anbody know of any freeware that takes screenshots from avi files and other files?
this is a serious problem i got here
the one i was using just stop working and giving this error-

It's an easy to use media player that can take all the screen shots you want. And it's free. It's easy to set up and just look at the controls to find out how to take screens shots.

i second wat velius said... vlc is probably the best software that ould be used to take screenshotz.. even i use it..

only problem i have with that program
is...tyring to get the pictures i want without missing them

watch the episode straight through first and mark what you want to take a pic of then got through a second time and pause and take the pic.

A little late, I suppose, but what I do is, I take the screenshot once, paste it on paint, and then take a screen shot of that. That works for me most of the time, unless you're taking the entire screen.

Virtual Dub.

You can capture a determinated frame scene, and every picture/frame from that scene you selected will go to the folder you choosed.

You can crop the pictures and everything in case you don't want subtitles on it.
