well ... the fact is it was made popular by funtwo since he put the cover on youtube before JerryC did :p ... JerryC actually stated on the news he is happy that funtwo did the cover and made the song a hit. It means that his work is being acknowledged and that it encourages him to improve. JerryC himself also stated that funtwo played the song well ^^

As to who plays it better? Well ... I'll have to vote for JerryC. Why? Because he arranged the piece originally, he knows the piece inside out, and if you listen to both versions enough times, you'll notice that the JerryC version has alot more energy, and feelings in it ... making the song lively. It all comes down to who has more attachment to the piece, and bring out a whole different mood ^^

Well, he's an obviously talentful guitarist, but you know, there always is a guy better than you, playing his cheap guitar in his small room, recording it with a very cheap webcam, and that guy plays insane.

Which, once again makes it visible that, creativiness, vision of art, mastery over music anathomy (and sometimes, imho, theory) and of course, having guts to try new things, are the things that make you a successful (not better, but successful) guitarist, rather than playing it very well and just that.

Of course, I'm not saying doing those are easy or something, JerryC is a pretty good guitarist, and a creative one too.

By the way, original song of the "Canon Rock" was already played in neo-classical style by Yngwie Malmsteen way before JerryC and others.

After hearing that guy's version, Yngwie Malmsteen and JerryC, I must say I like Yngwie and JerryC' version better (although they are both very different from each other). =)
But he's certainly talented and if he continues to work, no doubt he can make it (if he can actually write music, that's it).
