are developed beautifully

I haven't read the manga for about two years but it still sounds like it hasn't gotten very far from where I left off :\. Seriously, Miura is so slow. Sucks that he is that slow because I really like this series.

Yeah this would be my no.1 manga if it came out regularly. It is a really awesome story and is so detailed. I do wish they made more of the anime :/

My fave character has to be Griffith one of the most well rounded antagonist ever seen . I can understand the logic behind his motives or madness . He never became evil Griffith was always self centered from the start

Agree. Although, I still prefer Aji Tae when it comes to antagonists. Hard to explain if you haven't read Shin Angyo Onshii.

Berserk is almost a perfect manga. Nothing more to add...epic story, great characters, incredible antagonist and beautiful art.

Now, the only thing left to hope is that I wont be turning 55 around chapter 300.

Well Griffith is one of the greatest Antagonists of all of Mangadom, he is complex, yet understandable.

i've stopped reading this (finished at around the time when gatts is fighting that huge fire demon guy or whatever)

it was worth it for the long ass flashback sequence though, the writing and art was pure gold.

"Overrated" describes Berserk probably best, for sure, the FB-Arc was great, but afterwards... not really anything I would recommend to read, maybe the Lost-children-Arc (Freakshow!) and the Resurrection-Arc (I love Farnese & Serpico, Serpico has a great FB), but afterwards, just pure fail, Mioura just don't know anymore where to go with his pLot.
