View Full Version : A couple of questions about 167...

Alright, I just have a few questions, primarily about episode 167.
First of all, if Adjuchas-form Grimmjow "ate" Shawlong, D-Roy, and the gang...Then how, exactly, did they eventually get turned into Arrancar (presumably by Aizen)?
Also, did Grimmjow, then, ever become a Vasto Lorde (since he and they mention him transcending to the next level)? Or did he remain an Adjuchas when he was Arrancar-ized? I remember this being the general concensus, but I cannot recall why...
I feel like I'm forgetting a question that I had, so stayed tuned for a post later to clarify! Thanks a lot to anyone with answers!!!

The point Shawlong was trying to make was that he and his team have reached the limit of their power growth, and he wanted Grimmjow to eat a part of them so that they could not regress and lose that power. Example: when Grimmjow ate a part of D-Roy he could no longer gain any extra power, but he couldn't lose it either.
Maybe it's a translation thing but that's how it was supposed to come out.
As for your second question: I think it's obvious Grimm is still an adjucha. When he mentioned going to the next level, he was talking about continuing his hunt. He was determined to succeed and called everyone else cowards for giving up. If he did at some point evolve to a vasto lorde, I think they would have showed it, and I think Grimmjow would have obtained a new non-panther form.

Absolutely, that's great. Thank you for the clarifications.
I remember back when the actual manga chapter came out, the concensus was that, "OK, Grimmjow is not a Vasto Lorde, so who is?"
However, watching the actual episode I realized that they never actually clarified that he did not eventually make it. I do agree with you though, that he likely remained an Adjuchas.
What is anyone else's take on his status? Everybody still think Adjuchas, or do we have some (Grimmjow fan-guys/gals excluded) who think he made it to Vasto Lorde-level?

I like Grimmjow but he's most likey just a High-tier Adjucas that could have or can still become a VL arrancar, however, Grimm right now is probably strong as a non arrancar VL when in his released form.

He is definitely high-level Adjuca. When we see a VL we will definitely know. Especially since they have been hyped.

Grimmjow only ate a part of themselves, not completely.

I'd say Grimmjow most likely only made it to the Adjunchas stage because...er, well...
manga spoilers (in case some only watch the anime :whoops)
I'd say Grimmjow is only an Adjunchas since he is one rank below Nnoitra--whom I'm also believe is an Adjunchas since he was only ranked 8 in the past. I'd guess even a newly-"born" Vasto Lorde arrancar would have strength that transcends that of an Adjunchas, so even if the case was Nnoitra being "new" or whatever, I think he'd get a higher rank. Anyway, that's the gist of why I think that of Grimmjow. Although it would be interesting if he did turn out to be a VL :hm

The Vasto Lorde have been hyped up for a while now, and, as such, I don't think they'll reveal one to us unless it's explicitly stated (like they do with a lot of previously secretive, surprise issues). I highly doubt it will be implicit or will have to be interpreted.
In my own personal opinion, I think it would be rather lackluster if Grimmjow turned out to be a Vasto Lorde. However, it might neat if he figured out a way to transcend his current level, perhaps to Vasto Lorde.
Remember, currently he's one of the top five favorite characters in Bleach (#4, I believe) -- he isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I have no doubt Grimmjow will somehow get healed and he'll go off on a mission to become a Vasto Lorde and fulfill his destiny. Then come back with a new power and maybe fight along side Ichigo; kinda like Renji after his Ichigo fight and he went on to get bankai. Who knows, maybe the fight with Ichigo is already turning him into a Vasto Lorde.
