Metal Gear Solid V: The phantom pain

Not sure if everyone remembers but a few months back there was a game announced Called The Phantom Pain, Which The internet, thought was Metal Gear Solid V, Well at GDC It was officialy announced,

It also seems like ground Zero is the same game? This bit I'm not to sure of, I don't know if its a separate game or prologue like they did in Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal gear Solid 3?

Watched the stream yesterday. Joakim Mogren is just Hideo Kojima with a mask (which was painfully obvious ever since that interview with a cgi Mogren) and it was officially stated "Ground Zeroes + The Phantom Pain = Metal Gear Solid V". So yeah - they are the same game.

I'm curious about one specific point since they had an in-depth presentation of the FOX engine afterwards and apparently one of the characters in MGS5 is an over 100 years old man (not The End though). Identity was not revealed to avoid spoilers.

The trailer also further strengthens my believe in the theory that Kazuhira Miller = Revolver Ocelot.

I'm pumped! Metal Gear Solid is one of my favorite video game franchises and i can't wait to get my hands on it. The graphics of course are amazing. The whole thing with Big Boss hallucinating seems really interesting to me, i wonder if he only hallucinates in that part or if he has hallucinations all throughout the game.. if thats the case im pretty excited to see what happens. I'm with the majority of people who dont like the fact that David Hayter wont have his voice in the game.. its just not a MGS game without him, but i trust Hideo Kojima has a reason why they didnt contact him.

^ I agree (not the "this game means nothing to me" part but it was a major dissapointment that they fired David). David did such an amazing job as voice actor that I was glad that we had no german dub and now this....

However I'm still pumped for this game. I grew up with the MG franchise, I love Kojima's love for easter-eggs (nearly 3/4 of the official game guide's where easter eggs and how to find them lmao) + the Fox engione. i'm sick of the unreal engine. I mean it is amazing but all the games look the same nowadays (except those who run on Frostbite/2), it bugs me since years so I'm glad to finally so the Fox Engine in action.

It'll be an open world title and will run on the PS3? Fuck this, I want it, now.

I really want to know who the man with the scars is. In some screens he looks like Volgin but seeing the timeline of both games makes it unlikely now.

That has not been confirmed yet. Much more I think it'll be a split like Tanker/Plant in MGS2.

Something just occurred to me: We might still be trolled heavily by Kojima - even more than back in the day with MGS2. Some of you might remember that 2 months before the first GZ trailer was published, a journalist uploaded some photos of what he claimed to be a top secret first gameplay presentation of MGS5 at Konami. Now remember: This was around July.

The first photo shows the MGS5 logo (note the regular 5 instead of a Roman one / "Vee"). Furthermore, we don't see our regular "Tactical Espionage Action" above, but "[O]pen [G]round [R]econaissance [E]ndeavors" (after all, Kojima has stated lately how he wanted to reinvent/reboot MGS with this entry in the franchise and also said it to be an open world experience).

The second photo shows us a logo that we were supposed to see for the first time only a few weeks ago - Diamond Dogs. If you look carefully, you see 4 incomplete words: ZER ALZBURG ENAMO NFANTS

Only a few days after those photos hit the web, Kojima stated them all to be fakes on his official twitter account. This being a lie has become quite obvious with the stream he gave us on 27th of March this year -> MGS:V(ee)

Now when we add the "OGRE" from Open Ground Reconaissance Endeavors to the incomplete words of photo 2 we get:

We know due to his statement of being unsure wether or not he can release the game the way he intended it to be (Big Boss already goes from weird to insane between MG and MG2 and with his speech at the end of Peace Walker, we know that he is willing to conduct war crimes and terrorism now if deemed necessary), that there will be quite some harsh topics - the question is just what this is going to be?

That being said...I'm trying really hard to not get excited at this game

I say this because I stated in the past that I would set every copy of the new DmC on fire and ended buying the bloody thing on launch day...

If I'm buying this game, I'm buying a pre-owned copy when the price goes down. No way in hell am I giving my money to someone who just spat all over his fanbase and his actors.

Anyway, the main thing I'm hoping is that we get to see the birth of Raiden. It's my own personnel headcanon that Paz is Raiden's mother, just wanna find out a father now.

Also, I'm probably gonna get hate for this, but I really want this for Xbox. My PS3 is out of Memory and no way in hell am I deleting any of those save files and downloaded games.

It bothers me that they would get rid of David. But IF they keep Richard Doyle, I'll be ok. But the game looks it will be fun. I just want to know how they will have the open world environment.

I like the cut scenes will be a bit less. I love Metal gear Solid 4, but the CUT scenes were too long. I can't wait for this to come out. I'm hoping they do a good job on it. Since I'm worried slightly that the "new" type of game play will be different. I hope we see some of Fox Hound people in this game.

I don't see how Kojima was lying. Even in his interview he made it clear that he labelled the series with a roman numeral for 5 instead of the english 5. He even said one of the reasons he chose V over 5 because V was for victory. In that respect the leaked title is fake.

How can it be fake when it was already correct about Diamond Dogs & Galzburg almost a year before Kojima revealed those plot points? Also, Kojima likes to troll his fans - even if we leave out this whole Joakim Mogren & Moby Dick Studios thing: Remember the MGS2 trailers that didn't even show a glimpse of Raiden? Remember the early trailer of MGS4 making it seem like an FPS?

But TBH I don't see Kojima is someone who would lie to his fans. Sure he likes to trick them by not showing Raiden in the trailer and the whole Moby Dick Studio thing but it was just him pulling a prank. If info really got leaked I'd expect him to just not comment on it like any other gaming company. I mean that's what Blizzard did. But I only got into MGS recently so I may be wrong.

What I don't get is why Kojima is allowing the Japanese voice actor for Snake to continue doing the original version. I don't know why he has to ruin everything for the rest of the world who has only ever known David Hayter as Snake. He's being a butt-head. :(

RENAMO was a political party in Mozambique from 1975 to the Cold Wars years of the 80's. CIA lobbied to support them during their civil war because they were an anti-communist organization. I believe this is the same time frame as MGSV.

It may not be Zero but OZER. Its a hebrew name that means God's Helper. In sort Ozer could be someone in South Africa during the Cold War
