View Full Version : A Tough Welcome

Loud whistles and horns screeched through the thick air of Japan. This place was nothing like Kleis's home. It was loud (and of course anything louder then her could not be tolerated) it smelled weird, and there were so many people all mushed together she couldn't figure out the dead ones from the living ones! Wandering about, Kleis hoped to sense someone with similar abilities to hers. Or at the very LEAST find someone to give her directions... to anywhere... this place was so loud and confusing Kleis was even thinking about finding a park bench to sleep on, hopefully before she got too agitated...

Mani walked through the park he frequented often. Though, most times that was during the night and he was usually too busy to come here during the day. Not that he minded that much anyhow, this place was a much more peaceful place during the later hours. But technically what he was doing now could be classified as work so here he was.
Spotting his rather confused looking target in question, he approached the young green-haired woman. "You look rather lost," he said casually, "need any help?"

" Ti? erm, nani? Oh heh heh", Kleis responded nervously rubing the back of her neck, "uh, yes, I'm not from 'round here and I dunno what i'm suppose to do here..."
Suddenly it dawned on her, he was like her to some degree, his presence felt more like the (few) sprits she'd encounterd back home. She began circling the male looking him up and down, and didn't exactly see anything wrong with her actions. She also poked him a few time to see if he was solid. Seemed human...well...not dead anyway...
"I'm Kleis. who're you?" she asked pausing for a minute before continuing her stalking.

Mani raised an eyebrow at the girl's actions, not one of the more normal ones he guessed. O well...its not like the sort of people he was trying to encounter were really that "normal" anyway.
"The name's Mani," he answered back as he continued to stand in place as the girl continued circling around him. The things he had to endure...the girl must be lost or something if she doesn't know what to do in a park.
"Well this is a park, so nothing special to do here. Is there somewhere you're trying to go in particular?"
Maosha
03-31-2008, 11:39 PM
"erm well kinda... y'see I kinda got sent here 'cus my family back home think I'm some kinda a...mater? no..that ain't right...uh..martyr..yeah! Martyr! So I guess I gotta go somewhere...erm..holy? T'hell if I know..Family thinks I need to go save people souls so they thought to send me to the craziest most crowded place on earth...I mean lookit all the people here!oh! yeah, and by the way, yer not dead right?" Kleis responded with a wide grin. It must've been pretty obvious that she never really interacted with anyone outside her family...

"So let me get this straight, your family sent you to an unfamiliar place without someplace for you to live?" Mani put his fingers up to his temple, a strange case indeed. "A martyr huh...so for what cause do you plan do die for hmmm?

"eh-heh heh yeah, I'm not exactly from the most normal of places, I come from a little island in the middle of the Medditerainian Sea...My family dun get out much. They can't imagine a place without goats to milk and oranges to pick, and I guess I' wasn't much better 'till now..." Kleis admits, finally picking up that she probably wasn't following the rules of proper ettiquette as strictly as she should be, "and as for die'n. I really got no idea. Fist time I been off the island, but sumthin tells me a car's gunna do me in, Japanese people drive like wakos...." she adds on the last statement while sending a death glare at the busy street behind her and rubbing her sore rear, a car-related injury from earlier in the day. "So whut makes ya go all outta yer way fer lil ol' me? Most people I've talked to today just ignore me."

A girl who lived a secluded, sheltered life huh...this gets more interesting by the minute...
"Oh nothing in particular, you seemed rather lost out here," he lied. "So do you have an idea or plans about what to do in your current situation?"
Maosha
04-01-2008, 12:22 AM
With a loud burst of laughter Kleis managed to chuckle out, "Pfft! NOPE! NOt A CLUE!" Now this probably wasn't very funny, especially to to the person in said situation. But for some reason Kleis thought being skrewed over this bad was hillarious. Calming down a bit she manages to ask, "D-dun supose you got any ideas? pfft, heehee, I think I'm in a bit of a situation..."

Interesting girl indeed...
Mani scratched the back of his head, "Well in that case...I could let you stay in an extra room at my place till you find someplace of your own I guess," he suggested. The things he had to do for his job...

Kleis imediantly shut up and stared right at Mani. In utter shock she didn't know what to say, so far in her life all foreigners had really been jerks, or just been in it to get something. Kleis was naturally a little suspicious, "I-I dun wanna sound rude, but I prolly will anyway, erm...Y-yer not doin this t'git anythin are ya? No secret agendas er nuttin? I mean yer offers real nice, and chances are my answers gunna be the same fer either answer but...uh...I dunno, I'm just not real used to strangers. Guess it's an island thing." she finally finishes while rubbing the back of her neck. What she feard most was that some how he'd discover her secret, now while her family saw it as 'a gift from god' she knew that chances are other people would find it disgusting... "But really, if yer trying t'get anythin outta me just let me know now, it's better than beat'n 'round the tree....er...shrub...no....gyah whatever..."mental delemas are such a pain...

"Oh no worries then, I have no real secret agenda," he laughed. Another lie, but it was best to address the situation at hand in a more secluded location.
"Any how I'm rather busy, so if you have no other plans I'd rather make my way home now."
Maosha
04-01-2008, 12:59 AM
"Well then! Lead the way my good sir!" she states stepping aside to lead the way. On the way she decided to learn a little bit more about this kinda stranger, "So, whatcha do fer a livin? There's sumthin special about you...maybie... a furtuneteller?" She laughed at her own joke. She didn't want to make it too obvious that she knew he was special, but didn't want to say anything in case he wasn't aware of his powers yet...

Mani led the way to his home. "Oh my job, I simply work at a nearby cafe and do other activities here and there I guess. Nothing that special." While saying this he threw a card at a girl who was "advertising herself" at a distance, aiming at her forehead. He was rather annoyed that she was a no show at the "meeting" he held the other night for his other guest.
"Don't mind that," he said as he continued on his way to his home. It was rather unfortunate that his house was located in one of the more underdeveloped and decrepit parts of town, but he had little choice in the matter he guessed.
Maosha
04-01-2008, 01:14 AM
A little thrown off at the card, she concluded that this guy was rather cryptic. Didn't bother her one bit though. He'd let something slip eventually, and all he did was convince her that he KNEW he was special. "So this is yer place? Pretty big compared to my house back home." And it was the honest truth, her house was small and humble and in pretty rough shape. Kleis was convinced that the shack she called a home dated back to the trojans. She followed her mysterious host into her new living quarters.

"It's really not that big a place compared to most," the man chuckled. He smirked, "Anyway, now that we're alone I guess its time to stop the act."
Utilizing his special ability, he rose the girl up off the ground and kept her that way as he walked to his home's true entrance. At that point he jumped into the hole and began his slow controlled descent, having the girl trail closely above him. When they finally touched down to the ground he opened the door to his home at the end of the corridor to reveal a rather spacious living room from which the dining room and kitchen where visible. The rooms were rather well furnished, but nothing entirely too fancy he figured.
"So, welcome to your temporary home for the next few days."
Maosha
04-01-2008, 01:30 AM
"Well day-um!" Kleis laughed, not in the least bit suprised...well, at lest not about his secret, to her these living quarters were like that of royalty. Supressing the urge to go exploring she decided to get to the bottom of this. "alright, so what's the real reason I'm here then? You a 'mater too?" A bit of uneasyness in her voice. With this kind of power, he probably could beat her to a pulp with a flick of a wrist. She put her arms behind her back in a casual fashion, trying to conceal their minor transformation, it was best to get started, in case she would need them.

"Hmmm the reason you're here is the same reason you had for following me here. You sensed I was not normal did you not? In the same way I brought you here because I could sense, quite easily mind you, that you were not a normal person," he said nonchalantly.
"Anyway, the real reason I brought you here is that..."
It was at this moment the other resident of this home decided to make her entrance. Namely by punching Mani in the face, sending him into a nearby couch. She made her way to sit rather aggressively upon his body as he laid upon the couch, picking his head up slightly by pulling up part of his unzipped collar.
"Well hello darling, a nice welcome home per usu..."
"Shut it," the woman interrupted. She pointed at their guest, "The hell is she, what do you think you're doing bringing random people into our house without telling me beforehand!"
Maosha

Caught off gaurd by what she assumed was a couple, she put her now partially tranformed hands out in front of her defensifly while trying to explain herself, "Oi! It's not like THAT miss, it's just them we're special and he wanted to talk about our specialness...erm...that din come out right..." realizing she had her 'death claws' out she quickly re-hid them behind her back laughing nervously.

"As you can see," Mani said from his current position, "I found another one, except this one is kinda like a stray or something."
The woman glared at their guest for a moment before getting up off Mani and walking towards the new comer. She then unsheathed her jian and pointed it at the girl's head. "Another one eh, well then it looks like she skipped the test part before coming here."
Maosha
04-01-2008, 06:42 PM
"Hey, hey I ain't here t'fight you ninjas er whatever you are," Kleis states using her now fully transformed hand to push the point of the katana away from her head."I'm here to figure out...well...why I'm here...and anyway, if theres a test I'm definitly gonna fail. Can't read Japanese y'know."
Mystic Serenade
04-01-2008, 07:53 PM
The woman smiled, "Well then...it's a good thing you don't need to be able to read the for this test." The next moment could be described as the woman now turned assailant grabbing the girl by the collar and then with a high speed jump, forcing the girl through the door and unto the corridor floor that led to the residence."
"This test is mandatory," she spoke with a hint of viciousness while pointing the sword at the girl's neck.
Maosha
04-01-2008, 08:02 PM
Now Kleis was formidibley irate. Smacking the sword away she stood up to expose her full sized arms. Blood trickling from her nose made her look even more wild than she actually was.
allright, alls I gotta do is take the sword from this chick, looks like the only weapon on her I need to worry about...It is SO on you little @)*^$
Extending one arm foreward while blocking with the other Kleis makes one final attempt at piece... maybe dispite all the commotion of the day, she was in a good mood.
"Alright Dollface, this is yer last chance, I dun wanna fight, but since yer bein suck a whiney lil Skilla about it, then its on!"

"Oh, so you're one of those types I see," the woman taunted. "You'll be very fun to play with indeed. Lets see if you can keep up."
The woman flickered in and out of sight as she sped towards her intended target and once she was in range to attack she thrust her sword forward aiming for the girl's abdomen.
Maosha
04-01-2008, 09:10 PM
"OIOIOIOIOI!" Kleis calls as she does a very awkard twirl to avoid the attack. cursing her lack of speed she takes a lesser hit on her side. In response she tries to back hand her opponent with one hand while also trapping her with the other. "Types? what is this? A card game? Cocky she-devil is weirder then me..."
Mystic Serenade
04-01-2008, 09:37 PM
"My what big hands you have," the woman commented as she blocked one and used her previous high speed attack to dodge the other. "What's with these people with powers now-a-days that don't even know what they are."
She sheathed her blade and collected reiatsu at her hand, releasing it from her fist as she made a single punching motion at her target.
Maosha
04-01-2008, 10:00 PM
"Shame my hands got nutti'n on yer butt." Kleis teased as she set a hand forward to block the attack. her other was by her side as to block rear and side attacks. "nyaw, crud..." Mmoaning at the oncoming attack, she knew she could block it, but this was gunna still hurt like the devil. Her arms could handle it without so much as a scratch, she wasn't sure her spine could too. But this was the only chance to grab the katana... and once she grabbed it she was SO gunna snap the little thing in two...

04-01-2008, 10:20 PM
"Why you little..." snide remarks directed towards her body would not be tolerated. She wasn't vain or anything...but still...the girl would pay. She readied to draw her sword once more...
That is until someone grabbed her from behind to prevent her from doing so. "Now, now, I think we've seen enough," he said with a smile. "Let's just go inside and have some tea hmm?" he said this in a normal tone, but if one had the ability they could also sense that Mani was releasing some reiatsu as well to make his point.
"Bah fine," said the woman in defeat, releasing herself from her companion's hold and began walking back to their home.

04-01-2008, 10:27 PM
"who was that she-monster? gawd, I swear that woman could suck the soul right outta someones eyes..." Kleis states sending a glare in the general direction in which she left, while also trying to stop her bleeding nose without returning her arms to their normal state. Needless to say, not the brightest choice.

"Oh, she's just quite enthusiastic about fighting and her job is all," said Mani. He pulled out a handkerchief from her pocket and offered it to the bleeding girl. "Shall we head back in?"
Maosha
04-01-2008, 10:36 PM
"yeah, that'd be nice... she ain't gunna try to kill me inmy sleep is she?" Kleis asked taking the hankercheif and attempting to clot the blood in her nose.

Kleis lets out a sigh of releif, "So, there are more people like us? Are ya, like, collect'n us? What are we s'pose t'do? Can I meet the other ones?..uh. sorry, I'm prolly ask'n too much... but this is ....awsome..no..it's like...so...so...so TOTALLY awsome!" Kleis wrings out the blood from the hankercheif, now using it to clot the blood on her side, her nose was still bleeding but not quite as bad, chances are she'd have better luck on her side.

"I guess you could say that." Mani walked into the kitchen to make himself a cup of tea. "You'll meet them when the time comes."

"Oh! Tell that scarey woman I really didn't mean what I said about her butt then...Anyway, what do we do?" Kleis shouts into the kitchen as she sat down at a table. Usually such important matters didn't take top priority, but she wanted to make sure she knew what she would be getting herself into. if only to avoid anymore surprise attacks.

"... naw, I had my fair share 'fore I left home. Anywho, What did shouty-Mcbitchesalot mean by 'types'? Does it have something to do with the fact that she didn't transform? "Oh I see," he said with a hint of amusement. "Indeed there are various categories these various powers of ours fit into. O yes by the way, despite your impressions of her I am going to have to ask you to watch what you call her. She is my companion after all."
Not leaving much time for the girl to respond he continued, "So thats the only things you ever fought in your life?"
Maosha
04-02-2008, 08:49 PM
"uh-huh, she's a fast shedev-" Kleis quickly corrected herself, "um..Darling," not familliar with that word in japanese she asumed it was the woman's name,"I was suprised t'say the least. I mean people have picked fight with me before... but never ones like that..." Kleis looked down at the table with a new fear of 'Darling' who was one of the first people like her she had ever met, and the first to attempt to murder her. A shudder crept up her spine just thinking about it. If one person was that bad, what were the others like?...And even more intimadating, what were their oponents going to be like?

Definitely a strange one that girl.
Mani quickly finished off his tea, placing the cup into the nearby sink. It would have been rather unsightly to leave little trails of blood on the table, so he resolved to clean that up. "Hopefully this won't be a regular occurrence," Mani said to himself as he wiped up the blood with a wet paper towel.
"You really need to tell me these sort of things before you actually go and do them you know," says Masaki, breaking the silence.
"Heh, sorry about that, but you know we're sort of short on time." He throws the paper towel into the trash can as its purpose had been fulfilled. "Hopefully these kids will be able to handle what's coming.
